Robert Michael Nesmith (born December 30, 1942) is an American musician, songwriter, actor, producer, novelist, businessman, and philanthropist, best known as a member of the musical group The Monkees and star of the TV series of the same name. Nesmith is notable as a songwriter, including "Different Drum" sung by Linda Ronstadt with the Stone Poneys, and as executive producer of the cult film Repo Man. In 1981, Nesmith won the first Grammy Award given for Video of the Year for his hour-long Elephant Parts.
Nesmith was born at St. Joseph's Hospital in Houston, in 1942. He was an only child; his parents, Warren Audrey Nesmith and Bette Nesmith Graham, divorced when their son was four. He and his mother moved to Dallas, to be closer to her parents, sister, aunts and grandmother. Bette took temporary jobs ranging from clerical work to graphics design, and developed very good secretarial skills, including shorthand, and, auspiciously, touch typing. When Nesmith was 13 his mother invented a typewriter correction fluid later known commercially as Liquid Paper. Over the next 25 years she built the Liquid Paper Corporation into a multimillion dollar international company which she finally sold to Gillette in 1980 for US$48 million. She died a few months later at age 56.
David Michael Letterman (born April 12, 1947) is an American television host and comedian. He hosts the late night television talk show, Late Show with David Letterman, broadcast on CBS. Letterman has been a fixture on late night television since the 1982 debut of Late Night with David Letterman on NBC. Letterman recently surpassed friend and mentor Johnny Carson for having the longest late-night hosting career in the United States of America.
Letterman is also a television and film producer. His company Worldwide Pants produces his show as well as its network follow-up The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Worldwide Pants has also produced several prime-time comedies, the most successful of which was Everybody Loves Raymond, currently in syndication.
In 1996, David Letterman was ranked #45 on TV Guide's 50 Greatest TV Stars of All Time.
Letterman was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. His father, Harry Joseph Letterman (April 1915 – February 1973), was a florist of British descent; his mother Dorothy Letterman (née Hofert, now Dorothy Mengering), a Presbyterian church secretary of German descent, is an occasional figure on the show, usually at holidays and birthdays.
I was overland touring in my new Ferrari
At just about a hundred and ten
I was on my way home from a sophisticated party
Where I got a little drunk on gin
And as the headlights cast a glow on the road
I heard a voice inside of me
It said, "You lost the light
And now you're moving through the night
Running from the grand ennui
Running from the grand ennui"
Well, I reached in my pocket and I pulled out the Omega
That was never one second behind
I knew the horse that I was running at the Southern Talladega
Had won for the twenty-second time
And then the countess I was with bent over with a kiss
And put a jeweled hand on my knee
I knew I'd lost the light
And I was moving through the night
Running from the grand ennui
Running from the grand ennui
Well that night passed in a blaze of glory
With the countess and the car both mine
And each day passes with the same old story
But the countess has a brand new line
Yet still at night I am haunted by the fright
And distant memory
Of the day I lost the light
Moving through the night
Running from the grand ennui
Here come the mountains
Here comes the sunrise
Here come the deserts
My, what a sight
Open the doorway
Open the window
Open the transom
Let in the light
Looking below me
Lifting my feet up
Into the canyons
Whitewater runs
There is the cliff side
There is the prairie
There is the sagebrush
The heat of the sun
Rising, rising, rising up again
I'm in love again, I'm in love
It flows from my eyes
Rising, rising, rising up again
I'm in love again, I'm in love
Delight and surprised
Now I'm in Paris
Beautiful streetlamps
Beautiful subways
Beautiful light
Open the doorway
Open the window
Open the transom
Let in the sights
Something amazing
Something specific
Something terrific
Into my mind
The city, the landscape
The absolute handshakes
The ocean, the wind shapes
Something sublime
Rising, rising, rising up again
I'm in love again, I'm in love
It flows from my eyes
Rising, rising, rising up again
I'm in love again, I'm in love
Delight and surprise
Rising, rising, rising up again
I'm in love again, I'm in love
It flows from my eyes
Rising, rising, rising up again
I'm in love again, I'm in love
Delight and surprise
Something amazing
Something specific
Something terrific
Into my mind
The city, the landscapes
The absolute handshakes
The ocean, the wind shapes

