About the AISTS MSA
Since
2003, the AISTS has educated more than
300 sports managers, representing over
100 countries from all continents. The attractiveness of the programme lies in its unique and multidisciplinary approach, which integrates knowledge from the fields of technology, law, sociology, and medicine.
The course is taught by a staff of just over 100 world-class experts from the sports industry, and academics from the universities that co-sign the diploma: the
Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in
Lausanne (EPFL), the Universities of Lausanne (
UNIL) and
Geneva (UNIGE), and the
Swiss Graduate School of
Public Administration (
IDHEAP).
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and international sports organisations take part intrinsically in the practical education of the participants of the AISTS MSA, by intervening directly through conferences, by entrusting participants with team projects, and by offering work experience.
AISTS MSA lectures and team projects aim to provide participants with a better understanding of the great challenges in modern sport, such as in the organisation of mega-events, the fight against doping, the sport business and governance in sport.
The programme has been particularly successful in recent years as the number of applications has climbed significantly while the number of seats available remains narrowly limited. The class represents a diversity of cultures, higher educational backgrounds, professional experiences, and sports skills, some participants having competed in the
Olympic Games.
The majority of graduates pursue careers with national or international sports organisations, such as the IOC, national and international sports federations, and sport businesses (marketing, event organisers, public authorities, sport clubs, etc).
