A machine is a tool consisting of one or more parts that is constructed to achieve a particular goal. Machines are powered devices, usually mechanically, chemically, thermally or electrically powered, and are frequently motorized. Historically, a device required moving parts to classify as a machine; however, the advent of electronics technology has led to the development of devices without moving parts that are considered machines.
The word "machine" is derived from the Latin word machina, which in turn derives from the Doric Greek μαχανά (machana), Ionic Greek μηχανή (mechane) "contrivance, machine, engine" and that from μῆχος (mechos), "means, expedient, remedy". The meaning of machine is traced by the Oxford English Dictionary to an independently functioning structure and by Merriam-Webster Dictionary to something that has been constructed. This includes human design into the meaning of machine.
A simple machine is a device that simply transforms the direction or magnitude of a force, but a large number of more complex machines exist. Examples include vehicles, electronic systems, molecular machines, computers, television and radio.

David Howell Evans (born 8 August 1961), more widely known by his stage name The Edge (or just Edge), is a musician best known as the guitarist, backing vocalist, and keyboardist of the Irish rock band U2. A member of the group since its inception, he has recorded 12 studio albums with the band and has released one solo record. As a guitarist, The Edge has crafted a minimalistic and textural style of playing. His use of a rhythmic delay effect yields a distinctive ambient, chiming sound that has become a signature of U2's music.
The Edge was born in England to a Welsh family, but was raised in Ireland after moving there as an infant. In 1976, at Mount Temple Comprehensive School, he formed U2 with his fellow students and his older brother Dik. Inspired by the ethos of punk rock and its basic arrangements, the group began to write its own material. They eventually became one of the most popular acts in popular music, with successful albums such as 1987's The Joshua Tree and 1991's Achtung Baby. Over the years, The Edge has experimented with various guitar effects and introduced influences from several genres of music into his own style, including American roots music, industrial music, and alternative rock. With U2, The Edge has also played keyboards, co-produced their 1993 record Zooropa, and occasionally contributed lyrics. The Edge met his second and current wife, Morleigh Steinberg, through her collaborations with the band.
George Celino Barnes (July 18, 1895 – July 18, 1954), better known as "Machine Gun Kelly", was an American gangster during the prohibition era. His nickname came from his favorite weapon, a Thompson submachine gun. His most famous crime was the kidnapping of oil tycoon and businessman Charles Urschel in July 1933 for which he, and his gang, earned $200,000 ransom. Unfortunately, their victim had collected and left considerable evidence that assisted the subsequent FBI investigation that eventually led to Kelly's arrest in Memphis, Tennessee on September 26, 1933. His crimes also included bootlegging and armed robbery.
During the Prohibition era of the 1920s and 1930s Kelly worked as a bootlegger for himself as well as a colleague. After a short time, and several run-ins with the local Memphis police, he decided to leave town and head west with his girlfriend. To protect his family and escape law enforcement officers, he changed his name to George R. Kelly. He continued to commit smaller crimes and bootlegging. He was arrested in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for smuggling liquor onto an Indian Reservation in 1928 and sentenced for three years to Leavenworth Penitentiary, Kansas, beginning February 11, 1928. He was reportedly a model inmate and was released early. Shortly thereafter, Kelly married Kathryn Thorne, who purchased Kelly’s first machine gun and went to great lengths to familiarize his name in the underground crime circles. She was known to hand out the expended .45cal cartridge casings from his Tommy Gun as souvenirs. Some historians claim that Kathryn even went so far as to plot some small bank robberies.[citation needed]

Plot
Following the death of her parents, teen-aged Andie West is living with her mother's best friend, Sarah. Andie, who doesn't care about school, is trying to figure out where she fits in in life. The only thing she loves is dancing with her street crew, the 410, led by Tuck. The 410 are the most notorious of the street crews in Baltimore and are wanted by the police for their acts of vandalism and public mischief. Sarah threatens to send Andie to live with relatives in Texas unless she cleans up her act, which includes ending her association with the 410 and trying harder at school. Andie's neighborhood friend, Tyler Gage, convinces Andie to audition for entry into the Maryland School of the Arts (MSA), an institution which ended up turning his life around for the better. Andie passes the audition but isn't sure she fits in there. The school's director, Blake Collins, isn't sure she fits in there either. Blake is a brilliant dancer but looks for conformity to his way. After learning that Andie's absences from rehearsals are due to her new association with MSA, Tuck kicks her out of the 410. Chase Collins, a dance student at MSA, convinces Andie to start her own street dance crew using all the dance misfits from MSA i.e. those that don't conform to Blake's way of thinking. Chase feels like he's one of those misfits being Blake's brother and living in his shadow. This new association brings up a few conflicts within Andie, as her new dance crew tries to gain respect on the streets, especially among her old and judgmental friends, and as she and the crew try to hide the fact of what they're doing from Blake, who ultimately threatens expulsion from the school of anyone participating in the illegal street competitions.

