Edgar Frederick "Ned" Yost III (pronounced /ˈjoʊst/; born August 19, 1955, in Eureka, California) is a former Major League Baseball catcher and current manager of the Kansas City Royals. He is the former manager of the Milwaukee Brewers.
Yost, as a player, was used primarily as a backup catcher for the Brewers from 1980 to 1983 (which included the 1982 World Series), and then spent a year with the Texas Rangers (1984; he played a career-high 80 games with the Rangers, hitting .182) and played 5 games for the Montreal Expos (1985) before retiring.
He never had more than 242 at bats in a season. He ended his career with a .212 batting average, and .237 on base percentage, in 605 at bats. He had a .982 fielding percentage (the league average was .987).
Yost briefly enjoyed a second career as a taxidermist in Jackson, Mississippi in between his playing days and coaching days.[citation needed]
After a brief stint managing in the minors, Yost joined the Atlanta Braves organization. He was the Braves' bullpen coach from 1991 to 1998 and earned a ring as a part of the 1995 World Series championship team. In 1999 Yost became the Braves' third base coach, where he stayed until the end of the 2002 season.
Pedro Jaime Martínez (born October 25, 1971 in Manoguayabo, Dominican Republic) is a retiredMajor League Baseball pitcher. He is an eight-time All-Star, three-time Cy Young Award winner, and 2004 World Series champion. At the time of his 200th win in April 2006, Martínez had the highest winning percentage of any 200-game winner in modern baseball history (he eventually slipped .003 behind Whitey Ford). His ERA+ is the highest of any starting pitcher in MLB history.
Officially listed at 5 ft 11 in (1.80 m) and 195 pounds (88 kg), Martínez was unusually small for a modern-day power pitcher, and he is believed to be somewhat smaller than his officially listed height and weight.
Martínez's pitching style was atypical as he commanded an arsenal of "out" pitches. His fastball, cutter, curveball and circle changeup were all well above average; combined with his historically excellent control, they proved to be an overpowering package. Martínez threw from a low three-quarter position that hid the ball very well from batters, who have remarked on the difficulty of picking up Martínez's delivery.
Daniel Richard Duffy (born December 21, 1988) is an American pitcher in professional baseball. He has pitched in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Kansas City Royals since 2011.
Duffy attended Cabrillo High School in Lompoc, California, where he pitched for the school's baseball team. As a senior, Duffy had a 5–3 win-loss record, a 0.60 earned run average (ERA), and 127 strikeouts in 58 2⁄3 innings pitched.
The Kansas City Royals drafted Duffy in the third round of the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft. He began his professional career that season with the Arizona Royals of the Rookie-level Arizona League, where he pitched in 11 games and had a 1.45 ERA.
The Royals promoted Duffy to Burlington Bees of the Class-A Midwest League in 2008, where he had a 8–4 record and a 2.20 ERA in 17 starts. He was named Burlington's Pitcher of the Year. In 2009, Duffy started 24 games for the Wilmington Blue Rocks of the Class-A Advanced Carolina League. He was named a Carolina League All-Star, and finished the season with a 9–3 record and a 2.98 ERA. Duffy represented the Royals in the 2009 All-Star Futures Game, where he pitched 2⁄3 scoreless innings.
Horror stalks the dark night
Keeps the world from our sight
We can't see all of the silent ones coming
To take the ultimate bite
No lucky charm will suffice
To keep the monsters at bay
No clove of garlic or crucifix ever
Kept the vampires away
Nightside, nightside
Open wide, open wide
Nightside, hell-born
Nightside, devil-spawn
Darkness, in our poor eyes
Helps the night to disguise
The legions of crawling &
Hopping black horrors
Who come to aid our demise
No lucky charms ever help
To keep us safe while we sleep
No incantation or pentacle ever
Kept the strong from the weak
Nightside, nightside.
Open wide, open wide
Nightside, hell-born
Nightside, devil-spawn
Nightside, nightside.
Demons ride, demons ride
Nightside, ripped and torn
Nightside, devil-spawn
Terror, afraid of the dark.
Hear the devil dog bark.
You cannot hope you can
Ever outrun them
And their teeth are ever so sharp
No way to save your poor self
No way to keep you immune
No magic ever produced will assist you
To outlive the full of the moon
Nightside, nightside
Open wide, open wide
Nightside, hell-born
Nightside, devil-spawn
Nightside, open wide
Nightside, devil-spawn
Refrain:
In the night suit, night suit
In the night suit, night suit
In the night suit, night suit
Well look at me now
The glass falls down cracking, I'm so proud
Every pulse gets so loud when I step out with nothing like
My old way of walking
Chorus:
In the night suit, night suit
In the night suit, night suit
In the night suit, night suit
All singing, all dancing
Transaction transatlantic
Be someone
Be no-one
Please receive me, don't stop sending
The suit makes you move in ways you suspected
The fabric is made of stances collected
The cut makes you shimmer, it alters your features
You click into focus, it's strict as a teacher
Mobile and fluid, a magnet of glances
Contorted, conductive
Meshed into the dance
(Chorus)
(Refrain)
Oh teach me to move, oh just teach me to move
I'll be fast, I'll be pleasure, be joy, I'll be jaywalk
Be glitter and flicker, a firefly, a swagger
Tricky and vivid, I'll split light to spectrums
Revolving, reflecting in every direction
There is a place where the losers win
A port of call for desperate men
It is known by many names
We come and go but it remains
Nobody cares, nobody cries
if you're scared or if you die
That's the way it goes
You should know...