Something sublime

This night is magic
I can tell by the stars
This night is magic
With you in my arms
It would be tragic
If we ever part
Tonight is magic for love
You know I love you
Look in my eyes
You know I love you
It's paradise
For me to love you
And drift through the skies
The skies of magic and love
If you believe, it will always come true
That's the magic of love
I keep believing I'll always have you
That's the magic of trust
This love is magic
I feel it inside
This love is magic
There's nothing to hide
Our life is magic
We'll stay side by side
And feel the magic of love
This night is magic
I can tell by the stars
This night is magic
With you in my arms
It would be tragic
If we ever part
Tonight is magic for love
This night is magic
You know it's magic
Oh my lonely world
Only world I see
Oh my wilting world
Tilting world and me
Clinging to a vine of promises
Grown from her nobility
When she and her gentle hand
Were only bound to me
She was only bound
Only bound to me
I was always around
Crawling around on my knees
Tales of time
Slowly set me free
Paths unwind
In lonely harmony
Now I'm holding hands
Folding hands to see
Waving hazy plans
Drifting sands and me
Clinging to a vine of promises
Grown from her nobility
When she and her gentle hand
Were only bound to me
When she and her gentle hand
Were only bound to me
She was the only world
You and me in the arms of the twilight on the trail
Making camp along the way
You and me in the arms of the twilight on the trail
At rest at the end of the day
The stars overhead
With their message unsaid
The glow from the fire in our eyes
The wind through the trees
A warm southern breeze
The Earth is embraced by the skies
You and me in the arms of the twilight on the trail
On the trail to paradise
The night gathers in
We lazily spin
On an ocean of peaceful dreams
The great Northern light
In unbridled delight
Dances the dance of kings
You and me in the arms of the twilight on the trail
On the trail to paradise
Just one more time the reasons why you must leave
Tell me once more why you're sure you don't need me
Tell me again but, don't think that you'll convince me
Now you've said
Before falling in love again you'd rather be dead
'Cause when someone breaks your heart, you cry your eyes red
But there's nothing so hard about the life that you've led
As far as I can see
There's no reason for goodbyes
You're just running scared
And that's something I won't buy
So you lose
I won't let you go with nothing to show but more blues
And all this talk about leaving is strictly bad news
So you settle down and stay with the man that loves you
So you lose
I won't let you go with nothing to show but more blues
And all this talk about leaving is strictly bad news
So you settle down and stay with the man that loves you
Yes, you settle down and stay with the man that loves you
Slowly into winter goes the ash of life
Wholly independent windows framing time
Downward drops the ridiculing eye so blind
Love has conquered once again uneven rhyme
Marie, my sweet Marie
Here I am
Holding on to moments meant for each to share
Grasping at the veils as they began to tear
Wearily the healing comes to lift the care
Opening your hand and finding mine still there
Marie, my sweet Marie
Here I am
Letting go of a rusty old beginning
Turning to the sun
Easily I give you now the thoughts I can
Gentle reassurance from a gentle man
Toppling the barrier that spoiled the view
Let me offer what I've taken back to you
Marie, my sweet Marie
Here I am
There's a certain something in the way
You looked at me and said you'd stay
That let me know that I was out of line
But I didn't know what else to do
And like a fool I tested you
By demanding things of you which weren't mine
And now I feel like such a fool
For making you crawl back to me
But you did it with such love
That you're standing far above
Me and all I did to you
I'm sorry now, what can I do?
I know that never in the world
Could I have found me such a girl
Who's there to pick me up before I fall
So if in the end we should go
Both our separate ways
I've known for a long time, the kind of girl you are,
Of the smile that covers teardrops the way your head yields to your
heart,
Of things you've kept inside that most girls couldn't bear,
I've known you for a long time but I've just begun to care.
I've known of all the heartache and I've known of all the pain,
'Cause I've seen you when the sun shines and I've seen you when it
rains,
I've seen you make a look of love from just an icy stare,
I've known you for a long time but I've just begun to care.
I know I've been blind
To not have loved you all this time,
But the image of you wasn't clear,
I guess that I've been standing too near.
Oh, it's taken me a while, but I have finally found
What you are to me and that's what really counts,
And what you are to me is something we can share,
I've known you for a long time but I've just begun to care.
SOLO
I guess that I've been standing too near.
Oh, it's taken me a while, but I have finally found
What you are to me and that's what really counts,
And what you are to me is something we both share,
I've known you for a long time but I've just begun to care,
Please don't let fear hold back the tears
If you feel that's the way that it need be
Walking down halls with echoing walls
The past looming small with new feelings
Time's on your side, your conscience was guide
And he's gone but perhaps it's for the better
For the stand that you made with such courage displayed
Lets you laugh in the face of disaster
But now it's over and done
And your need for such boldness is gone
You're alone and you sigh and you try not to cry
But if it's coming, just let it come
And don't let fear hold back the tears
If you feel that's the way that it need be
Walking down halls with echoing walls
I’m hearing the light from the window,
I’m seeing the sound of the sea
My feet have come loose from their moorings
I’m feeling quite wonderfully free
And I think I will travel to Rio
Using the music for flight
There’s nothing I know of in Rio,
But it’s something to do with the night
It’s only a whimsical notion, to fly down to Rio tonight
And I probably won’t fly down to Rio
But – then again – I just might.
There’s wings to the thought behind fancy
There’s wings to the thought behind play
And dancing to rhythms of laughter
Makes laughter the rhythm of dreams
So I think I will travel to Rio
Using the music for flight
There’s nothing I know of in Rio,
But it’s something to do with the night
It’s only a whimsical notion, to fly down to Rio tonight
And I probably won’t fly down to Rio
But – then again – I just might.
I feel such a sense of well-being
A problem has come to be solved
And what I thought was proper for battle
I see now is proper for love
So I think I will travel to Rio
Using the music for flight
There’s nothing I know of in Rio,
But it’s something to do with the night
It’s only a whimsical notion, to fly down to Rio tonight

Male: "Reno, why Reno?"
She was a lackluster lover who thought of another
When I offered her my hand to help her in out of the rain
Then she became quite possessive when I gave her the message
That I had to leave on the outbound ten o'clock train
She said I thought you were stable
And that I might be able
To talk you into sticking around for a couple of years
I said I roll with the flow, wherever it goes and it's rolling out of here
There was this didactic minister who told me of sinister things
Which would happen if I were to do something wrong
He spoke at length about brimstone
And lives that were based on
Belief that the bad and the good were equally strong
That's why I think I undid him when I started to kid him
'Cause he said if you'll give me some time, I'll make it quite clear
I said I roll with the flow, wherever it goes and it's rolling out of here
Now those are two fine examples of the way that I handled
The pressure that tried to draw me away from the light
And in the final analysis it's foolish if you resist
The changes that come into your everyday life
There might be some trepidation but don't let hesitation
Deprive you of hope and try to replace it with fear
Just roll with the flow wherever it goes
Even if it rolls outta here
You just roll with the flow wherever it goes
Even if it rolls outta here
Just roll with the flow wherever it goes
See the lazy windmills slowly turning
Cutting up the marble canyons of the sky
See the dust around my feet go churning
Moving with the winds down the highways
Of goodbyes
Standing in the lonely light of the silver moon
Looking over maps of memories for the road
Standing in the lonely light of the silver moon
With the unexpected destination of my home
Half the thoughts I'm thinking speak in sighs
As that same old wave of lonliness returns
And I can see you when I close my eyes
Speaking very softly as you turned
Standing in the lonely light of the silver moon
Looking over maps of memories for the road
Standing in the lonely light of the silver moon
With the unexpected destination of my home
Now I must go
Go and let go
Standing in the lonely light of the silver moon
Looking over maps of memories for the road
Standing in the lonely light of the silver moon

