Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a severe anxiety disorder that can develop after exposure to any event that results in psychological trauma. This event may involve the threat of death to oneself or to someone else, or to one's own or someone else's physical, sexual, or psychological integrity, overwhelming the individual's ability to cope. As an effect of psychological trauma, PTSD is less frequent and more enduring than the more commonly seen acute stress response. Diagnostic symptoms for PTSD include re-experiencing the original trauma(s) through flashbacks or nightmares, avoidance of stimuli associated with the trauma, and increased arousal—such as difficulty falling or staying asleep, anger, and hypervigilance. Formal diagnostic criteria (both DSM-IV-TR and ICD-10) require that the symptoms last more than one month and cause significant impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning.
Posttraumatic stress disorder is classified as an anxiety disorder, characterized by aversive anxiety-related experiences, behaviors, and physiological responses that develop after exposure to a psychologically traumatic event (sometimes months after). Its features persist for longer than 30 days, which distinguishes it from the briefer acute stress disorder. These persisting posttraumatic stress symptoms cause significant disruptions of one or more important areas of life function. It has three sub-forms: acute, chronic, and delayed-onset.
This patient education video explains PTSD, its symptoms, potential causes, and treatment options.

Now complex PTSD isn't something that is in the DSM. The Veteran's Administration and the center for PTSD lobbied to get this diagnosis put into the DMS 5 but the APA did not agree, and so we only have PTSD (mild, moderate, & severe) to work with. That doesn't meant that we cannot better understand the depths of PTSD and what repeated trauma can do to a person and their life.
When someone is repeatedly traumatized (ie. in war, abused for long periods of time, etc) it can make relationships afterward very difficult. T

Emergency responders are more susceptible to Post Taumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) because of the nature of the profession coupled with the personal demands and challenges we all face. IAFF members respond to any number of traumatic incidents on a daily, ongoing basis. If not treated properly, the anxiety can build over time and can lead to PTSD. But all too often the effects can easily be overlooked as “a part of the job.” Presenters will discuss causes and signs/symptoms of PTSD and best practices for addressing it within your local.

Wartorn 1861 -- 2010 is a documentary by HBO about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. While being an HBO production the documentary is bound to be full of shit, it does in many ways prove what I have been the first to say out loud. What "experts" classify as PTSD is really conscience catching up with monsters who preyed upon the weak. It's the remorse reminding the filth who murdered, raped and pillaged the innocents that they may have gotten away with it legally, but there are beyond Earthly powers that saw what they did and will hold them accountable.
I have always been very vocal about how nothing speaks "divine justice" quite as loudly as a ZOG mercenary committing suicide. I have always cheered when one of the filth eventually went ahead with it and I've always been clear about knowing the real reason why they did it -- the images of children they had raped, of the elderly they had executed in cold blood while laughing in their faces, of terrified families helplessly at the mercy of the murderers who made it fun and games to kill them in such a way so as to cause maximum suffering -- all these images came back to haunt them.
Judging by whom these "psychologists" treat for PTSD, if the USA was Mexico, they would be treating drug cartel sicarios. They would be treating them and making movies about how hard it is for them to get back to society after hard life of torturing random people and cutting their heads off at will. Cause victims don't need a movie. They don't need a fancy label for conditions they'd suffered. Who cares about victims and their lives that were ruined by the assassins when it's the assassins who get all the spotlight and pampering?
Likewise, imagine the theoretical scenario that plane hijackers fly lanes into two skyscrapers, killing 3,000 people but they themselves parachuted off to safety. If it was up to the psychologists oh so vocal about veterans suffering PTSD, they would never once mention any of the 3,000 victims and would only pamper the poor hijackers for whom the experience of causing a mass massacre must have scarred for life and now they suffer these horrible nightmares and have difficulties finding their place in the society... I mean! How fucking absurd, yet this is precisely what is happening.
Pampered War Criminals
Ultimately, because the documentary only features interviews with ZOG mercenaries, it only offers a glimpse of what it's like for the war criminals to return from spreading suffering, fear and death. The documentary in no way touches the terror their victims who were attacked by these sub human monsters must have experienced. Like I said in the Guest Post about PTSD -- must be terribly awful for a child rapist and murderer to return home and not be able to freely rape and murder any more children without repercussions. So we all need to give him extra attention and say things like "Thank you for your service" cause it really must suck to have to quit killing at will just like that and not be able to do it anymore.
General Raymond Odierno, commander of the US terror forces in Iraq interviewed later in the documentary has got to be one of the biggest sacks of shit I've ever heard speaking. That abominable lowlife spoke of "what they go through in Iraq" -- pardon me you stupid fuck? What YOU go through in Iraq? You are the terror bringers. It's not about what you go through, it's about what the people you terrorize have to go through. They are the victims of your occupation and genocide. You brought it upon them and you keep it upon them. You go through nothing, though you deserve the worst.
Chris Scheuerman Sr., father of a mercenary bragged about how their whole family is a family of soldiers. Like being a family a murderers and terror spreaders is something to brag about or be proud of. He's a perfect example of a parent in denial, a parent who does not care one bit about the lives his son destroyed. All he cares about is his monster son himself. If his son was as selfish, then it's only right that he's fucking dead like he deserves to be. Pathetic piece of shit.
Piece of shit failed woman, mother of Nathan Damigo is so in denial about her abominable kid, it was puke worthy. She brought up a complete shit worm of a son. I wonder how many children he had raped, cause his eyes tell a story of endless suffering he had caused and pleasure he drew from it. He said:
I've seen humanity at its worst...
If you're able to read between the lines, it should be clear beyond all doubt to you that what he means by "humanity" are really the mercenaries, the terror spreaders, the child rapists, the mass murderers. He was one of them. He's seen the "humanity" at its worst, because he was part of it, part of doing the "worst".