It's not where you're from. It's where you're at.
[from trailer]::Chase Collins: She has more talent, more conviction than anyone else I know!
Andie: Look, the streets is about where you're from. It's not some school talent show. There's no spring floors. There's no spotlights to use what you got and... what makes you think you got it, huh?::Chase Collins: Aren't you late for something, Andie?::[Andie gets angry and turns around and leaves]::Chase Collins: [smiles] Bye Andie West!::[Andie turns around to see him]
Chase Collins: So that's it, huh?::Andie: [sighs] I guess so...
Jenny Kido: Oooo, he got da key!
Chase Collins: You're an amazing little dancer, you know that right?::Andie: Little?
Smiles: Yeah, they wanted me to fix my teeth.::Jenny Kido: I like you teeth!::Smiles: Thanks, I like your accent.::Jenny Kido: What accent?::Smiles: That accent you got... You have an accent.
Andie: I remember the first time I saw someone move like they were from another planet, I couldn't keep my eyes away. I was little mom took me to a jam session in the neighborhood, it started off small but word spread and soon some of the best dancers around were showing up to compete in something they eventually called the streets. It became home, I got a front row seat to history. I wanted to glide and spin and fly like they did, but it didn't come easy. My mom would tell me don't give up, just be you, because life's too short to be anybody else. She was right. When I was 16 my mom got sick and in a couple months she was gone. Everything changed, including the streets.
Jenny Kido: [to Andie] We don't want you!
Chase Collins: [to an distressed Andie] Good Morning Sunshine!
Chase Collins: They just hatin' on you cause you dope.

If you dance with the devil, the devil don't change, the devil changes you!
You can't prepare for where the truth will take you.
You are never prepared for the truth
Be careful when you kill a monster, that you don't become one yourself
Some doors should never be opened
[On selling porn]::Max California: I don't buy it. I don't endorse it. I just point the way.
[On Dino Velvet]::Max California: He's a producer-slash-director-slash weirdo. He's like the Jim Jarmusch of S & M.

[after Tom Welles has asked for his "assistance"]::Max California: I don't know exactly what you're looking for, but just for the record - I'm straight.::Tom Welles: Congratulations.
Max California: Can I interest you in a battery-operated vagina?::Tom Welles: No thank you.::Max California: Are you sure? I'd hate for you to be in one of those everyday situations that calls for a battery-operated vagina and not have one.
Tom Welles: What're you reading?::[Max California shows book - "Anal Secretary"]::Tom Welles: Catchy title. What are you really reading? Hard to believe that book's got any parts worth highlighting.::[Max California reveals real book - "In Cold Blood"]::Tom Welles: Capote!::Max California: Yeah, well. You know how it is.::Tom Welles: Yeah. Wouldn't want to embarrass yourself in front of your fellow perverts.::Max California: That's right. I might get drummed out of the Pornographer's Union. Where would I be then?
[On seeing a bogus snuff film]::Max California: Oh, wow. That's great! "Snuff 2: The Resurrection!" Well, what'd you expect for twelve hundred?
Max California: There's three rules in life: One, there's always a victim; two, don't be it.::Tom Welles: And three?::Max California: I forgot what three is.
Max California: [on the porn industry] All I'm saying is... it can get to you.::Tom Welles: No worries. Thanks for the warning, though.::Max California: You're welcome. Pops... If you dance with the devil, the devil don't change. The devil changes you.::Tom Welles: Some of your lyrics?::Max California: That's cute.
Eddie Poole: Who's that? [just before being brutally pistol whipped] No, don't!::Tom Welles: DIE! FUCKER DIE! DIE! [while pistol whipping Eddie and then shows his hand with blood]

When you speak the echoes chime
The voice is yours but the words are mine
All mine, all mine, all mine, all mine
I got a machine
And I took over the world
In one weekend
I took over the world
With my machine
I did it because I was looking for a project
And it was either take over the world
Or learn French
So I took over the world
And next weekend I can learn French
I got a machine
And I took over the world
But nothing changed
I got a machine
And I took over the world
But nothing changed
I could tell she was a hot rod when she walked in all alone
Made a pit stop at the front bar, in a puff of smoke was gone
I followed her smell of perfume, cause she was too far out of sight
Tried to catch up but the girl was running one hell of a race tonight
She's a real low maintenance, country music beat driven, honky-tonk dancin' machine
All it takes to keep her tuned up is boots and Wrangler jeans
She scoots about fifty times around the floor on one shot of Jim Beam
She's a real low maintenance, country music beat driven, honky-tonk dancin' machine
There's a guy on every corner, watching her make the bend
Hoping he'll be the next one to take her for a spin
She's not the kind that can be hot wired with money or romance
Got a body for pleasure, but all she wants to do is dance
She's a real low maintenance, country music beat driven, honky-tonk dancin' machine
All it takes to keep her tuned up is boots and Wrangler jeans
She scoots about fifty times around the floor on one shot of Jim Beam

Rising above tension below
Learn from the in-between
Blinded by trust, asleep to the truth
Awakened by disbelief
Somewhere I found strength in my soul
Still you refuse to see
Are you sure I'm not all right?