blues And all this talk about leaving is strictly bad
news So you settle down and stay with the man that loves
you Yes, you settle down and stay with the man that loves
Half the world concerned with a slightly tarnished masterpiece
Hoping to return as the once forgotten culture thief
Lying on its side, the stately vessel now replete
With harbingers of peace, telling lies
Waiting at the door with a stance secure in second thoughts
Overlooking signs of the spiritual bereavement's cost
Trying to arrive at a destination that they've lost
To ignorance which winks at them and smiles
Listen well
The patience of the people soon will end
Time will tell
As the melting of your plastic smile begins
Sailing ships of state and ignoring navigation laws
Through the sea of man, the captains mad with power pause
And congratulate themselves on the virtuous and noble cause
Right in the middle of the ten-cent scenery
Shuffled and stacked on a postcard rack
There's a cute little girl with a Shetland pony
She smiles at me but I can't smile back
Cactus Jack drinks coffee black
Tells me it's my lucky day
Five o'clock in the Texas morning
And I've come a long, long way
Five o'clock in the Texas morning
And I've come a long, long way
She left me cold on a Winter's morning
And cold it's been for a long, long time
She told me Texas was where she's goin'
And I came looking but she's so hard to find
Cactus Jack drinks coffee black
Tells me it's my lucky day
Five o'clock in the Texas morning
And I've come a long, long way
Five o'clock in the Texas morning
And I've come a long, long way
Oh, I don't know just where I'll find her
Maybe the soldier with the suitcase saw her
She just said she was goin' to Texas for a little while
So I'm lookin' for a girl with light brown hair
And hazel-eyed, and she's not too pretty, but a beautiful smile
She just said, "Well, I'm goin' to Texas for a little while"
Cook in the back is gettin' curious
He asks the waitress where I'm from
She just says, "Well, I've never seen him
He's prob'ly just a California bum"
Cactus Jack he says, "That's right"
As I walk out into the light
Five o'clock in the Texas morning
And I've got a long, long ride
Five o'clock in the Texas morning
I've got a long, long ride
Outside, the sun is up
And the wind blows me
Like a Dixie cup
Shadows slowly creeping down the prairie trail
Everything is sleeping - ah, but the nightingale
Moon will soon be climbing in the purple sky
Night winds all a-humming this tender lullaby.
Cares of the day have fled
My little sleepyhead
Stars are in the sky
Time that the prayers were said
My little sleepyhead
To a prairie lullaby
Saddle up your pony
Sandman's here
To guide you down the trail of dreams
Tumble in bed my tired
My little sleepyhead,
To a prairie lullaby
Saddle up your pony
Sandman's here
To guide you down the trail of dreams
Tumble in bed my tired
My little sleepyhead
To a prairie lullaby

The stars in the night played a Blue Carioca
The moon shone outside as the planet revolved
The wind was caressed with the fragrance of summer
The night gentle nature impelled us to love
And I sat alone on a beach by a palm tree
Your silhouette cast a glow on the sand
And there with the sound of the waves and the smell of gardenias
Two lovers sailed on romance through a magical land
Dancing and dancing all night to that Blue Carioca
Living the wonderful dream that remains
Caught up inside of a Blue Carioca
Two lovers fly on its lovely refrain
Glide, glide on Carioca
Glide, glide on out to sea
Glide, glide on Carioca
Glide, glide on out to sea
Dancing and dancing all night to that Blue Carioca
Living the wonderful dream that remains
Caught up inside of a Blue Carioca
Two lovers fly on its lovely refrain
Glide, glide on Carioca
Glide, glide on out to sea
Glide, glide on Carioca
In the still of the night
As I gaze from my window
At the moon in its flight
My thoughts all stray to you
In the still of the night
While the world is in slumber
Oh, the times without number
Darling, when I say to you
"Do you love me as I love you?
Are you my life to be
My dream come true?"
Or will this dream of mine
Fade out of sight
Like the moon growing dim
On the rim of the hill
All around the campfire stood seven dusty men
The cook was drinking applejack, the cattle were all penned
Someone must have cracked a wise one because the men began to grin
Their smiles shot out like sunbeams and made the night give in
Because
Laugh kills lonesome every single time
That's why Charlie Russell painted it
And why it looks so fine
Laugh kills lonesome every single time
Roy and Dale and Pecos Bill, they knew all about this
So did Walt and Hasui, who gave it their own twist
Sometimes, when things can't get much worse and life's become a fist
Someone will crack a wise one and laughter works like this, huh-huh
Laugh kills lonesome every single time
That's why Charlie Russell painted it
And why it looks so fine
Laugh kills lonesome every single time
Laugh kills lonesome every single time
That's why Charlie Russell painted it in the first place
And why it looks so fine
Laugh kills lonesome every single time
Laugh kills lonesome
Laugh kills lonesome
Winonah
The whiskey owns her
So she takes to the taverns to take some company
Winonah
Nobody's shown her
That barrooms are a prison and whiskey is no key
Contemplating why her youth so quickly slipped away
Winonah pours another drink to wash the pain away
Taking whiskey for her wages, Winonah looks for truth
While sweeping up the sawdust underneath the barroom booth
Winonah
The whiskey owns her
So she takes to the taverns to take some company
Winonah
Nobody's shown her
That barrooms are a prison and whiskey is no key
Early in her younger days she felt she could not cope
So dependency on dreams became her only hope
And now the dreams she's dreaming come from bottles on the shelf
So gaily, drinking daily, sweet Winonah finds herself
Winonah
The whiskey owns her
So she takes to the taverns to take some company
Winonah
Nobody's shown her
That barrooms are a prison and whiskey is no key
Winonah
The whiskey owns her
So she takes to the taverns to take some company

That barrooms are a prison and whiskey is no key
That barrooms are a prison

Motor yacht pulses in the Casablanca moonlight
Pomade and perfume fill the summer air
Ladies of the island
Ladies of estate
Mingle close and dance the rhumba
Thats why they're there
Moroccan magic pouring off the Silver Screen
Taking me to places no one has ever been
Fly the China Clipper
Sail the Sally-B
There's no need to try to tell me
Its not what it seems
And it all
Takes me home
It all
Takes me home
It all
Takes me home
Summer sun, Havana palms
Sway beside the clear green sea
Movies of Havana are all that I can see
Still enchantment wakes me
Enchantment takes me
To the promise of perfection
Outside the dream
And it all
Takes me home
It all
Takes me home
It all

First day in August
Last rain was in May
When the rainmaker came to Kansas
In the middle of a dusty day
The rainmaker said to the people
"Tell me what you are prepared to pay"
The rainmaker said to the people
"Well, I'll conjure up a rain today"
Ninety degrees 'neath the trees where it's shady
Hundred and ten in the hot sun
Heat from the street burned the feet of the ladies
See how they run
Called down the lightning
By a mystical name
Then the rainmaker called on the thunder
And suddenly it began to rain
Then the rainmaker passed his hat to the people
But the people all turned away
Then the rainmaker's eyes
And the Kansas skies
Both became a darker grey
First day in August
Last rain was in May
When the rainmaker came to Kansas
In the middle of a dusty day
The rainmaker smiled as he hitched up his wagon
And without a word he rode way
Then the people of the town heard the sound of his laughter
And they knew the rain had come to stay
Rain rain go away
Come again another day
Rain rain go away
Come again another day
Rain

