In 2007, the internationally renowned artist Stefan Szczesny presented the island Mainau project to the public. The famous Mainau Island in the Lake Constance as a work of art - this personal life dream fulfilled Stefan Szczesny in the year of 2007. As part of an incomparable overall installation by the artist, who once made a name for himself as one of the so called "junge Wilde”, the flower island turned into a wonderful Art Park: The installation consisted of 50 shadow sculptures - 3 meters high female figures made of black steel , 400 ceramic works and giant flower paintings, for which half a million bulbs were planted.