'Cause lately I've been feeling fine!
Every lifeline leads its own way to the heavens
But I have seen you run in circles, unforgiven
Is there anything in this world that can make you stop?!
Oh, you're a machine!
A world of your own
Hollow inside
Careful when worlds collide
I'm filling my life
With all it can hold
Carry it on with pride
Are you sure I'm not all right?
Cause lately I've been feeling fine!
Every lifeline leads its own way to the heavens
But I have seen you run in circles, unforgiven
Is there anything in this world that can make you stop?!
Oh, you're a machine!
The sun's still above
All the rain that's coming down
And I can feel the clouds drifting away
And now the sky is open wide!
Turn the light on, you will see things
So much clearer
Ohh, but there's no heart
Oh, there's no heart, and I've spent all this time feeling
Something you can't feel at all!
You're a machine!
Frustration, Hesitation
Hand in a fist gives you dislocation
Become a soldier kill your coach-ah
Slits on your wrist good dog, roll over
Cuz the machine must go!
I'm gonna gonna gonna cleanse my soul
I'm gonna gonna let the whole world know
I'm never ever gonna wait in line
waste my time
The machine must go
Here's my finger
Fuck you!
Here’s my finger
No question
Home religion
Grown through the swine
Summertime prediction
When you’re ready,
Go steady
Funnel the meek
Come on and get me
Cuz the machine must go!
I'm gonna gonna gonna cleanse my soul
I'm gonna gonna let the whole world know
I'm never ever gonna wait in line
waste my time
The machine must go
Fuck you!
Machine must go, machine must go
Cuz the machine must go!
I'm gonna gonna gonna cleanse my soul
I'm gonna gonna let the whole world know
I'm never ever gonna wait in line

The machine must-
I'm gonna gonna gonna cleanse my soul
I'm gonna gonna let the whole world know
I'm never ever gonna wait in line
waste my time
My eyes are bifocal, my hands are sub jointed
I live in the future in my pre-war apartment
And I count all my blessings, I have friends in high places
And I'm upgraded daily, all my wires without traces
Hooked into machine, hooked into machine
Hooked into machine, I'm hooked into, hooked into
Hooked into machine, hooked into machine
Hooked into machine, I'm hooked into, hooked into machine
I collect my moments into a correspondence
With a mightier power who just lacks my perspectives
And who lacks my organics and who covets my defects
And I'm downloaded daily, I am part of a composite
Hooked into machine, hooked into machine
Hooked into machine, I'm hooked into, hooked into
Hooked into machine, hooked into machine
Hooked into machine, I'm hooked into, hooked into machine
Everything's provided, consummate consumer
Part of worldly taking, apart from worldly troubles
Living in your pre-war apartment, soon to be your post-war apartment
And you live in the future and the future, it's here, it's bright, it's now
Machine
Look up here
Look down there
I am the new man
I'm tangled in wires
Chipset adept
Memory load
Keep your vogue code that all have
Tomorrow's world we've all seen
Keep your modern ways
And keep your bugs
The Metal Man is here to stay
Talk talk
You say I only work, all night and day
Talk talk
Do say 'Use me, I'm cheap to rent'
Computerised
Voice synthesised
Call me the mech man
In a world of machines
What can I do but to serve
Store the data and calculate
Speak and spell and operate
Engineer the rail and motorway
Automaton of yesterday
Talk talk
You say I only work, all night and day
Talk talk
I see your bleeding dark side
I feel your angry heart
Reveals forbidden places
More monster yet alive
No faith
Changing into something less than human
No longer part of this
The influence
Changing into something less than human
No longer part of this machine
No mind
Changing into something less than human
No longer part of this machine
It's chemical
Changing into something less than human
No longer part of this machine
Get into my hidden demon
Get out of my swollen head
Shines down on blackened faces

Can't watch with mechanical eyes
I said ay-oh
You light a match, can't see in the dark
I said oh-no
Don't even laugh as you fight to survive
I said ay-oh
One at a time, save your life
ay-oh-oh
Backfire
Shut your mouth you've got nothing to say
Backfire
You can break Your back get fucked up, feel the heat
Can't stomp me out
I'm throwing daggers from my mouth
I don't get tired
You can't tie me up or slow me down
You can't stop me now
I am a machine
I step quick while you're falling behind
I said ay-oh
I watch you dig, bury yourself alive
I said oh-no
I brought a gun but my gun is a knife
