Dame Catherine Cookson DBE (née McMullen) (27 June 1906 – 11 June 1998) was a British author. She became the United Kingdom's most widely read novelist, with sales topping 100 million, while retaining a relatively low profile in the world of celebrity writers. Her books were inspired by her deprived youth in North East England, the setting for her novels.
Born as Catherine Ann McMullen at 5 Leam Lane in Tyne Dock, South Shields, County Durham, she was known as "Kate" as a child. She moved to East Jarrow, County Durham which would become the setting for one of her best-known novels, The Fifteen Streets. The illegitimate child of an alcoholic named Kate Fawcett, she grew up thinking her unmarried mother was her sister, as she was brought up by her grandparents, Rose and John McMullen. Biographer Kathleen Jones tracked down her father, whose name was Alexander Davies, a bigamist and gambler from Lancashire.[citation needed]
She left school at 13 and, after a period of domestic service, took a laundry job at Harton Workhouse in South Shields. In 1929, she moved south to run the laundry at Hastings Workhouse, saving every penny to buy a large Victorian house, and then taking in lodgers to supplement her income.

But if need be, we'll bang out like Bloods and Crips

And all my niggaz that live it from hood to hood bang to this, nigga

Cause I'ma put it in a rhyme, everytime, about to spray up your crew

Now once with 45 nigga I had a picture on top of the coffin
Murder Inc. bosses
The life, the life (the life, the life ...)
Whether your Blood or cuz we all gangsta
The life, the life (the life, the life ...)
Whether it's dope or coke we all slang drugs
The life, the life (the life, the life ...)
Whether your hoein or stuck up, we're still gon' fuck
The life, the life (the life, the life ...)

So when I squeeze I'm turnin your whole block to a parking lot
Understand I'm the grimy Floy
Wanna trip to death then try me for it
Crazy since '94, that's why cats don't hang around me like Chinese stores
One step ahead of you, get more guys
You strapped with four fours, we pack four fives
Fuck talk get the chalk out
You'll be lucky if your able to crawl or walk out
I'm in the pop life
so when I pop up in your life, and I pop twice
Get down, I spits more than rounds

This sound gotta movin "Faster Than Furious"
But nah I ain't Ludacris
I'm here to let y'all niggaz know I ain't new to this
Gun butt your bitch
That's the way I get down, believe my style is Murder
Clap a nigga, dipped and hide the burner
The rule to learn ya bomb ya like embalmin fluid
Until your limbs feel a loss of movement
In the hospital in critical livin
Must minimal (who done it?) it's Murder
Yeah, that's subliminal
Who gets down and bangs with nothin but criminals (c'mon, c'mon)
Rule nigga you know it, these others cats is pitiful
Bein a rap God is spiritual
Your God is Ja Rule nigga let's not get it confused, haha
It was early one mornin', Playa del Carmen
That's when I first met Jose
He had a 12 foot Schooner, a 3 foot cooler
Full of the catch of the day
And he was wrinkled from grinnin'
From all of the sun he had been in
He was barefoot, cerveza in hand
He said gracias senor when I paid him too much for
All of the Snapper he had
Now I told him my friend it ain't nothin'
In the best broken Spanish I knew
I said I make a good livin' back home where I'm from
He smiled and said amigo me too
He said I fish and I play my guitar
I laugh at the bar with my friends
I go home to my wife, I pray every night
I can do it all over again
Somewhere over Texas I thought of my Lexus
And all the stuff I work so hard for
And all the things that I've gathered from climbing that ladder
Didn't make much sense anymore
They say my nest egg ain't ready to hatch yet
They keep holding my feet to the fire
They call it paying the price so that one day in life
I'll have what I need to retire
And just fish and play my guitar
And laugh at the bar with my friends
Go home to my wife and pray every night
I can do it all over again
And to think that I thought for a while there that I had it made
When the truth is I'm really just dying to live like Jose
And just fish, play my guitar
And laugh at the bar with my friends
Go home to my wife and pray every night
I can do it all over again
Wouldn't that be the life?
