The Rigveda (Sanskrit: ऋग्वेद ṛgveda, a compound of ṛc "praise, verse" and veda "knowledge") is an ancient Indian sacred collection of Vedic Sanskrit hymns. It is counted among the four canonical sacred texts (śruti) of Hinduism known as the Vedas. Some of its verses are still recited as Hindu prayers, at religious functions and other occasions, putting these among the world's oldest religious texts in continued use. The Rigveda contains several mythological and poetical accounts of the origin of the world, hymns praising the gods, and ancient prayers for life, prosperity, etc.

It is one of the oldest extant texts in any Indo-European language. Philological and linguistic evidence indicate that the Rigveda was composed in the north-western region of the Indian subcontinent, roughly between 1700–1100 BC (the early Vedic period).

The surviving form of the Rigveda is based on an early Iron Age (c. 10th c. BC) collection that established the core 'family books' (mandalas 2–7, ordered by author, deity and meter ) and a later redaction, co-eval with the redaction of the other Vedas, dating several centuries after the hymns were composed. This redaction also included some additions (contradicting the strict ordering scheme) and orthoepic changes to the Vedic Sanskrit such as the regularization of sandhi (termed orthoepische Diaskeuase by Oldenberg, 1888).

Harish Bhimani is a renowned voice-over artist and a Master of Ceremonies/Anchor in India. He is most known as the voice of 'Samay', the narrator in the TV series, Mahabharat. He is the leading voice in many documentaries, corporate films, feature films, TV & Radio commercials, Games, music album apart from hosting public events and ceremonies, since the 1980s. Media have variously described Harish Bhimani as ‘One of the Most Recognisable Voices of India’, ‘The Most-travelled Indian Compere’ and ‘A Writer with a Zing’.

Harish did his schooling from H.M.Public School, Mumbai, and after his MBA Harish Bhimani started TV news anchoring; narrating the Mahabharat on TV to India’s ambitious text-to-speech eVenture - with some 18,000 recordings of commercials, corporates & documentaries in between & counting; compering at Madison Square Garden to the Royal Albert Hall, Sydney Opera House & Shrine Auditorium & writing TV serial Khandaan to the legendary playback singer Lata Mangeshkar’s biography titled, Lata Didi Ajeeb Dastan Hai Yeh (1995); and recording globally through his unique voice website.

Gustav Theodore Holst (born Gustavus Theodore von Holst, 21 September 1874 – 25 May 1934) was an English composer. He is most famous for his orchestral suite The Planets.

His early works show the influence of Grieg, Wagner,Richard Strauss and fellow student Ralph Vaughan Williams, and later, through Vaughan Williams, the music of Ravel. The combined influence of Ravel, Hindu spiritualism and English folk tunes enabled Holst to free himself of the influence of Wagner and Strauss and to forge his own style. Holst's music is well known for unconventional use of metre and haunting melodies.

Holst composed almost 200 works, including operas, ballets, choral hymns and songs. An enthusiastic educator, Holst became music master at St Paul's Girls' School in 1905 and director of music at Morley College in 1907, continuing in both posts until retirement. He also taught singing at Wycombe Abbey School from 1912 until 1917.

He was the brother of Hollywood actor Ernest Cossart and father of the composer and conductor Imogen Holst, who wrote a biography of him in 1938.