I said ay-oh
One at a time, save your life
ay-oh-oh
Backfire
Shut your mouth you've got nothing to say
Backfire
You can break Your back get fucked up, feel the heat
Can't stomp me out
I'm throwing daggers from my mouth
I don't get tired
You can't tie me up or slow me down
You can't stop me now
I am a machine
I am a machine
I am a machine (louder and louder)
I am a machine
I am a machine
I am a machine
I am a machine
You know I need so much more
More than I gave before
When metal replaces bone
The future is now, it's what you own
It's not enough to save yourself
You better think of something else
It's not exactly what I've become
But we know it's nothing that you have done
Ah-ah-ah-ah
Backfire
Shut your mouth you've got nothing to say
Backfire
You can break Your back get fucked up, feel the heat
Can't stomp me out
I'm throwing daggers from my mouth
I don't get tired
You can't tie me up or slow me down
You can't stop me now
I am a machine
I am a machine
I am a machine (louder and louder)
I am a machine
I am a machine
I am a machine
I can buy Rebecca no new ribbons we can't take no Sunday walks
The kids would cry for icecream and I'd be broke cause I've been laid off
All I know is Kentucky coal mines but they've got that new machine
And it does my job and does it better and it don't knock off for bread and beans
A machine can work all day and night and its back don't ever ache
It's got no kids that want no a tater no wife to wish for a steak
So it don't make a company man a beggin' for a nickel raise
That machine's a perfect miner fateful John has been replaced
I've spent years and years in tunnels and I fought Satan over coal
I stole this fuel for making brown stones when I left this fire was low
But mighty deeds don't matter here where Mr Coal is king
He'll lay me off next Friday night then hire that new machine
That machine can work all day and night and it's never got a gripe
It won't cuss and call the union hall or advocate the strike
Cause it don't care if water fountains don't run cold and clean
So they don't want me because I'm human they just want that new machine
I'd like to get my hands on some of them new machines
Wasteful season take my hand
Take the place of the snakes who ran
Savage things wash over me
A crime that leaves a heated greed
Oh Machine, Machine
I washed it for you
Machine, Machine
I waste it for you
And I walk
And I walk
A space left for two
And I wait
And I wait
To wake next to you
And I walk
And I walk
A space left for two
And I wait
And I wait
To wake next to you
Oh Machine, Machine
I waste it for you
Machine, Machine
I waste it for you
HAH!
Oh Machine, Machine
Im not a machine x3
won't work
im not a machine
Machine! (x4)
You push
Right to my head
I'm not a machine
Can't work for you
I hope so
Get me from myself
The rules
Machine
I'm not a machine
I hope
I'm not a machine
Spindles turn in the rooms,
Engines roar to the tune,
Stoke the fire - overkill
Turning cycle - it's overdue
Time's running out
Running so fast
The pressure is on
We're on overdrive
Wheels seize to a halt
Labour silent to no groove
Suckon pulls me - override
Inside out - on overdrive
World machine - engines burn
Fuel diseased - take me back
World machine - engines dead
Can't you see.
Silence falls in the womb
Mechanical soil starts to move
Quench the fire - overuse
There's no pity - there's no use
Tears run to the soil
Blood entwines to be one
Stoke the fire - it's overdue
Suckin' up, suckin' up to hypocrites
Sums up my days
Movin' up, backin' up
I'm like a monkey in a maze
I think a lot but then I don't remember anything
Nobody hears
And I don't even know how I got here
Here in this gray abys
Does anybody really have a chance
Refrain:
I am just a volunteer
I am not an entity
And it amazes me to tears
Alone in your machine
I'm not some faceless pawn
That you can tread upon(3rd chorus: trample on)
No more tears, alone in your machine
Cleanin' up, pickin' up your messes
Is how I survive
You pull the lever to get me started
You keep me running till I don't remember anything
'Cause I am expandable
I'm sick of livin' like today's tomorrow
And I wanna step outside
Right into never never land
Pulled by strings, you won't chose my fate.
I'm losing faith in everything I know.
Let me breathe, let me see, let me be who I want to be.
Every word makes up a lie I've heard before.
Just another picture for the frame.
I try to tell you why, but what's to gain?
Well I don't want to be owned by you
Yeah
Oh no he's looking for the answers
Should I be scared of what they'll be?
There [?] pages
But I'm not sure what they mean
You're holding and I held on to [?]