Everyday I realize that this might be the last day of my life
Walking down the street I find that I'm coming closer and closer to losing my mind
'Cause when it rains, it pours
Isn't life worth more? I don't even know what I'm hustlin' for
You've gotta do what you gotta do just to make it through
All the hard times that's going to face you
This is the life, trying to survive
This is the life, trying to survive
Living will always be a struggle looking for someone to love you
Looking back at single horrors, this madness makes me want to hide
Slowly, internally, I'm dying
Pillow case is wet from all my crying
There is nothing more for me to live for
Take me away, I can't live that life no more
This is the life, trying to survive
This is the life, trying to survive
This is the life, trying to survive
This is the life, trying to survive
This is the life, trying to survive
This is the life, trying to survive
Just because I'm all G'd up, doesn't
mean I'm out to cut
Just because,boo,I got game,doesn't
mean I'll forget your name
Because I push a 6, doesn't mean I'll ego trip
It's hard to believe a playa like me,could treat
you like a lady ....... Just Because
Hearing my name every other day,
people gonna say what they wanna say
But they don't really know me babe,
hate on me 'cause a brother paid
Only known you for a short time, things that you're
hearing weighing on my mind
If you feel me, here's what I suggest, let
me put your fears to rest
Baby I admit it, I usrd to, hit it and
I quit it
But I' trying to, learn to be committed, to
you and only, I'm your man
Just because I'm all G'd up, doesn't
mean I'm out to cut
Just because,boo,I got game,doesn't
mean I'll forget your name
Because I push a 6, doesn't mean I'll ego trip
It's hard to believe a playa like me,could treat
you like a lady ....... Just Because
I can understand why you're insecure, doing
all I can just to reassure
Seeing all these women at my stage door, screaming
'G' is the one that we're here for
I know if we go by my history, this might be
hard to believe
But they don't mean a thing to me, I am
still the same ol' 'G'
Baby I admit it, I usrd to, hit it and
I quit it
But I' trying to, learn to be committed, to
you and only, I'm your man
Just because I'm all G'd up, doesn't
mean I'm out to cut
Just because,boo,I got game,doesn't
mean I'll forget your name
Because I push a 6, doesn't mean I'll ego trip
It's hard to believe a playa like me,could treat
you like a lady ....... Just Because
You're the one I wanted, 'cause them
other chicks
Couldn't much on it, see you kept it real
So you're gonna get rewarded, no doubt,
I'm your man... check it out
Baby I admit it, I usrd to, hit it and
I quit it
But I' trying to, learn to be committed, to
you and only, I'm your man
Oh, come here, babe
Just because I'm all G'd up, doesn't
mean I'm out to cut
Just because,boo,I got game,doesn't
mean I'll forget your name
Because I push a 6, doesn't mean I'll ego trip
It's hard to believe a playa like me,could treat
you like a lady ....... Just Because
Just because I'm all G'd up, doesn't
mean I'm out to cut
Just because,boo,I got game,doesn't
mean I'll forget your name
Because I push a 6, doesn't mean I'll ego trip
It's hard to believe a playa like me,could treat
you like a lady ....... Just Because
Just because I'm all G'd up, doesn't
mean I'm out to cut
Just because,boo,I got game,doesn't
mean I'll forget your name
Because I push a 6, doesn't mean I'll ego trip
It's hard to believe a playa like me,could treat
you like a lady ....... Just Because
Michael Card
How did it feel to take the place
Of honor at the meal
To take the sop from His own hand
A prophesy to seal
Was it because He washed your feet
That you sold Him as a slave
The Son of Man, the Lamb of God
Who'd only come to save
The silver that they paid to you
From out their precious till
Was meant to buy a spotless lamb
A sacrifice to kill
How heavy was the money bag
That couldn't set you free
It became a heavy millstone
As you fell into the sea
Now Judas don't you come too close
I fear that I might see
That traitor's look upon your face
Might look too much like me
Cause just like you I've sold the Lord
And often for much less
And like a wretched traitor
I betrayed Him with a kiss
Friday comes, the week it moves so slow-It's a hard day
at work waiting for the whistle to blow! Money in my
pocket, ready to start the night-Gonna hook up with the
boys, we're gonna drink and fight!
Friday night the boys are out-We're gonna scream, we're
gonna shout! Put in the tap, let the keg flow-Crank the
music as loud as it goes!
Steelcapped boots with a shine-Waiting for someone to
step outta line! St. Paul skin, bred to fight-To us all
this is the life!
Kiss my girl and tell her it's time to bail-If I'm in
trouble I'll call her from jail! Round up the boys and
load 'em in the trucks-It's street cleaning time,
someone's gonna be outta luck!