What is PTSD? In this short video we go give you an overview of PTSD works and try to address and answer the question 'what is post traumatic stress disorder?'
Basically PTSD is a condition that develops after a person has gone through a terrifying experience. Often it involves a life threatening situation where a person comes close to death.
PTSD previously was used only to refer to war veterans who returned with symptoms of PTSD but these days many experts diagnose PTSD in individuals for a variety of different reasons and traumatic events.
These events can include things like physical abuse, torture, natural disasters and more - all of which can lead to a person feeling emotionally numb making it hard for them to express true affection.
If you suspect that either yourself or a loved one may be suffering from post traumatic stress disorder than expert psychological help should be sought out.

Cogen Nelson lives with post-traumatic stress disorder. The 29-year-old served in two deployments with the U.S. Marine Corps and endured experiences that have stayed with him in retirement.
“You have this feeling of guilt. You have this feeling of, ‘Can I live with some of the decisions I’ve made?’ Just that burden of the stuff you saw, the stuff you’ve been through,” Nelson explains. “You can’t sleep. You’re having horrible nightmares. … You don’t do anything. You don’t want to do anything.”
Aside from the mental scars, Nelson was left with physical ailments as well. When a vehicle he was in struck an IED, Nelson endured fractured vertebrae and a broken wrist. Today, he is left with two cysts on his brain, issues with balance and coordination, and short- and long-term memory loss.
When Nelson found CrossFit, the bond was instant, he says. Eventually, he and his wife, Sara, opened House of CrossFit—a natural progression, Sara says.
“Cogen doesn’t need to work,” Sara says. “He could stay at home and take his medicine and do nothing. … But it was like that wasn’t good enough for him, and he wanted more. Him CrossFitting and wanting to be better, it was just a natural progression, in my opinion, of him saying, ‘I want to be a better athlete, and now I want to coach and make others better athletes.’”
Admitting he’s always had an urge to serve, Cogen says owning his affiliate gives him purpose and drive.
“It’s given me a coping mechanism,” he says, “a way to help.”
He added: “For me, it’s worked better than any medication that the doctors have put me on. I can say, without a doubt, CrossFit saved my life.”

Today I finally talk about something you have all been asking for! Complex PTSD. What is it and what do we do if we have it?
Now complex PTSD isn't something that is in the DSM. The Veteran's Administration and the center for PTSD lobbied to get this diagnosis put into the DMS 5 but the APA did not agree, and so we only have PTSD (mild, moderate, & severe) to work with. That doesn't meant that we cannot better understand the depths of PTSD and what repeated trauma can do to a person and their life.
When someone is repeatedly traumatized (ie. in war, abused for long periods of time, etc) it can make relationships afterward very difficult. They state that those who suffer from complex PTSD have more issues with:
1. emotion regulation
2.forgetting traumatic events completely
3. self-perception (feel very ashamed and guilty for struggling with this and not feeling "okay" like everyone else).
4. Distorted perceptions of their perpetrators
5. Relations with others (they may isolate or struggle to trust people)
6. Their own sense of meaning (may feel hopeless and struggle to have faith).
The treatment is pretty much the same as it is for PTSD, however there is an intense focus on interpersonal difficulties. They focus on this because those with repeated trauma have more trouble trusting, not lashing out, feeling safe, and managing their feelings of shame and guilt. By focusing on these things, we can hopefully help those with Complex PTSD better understand their situation and manage their relationships.
I hope this not only helps those of use struggling with this, but also raise awareness for the seriousness of it so it can be taught and better managed by professionals.