This is not so good for me
To tell the truth I'm getting tired
Of what you say I should be
Just another trophy for the case
I thought that everything will be okay
I don't want to be owned by you
You got me under control and there's no breaking through
Well I don't want to be owned by you
I think I finally know and now I cut the loose [?]
Making my pain I'm gonna get this all day [?]
Making my vein cut the run [?] break the chains
I'm getting out before it's too late
It's about time that you know
I will never be owned by you
You had me under control and now I'm breaking through
Well I will never be owned by you
And now I finally know it's time to come lose [?]
I will never be owned
I will never be owned
I will never be owned
Take another look at yourself
Tell me what do you see x2
Yours souls reflection
Is it what it used to be
Take another look at yourself
Tell me what do you see
Answers revolve around our heads
Like figures of our imagination
Measures are taken to purge pleasure and take life in as pain
This is bigger than you and me x2
Alarms as you wake from his dream
Human fellowship is sacred
This is bigger than you and me
Take another look at yourself and
Tell me what do you see x2
Yours souls reflection
Is it what it used to be
Take another look at yourself and
Tell me what do you see
As we move along waiting here
Our days repeat and increase
Your default setting
Runs your life secretly
Which direction are you heading
Escape the pressure
This is bigger than you and me
Alarms as you wake from his dream
Human fellowship is sacred
Cuz this is bigger than you and me
Alarms as you wake from his dream
Human fellowship is sacred
Cuz this is bigger than you and me
Separate yourself from the machine
Embrace your own identity x2
Escape the pressure
Take another look at yourself and
Tell me what do you see x2
Yours souls reflection
Is it what it used to be
Take another look at yourself and
Tell me what do you see
Yours souls reflection
Is it what it used to be
Yours souls reflection
Is it what it used to be
Trying so hard to get in
Doing your best to belong
Promise all you ever wanted
But you can't afford the lost
Be a member, do or die
Join the club, but I see through your disguise
Hoping at last I'll find you
Wondering what's deep inside
Never show your inner beauty
Or the soul behind your eyes
Be a member, do or die
Join the club, but I see through your disguise
All that you love is money
You'll find it takes more to survive
You can't buy what's most important
Has the child within you died?
Be a member, do or die
Join the club, but I see through your disguise
I see through your disguise
I'm not a machine...
Tell me can I live my life
Doing what I feel is right
I don't need you to hold my hand
The last time I checked I was a grown man
I got my own opinion and I know what's best for me
I do what I want when I want and that's how it's gotta be
I'm not a machine no you can't control me
Don't just think you can turn me on and off as you please
I'm not a machine you're making me overheat
Love me for who I am not who you want me to be
I'm not a machine
Tell me can I do my thing
Without you calling my name
Asking me where I'm going, where I've been
When I'm leaving, why I came
Can't chose my own clothes go where I wanna go
I'm not a toy for you to command I'm not under your control
Girl why can't we just live equally oh girl it would be so nice
Instead of you giving an attitude and trying to run my life
I'm not a machine no you can't control me
Don't just think you can turn me on and off as you please
I'm not a machine you're making me overheat
Love me for who I am not who you want me to be
I'm not a machine
Oh...yeah...
I'm not a machine, oh....
Yeah
I'm not a machine no you can't control me
Don't just think you can turn me on and off as you please
I'm not a machine you're making me overheat (whoa)
Love me for who I am not who you want me to be (want me to be)
I'm not a machine
I'm not a machine no you can't control me
Don't just think you can turn me on and off as you please
I'm not a machine you're making me overheat
Love me for who I am not who you want me to be
I'm not a machine
I'm not a machine
Looking around, everything I see
It seems to lose its color
Don't know what's become of me
Barely alive, how did I survive
One day just like the other
I'm sick of this routine
So I'm gonna cut these strings
Cut them and set me free
Nothing controlling me
I'm not a machine, I'm not a machine
I've got the breath in me
I'm not a machine, I'm not a machine
I'm not a machine, I'm not a machine
My body is here but somewhere along the way
I lost my mind
It's never too late to be found
Waiting on someone to pick me up
But I got left behind
But it won't bring me down
Cause I'm gonna cut these strings
Cut them and set me free
Nothing controlling me
I'm not a machine, I'm not a machine
I've got the breath in me
I'm not a machine, I'm not a machine