Light up the night up, now let's get it going
To the mothafucking top, I don't mothafucking stop
Till we find life out there and setup shop
Party rocking, bottles popping at Henny and Mo'
It's like 500 bitches now we're having a bowl
Got a gun, screwdriver, a knife, and a shank
Plus I break face bones with my platinum rings
It's a ghetto love story I'm in love with life
Of the rich and Infamous, Ferrari's and Ice
Lamborghini bikes, they ain't make those yet
I'm still waiting for that 700 Benz
I do it for my niggas in the dead and in the pens
Just when you think this shit's over
That's when this shit begins
This the Bronx, this Harlem, Brooklyn and Queens
That 'New York State of Mind' where you're popping 'em thangs
The violence don't stop

Check it, from catchin buses and cabs
Pen and pads in the lav
Sippin genuine drafts and no cash
I ain't the first and I'll be damned if I'm the last
Roosevelt drive, clay courts from Cliffs to AZ
Aiyyo wassup how you feel Me I'm chill
But I'm still tryin to make a mill Inside Sharon Hill
From where I stand I see it's time to expand
To foreign lands for hundreds of grands and white sands
You know it's about that time
Niggaz set and prepare your rhymes
Start off and a little after nine, bump n grind
Sexual, young intellectual
With a whole lot of life to live, just a child
It's 2-5-2-5 little town of shit
You can call a Sharon Hill and a dogg be town shit
I wouldn't break bad if you come from out of town
Cuz I'm down by law and I'm from Tha Deuce Pound
Having to survive living in the life
Got to stay alive living in the life
Have to survive
Living in the life
Yo, so how you want it, you want silence or violence
Plus, me and my crew shine like the N on New Balance
The most talent where girls fly
They hopin champagne gets pop and it don't stop
These jealous cat cut G's keroodle with top
We can cruise the city block like yachts
Y'all niggaz worse than the cops
Before I smoke, I tote my first tote
A fool or here sneakin young bulls red bulls
Me K-I-D, the elite MC
From the hill, got my top chopped by a tree
On the hill, too young to flare one
It's all about rhymes and fair ones
Show me the mic and bust like a flair gun
Don't shove me or push me, I give sucka punches
Now what's the deal
You sucka cats be wildin and wanna fool now
And pull the tool now Why can't we keep it on the cool now
I make a new route to get my crew out My peeps no doubt
And then when school out, it probably when the album's due out
And when you see me, the cream from my pocket ooze out
Forever player and winner and never lose out
Tell me do you remember (Yeah, I remember back when)
When Conway Park (Yeah, I remember back then)
Sneakin in the firehouse, the fun begins (Next week, instead of then)
And I'm be sneakin again
See back in the day, it was all about flows
Coolin out the T-la rock and mic stroll
I go next door to see my nigga Man Bang
Sneak in the basement, couple sips of Ing Bing
I feel all right, I could rock all night
No plots and schemes, just million dollar dreams
Money like a mothafucka Homie gimme mine's paid
I come stompin like a parade, the escapade
Psychotic anolyisis as I consume a whole carton of mushrooms
We clear sight, the day lights like the night
A closet full of Franklin's, a G's paradise
A nice 40 ounce of O-E on ice
Precise poetical poltergeist on mics
Well, it's the El baby, baby The El baby baby
The one that rocks you so well baby baby
Many brains I feed, another thought conceive
Yes indeed Drex ya heed will make yo body bleed
The intellectual seed, knowledge be growin like weeds
Money stash from crack, you can't determine the speed
I'm a rap fiend, they gleams like the head of Carene
I'm extreme but never fade like acid jeans, I mean

Stay tough like armadilgas and that's on the for real-a
Pop dukes will call me killer casualties with ease
The world will spend a million G's savin dyin MC's
Now you got mad love for Shahi Raffi
I'm in knee deep and peace the bull and meet me
Kurupt: To my nigga Kel El, Escoball, what all up in this piece
El Drex: 2-5-2-5 little town of shit
You can call a Sharon Hill and a dogg be town shit
I wouldn't break bad if you come from out of town
Cuz I'm down by law and I'm from Tha Deuce Pound
Deuce Pound Deuce Pound Deuce Pound Deuce Pound
A town with no recreation
It's getting late and something is waiting in the city tonight
This place is crazy and it makes me wanna fuck up my mind
I like the lights the trippy lights and all the pornographic stores
I light this thing as they complain about the junkies and the whores
When I was younge I dreamed I'd come here and I guess I did
Surivive the scum and I'd become someone but never did
These village slums I let become my life I guess I did
I'm just a bum pathetic scum thats just the way I live
This is the life
You want the life
It's getting late and guess who's playing in the city tonight
This place is amazing and it makes me wanna fucking get high
I love the way te buildings sway and all the garbage on the streets
The sounds of trains and sirens make lovely music while I sleep
I'm going farther than I ever thought far could be
By 21 I had a gun and ditched authority
At 22 I never knew the sights I would see
At 24 I made the score that killed that part of me
This is the life
You want the life
My life, Pharoahe Monch, Ayatollah, Howie McDuffy
Holiday Styles, Double R, Rawkus Records
Pharoahe talk to 'em, let 'em try to understand
