The term melodrama refers to a dramatic work that exaggerates plot and characters in order to appeal to the emotions. It may also refer to the genre which includes such works, or to language, behavior, or events which resemble them. It is usually based around having the same character traits, e.g. a hero (always the fearless one), heroine (the love of the hero, usually the one that the hero saves), villain (usually likes the heroine too) and villain's sidekick (typically gets in the way of the Villain). It is also used in scholarly and historical musical contexts to refer to dramas of the 18th and 19th centuries in which orchestral music or song was used to accompany the action. The term originated from the early 19th-century French word mélodrame, which is derived from Greek melos, music, and French drame, drama (from Late Latin drāma, which in turn derives from Greek drān, to do, perform). An alternative English spelling, now obsolete, is "melodrame".
Padre Vicente Garcia is a Filipino priest, hero and a defender of Dr. Jose P. Rizal.
Padre Garcia was born in the village of Maugat, formerly a part of Rosario but now a barangay of Padre Garcia, on April 5, 1817 to parents Don Jose Garcia and Dona Andrea Teodoro. His family belonged to the upper classes and had Castilian blood. The faint photograph of the man among the exhibits in the town hall show a handsome mestizo. Another proof was that Vicente went to study for the priesthood while pure-blooded Filipinos at that time were not able to study because of poverty and discrimination.
Garcia suffered discrimination from his Spanish superiors because although he was nominated for the position of Canonigo Magistral, he didn't occupy it. The colonizers didn't see fit to have an indio even if he is a mestizo in any exalted position.
There are anecdotes of his admirable qualities such as his kindness and generosity and his proficiency in Spanish and Latin. He was himself a writer who translated Spanish and Latin literary pieces. One of his more notable works was his translation from the original Latin to Tagalog of the Imitacion de Cristo.
Andrea Bocelli, OMRI, OMDSM (Italian pronunciation: [anˈdrɛːa boˈtʃɛlli]; born 22 September 1958) is an Italian tenor, multi-instrumentalist and classical crossover artist. Born with poor eyesight, he became blind at the age of twelve following a football accident.
Since winning the Newcomers section of the Sanremo Music Festival in 1994, Bocelli has recorded thirteen solo studio albums, of both pop and classical music, two greatest hits albums, and eight complete operas, selling over 75 million records worldwide. Thus, he is the biggest-selling solo artist in the history of classical music and has caused core classical repertoire to "cross over" to the top of international pop charts and into previously uncharted territory in popular culture.
In 1998, he was named one of People Magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People. In 1999, his nomination for Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards marked the first, and so far only time a classical artist had been nominated in the category, since Leontyne Price, in 1961.The Prayer, his duet with Celine Dion for the animated film The Quest for Camelot, won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song and was nominated for an Academy Award in the same category. With the release of his classical album, Sacred Arias, Bocelli captured a listing in the Guinness Book of World Records, as he simultaneously held the top 3 positions on the US classical albums charts. Six of his albums have since reached the Top 10 on the Billboard 200, and a record-setting 8, have topped the classical albums charts in the United States.
Oliver Huntemann (born June 19, 1968, Hannover, Germany) is a German electronic music producer and internationally-touring DJ.
Raised in Oldenburg in northern Germany, Oliver Huntemann soon displayed an interest in contemporary music. He began taping radio shows and buying his first singles, as well as experimenting with a pair of belt-driven turntables. As a 10 year old in the late Seventies, the young Oliver Huntemann was profoundly influenced by rap, graffiti and breakdance and key protagonists such as Afrika Bambaataa, Grandmaster Flash and Whodini. Films like Beat Street and Wild Style aroused his curiosity with regard to breakdancing and DJing. At age 14, Huntemann started spinning discs in public.[citation needed]
From 1984 to 1990, Huntemann trained in electronic engineering with the German Navy. Later, he worked editing, initially on a voluntary basis, a Bremen listings magazine. In the late Eighties, Huntemann started organizing electronic acid house music events in his home town of Oldenburg where he made the acquaintance of DJ and sound engineer Gerret Frerichs. The early sessions in Frerichs' studio, aided by jazz musician H.G. Schmidt, led to the creation of the Humate project. Their first singles, "Chrome" (1992) and "Love Simulation" (1993) were released on the MFS label in Berlin.
Into the the disco is where you will soon go
will you for pleasure, give up your treasure
I know it's a lie but you can not seem to resist
melodrama
::surrender surrender surrender:: [repeat 2x]
I know it's so sleazy but you cannot resist because
it's so easy
::surrender surrender surrender:: [repeat 2x]
Into the the disco is where you will soon go
Soft as a feather, you come off just like leather
I know it's a lie but you can not seem to resist
melodrama
::surrender surrender surrender:: [repeat 2x]
I know it's so sleazy but you cannot resist because
it's so easy
::surrender surrender surrender:: [repeat 2x]
Dancefloor breakdown
Penthouse shakedown
White line in a half moon
Famous in a bathroom
It's so sad, I want to meet you
I'm so glad, I got to meet you
Let's go to the disco for melodrama [repeat 4x]
::surrender surrender surrender:: [repeat 2x]
You will surrender, You will surrender
Goodbye Jane, Goodbye
What did we do to lose our magic world
And what did you mean when you said nothing at all
If I wrote this lifetime you would be tragic girl
Cuz that's how this story ends
So, Goodbye Jane, Goodbye
And goodbye to the games that we play, it's the same
damn pain every single
day
You fly through the sky in a plane and I'm stuck in a
broken down subway
train
I never said a word to myself or to you, when you left
me alone and you left
me so blue
But now I have one more word for you
Goodbye Jane, Goodbye
For so many years I was under the shadow of our bliss
A crushing moon eclipsed our sun and it's this that I
still miss
The landscape of my heart is now under the stars, I
wish for everything you
are
But now my old dreams are turning dark
What did we do to lose our magic world
And what did you mean when you said nothing at all
I never said a word to myself or to you, when you left
me alone and you left
me blue
But now I have one more word for you
Goodbye Jane, Goodbye