I'm not a machine, I'm not a machine
Change the circumstance
It's gonna take me
Here is my memory
Reset the way you think
No more commands
Mo demands
No more losing control
No pushing buttons
No automatic no more
Let me go
Let me go
Let me go
No pushing buttons, no automatic
I'm not a machine, I'm not a machine
I've got the breath in me
Why won’t you listen to me
Cause I can’t figure it out
Wanting more unless you’re tied
You never listen to me
Therefore you and I
Decide to stay or divide
Why can’t we reset
Too much to forget
Just because you don’t feel lonely
Forget feelings
Empty T.V. screens gently bleeding
When it wants it you just let it always still
Too much to say
Cannot leave you alone
Cannot leave you here this way
Why can’t we reset
Too much to forget
Did I leave you alone
No more listening
There’s so many more
I’m just scared I don’t wanna hear it
I’m tired, I wanna delete it more
No more
Why should I stay
Machine
No more listening
No more
No more keeping clean
Now go away
I’ll never
I thought you wanted me to stay
Why can’t we reset
Too much to forget
Did I leave you alone
No more listening
There’s so many more
I’m just scared I don’t wanna hear it
I’m tired, I wanna delete it more
No more
Why should I stay
Machine
No more
It was the fear of God that led me to you
And it's the fear of you that takes getting used to
I've never been one to hang my heart on a thread
But you spun me around and you loved me instead
I know I could turn to something other than you
'Cause I don't understand you and why you're after me
I've never been the saint you wanted me to turn to
And I can't see the view from the eyes you look at me through, oh no
But I'm alright, I'm alright, I'm alright, I'm alright
I'm alright, I'm alright, I'm alright
So cut below the surface and try hard not to notice
That I could be so foolish thinkin' I'm alright
I've got no one to hold me, I've got no one to carry
Everything inside of me that I won't let you see
you - complain of breathing you cant wait to die you - just wait just wait to
suffocate
you dont you - dont have to wait have to wait return - burn the fucking world
the chip in my mind summons me i gave my life to your machines were conquering
Welcome to your endtime-war
This is not a dream
A nameless traveler
Appears naked on the scene
Human flesh and scanning eyes
The only vivid trace
Steel as bones inside
A machine behind it's face
Artificial eyes – artificial breath
Travelling through time – artificial death
Machine – running through the fire
Machine – running through the fire
Not a thought inside it's head
Nor a sentiment
Only bits and bytes
A machine cannot repent
The leader of the underground
Will be given birth
By S.C., [so] she must be found
And dragged away from earth
Artificial eyes...
Target better hide
He's always on the hunt
T-800 knows no sleep
And Arnie did the stunts
I can't seem to get out
I can't seem to break loose
Can't disconnect from this machine
I cannot move, I cannot see
This time it's even worse then before
Too many lights and not enough to destroy
Did I get a moment?
A split second in time
I'm just a minor malfunction easily replaced by others.
My life’s a bomb, and held in your hands
It’s time for me to go
Throw me in the water, and I’ll explode
I’ll become the water to sink their boat
I know, it’s time its time, it’s time it’s time, it’s for me to go
And we are, everything we used to be
Now here and I am, everything we used to know
Dead I am right ahead, now up
In the sky we float like (can you see me now, up in the clouds?)
Angels now, so beautiful, just don’t look down.
Angels now, so beautiful, just don’t look down.
Angels now, so beautiful, just don’t look down.
Angels now, so beautiful, (in the sky in the sky), just don’t look down.
My life’s a bomb.
(Verse 1)
The secret is out,
It's time to come clean
The secret is out,
It's a broken machine
The face in the mask,
It's a tragedy
The secret is out,
It's a broken machine
(Chorus)
When the lights are turned down
they will follow you, follow you
When the curtains are closed
they will follow you, follow you
When the lights are turned down
they will follow you, follow you
When the curtains are closed
they will follow you, follow you
(Verse 2)
The line has been drawn,
theres no turning back
The line has been drawn,
it's a secret attack
Don't dance with a monster if you have the chance
The line has been drawn,
it's a secret attack.
(Chorus)
When the lights are turned down
they will follow you, follow you
When the curtains are closed
they will follow you, follow you
When the lights are turned down
they will follow you, follow you
When the curtains are closed
they will follow you, follow you
(Bridge)
There's a lock on the front door,
and a way out the back,
I think I'll stare at the monster,
'til the monster attacks
I see the black skies are coming down,
and the children are scared,
I think I'll break the machine while the city's asleep.
