Eric Sheridan Prydz (born July 19, 1976) is a Swedish DJ and producer based in London, United Kingdom. The pronunciation of his surname is often questioned; it is pronounced "prids", but when under his alias, Pryda, it is pronounced "pride-ah". In October 2011, DJ Magazine announced the results of their annual Top 100 DJ Poll, where Prydz placed at #46.
Until recently, Prydz had only played shows in and around Europe as he has a fear of flying. In December 2008, Prydz was forced to cancel several dates in Australia, New Zealand and Malta after panic attacks prevented him from boarding the outbound flight.
On Armin van Buuren's radio show "A State of Trance" in February 2011, it was announced that Prydz recently became a father.
His debut live show called "EPIC" (Eric Prydz in Concert) was held on April 2nd, 2011 at the O2 Brixton Academy Arena in London where he played most of his own production, as well as unfinished and upcoming tracks. The second show was at Global Gathering on July 29th and the third instalment at the Alexandra Palace on November 26th.
Deep Dish is a duo of DJs and house-music producers consisting of Iranian-American members Ali "Dubfire" Shirazinia and Sharam Tayebi. Based in Washington, D.C., Shirazinia and Tayebi are well known for providing house or dance remixes of tracks of famous stars such as Madonna, Cher and Gabrielle, and for their live DJing sets. They often collaborate with DC artist Richard Morel and produced a dance hit with his song "True (The Faggot is You)". Their remixing abilities first came to attention with their seminal 1995 remix of De'Lacy's "Hideaway," a club classic. Other collaborations include "The Future of the Future (Stay Gold)" with British group Everything but the Girl, which appeared on Deep Dish's artist album Junk Science, which was released in 1998.
In August 2009, Sharam was featured on the Essential Mix and his mix was subsequently voted the best of 2009.
Steve Hiroyuki Aoki (born November 30, 1977) is an American electro house musician, record producer and the founder of Dim Mak Records.
Steve Hiroyuki Aoki was born in Miami and grew up in Newport Beach, California. He graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 1995; he was a star player on the varsity badminton team. He is the third child of Rocky Aoki and Chizuru Kobayashi. His father was a former Japanese Olympic wrestler who also founded the restaurant chain Benihana. He has two older siblings, sister Kana (who is sometimes called by her middle name "Grace"), and brother Kevin (owner of Doraku Sushi restaurant). He also has three half-siblings, all of whom are younger: half-brother Kyle and half-sisters Echo, and Devon, the supermodel and actress. As a child, Steve lived with his grandfather,[citation needed] his mother, and his two older siblings.
Aoki attended the University of California, Santa Barbara and graduated with two B.A.s; one in Women's Studies and the other in Sociology. In college, he produced do-it-yourself records and ran underground concerts out of his Biko room in the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative, which was located in Isla Vista, a section of residential land adjacent to UCSB. As a concert venue, the apartment became known as The Pickle Patch. By his early 20s, Aoki had built his own record label, which he named Dim Mak after his childhood hero, Bruce Lee. He has also been in numerous bands, including This Machine Kills, which released an album on Ebullition Records, Esperanza, and The Fire Next Time.
Lincoln Barrett, better known by the stage name High Contrast (born 18 September 1979, Penarth, Cardiff), is a Welsh drum and bass DJ and producer.
Barrett grew up more interested in films and film soundtracks rather than music, and still cites Wendy Carlos's A Clockwork Orange soundtrack album and the Vangelis soundtrack for Blade Runner as defining musical influences. Whilst studying film making in Newport, he heard J Majik's Arabian Nights which turned the then 17-year-old Barrett on to drum and bass music. Barrett used to work in Cardiff's only electronic record shop, Catapult. A short time after he began to make music, he was given a DJ residency at Cardiff's drum and bass night, named Silent Running. During his residency at Silent Running, Barrett played alongside artists such as Grooverider and London Elektricity.
In June 2002, Barrett's debut album, True Colours, was released on Hospital Records, with "Return of Forever" and "Global Love" finding their way into the UK Singles Chart. His second album was High Society.
Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Remember me to one who lives there
For once she was a true love of mine
Have her make me a cambric shirt
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Without no seam nor fine needle work
And then she'll be a true love of mine
Tell her to weave it in a sycamore wood lane
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
And gather it all with a basket of flowers
And then she'll be a true love of mine
Have her wash it in yonder dry well
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
where water ne'er sprung nor drop of rain fell
And then she'll be a true love of mine
Have her find me an acre of land
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Between the sea foam and over the sand
And then she'll be a true love of mine
Plow the land with the horn of a lamb
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Then sow some seeds from north of the dam
And then she'll be a true love of mine
Tell her to reap it with a sickle of leather
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
And gather it all in a bunch of heather
And then she'll be a true love of mine
If she tells me she can't, I'll reply
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Let me know that at least she will try
And then she'll be a true love of mine
Love imposes impossible tasks
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Though not more than any heart asks
And I must know she's a true love of mine
Dear, when thou has finished thy task
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Come to me, my hand for to ask
For thou then art a true love of mine
HEY LITTLE BOY
YOU DON'T HAVE TO HIDE NOTHING NO MORE
YOU DIDN'T DO NOTHING
THAT HASN'T BEEN DONE BEFORE
LITTLE BOY THOUGHT HE WOULDN'T GET CAUGHT YOU SEE
HE THOUGHT HE'D GET AWAY WITH GOING OUT ON ME
OTHER BOYS DID IT
YOU DIDN'T THINK OF NOTHING NEW
YOU WENT OUT ON ME
SO OTHER BOYS DID IT TOO
YOU CAN LEAVE LITTLE BOY
I DON'T WANT YOU ROUND HERE NO MORE
DON'T COME KNOCKIN'
YOU WON'T GET PAST MY DOOR
YOU'VE GOT NOTHING TO HIDE
AND EVERYBODY KNOWS IT TOO
TOO BAD LITTLE BOY
IT'S ALL OVER FOR YOU
(Refrain)
Die ganze Welt dreht sich um mich
denn ich bin nur ein Egoist
der Mensch, der mir am nächsten ist
bin ich, ich bin ein Egoist
Ganz oben auf der Liste
ja da stehe ich
Du mußt mir schon verzeih'n,
aber ich liebe mich
das obwohl ich überaus und
durchaus kritisch bin
hab ich den ganzen lieben langen Tag
nur mich im Sinn
Ich habe über meinem Bett
'nen Spiegel angebracht
damit mein eig'nes Spiegelbild
mir meinen Schlaf bewacht
und ich will niemanden wollen
nein - ich will, dass man mich will
bis ich kriege was ich brauche
halt ich niemals still
Refrain
Refrain
Was ist er denn
was hat er denn
was kann er denn
was macht er denn
was red' er denn
wer glaubt er das er ist?
The night's a dark lord well dressed seducing our sun
Upon the dawning of her full day he usually would come
Galloping upon his winged horse
Leaving trails of stars across the planet the night scene of New York
Comes to life with lights pubs clubs with thugs
Mobsters gangsters criminals dealers with drugs
Loud music crowds are moving up and down blocks
In and out of spots cops watch for a foul shooting
So how we moving my soul scour through the clouds
Where the moon ah sit
Like the wise owl searching through a gloomy mist
6 will bring a casket down to it's tomb
Another child gets pushed through the uterus
From the womb we're intuitive
Eternal peace or damnation depending what we do with it
A genius or a lunatic
A general or a fugitive it's essential...
[Hook:]
IT'S ESSENTIAL
[Talking:]
Word
IT'S ESSENTIAL to be a man of your word
Take care of your seeds
To the young kids honor your mother
The greedy night is full of demon smiles
And every hustler wear horns
And every fiend comes from the ground
The FBI got satellite radars screening our child
Jacking off to our chaos the beast get aroused
There's another world with under bosses rich not into flossing
Put hits on certain lawmen
Who pick who runs for office
If they switch then the guns are brought in
Who parted with professional ball players with big endorsements
Who love to trick on hoes that sniff blow in bathroom toilets
They alcoholics go through mad divorces
See their wives in the papers with half their fortune
Then there's the mob leaving tips a hundred bucks at the bar
Big spenders around the dealers shuffling cards
Evil laughter puffing cigars
In a room full of goons tats cover their bullet wounds
Rats are pulled from lagoons
Mexican mob doing shots of tequila live niggas
Throwing up knots in their pictures
With gang signs at the same time
If crack was awards and could frame 9s
You would have plaques and coke scale and money stacks
But there's another party with Presidents CIA intelligence
The federal defense Executives with the Aliens Iraqis and Israelians
And by the time of my demise the one who talk to Cain shall rise
The second time while Abel blood rains from the skies
And who knows where my soul will fly I'm near a cemetery
On top of a dark hillside it's essential...
