Matthew Arkin's short film of his remarkable transformation into Charlie, the 600 lb. central character in Sam Hunter's THE WHALE - South Coast Repertory, 2013; music by Michael Roth - adapted and expanded from his score for the production - all variations on a pattern over one chord essentially, featuring, as ever, guitarist Peter Sprague. Matthew's actual preparation (make-up, prosthetic, and getting into costume) took about an hour, he sped up the film to show the job in just under 8 minutes - music composed for the production, including the final piano hymn - all rearranged and remixed for this short film..