Lucy and Ramona, cruisin' through the jungles of L.A.
Hopin' to promote a dream somewhere along the way
Rollin' through the streets, lookin' for a disco
Passin' up the treats from a kid named Cisco
Trying to make connections
With their blemish-free complexions
And just as fate would have it
They ended up with Sunset Sam
Sam was sellin' watches from a suitcase on a TV tray
And Lucy and Ramona were tryin' to figure out if he was gay
The three of them were standing, staring at each other
When the light behind their eyes blew each other's cover
The ancient code was branded
And each of them was handed
A ticket to their kingdom
'Cause they saw their brother Sunset Sam
Lucy and Ramona and Sunset Sam
People on the streets tryin' to find a plan
People on the streets lookin' for the land
Lucy and Ramona and their brother Sunset Sam
Lucy was from Compton and she met Ramona at the zoo
Ramona was from Brooklyn, but she left when she was twenty-two
Sam was a native of the Arizona desert
But he split when he was slated for some governmental make-work
Their differences subsided when the common bond was sighted
They were all from the same place
That made the famous Sunset Sam
Lucy and Ramona and Sunset Sam
People on the streets tryin' to find a plan
People on the streets lookin' for the land
Lucy and Ramona and their brother Sunset Sam
Yes it's Lucy and Ramona and Sunset Sam
People on the streets tryin' to find a plan
People on the streets just lookin' for the land

orchestra's playingAnd even the palms seem to be
swayingWhen they begin the beguineTo live it
again is past all endeavorExcept when that tune touches my
heartAnd darling there we are swearing to love
foreverAnd promising never, never to partWhat
moments divine, what rapture serene,Two clouds came along
to disperse the joys we had tasted,And now when I hear
people curse the chance that was wasted,I know but too well
what they mean.So don't let them begin the
beguine,Let the love that was once a fire remain an
ember,Let it sleep like the dead desire I only
rememberWhen they begin the beguineOh, no, let
them begin the bequine, make them playTill the stars that
were there before return above you,Until you whisper to me
once more, "Darling, I love you"And we suddenly know what
heaven we're inWhen they begin the
beguineOh, yes, let them begin the bequine, make them
playUntil the stars that were there before return above
youUntil you whisper to me once more, "Darling, I love
you"And we suddenly know what heaven we're inWhen
they begin the beguineAnd we suddenly know what heaven
Facing left, facing right
Saves the rest, Nevada fights
Left on the desert out in the cold
He thought Sam would remember
But he was too old
And the bygone, half-grown, high-flown cyclone rides
Saving day, saving night
Spends the rest, Nevada fights
Left on the highway outside of town
He thought someone would answer
But no one was around
And the bygone, half-grown, high-flown cyclone rides
Lonely start, lonely time
Lonely heart, Nevada dies
Land of the people drying in the sun
Waiting for the promised help
That never seemed to come
Lovely Tanya in nights of jasmine
And white kimonos of shiny satin
Where laughing Buddha meets golden dragon
And hearts are given with such conviction
Oh, lovely Tanya with eyes that shimmer
Of love like a waterfall
Ah, how she laughs
Ah, how she sings
Ah, watch her dance
Lovely Tanya with ancient wisdom
She greets her lover in misty visions
And long embraces spark lost impressions
Of past romances of great duration
Oh, lovely Tanya with eyes that shimmer
Of love like a waterfall
Ah, how she laughs
Ah, how she sings
Ah, watch her dance
Lovely Tanya with words unspoken
My heart is captured, the web is woven
And we surrender to joy's caresses
The love that's offered has been accepted
Oh, lovely Tanya with eyes that shimmer
Of love like a waterfall
Eyes of love like a waterfall
Eyes of love like a waterfall
Love like a waterfall
Hearts are given with such conviction
Love like a waterfall
I want to watch the moon rise over the Rio Grande
Stand in contemplation, hand in gentle hand
Breathing the beauty of the pink and purple land
High on the inspiration of the moon over the Rio Grande
The endless desperation of deadline after deadline
The constant agitation of the headlines of the play
Brings the inclination to make a little free time
And watch nature's message as she goes about her day
So, I want to watch the moon rise over the Rio Grande
Stand in contemplation, hand in gentle hand
Breathing the beauty of the pink and purple land
High on the inspiration of the moon over the Rio Grande
So many conversations simply have no meaning
The failed communications fall upon the floor
There's something in the spirit of the language of the land
The eloquent precision, nothing less and nothing more
So, I want to watch the moon rise over the Rio Grande
Stand in contemplation, hand in gentle hand
Breathing the beauty of the pink and purple land
High on the inspiration of the moon over the Rio Grande
I want to watch the moon rise over the Rio Grande
Stand in contemplation, hand in gentle hand
Breathing the beauty of the pink and purple land
High on the inspiration of the moon over the Rio Grande
High on the inspiration of the moon
High on the inspiration of the moon
She took my hand
Tried to make me understand
That she would always be there
I looked away
Then she ran away from me today
I'm such a lone, lonely man
Came as a surprise to me
She left me here in misery
Seemed like only yesterday
She made a vow
She'd never go away
She took my hand
Tried to make me understand
That she would always be there
I looked away
Then she ran away from me today
I'm such a lone, lonely man
Seemed to me like such a sin
For me to love another man's woman
But I guess I'll keep on sinnin'
Lovin' you 'til my very last day
I looked away
Then she ran away from me today
In the morning
When the sun is a lonely light just over the hill
When the world is awake and yet all things are still
My thoughts keep returning to you as they always will
In the morning
I am watching and waiting to see the sun shine
And I'm feeling your presence so sweet on my mind
For I know you're the love and the light of my life for all time
Juliana
How your name brings me awake like the first light of dawn
Juliana
How it comes to the heart like the wind from the wings of a song
Juliana
You're my sweet heart's desire
You're the face of a dream I have drawn
In the evening
As the starlight invades the celestial dome
While I lie in repose in my natural home
I think of the day now behind us and how you have shone
In the evening
With the sweet orange blossoms caressing the air
I stare at the sky and I see your face there
With the moon in your eyes and the indigo night in your hair
Juliana
How your name brings me awake like the first light of dawn
Juliana
How it comes to the heart like the wind from the wings of a song
Juliana
You're my sweet heart's desire
You're the face of a dream I have drawn
You're my sweet heart's desire
You're the face of a dream I have drawn
Juliana
Juliana
You're my sweet heart's desire
Brasil, tierra buena y hermosa
de morena graciosa
de mirar tan indiscreto
O Brasil, verde quedar
para el mundo admirar
El Brasil de mi amor
Tierra de Nuestro Señor
Brasil, Brasil, a mí
O esas palmeras murmurantes
donde yo cuelgo mi hamaca
en noches llenas de splendor
Brasil, Brasil
O en esas fuentes cristalinas
donde la luna va a mirarse
donde yo mitigo mi sed
O es Brasil lindo y moreno
Es el Brasil brazilero
Tierra de samba y canciones

donde yo mitigo mi sed

Born to love you
Born to love you
Born to share your smiles and tears
Born to be here if you need me, dear
Born to love you till I die
My life was empty
So blue and forlorn
And then you put your hand in mine
I know why I was born
Born to love you
Born to love you
Born to share your smiles and tears
Born to be here if you need me, dear
Born to love you till I die
My life was empty
So blue and forlorn
Then you put your hand in mine
I knew why I was born
Born to love you