Let 'em try, let 'em try now
My life is all I have
My rhymes, my pen, my pad
An' I done made it through the struggle, don't judge me
What you say now, won't budge me
'Cuz where I come from, so often
People you grew up with layin' in a coffin
But I done made it through the pain in strife
It's my time now, my world, my life
My life is based on lightin' blunts, loadin' guns
Tellin' my lawyers to get the case gone
I need the bills that the presidents got they face on
So I can switch my residence, get a truck an' a Lex
Fuck a check, I no longer have to wait for 'em
I made a couple ends, lost a couple friends
I light a blunt 'cuz never will the struggle end
So you can judge a nigga, but you ain't got it
You ain't in the role
So you really can't budge a nigga, you oughta love a nigga
For the fact that it's my world
An' my life but still I'm a rugged nigga
They say you buggin', nigga, fuck it, I'm a thuggin' nigga
You talkin' bullshit, then kick it with another nigga
I got a bigger bed an' I need a cover, nigga
An' I ain't got friends, I got enemies
So if they with me, then that means they my brother, niggaz
My life is all I have
My rhymes, my pen, my pad
An' I done made it through the struggle, don't judge me
What you say now, won't budge me
'Cuz where I come from, so often
People you grew up with layin' in a coffin
But I done made it through the pain in strife
It's my time now, my world, my life
My life is a blunt to the head, a prayer for the dead
Run around hustlin', scared of the Feds
They said death is eternal sleep
But the only thing is you ain't really sure
If you prepared for the bed
So often we get merked in the head, instead of big money
They got big Momma hurtin' instead
My life is makin' the verse, but the handcuffs
The bullpens, the jail cells is makin' it worse
Tell Mommy I don't go to the church
Tell Oc' I don't go to mosque, I blow blunts, hold guns
An' I'ma be right there when the soldiers'll march
I play the part an' my heart seem colder than March
But on the flip side of things, it's still warmer than June
I have talks with the Lord an' he'll be callin' me soon, what?
An' my life is all I have
My family, my niggaz, my flow, my grabs, what?
My life is all I have
My rhymes, my pen, my pad
An' I done made it through the struggle, don't judge me
What you say now, won't budge me
'Cuz where I come from, so often
People you grew up with layin' in a coffin
But I done made it through the pain in strife
It's my time now, my world, my life
I'm leaving tonight down the same dirt road
A million times I've driven just to get home
And I ain't ever looking back
For nothing
Headed for the coast, looking for the high life
Everybody knows it's nothing but a good time
And I sold everything I had for something
I can't seem to find
So this is the life they talked about
This is the "I can't live without"
When the real world crashes down
Oh, if they could see me now
When all the dreams of on your own
Turn to nightmares all alone
It hits you right between the eyes
This is the life, this is the life, oh
These four walls feel more like a prison
Instead of paradise I couldn't wait to live in
So I just drink myself
To sleep again
I can't escape my mind, this ain't like a movie
It's getting hard to hide, the more it's doin' to me
Don't know how long I can keep
I'm going crazy all the time
So this is the life they talked about
So this is the "I can't live without"
When the real world crashes down
Oh, if they could see me now
When all the dreams of on your own
Turn to nightmares all alone
It hits you right between the eyes
This is the life, oh
Nothing is ever what it seems
Maybe that grass ain't so green
Nothing's ever out of reach
When you're seventeen
This is the life they talked about
This is the "I can't live without"
When the real world crashes down
Oh, if they could see me now
When all the dreams of on your own
Turn to nightmares all alone
It hits you right between the eyes
I got this no good, dead wood, motherfucking itch and i am going to hell
They got this small pen, fat pig, 2 foot by one and it's beginning to smell
I got this low-brow, white trash smoking my tongue and i'm being kissed
Like a kid
They got this hi-fi, big sound bleeding my ears and i can't get rid
I got the life
I never thought
That i'd be born with
But now i'm itching
For you to scratch me
Like all the records that your needle has worn
I got a six-pack, big ship no deck kid who couldn't write when he sung
He took a mic in his hand like a prick on a rope and waited there to be swung
They got this big light, white wash spot on his tan and watched it burning
His skin
And then the hi-fi, white trash smoking my ear
Got his face kicked in
I got the life
I never thought
That i'd be born with
But now i'm itching
For you to scratch me
Like all the records that your needle has worn
With the screen round my face, covered in light
I will never go blind
I got this cable satellite nibbling my eyes
But i can't switch off my mind
I got this low-brow, white trash licking my skull
And it feels so good
It's got this big pull, half-full little buzz
That i've misunderstood
I got the life
I never thought
That i'd be born with
But now i'm itching
For you to scratch me
[Rapper Big Pooh:]
Uh, y'know, I'm looking back right
I'm looking over my life and shit
I used to do some crazy shit man
I used to do some wild shit yo
I used to think crazy and shit y'know?