You're in the place they call the Night-side
In the shadows where the killers and the pirates hide
Stick around if you think you can survive
in the city on the Night-side
Running scared through endless night
Too afraid to put up a fight
They shackle her wrists
It's too late to resist
Scanned for weapons and transmitters
Sold at auction to the highest bidder
That's the way it goes
Now you know...
You can find us on the Night-side
In the shadows where the killers and the pirates hide
Come around if you think you can survive
in the city on the Night-side
You can find us on the Night-side
In the shadows where the killers and the pirates hide
Come around if you think you can survive
If I could only say, what you had in mind
If I could only run, towards your words
If I could only change, the things that stop me moving
I would follow (in your footsteps)
All this time I'm running on
All this time I'm running...
There's just no way to decide
(this time I'm running on)
There's not a lot of choice here
You're the only thing keeping me alive
(this time I'm running on)
I'll wait on the night side
no one tells me where i should go
I'll wait on the night side
i'm awake and nobody knows
I'll wait on the night side
There's a party at the edge of town
and everyone is going down
to the prettiest place
where the glitter and lace are on
I will go there another day, another day
to make my way
see the painting on the wall
press a button and i'll make it fall
when it shatters to tears
on the previous years alone
goes the frame,
oh it's such a shame, it's such a shame
but who can blame her after all
with the skeletons of happy clowns
and smaller girls with bigger sons
i'm a little intrigued by the people i chase around
through the town,
they will crush you when you make a sound
you make a sound
is it over when the light comes in
when everything begins to spin
and the memories show that the people they go away
far away
do you say the words you wanna say
The sun the rain and the crossroads
I wonder what waits up ahead
And only the ghost knows the answer
To what happens after I'm dead
Streets of hell it's a jungle
I see people with hate in their eyes
The man with the gun is just a child on the run
From the light... yeah
Night City
In the city night
Someone's crawling out of sight
Hiding in the neon night city
The moon the wind and the shadows
Still we are standing in the shade
Wolves at the door still howling
To eat you alive it's the game
Dreams have perished forever
Towers of stone to the ground
Sirens screaming someone's bleeding
In the night
Night City
In the city night
Something's moving from the light
Hiding in the dead of night city
Night City
The sky begins to crack
Lightning will attack
Night City
The fame the fortune and the power
Soon falls another spotlight kid
Salt of the eye from my inner cry
Gonna die
Night City
In the city night... yeah
Oh Night City
Night City
Night City
Night City
Night City
Oh Night City
Raising devils on the way
Many more than you can slay down... stay down
In Night City
Night City
And the wolf is at the door
Howling for more and more
In the city
Night City
In Night City
Just a dreamer shining bright
Rock you in the still of night city
Oh Night City
Hello world my name is insomnia,
Cause I’d rather fight my thoughts then sleep
I believe I rather like this feeling in my hands
And I’m obsessed with not the thought of you
But the thought of what we should be
And I believe that I’ve lost touch with
The conscious side of me
I drink myself stupid till
Your name does not even ring a bell
This glass is my prescription
Overdosed on new addictions
Lady luck skipped my name
She blessed the world
And left my head for dead
Love drunk from bottle kissing
All’s good when I’ve got whiskey
Stop the noise stop all the talking
Stop theses thoughts they're too loud
They're screaming in different directions
On how to deal with what I am now
So yeah I’ve gone a tad bit over board
But I guess thats what this shit will do
When you’ve fallen and your heart just wont move
Gather round now everybody
I’ve got a story and I’ll start from the top
I met a demon back at the ocean
Raise your glass to their love potions
Roll the dice
Cause the boys want another drink
Hurry up
Lets get drunk
Passed out
Your face is but a blur to me
My eyes close
And I fold
Lately I’ve been having these strange dreams
And they tend to frighten me so I cant’ sleep in
In my dreams
(In my dreams)
I’m so deadly
(I’m deadly)
Don’t you wish
(I’m deadly)
I bet you wish you’d never met me
Roll the dice
The boys want another drink
Passed out
Your face is but a blur to me
Young boys like u
Young girls love u
That's what u feel
Not in your city
But down on your city
Middle men's dream is
Feeling ok,
So ok with society
But you're cool cool cool
They don't know you're so cool
So welcome to
'No Destination city
don't give up and tell' em
you're the leader
Young girls want u
Women fuck u
You're the idol, the god
You're the best in the world
But down on your city
Women fuck old men
Cause they are rich and famous