Born to share your smiles and tears
Born to be here if you need me, dear
Born to love you till I die

Dreamer
What do we dream when night time's through
Where do we sail, where do we fly
What are the visions in our sky
Falling upward we keep reaching for stars
And then we cast our vision to the wind
Then slowly drift back to the earth again
And yet the dreams remain our faithful friends
They keep returning to us softly
Falling upward we keep reaching for stars
And then we cast our vision to the wind
Then slowly drift back to the earth again
And yet the dreams remain our faithful friends
They keep returning to us softly
Dreamer
What do we dream when nighttime's through
Where do we sail, where do we fly
What are the visions in our sky
I am not a poet
I cannot make a rhyme
I do not know the big words
Like "shpritz" and "paradigm"
I am not an artist
I cannot paint my house
I cannot chisel marble
I cannot twist and shout
I am not a Yankee
I have no nation-state
No cosmic star connections
I cannot get a date
I am not a crook
I am not a thief
To be, for me, is not to be
Not to see, to see
Goodbye, goodbye, the "I am" world
Goodbye, goodbye, so long
Farewell, adieu, adieu, farewell
I have not sung this song
No, I have not sung this song
I am not the Walrus
I am not the Boss
I am not the King or Queen
I am not Jack Frost
I am not the singer
I am not twenty-two
I am not was, were
Be, am, is, or you
Goodbye, goodbye, the "I am" world
Goodbye, goodbye, so long
Farewell, adieu, adieu, farewell
I have not sung this song
I have not sung this song
Goodbye, goodbye, the "I am" world
Goodbye, goodbye, so long
Farewell, adieu, adieu, farewell
I have not sung this song
No, I have not sung this song
Chow mein and bowling
Twinkies and champagne
Moon over McDonald's
Frozen pizza in the rain
In the rain
Dancing in the dump truck
Dining with the dog
Laughing in the bathtub
With a ducky and a frog
Stake me to an anthill
Shoot me to the moon
Without you I am no one
Like a burger with no bun
Like a burger with no bun
I can't go on
On the spot we first met
Flowers grow today
Where's that little toxic waste dump
Where two children used to play
Used to play
Meat and diet cola
Duck a la butane
Refried beans and rare wines
Like they give you on a plane
Oh, take away my game shows
Make me watch the news
Without you I am no one
Like a gumball with no gum
Like a slumlord with no slum
I can't go on (he can't go on)
I can't go on (he can't go on)
I can't go on (and on)
I can't go on (he can't go on)
I really can't go on (he can't go on)
I can't go on (on)
I can't go on (he can't go on)
There was an element of majesty
In the way the lady said that she
Was leaving in the morning for the coast
And that goodbye should have brought me pain
But I watched her quickly check the reins
Of emotions which unloosed would cripple most
Then the thing that struck me strangely
Was the feeling that I had when she was gone
The few that left before had left me empty
But she left me with a fullness to lean on
Then the thing that struck me strangely
Was the feeling that I had when she was gone
The few that left before had left me empty
But she left me with a fullness to lean on
So the bitterness that usually
Set in was effectively undone by the girl's uncommon grace
And the thrust of the experience
Was the enrichening and lively sense
She gave to my life and to its pace
I don't know where she's gone
Her wanderlust surely was strong
But love would be made much more sure
If all the ladies leaving
Left like her
If all the ladies leaving
Left like her
Tell me Just one more time the reasons why you must
leave Tell me once more why you're sure you don't
need me Tell me again but, don't think that you'll
convince me Now you've said Before falling in
love again you'd rather be dead'Cause when
someone breaks your heart, you cry your eyes red But
there's nothing so hard about the life that you've
led As far as I can see There's no reason for
goodbyes You're just running scared And that's
something I won't buy So you loseI won't
let you go with nothing to show but more blues And all this talk about leaving is strictly bad news So you settle down and stay with the man that loves youSo you lose I won't let you go with nothing to show but more
blues And all this talk about leaving is strictly bad
news So you settle down and stay with the man that loves
you Yes, you settle down and stay with the man that loves
you Yes, you settle down and stay with me babe
I fall to pieces
Each time I see you again
I fall to pieces
How can I be just your friend?
You want me to act like we've never kissed
You want me to forget (to forget)
Pretend we never met (never met)
And I've tried and I've tried
But I haven't yet
You walk by and I fall to pieces
I fall to pieces
Each time someone speaks your name
I fall to pieces
Time only adds to the flame
You tell me to find someone else to love
Someone who'll love me too (love me too)
The way you used to do (used to do)
But each time I go out with someone new
You walk by and I fall to pieces
You walk by and I fall to pieces
Sometimes thoughts coincidental
With activities quite simple
In consideration seem to be quite meaningless
Yet hoping for the best
I listen for the rest
Listening to find a way
To overcome earthbound decay
Still I'm classifying these ideas that come to me
Into those that I can see
And those that I can feel
It seems it should be
So easy to do
The things that I am led to do
But conviction and courage
Sometimes drift apart
And takes me back to the start
Sometimes thoughts coincidental
With activities quite simple
In consideration seem to be quite meaningless
Yet hoping for the best
Goodbye to things that bore me
Joy is waiting for me
I see a new horizon
My life has only begun
Beyond the blue
Beyond the blue horizon
Waits a beautiful day
Goodbye to things that bore me
Joy is waiting for me
I see a new horizon
My life has only begun
Beyond the blue horizon
Lies a rising sun
Beyond the blue horizon
Waits a beautiful day
Goodbye to things that bore me
Joy is waiting for me
I see a new horizon
My life has only begun
Beyond the blue horizon
Lies a rising sun
Beyond the blue horizon
Lies a rising sun
Beyond the blue horizon
Waits a beautiful day
Joy is waiting
[Inaudible]
The rain falls through Chicago skies People stare and wonder
why And some where sails a yellow butter fly A jaguar
circles in the night The jungle glistens by
moonlight And some where sails a yellow
butterfly All in all in all in all Like an island
waterfall Days and nights revolve around Her flying,
silent sound Mother wakes and Father turnsA candle
flame surreally burns And some where sails a yellow
butterfly All in all in all in all Like an
island water fall Days and nights revolve around Her
flying, silent sound Mother wakes and Father
turnsA candle flame surreally burns And some where sails
a yellow butter fly A yellow butter fly A yellow
butter fly A yellow butter fly
Slowly, I walk through the gently falling rain
And I know that I will never pass this way again
Never wondering why--teardrops chaffing my eyes
Longing to be where the melted kisses fall
Lingering and still, while quietly they tell their all
Blue is the color of the sun
And nothing stops when everything is done
Now my whole world opens up in different rhymes and tunes
With the highways making up the verse
And then suddenly I see the light of something called the moon
And though my path is planned, it's not rehearsed
So I move along to the next thing on the list
Knowing full well that some of them just don't exist
But I am finally alone
And where my foot steps down is where it's home
Now my whole world opens up in different rhymes and tunes
With the highways making up the verse
And then suddenly I see the light of something called the moon
And though my path is planned, it's not rehearsed
So I move along to the next thing on the list
Knowing full well that some of them just don't exist
But I am finally alone
Hello lady
Hello lady friend
Good news lady
Good news lady friend
You are lady
You are lady friend
Hello lady
Hello lady friend
Caused the year of happy moonbeams
Standing close and gentle loving
While the sandy stretches called me on
Only for a moment's parting
Each one planting his own garden
The time to shed the blossoms soon will come
Hello lady
Hello lady friend
Good news lady