Hah, yeah
Aiyyo, I've been even-kilt [? ] all of my life
From a very young age learnt wrong from right
Never weighed in my decision when I took that bike
Chain popped, got caught, couldn't make that flight
I done shaved too many steps, got tripped by sight
Spent one too many minutes with the cops that night
I preferred a cold cell to the hell my mama raised
I did it for the thrill cause not every crime pays
Ten years old, I was going through a phase
My uncle said chill 'fore you wind up in the cage
I smirked, cause a little finger printing ain't hurt
A few weeks passed, I was back in them streets
A devious child, I appeared so sweet
A straight-A student every parent wanna meet
But looking back now, all I do is smile
Little boy became a man, see I landed on my feet
My life
[Chorus: Mushinah]
Life is moving by so fast
And we can never guess what's next
And I understand it at last
At laaaaaaast
[Rapper Big Pooh:]
By the age of fourteen I straightened a little bit
It's high school time and I'm off the new shit
We moved out of town and I found me a new clique
A few chill niggas I can be cool with
Went to school with the intentions of being on the end
Found myself out smoking weed, drinking gin
Wild Irish Rose, Mad Dog 20/20
Scheming up ways I can come into some money
The age of sixteen started playing with the words
Round the same time Ronnie playing with the birds
He offered me a job, I ain't really had a nerve
Selling narcotics from me wanting the curve
Dove into music, gambled away money
Through my man Mike, met this new little honey
Funny, all I can do now is smile
Tryna become a man but I'm still largest child
My life
[Chorus: Mushinah]
[Rapper Big Pooh:]
So now I'm eighteen, me and my mom beefing
Talking bout arguing over shit for no reason
Part-time job with a part-time scam
Sliding through school but passing I am
No life plans, I just wanna be grown
Out my mama house, living life on my own
Coming to the crib when she leaving out for work
Sleeping through the day, waking up getting burnt
I know I knew better but I still told lies
Mama still loved her little boy, no ties
"Son you need to straighten up before your demise"
Saw the truth in them words when I stared in her eyes
That was no surprise when she looking at her child
Fully-grown man, no more out acting wild
All I do is smile looking back at my past
A young'n no more, it's my life at last
My life
[Chorus: Mushinah]
[Mushinah: x2]
It's my liiiife, my liiiife
It's a new day in the rap game!
Nobody sells records but Shyne Po!
My life had it's ups and downs, but I don't regret nothin'
I had the whole tri-state high, nigga I ain't frontin'
at Fifteen I sold my first bag of dope
used to stick Dominicans, burner under the coat
gettin' like 15 grams, a half a Ki
at Fifteen man, a nigga just glad to be
gettin' some shorts, me and my Man from a Hundred and Fifth
he knew some Dominican niggas that wanted a clique
to hold 'em down, shoot niggas in the head
throw 'em out windows if they were late with the bread
basically I'm enforcin'
around heavy coke, when nobody's lookin' I'd be dippin' in the portion
they wasn't missin' it
so I got my hustle on the side, flippin' it
sellin' like 500 bottles and Nicks, started minor
but I always knew I'd turn a big apple into cider.
Niggas...niggas just ain't built like me...
stand up niggas...since 15
I been servin' fiends and loadin' magazines...
takin' shots..burnin' blocks..
this ain't no fuckin' rap.
