A bass player, or bassist is a musician who plays a bass instrument such as a double bass, bass guitar, keyboard bass or a low brass instrument such as a tuba or sousaphone. Different musical genres tend to be associated with one or more of these instruments. Since the 1960s, the electric bass is the standard bass instrument for rock and roll, jazz fusion, heavy metal, country, reggae and pop music. The double bass is the standard bass instrument for classical music, bluegrass, rockabilly, and most genres of jazz. Low brass instruments such as the tuba or sousaphone are the standard bass instrument in Dixieland and New Orleans-style jazz bands.
Despite the associations of different bass instruments with certain genres, there are exceptions. Some 1990s and 2000s rock and pop bands use a double bass, such as Barenaked Ladies; Indie band The Decemberists; and punk rock/psychobilly groups such as The Living End, Nekromantix, The Horrorpops, and Tiger Army. Some fusion jazz groups use a lightweight, stripped-down electric upright bass rather than a double bass. Some composers of modern art music use the electric bass in a chamber music setting. Some jazz big bands use electric bass. Some fusion, R&B and house music groups use synth bass or keyboard bass rather than electric bass. Some Dixieland bands use double bass or electric bass instead of a tuba. In some jazz groups and jam bands, the basslines are played by a Hammond organ player, who uses the bass pedal keyboard or the lower manual for the low notes.
Victor Lemonte Wooten (born September 11, 1964) is an American bass player, composer, author, and producer, and has been the recipient of five Grammy Awards.
Wooten has won the "Bass Player of the Year" award from Bass Player magazine three times in a row, and was the first person to win the award more than once. In addition to a solo career and collaborations with various artists, Wooten has been the bassist for Béla Fleck and the Flecktones since the group's formation in 1988.
In 2008, Wooten joined Stanley Clarke and Marcus Miller to record an album. The trio of bassists, under the name SMV, released Thunder in August 2008 and began a supporting tour the same month.
Wooten was also a judge for the 4th annual Independent Music Awards to support independent artists' careers.
Born to Dorothy and Pete Wooten, Victor is the youngest of the five Wooten Brothers, the other four being Regi, Roy, Rudy and Joseph Wooten, all of whom are musicians. His brother Regi began to teach Victor to play bass when he was two, and by the age of six, Victor was playing in front of crowds with his brothers in their family band, The Wooten Brothers Band, and toured supporting Curtis Mayfield, among others. When his family moved east, they continued to hone their skills. His brothers began a residency at Busch Gardens. When his brother Roy asked if Victor could learn the fiddle to play with them on quick notice, he complied, adding another instrument to his repertoire.

A Woman In Trouble
A Story of a mystery...A mystery inside worlds within worlds...Unfolding around a woman...A woman in love and in trouble.
Neighbor: The Evil was born and followed the boy...
Neighbor: Is there a murder in your film?::Nikki: Uh, no. It's not part of the story.::Neighbor: No, I think you are wrong about that.::Nikki: No.::Neighbor: Brutal fucking murder!::Nikki: I don't like this kind of talk; the things you've been saying. I think you should go now.::Neighbor: Yes. Me, I... I can't seem to remember if it's today, two days from now, or yesterday. I suppose if it was 9:45, I'd think it was after midnight! For instance, if today was tomorrow, you wouldn't even remember that you owed on an unpaid bill. Actions do have consequences. And yet, there is the magic. If it was tomorrow, you would be sitting over there.::[Neighbor points to Nikki's couch across the room]::Neighbor: Do you see?
Announcer: The Marilyn Levens Starlight Celebrity Show will be back next week. From Hollywood, California - where stars make dreams, and dreams make stars.
Neighbor: So, you have a new role to play, I hear?::Nikki: Up for a role, but I'm afraid far from getting it.::Neighbor: No, no. I definitely heard that you have it.::Nikki: Oh?::Neighbor: Yes. It is an... It is an interesting role?::Nikki: Oh yes, very!::Neighbor: Is it about marriage?::Nikki: Um, perhaps in some ways, but...::Neighbor: Your husband is involved?::Nikki: No.::Neighbor: Hmmm. A little boy went out to play. When he opened his door, he saw the world. As he passed through the doorway, he caused a reflection. Evil was born. Evil was born, and followed the boy.::Nikki: I'm sorry, what is that?::Neighbor: An old tale, and a variation. A little girl went out to play. Lost in the marketplace, as if half-born. Then, not through the marketplace - you see that, don't you? - but through the alley behind the marketplace. This is the way to the palace. But it isn't something you remember.
Neighbor: I've been going around, meeting my new neighbors. I think that it is important to know one's neighbors. To say "hello!" to them.
Devon Berk: Kingsley, get to the point.::Kingsley Stewart: On High and Blue Tomorrows is in fact a remake.::Devon Berk: It's a remake?::Kingsley Stewart: Yeah.::Devon Berk: I wouldn't do a remake.::Kingsley Stewart: No, no, no, no. I know. Of course... but you didn't know. The original was under a different name. It was started, but never finished. Now, Freddy's found out that our producers know the history of this film and they have taken it upon themselves not to pass that information along to us. Purposefully. Of course, not me. I assume not to the two of you. True?::Nikki: No... absolutely. Nobody told me anything.::Devon Berk: No, me neither. I thought this was an original script.::Kingsley Stewart: Yeah... well... anyway, the film was never finished.::Nikki: I don't understand. Why wasn't it finished?::Kingsley Stewart: Well, after the characters have been filming for some time, they discovered something... something inside the story.::Devon Berk: Please. Kingsley.::Kingsley Stewart: The two leads were murdered! It was based on a Polish-Gypsy folk-tale. The title in German was "Vier-Sieben: 47". And it was said to be cursed. So it turned out to be.
Nikki: Hey! Look at me. And tell me if you've known me before.::Lanni: Yes. We will do that.
Nikki: I'm a whore. Where am I? I'm afraid!
Nikki: When the police came and they asked what happened, I told them "He's reaping what he's been sowing, that's what." They said "Fucker been sowing some pretty heavy shit."
Nikki: Bam! I Kicked him straight in the balls so hard they go crawling into his brain for refuge - he went down like a two dollar whore.
Plot
When wannabe L.A. filmmakers Jaye and Jason are accidentally hired to produce a travel show about Canada, they seize the opportunity and divert the money to make their dream project: a sci-fi epic entitled "Invasion Q." Along the way, they meet a young Canadian actress named Josée who falls for their Hollywood image and believes that this will be her big break. "Low Budget" documents the J's extraordinary journey across Canada, showing how stupidity can triumph over common sense every step of the way. Never has the world of independent films been portrayed with such honesty, artistic license and contradiction.

This is a film about an orchestra - an orchestra of forty-five musicians on the verge of a meltdown. Their conductor, a proud authoritarian, intends - like he always has - to rule over them with a demanding baton. The music must be played perfectly - at all costs. Some fear him. Some loathe him. Some love him. Tensions are high. On this night the conductor makes the mistake of pushing his musicians too far. On this night desperation takes hold of those who oppose him, forcing them to fight against the conductor - and the faithful musicians who support him - lest they be subjected forever to his severe methods. On this night, there are those in the orchestra who find the strength to mutiny.
IT'S WHERE IT'S AT... The action, the adventure, the excitement of a turned-on world that can't turn itself off!
Her name was Woman... Her other name was Excitement. She belonged to Hawaii's Kona Coast like the surf riders and the beach bums.