Good news lady friend
You are lady
You are lady friend
Hello lady
Hello lady friend
See the woman she came sliding
Out of her most fearful hiding
Holding out an open hand for me
See the lady she came rolling
And the lady she was holding
More than even she or I could see
Hello lady
Hello lady friend
Good news lady
Good news my lady friend
You are lady
You are lady friend
Hello lady
Whoa, Mama Nantucket, she tried to kick the habit
But she couldn't and she got stung
I tried to relieve her
But she wasn't a believer
Until she found another one
Da-do-da-li-da-lo-da-la-hee I love it here on the range
Oh-my-ty-yi-yippee, I would love it more if it changed
Da-do-da-li-da-lo-da-la-hee I love it here on the range
Oh-my-ty-yi-yippee, I would love it more if it changed
Oh, Bobby with a dollar, he was sure he found the answer
But it might take a little time
Playing follow the leader
He was sure would be a winner
But I had other things on my mind
Da-do-da-li-da-lo-da-la-hee I love it here on the range
Oh-my-ty-yi-yippee, I would love it more if it changed
Da-do-da-li-da-lo-da-la-hee I love it here on the range
Oh-my-ty-yi-yippee, I would love it more if it changed
Oh, I see all the people running
Coming from miles around
Everybody's singing a different tune
See them all fall down
Well I don't like to quarrel but what about tomorrow
Will it be the same as the past
I keep on hoping that something will happen
And I hope that it happens fast
Da-do-da-li-da-lo-da-la-hee I love it here on the range
Oh-my-ty-yi-yippee, I would love it more if it changed
Da-do-da-li-da-lo-da-la-hee I love it here on the range
Oh-my-ty-yi-yippee, I would love it more if it changed
Whoa, li-da-lo-da-la-hee, I love it here on the range
A' oh-my-ty-yi-yippee, I would love it more if it changed
Da-do-da-li-da-lo-da-la-hee I love it here on the range
Oh-my-ty-yi-yippee, I would love it more if it changed
Hey hey mercy woman
Plays a song and no one listens
I need help I'm falling again
Yeah, play the drum a little bit louder
Tell me I can live without her
If I only listen to the band
Listen to the band
Whoa weren't they good
They made me happy
I think I can make it alone
Whoa-oh mercy woman
Plays a song and no one listens
I need help I'm falling again
Yeah, play the drum a little louder
Tell me I can live without her
If I only listen to the band
Listen to the band
Whoah weren't they good
They made me happy
I think I can make it alone
Yeah mercy woman
Plays a song and no one listens
I need help I'm falling again
Yeah, play the drum a little louder
Tell me I can live without her
Now that I have listened to the band
Oh, weren't they good
They made me happy
I think I can make it alone
Whoa-oh mercy woman
Plays a song and nobody listenin'
I need help I'm falling again
Play the drum a little louder, Johnny
Tell me I can live without her
Now that I have listen to the band
I want total control of the airports
Total control of the sea
And total control of the freeway
Total control of police
I want total control of the subway
Total control of my life
Total control of all variables
Total control of your wife
Total control
Total control
Total control of machines
Total control
Total control
I'm sure that's what happiness means
So I know that I'll need lots of money
To get where I'm trying to be
I've read all about it in magazines
I've heard all about it on radio
I've seen all about it on tv shows
I've got to grab all the gusto
And I know that means total control
So I want total control of the oceans
Total control of the moon
And total control of the children
Total control of my room
I want total control of emotions
And total control of the wind
Total control of beginnings
Total control of the end
Total control
Total control
Total control of machines
Total control
Total control
I'm sure that's what happiness means
So I want total control of emotions
And total control of the wind
And total control of beginnings
Total control of the end
Yes, I want total control of beginnings
Total control of the end
Of the end
The end
Of the end
Down at the diner
Formosa Diner
The people line up in the evening sun
They're wantin' won ton
They're wantin' egg rolls
They're wantin' plum sauce and the Peking duck
But then the diner
Formosa Diner
It weaves its magic and they can't sit still
Up on the tables
Pirouetting to the hypnotizing beat
All inhibitions gone they're leaping wildly
Seat to seat to seat
Just what it is no one can tell
Somehow the food just casts its spell
But you can bet the patrons keep it to themselves
Watch it
Down at the diner
Formosa Diner
Tiz "One-shot" Gojo, takes a booth near the wall
He waits for Tanya
The lovely Tanya
He orders dumplings in a red hot sauce
But then the diner
Formosa Diner
It weaves its magic and he can't sit still
Up on the table
Pirouetting to the hypnotizing beat
All inhibitions gone he's leaping wildly
Seat to seat to seat
Just what it is no one can tell
Somehow the food just casts its spell
But you can bet the patrons keep it to themselves
Little red rider, ride on the railroad
There she goes
Little red rider, ride on the railroad
Wave goodbye
So long sunshine, ride away
I know you'll come back someday
And relax my mind
Little Miss Red's asleep on the railroad
There she goes
Little Miss Red's asleep on the railroad
No one knows
That little Miss Red is little Miss Blue
And she looks a lot like you around the eyes
Nobody was home in time
Oh, nobody was home in time
Nobody was hom in the time I called home
Somebody said they all had drowned
Bye bye, sweet miss, give me one kiss
And then I'll go
Bye bye, sweet miss, give me one kiss
Don't let it show
Then turn your brown eyes to the wall
Was that message there before?
You were so wise
Bye bye, sweet miss, give me one kiss
And then I'll go
Bye bye, sweet miss, give me one kiss
Don't let it show
Then turn your brown eyes to the wall
Was that message there before?
In a long and involved conversation with myself
I saw precious things come into view
And I pored through the files taken off my mental shelf
And dusted off some memories of you
Then I thought about the time when our affair was green
How the phoenix of our love first flapped its silken wings
All the urgency and passion
Of each new day as it happened
And how it all mellowed as it grew
I remembered the times when our laughter would explode
And how you would turn to hide your smile
And the hours of silence while a perfumed candle glowed
And both our thoughts meandered on for miles
I remembered the times I said I really had to go
And I remembered the tears that filled your eyes
Then I touched your hand and told you
That it really was a lie
And though you never knew it dear
I cried
Well it's amazing how time can so softly change your ways
And make you look at things that can't be seen
And how the years that roll by can start you listening
Not just to what they say
But what they mean
So forgive me my dear if I seem preoccupied
And if the razor edge of youth-filled love is gone
But we're both a little older
Our relationship has grown
Not just in how it's shaped
I've forgotten how long I've been sitting here
Watching my reflection in a disappearing beer
The loneliness is so thick you can slice it
The emptiness is too much for me to fight it
And while tomorrow must be met, it seems
That life's become a jewel that dimly gleams
From its perch atop a ring that's slightly out of round
Casting the reflection of a crying clown
The closeness is gone
Still
The memory lives on
The distance now is growing as the highway sings
Changing the complexion and the scheme of things
And as the world begins to turn I feel the time has come
To accept apparent loss as a battle won
And with that in mind I close my eyes and kiss your cheek
Push the loneliness aside and stand on shaky feet
Then reimplant the smile that never really leaves
Gently place my heart back on my sleeve
The closeness is gone
Still
The memory lives on
The distance now is growing as the highway sings
Changing the complexion and the scheme of things
And as the world begins to turn I feel the time has come
To accept apparent loss as a battle won
And with that in mind I close my eyes and kiss your cheek
Push the loneliness aside and stand on shaky feet
Then reimplant the smile that never really leaves
Gently place my heart back on my sleeve
The closeness is gone
Still,