[Hook:]
IT'S ESSENTIAL
[Talking:]
Everything's ESSENTIAL
To the single black mothers who handling business
Always about their paper and doing their numbers
IT'S ESSENTIAL
Knowwhatimean?
To the youth out there...
Be a soldier
Take care of yours
Keep it health
Always keep a clear mind
Look at the world in front of you
Know
Snow fills the night air, as the wind throws her thick white hair
Across her face icicles appear fall from space
Like tears white frost light flakes
I'm with my peers remorse at the wakes
So many cats I know I lost his way
Sprayed up by bullets I'm in my Woolrich
We cross them graves my man spoke mad hoarse from pain he said
"Yo Priest, just think of what lost today"
The city lights look like the ice around a rich man's wrist
Where every hustler big dreamer prays it grants them a wish
By myself right off the belt till hit the Van Wyck
Cruising jigsaw my thoughts I need a plan to exist
Should I get on it like them Cuban Guerillas?
Fly to their country make a truce with their killers
Move in a villa
I come with few of my niggas they come with theirs
We politic on struggle and social affairs while toasting beers
My man had cunning ideas to get rich with mobsters
But what if it didn't prosper?
Look what they did to Hoffa
My feet buried in the sand out in Nicaragua
Or on a cruise out to Venezuela
On a ship with a pool designer clothes and expensive tailors
Sipping cappuccino favorite flavor is French vanilla
Exotic foods catching shrimps no more menace failure
The Offering is the movie my others albums were just trailers
I can't hardly sit through the news watching fictional tool
Political views the sky is dark as the original Jews
Subliminal clues left in the hieroglyphs
Where the ancient empires exist
Walk inside the cliffs in Cairo read papyruses
On a wall full of gaul of Judas the disciple's kiss
At the last supper nowadays it's the microchip in the skull
My survival kit is a rifle clip
[Hook:]
I'm gonna wait till the midnight hour
that's when my love comes tumbling down
I'm gonna wait till the midnight hour
when there's no one else around
I'm gonna take you girl and hold you
and do all the things I told you
in the midnight hour
I'm gonna wait till the stars come out
and see that twinkle in your eye
I'm gonna wait till the midnight hour
that's when my love begins to shine
I'm gonna take you girl and hold you
and do all the things I told you
in the midnight hour
When all have lost faith in you
'cos the dice you threw didn't show your number
And they all think your winning days are through
I'll be there to pick you up.
Your confidence mustn't start to drop
I'll take my chance 'cos I have faith in you.
So spin the wheel
call your number - lucky my stakes on you
We may lose but the game we must play and it's true.
Life's the dealer and your cards I cannot see
Out all on earth I'll take my chances on you.
Take my chances on you - take my chances on you
Take my chances on you - take my chances on you
When all your so called friends used to call
Forget your number 'cos they all think
You're a star fallen from the sky.
I'll be there right by your side my love
For you cannot be denied I'll see it through
'cos I believe in you.
So roll the dice
call your number
lucky I'm there with you.
We may lose but the game we must play
And it's true lifes kicked you down
And your heart is filled with pain
But of all on earth Ill take my chances on you.
Take my chances on you - take my chances on you . . .
So roll the dice call your number
. . .
Take my chances on you - take my chances on you . . .
'cos I believe in you
yeah.
Take my chances on you - take my chances on you . . .
Wake up little Susie-wake up
Wake up little Susie-wake up
Wake up little Susie-wake up
Wake up little Susie-wake up
We both fell sound asleep
Wake up little Susie and weep
The movie's over
It's four o'clock
And we're in trouble deep
Wake up little Susie
Wake up little Susie
You've gotta go home [not used by Suzi]
Wake up little Susie-wake up
Wake up little Susie-wake up
Wake up little Susie-wake up
Wake up little Susie-wake up
The movie wasn't so hot
It didn't have much of a plot
We fell asleep
Our goose is cooked
Our reputation is shot
Wake up little Susie
Wake up little Susie
You've gotta go home [not used by Suzi]
Well what are we gonna tell your mamma
What are we gonna tell your pop
What are we gonna tell our friends when they say "Ooh
la la"
Wake up little Susie
Wake up little Susie
You've gotta go home [not used by Suzi]
We both fell sound asleep
Wake up little Susie and weep
The movie's over
It's four o'clock
And we're in trouble deep
Wake up little Susie
Wake up little Susie
You've gotta go home [not used by Suzi]