(Chorus)
When the lights are turned down
they will follow you, follow you
When the curtains are closed
they will follow you, follow you
When the lights are turned down
they will follow you, follow you
When the curtains are closed
I am your war machine
Yes I am your ghetto scene
But I am your love of money
Cause' I found me a little honey
Blind to love, but hip to lust
He's hip to gold, but blind to rust
He left the soldiers lying dead, Man
For my baby
I'm working for the machine, Yeah
Working for machine
I'm working for the machine, Baby
Working for machine
I am a robotic clone
Don't ever leave me all alone
Yes I am the dangerous boy
Cause I bought me a little toy
He's blind to love, but hip to lust
He's hip to gold, but blind to rust
He left the soldiers lying dead man
C'mon baby,i'm working for the machine
Working for machine
I'm working for the machine, Baby
Working for machine
His children are a death reflection
They're headed in the same direction
Transistor brains and plastic souls
I tell you baby, they working for the machine
Working for the machine
They working for the machine
Working for the machine
You working for the machine baby
Working for the machine
I'm working for the machine
Walking onwards through my life
Bitter, grim smile upon my face
Climbing up while I'm sinking down
Still never gaining ground
Step by step, inch by inch
Pressing forwards, fighting on
Deafened by the roaring wind
Brought back from walk to crawl
Striving to display my worth
Live the dream, I've been told
Glory is within my reach
Lust and greed, I'm unbound
Shackled down into my chair
Transparent walls are caving in
Keep on running, there's no time
No time to look behind
Like a drone I turn this wheel
Outstanding results: faster, more
Exalted part of winning team
Improve before you fall
I'm tired to display my worth
Live your dreams like you told
Always staying out of reach
Too much speed, crashing down
Reaching towards the burning sun
Ashes in ground
I'm falling away but wheels still turn
Spare parts eager to fix the machine
They will be tomorrow
No fight! No fight for no one!
Slaves of machines, already too late
A.I. will take our breath
We cannot disconnect anymore
Metal machines have locked our gates
They will lead our hearts more and more
Subtilite artificielle
Psaumes electriques changeront la foi
Bien plus qu'une etincelle
Machines a tuer souffleront nos Lois!
As we created them they are
Nothing less, nothing more
Why can't I see you?
You took me to a place that wasn't safe for me and you
We saw the milky way at night
You put up a fight
With me
Now we're leaving
What happened to the Monday nights?
We would fall asleep at three
I think that we could be the same
I think I'm insane
My brain is telling me
I'm a machine
Machine
Machine
My friend's got a forty with his fifty on
Said the world's gonna end but I think he's wrong
I know it's true
The things I do
For you
And me
Now we're leaving
Machine
Machine
Machine
Machine
Machine
Machine
Machine
Maybe we will starve and dive
Away from here, away from here
Swinging crazily like a stock exchange
We will still have our feet, we will still have our eyes
Can't buy these impulses from a machine
Nourishment is temporary
Finding security
We'll be playing in daytime in wintertime
In arctic swing
And landscapes will freeze us over
We'll be fine, we'll be fine
Flinging ice and snow like little kids
We will still have our hair, we will still have our skin
Can't buy these impulses from a machine
Nourishment is temporary
Finding security
We'll be playing in daytime in wintertime
In arctic swing
Maybe we will starve and dive
If you don't hurt me then I won't hurt you.
I'm a machine, I got feelings too.
Since we said goodbye, it's all seemed blue.
Assimilate and fall in line
Or live your life a stereotype
Swallow your pride just to survive
Fight the standards or lay down and die
This is your life
In the machine
You give it blood
You make it breathe
There's no way out, no end in sight
Embrace your fate or wallow in strife
This depression is real, it is not a disease
You can die on your feet or live on your knees
This is your life
In the machine
You give it blood
You make it breathe
Living life in chains you're as good as dead
Accepting these ideas that they crammed in your head
Question everything and question yourself
You can't trust a soul in this manmade hell
This is your life
In the machine
You give it blood
Tying thoughts straight around your tongue
Celebrate in the heart song
Hope stream the swim nose bleeds
Foreseen your life's a street
Run more, dance your back
The most on... off that stops
No luck... the stars
Mantra, to seek the sparks
The cut, the book of...
Don't cleanse your morning light
At last turned this old...
The clouds are the wrong way now
The turned is one I held
The clouds are wrong way now.
Carlos and Carmen Vidal just had a child
A lovely girl with a crooked smile
Now they gotta split 'cause the Bronx ain't fit
For a kid to grow up in
Let's find a place they say, somewhere far away
With no blacks, no Jews and no gays
Chorus:
There but for the grace of God go I
Poppy and the family left the dirty streets
To find a quiet place overseas
And year after year the kid has to hear
The do's the don'ts and the dears
And when she's ten years old she digs that rock 'n' roll
But Poppy bans it from home
Chorus
Baby, she turns out to be a natural freak
Popping pills and smoking weed
And when she's sweet sixteen she packs her things and leaves
With a man she met on the street
Carmen starts to bawl, bangs her head to the wall
Too much love is worse than none at all
Chorus
Can't believe you would do this to me.
Can't you see that you've lied and deceived?
I believed you and now all I see
my disease in my dreams is your face when he holds you and wants you. Fuck you.
Wish there was something I could do to help you
I'll tear the black from your heart and betray you
Wish there was something I could do to help you
I'll burn a cross on your skin just to leave you.