There's a light from the doorway
There's a light from the hall
But the light from the window
Is the brightest of all
There are lights in the city
There are lights in the skies
But the light in your window
Are the lights in my eyes
There's a light that is solo
There's a light that's so high
They are lights from the shadows
They are lights of goodbyes
I've been waiting, waiting for answers
From the light in my soul
And that light that keeps calling
Well you and I
Travel to the beat of a different drum
Can't you tell by the way I run
Every time you make eyes at me
Yes, you cry and moan
And say it'll work out
But honey child I've got my doubts
You can't see the forest for the trees
Now don't get me wrong
It's not that I knock it
It's just that I am not in the market
For a girl
Who wants to love only me
And I'm not saying that you ain't pretty
All's I saying's that I'm not ready
For any person place or thing
To try and pull the reins
In on me
Well I feel pretty sure
That you'll find a man
Who will take a lot more than I ever could or can
And you'll settle down with him
And I know that you'll be happy
So goodbye
I'm a-leavin'
I see no sense in you cryin' and grievin'
We'll both live a lot longer
If you live without me
Well I feel pretty sure
That you'll find a man
Who will take a lot more than I ever could or can
And you'll settle down with him
And I know that you'll be happy
So goodbye
I'm a-leavin'
I see no sense in you cryin and grievin'
We'll both live a lot longer
If you live without me
If you live without me, woman
Fred and Ginger
I'll remember you
Still your magic
Comes through the late night tube
Hey how'd ya think up
All those dances
That made those dumb plots
Seem so romantic?
Ah, Fred and Ginger
You were the best by far
John, my friend And the band you sang
You wrote the songs
That helped to ease the pain
Where'd ya think up
All those hook lines
That so completely captured those times?
Ahh, John my friend
You were the best by far
Because you danced
And you danced
And you danced
'Cross the silver screen
And you sang
And you sang
And you sang
In your submarine
Fred and Ginger,
Paul, George, and Ringo, too
Those days are gone
But I'll remember you
And so everything you did
Is still alive today
And though I'm late
There's something I must say
Thank you for the times you gave me
Thank you for the tears you saved me
Please take this song
As my thanks to you
Because you danced
And you danced
And you danced
'Cross the silver screen
And you sang
And you sang
And you sang
In your submarine
Fred and Ginger,
Paul, George, and Ringo, too
Those days are gone
But I'll remember you
And so everything you did
Is still alive today
And though I'm late
There's something I must say
Thank you for the times you gave me
Thank you for the tears you saved me
Please take this song
As my thanks to you
Fred and Ginger
John and Paul
George and Ringo
And all
I'll remember you
I'll remember you
I'll remember
I'll remember
I'll remember
You can't try to walk down two different roads
Look to both of them to bring you home
You must take your own way, though it is the long way
And sometimes you find yourself alone
I know, this all happened once before
Sometimes you think, "I'll wait" but he who hesitates is lost
This is not just a game
It's the problem of creation and only meditation
Can make your mind and age the same
I know, for this all happened once before
You'd better move along, don't wait and let the dawn
And its friendly sunrise catch you at rest
Do what you must, no man can criticize you
As long as what you're doing is your best
I know, for this all happened once before
Me and my calico girlfriend
Starting a set of new rules
Watching the stars as they drop in
Making the nighttime a fool
Wandering over a roadway
Changing the signs of the times
Looking for love and a new day
Seeing with more than our eyes
Keeper of men and of shadow
Follow us up to the top
Taking the latch off the window
Giving us more than we dropped
Me and my calico girlfriend
Suddenly stare at the face
Of time and its hope that we'll win
Then softly drop out of the race
Keeper of men and of shadow
Follow us up to the top
Taking the latch off the window
Giving us more than we dropped
Me and my calico girlfriend
Suddenly stare at the face
Of time and its hope that we'll win
Goodbye to things that bore me
Joy is waiting for me
I see a new horizon
My life has only begun
Beyond the blue
Beyond the blue horizon
Waits a beautiful day
Goodbye to things that bore me
Joy is waiting for me
I see a new horizon
My life has only begun
Beyond the blue horizon
Lies a rising sun
Beyond the blue horizon
Waits a beautiful day
Goodbye to things that bore me
Joy is waiting for me
I see a new horizon
My life has only begun
Beyond the blue horizon
Lies a rising sun
Beyond the blue horizon
Lies a rising sun
Beyond the blue horizon
Waits a beautiful day
Joy is waiting
Her name was Joanne
And she lived in a meadow by a pond
She touched me for a moment
With a look that spoke to me of her sweet love
Then the woman that she was, drove her on with desperation
And I saw as she went, a most hopeless situation
For Joanne and the man and the time
That made them both run
She was only a girl, I know that well
But still I could not see
That the hold that she had
Was much stronger than the love she felt for me
But staying with her and my little bit of wisdom
Broke down her desires
Like a light through a prism, into yellows and blues
And the tune that I could not have sung
Though the essence is gone
I have no tears to cry for her
My only thoughts of her are kind
Her name was Joanne
And she lived in a meadow by a pond
She touched me for a moment
With a look that spoke to me of her sweet love
Then the woman that she was, drove her on with desperation
And I saw, as she went, a most hopeless situation
For Joanne and the man and the time
That made them both run
Though the essence is gone
I have no tears to cry for her
My only thoughts of her are kind
Her name was Joanne
And she lived in a meadow by a pond
She touched me for a moment
With a look that spoke to me of her sweet love
Then the woman that she was, drove her on with desperation