Frank Leto, Uniformed Fire Officers Association Local 854

Narcissism CPTSD Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a potentially devastating condition brought on by trauma. This can be from the stress of war, shootings, catastrophic burns, loss of a child, paralyzing accidents, athletic injuries, emotional trauma or financial ruin.
I directed this award-winning, feature-length documentary to try and help those suffering with PTSD find their way out. The film doesn't feature my advice. It is powerfully told by 10 survivors of horrific trauma and their families. Together, they list 17 guidelines back to health, happiness and a prosperous life. After escaping PTSD's brutal grip, they offer practical, crucial advice for millions of trauma victims, their families and friends worldwide.

PTSD (aka 'Post Traumatic Stress Disorder') can affect many individuals and make it hard for them to leave a normal life if left untreated. To help you to determine whether you or a loved one may be suffering from PTSD this video will go over the most common PTSD symptoms and signs to look out for.
Some of these post traumatic stress disorder symptoms include things like becoming emotionally numb and unable to connect with others or to show real affection, preferring to always be alone and without others and to feel constantly in a state of discomfort or panic.
People suffering from PTSD often tend to lose interest in things that they used to enjoy doing and can even lose interest in life as a whole.
Another symptom of PTSD can sometimes be violent outburst even for people who aren't know to be violent people.
Perhaps one of the worst and most life hindering symptoms of PTSD however is the flashbacks that a sufferer can go through where they are taken back to the time or place of the even that scarred them because of a simple trigger or event.
If you or somebody that you know is showing signs of PTSD then professional help should be sought out immediately.

Psychology Lecture on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder week 8 by Steve Joordens
This course will highlight the most interesting experiments within the field of psychology, discussing the implications of those studies for our understanding of the human mind and human behavior. We will explore the brain and some of the cognitive abilities it supports like memory, learning, attention, perception and consciousness. We will examine human development - both in terms of growing up and growing old - and will discuss the manner in which the behavior of others affect our own thoughts and behavior. Finally we will discuss various forms of mental illness and the treatments that are used to help those who suffer from them.
The fact of the matter is that humans routinely do amazing things without appreciating how interesting they are. However, we are also routinely influenced by people and events without always being aware of those influences. By the end of this course you will have gained a much better understanding and appreciation of who you are and how you work. Some of our objectives are to:
Demonstrate foundational knowledge in the field of psychology through our discussions and activities
Outline and discuss the breadth of the study of human behaviour
Demonstrate knowledge of the scientific method through manipulating data and identifying the ways data is used to support claims
Critically assess and compare research findings
I can guarantee you that you'll learn things that you'll be telling your friends and family about, things that will fundamentally change the way you think of yourself and others. How can you resist that?!

Take orders well when trained.
This can be very comfortable for a Servicemember or Veteran who was used to giving orders in the military.
Are fun and can help reduce stress.
Are a good reason to get out of the house, spend time outdoors, and meet new people.

Wartorn HBO Documentary About PTSD
Wartorn HBO Documentary About PTSD

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder: Finding Purpose Through CrossFit
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder: Finding Purpose Through CrossFit

COMPLEX PTSD - Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
COMPLEX PTSD - Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

K-9 Pets for Vets is a program to honor the servicemen and women who are still suffering from the conflicts of war. For many the return home is not the end of the battle. Many of our veterans are diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) from their tours of duty. Easing back into society is difficult.
One promising aid is the use of service dogs who have a healing effect on people diagnosed with PTSD. Dogs can make great pets. Having a dog as a pet can benefit anyone who likes dogs, including people with PTSD.
For example, dogs:
Help bring out feelings of love. Are good companions.
Take orders well when trained.
This can be very comfortable for a Servicemember or Veteran who was used to giving orders in the military.
Are fun and can help reduce stress.
Are a good reason to get out of the house, spend time outdoors, and meet new people.