Do you feel? Do you see? Do you want me to be a machine? Did I crawl?
Did I make you feel small? Did I lie?
Did I hide? Did I make you defy?
Welcome to the lines
Of the meat production chain
Meat survival's down
Plague death from the disease
Still the meat procreates
Adds bodies to the flames
Lifesex it hungers on
Too hungry for release
This serpent devours Eden
Hormonal venom relief
Meat production relentless
Virgin survival instinct
The last porno hero Adam
And anorexic sister Eve
And the serpent it fucks on
Like an erect man-made machine
I will survive
Lifeblood contradiction
Death's found a way into your veins
Our very nature sanitizes
Genocidal clean
Carnivorous immortal urges
Grinding gears, oil stained
Meat is now the serpent
And man is still machine
Final carnal conviction
Future sentence restrained
Killer/victim made you cum
And join the new food chain
Death instantaneous
But it makes you suffer through the race
Find faith until your power's gone
Ten new machines in your place
Instigate and animate and annotate and masturbate
Your machines
Integrate and resonate and fornicate and
Breathe into your machines
The colorful wings of a butterfly
That smacks on your computer screen
The way you put your hands
On the keys of your machine
You save your beliefs in your machine X2
I know the higher sense
That you feel when you're plugged in
I know the higher brain
In the guts of your machine
You sa-ave all your face in your machine
Your machine
Irate, cogitate, agitate
Interface your machine
The powerful light that radiates
From the screen of your machine
The way you're mesmerized
By the speed of your machine
You save all the work of your machine
You sa-ave all your thoughts in your machine
I know the higher waves
That you feel with your machine
I know the joy you feel
When you're mind is a machine
Your machine X2
Calculator, emulator, agitator,
Integrator, inhalator, incubator
I know the higher waves
That you feel with your machine
I know the joy you feel
When you're mind is a machine
You save yourself in your machine
You are the same as your machine
You're machine X2
Time's up
Our thoughts are changing
Is your world
My world
Their worlds too
I have
I have my
Own life
And with yours
I have
No words
**Chorus**
I'm a Machine, You're a Machine
I'm tired of being Machine
Damn Machines,
You're a Machine, I'm a Machine
I'm tired of being
A damn Machine
I can't
Feel the
Emotion
So deep
So empty
Inside
Your numb
So Far
I'm Too
De la dee
Dee dum
Dee Doo
**Chorus**
I'm a Machine, You're a Machine
I'm tired of being Machine
Damn Machines,
You're a Machine, I'm a Machine
I'm tired of being
A damn Machine
Have you ever
Been so used
And abused
So confused
Such confused
**Repeat with Chorus till fade**
I'm a Machine, You're a Machine
I'm tired of being Machine
Damn Machines,
You're a Machine, I'm a Machine
I'm tired of being
In every single part
my body's poisoned by
your onerous presence
and the words you're spitting out
they fall on the ground
and nothing will grow there
ever again.
I dont wanna
but I will
stay with you.
Come over
jump off your tree
I sit and wait for you
you're a little monkey
that ate too much
forsaken fruits.
Your perception's wrong
nothing touches you anymore.
I dont wanna
but I will
stay with you.
Fly birdie, fly
Fly birdie, fly
There is no truth.
Fly birdie, fly!
I am so afraid
that I might fall off the earth.
You lost gravity,
but I will keep hold.
The rope's stretched tightly
it is cutting into my flesh
it doesn't hurt at all
I dont wanna
but I will
stay with you.
The time has come.
Let's try to balance on the roofs.
The city's shaking,
streetlights are turning red.
We believe in nothing,
our rage erupts into
brightest lightnings.
All I want:
is to stay with you.
Fly birdie, fly
Fly birdie, fly
There is no truth.
Thunder - hits the sky
Crashin - to the ground
Run to the gates
You're the chosen one
Engines rumble - in the dead of night
Slowly walkin' - it's a dark
Lonely crawl
Passin' a life time - left on a wall
Runnin - through the night
Trying - not to fight
Pull now - Together
(We can't give up)
Scream out - for your sins
(Ya gotta try)
Place in your mind,
You gotta believe
Run with the pack, don't look back
Out in the night, nowhere in sight
Press in now, to machine
What can this be
For all you to see
The fear will numb
(Fortis

I am the machine
Without faults
Without mistakes
You don't have to think anymore
All is taken care of
Make a mistake
And I will correct it
Just this once
I'm the machine
I'm the machine
I'm the machine
Or so it seems
You created me
You gave me life
I should be thankful
I should be your slave
But I don't need you
I'm not dependant
You can't undo me
I am superior
I'm the machine
I'm the machine
Or so it seems
I'm the machine
I'm the machine
I'm the machine
The perfect thing
I'm the machine