And I saw, as she went, a most hopeless situation
For Joanne and the man and the time
That made them both run
For Joanne and the man and the time
I fall to pieces
Each time I see you again
I fall to pieces
How can I be just your friend?
You want me to act like we've never kissed
You want me to forget (to forget)
Pretend we never met (never met)
And I've tried and I've tried
But I haven't yet
You walk by and I fall to pieces
I fall to pieces
Each time someone speaks your name
I fall to pieces
Time only adds to the flame
You tell me to find someone else to love
Someone who'll love me too (love me too)
The way you used to do (used to do)
But each time I go out with someone new
You walk by and I fall to pieces
Oh, my lady, she runs
To the ends of the earth
In the search of her worth
In the search of her worth
"Oh, my woman", she cries
What lays here inside
Must not be be denied
Shall not be denied
The eyes of a fool, hide only the sun
And the light from an incoming day
The eyes of the wise, one looks over the dead
And sees what is said as a play
Sing with an ongoing sound
Of a wisdom that's found
That's waiting to speak
That's wanting to speak
Oh, sweet lady of mine
That life has refined
Expressing the truth and the love
Consider the source and ignore if you can
Whatever is said to undo the plan
Consider the source and ignore it, my friend
You're doing just fine, keep on keepin' on
Keep in mind the difference between courage and will
Don't be afraid to stop what you've begun
These straight folks think that winning, gives them license to kill
But number good is better than number one
Consider the source and ignore if you can
Whatever is said to undo the plan
Consider the source and ignore it, my friend
You're doing just fine, keep on keepin' on
The eye that cast dispersions on the quiet way of life
Is lost among the past and partly blind
And aggressive undermining of what you know is right
Is the work of fools who think without their mind
Consider the source and ignore if you can
Whatever is said to undo the plan
Consider the source and ignore it, my friend
You're doing just fine, keep on keepin' on
With a gentle overturning of the darkness for the light
Extend yourself with caution to the call
And should tomorrow find you, moving slowly through the night
Don't let their cries of terror make you fall
Consider the source and ignore if you can
Whatever is said to undo the plan
Consider the source and ignore it, my friend
You're doing just fine, keep on keepin' on
You're doing just fine, keep on keepin' on
There was an element of majesty
In the way the lady said that she
Was leaving in the morning for the coast
And that goodbye should have brought me pain
But I watched her quickly check the reins
Of emotions which unloosed would cripple most
Then the thing that struck me strangely
Was the feeling that I had when she was gone
The few that left before had left me empty
But she left me with a fullness to lean on
Then the thing that struck me strangely
Was the feeling that I had when she was gone
The few that left before had left me empty
But she left me with a fullness to lean on
So the bitterness that usually
Set in was effectively undone by the girl's uncommon grace
And the thrust of the experience
Was the enrichening and lively sense
She gave to my life and to its pace
I don't know where she's gone
Her wanderlust surely was strong
But love would be made much more sure
If all the ladies leaving
Left like her
If all the ladies leaving
There was something reflected inside
Her remarkably curious eyes
So the shock that she felt didn't show
When I told her that I had to go
She just stood there somewhere in between
A smile and an unpleasant scene
Then she, with her back to the sun
Said, "If you think it's best, then it's done"
Ah, but oh, it seemed so cold
The compassion that I felt just didn't show
I haven't seen her since
And there was much about our parting which seemed amiss
For the love that I felt hadn't died
But by cruel circumstances denied
And her feelings and trust weren't misplaced
Nor are they now in her new lover's face
Oh, it seemed so cold
The compassion that I felt just didn't show
I haven't seen her since
And there was much about our parting which seemed amiss
For the love that I felt hadn't died
But by cruel circumstances denied
And her feelings and trust weren't misplaced
Politely perusing my state of affairs
With nothing apparently wrong
A silent and quiet restoration occurs
Of emotions forgotten and gone
Then, slowly my eyes start an effortless rise
Exposing the past to review
And the harmony constant in all of these things
Is the thought of the future with you
Unlimited joy, unlimited time
And the beauty of infinite light
Unlimited freedom that's rightfully mine
And is yours is unlimited life
The concept of loving has ultimate might
The power of peace and truth
And the harmony constant in all of these things
Is the thought of the future with you
Unlimited joy, unlimited time
And the beauty of infinite light
Unlimited freedom that's rightfully mine
And is yours is unlimited life
The concept of loving has ultimate might
The power of peace and truth
And the harmony constant in all of these things
We know someday mankind will travel to the stars
But it will not be done in tiny compact cars
The interstellar trip would take a hundred years
And we don't want to cramp your pretty legs up, dears
So I will pick you up about a quarter to
And we will pick up speed as we hit the hill
And then I'll drop the caddy into overdrive
And we will take right off into the starry skies
We got a million dollars worth of Ethel gas
And a reservation for the room
Tonight we're gonna fly the Eldorado to the moon
We're gonna fly the Eldorado to the moon
I know the Soviets
(La, la, la, la)
They must be most upset
(Nyet, nyet, nyet, nyet)
Because they cannot build a car like me El D, yet
It's got the fireplace
It's got the swimming pool
If we need extra space, it's got the backseat, too
We got a million dollars worth of ethel gas
And a reservation for the room
Tonight we're gonna fly the Eldorado to the moon