Everything was everything 'till my Man got pinched
he had a shoot-out with the cops in front of the precinct
other than that, I went from enforcer to movin' product, straight white
powder now, gettin' it
the hardest nigga in the street
my first car was a 190 Benz with Louie Vaton seats
buyin' out the bar at the rooftop
I had a few spots
one called the jukebox
where I was gettin' like 50 a brick
2 or 3 bricks a day, makin' mothafuckas sick
my Cousin Ron a crook from the Brook was torchin'
any niggas whisperin' or talkin' 'bout extortion
shit was goin' right and only one better
when I got my Italian connect, hittin' me with pure Heroin
moved to 116th, started seein' real dinero then
empire buildin', the shit was takin' flight
had my bitches cuttin' up like 10 Ki's a night
mixin' lactose, Bonita, and Quenii
I was the first Black nigga with mafia ties
leased my soul to the Devil with the option to buy.
Yo..bangin' for real..
niggas is thinkin' rap, I'm thinkin' laundromat..
we washin' this money...
you think this shit is about rhymes...
you'll find yourself under the fuckin' ground...you know?..
we get low when the Feds is in town..
this is justice..
we playin' the pop charts and still lettin' them things pop off...
At 21 I was a legend, had the game transformed
controllin' manufacturin' and distribution of Heron
throughout the tri-state, high stakes
I spent Hundreds of Thou's out of paper bags
you couldn't name a car I ain't have
every minute new tags
Seven series to the Five-Sixty drop nigga
I was givin' away blocks nigga
fast cars, fast money, slow deaths
this things of ours
had me doin' a hundred miles an hour
through the City evadin' the Feds
started this shit called the counsel and we all made a pledge
not to fuck each others bitches
or touch each others riches
on top or broke
never break this oath
every nigga in the counsel was a boss
we used to put coke on our dick and make bitches suck it off
it was alright 'till I got caught
charged with an Eight-Forty-Eight
behind Marion steel gates
niggas started shittin', actin' bizarre
drivin' my cars, fuckin' my broads, breakin' the laws
same niggas I took care of and got money wit' was on some funny shit
if I was different I'd snitch
what would you do if you got Millions with niggas and they had no love
for ya?
couldn't pay for ya lawyer
I figured shit, why sit in a cell to rot?
I'll be out in Ten, start over again
throw those boys in the pot, but I couldn't do it
you couldn't understand it of you ain't been through it
there's rules to this shit and I couldn't break 'em
death before dishonor 'till I meet Satan...I know he's waitin'.
God forgive me...you've never seen a nigga like me in your life...
I'm what these lil' niggas rap about...
thats me they talkin' 'bout in they rhymes...
I did that time...I flipped that dime...
shoot-outs, jet planes, cocaine and automobiles...
[Verse 1:]
Nigga I'm a sign and tell, baby I'm a stunna
Got poppy on the line and we about to talk numbers
Suite full of bitches, squad full of shooters
Cartier frames, watch Franck Muller
Three piece Newman that I just got Tailor
E Saint Lebanon's shoes nigga I don't do gators
Passport stamp five first class tickets
And a trunk full of white, it's about to be Christmas
Catch a nigga poolside south beach mode
Prime 1 12 or the lobby of the load
Making wages out in Vegas while the feds taking
pictures
Bet it all in one road dawg ya can't take it with'cha
A nigga never slippin in the dash
I got medal of a Porsche 911 that'll raise the thront
level
Nigga this the life, I don't talk it cause I live it
Walk with a nigga let me teach you how to pive it, uh
[Hook:]
Boss of the bosses, G until they bury me

[Verse 2:]
Let me make it clear, this money I'm a pile high
Fuck it in my level, welcome to the mile high
Prices going sky high do as you directed it
Matta fact I am Wi-Fi baby I'm connected
Nigga I'm a ball off, I ain't try'na fall off
Presidential suite having dinner at the Waldorf
They try'na knock us all off, tell me if you with me
Crib in the birth nigga condo in the city
Birds in the trunk, first up out the kitchen
Catch a nigga sitting courtside balling down at
Phillip's
Move a couple chickens, I tell you what the ticket like
Brand new paper tag and I ain't pay the stick-up price
Welcome to a nigga life, tell me what'chu think of it
Bottles of that Rosay, Ion't even drink or sip
Sliding though the A, peaking through my tint
I'm going for the gold every day is an event, uh
This is the life and we live this to the fullest
Do whatever we like
They said that all I had to do was rap rap and rap again
Go ahead and get buh buh back to black again
Back to the future back to all that again
1980's stuff oh yeah all of that again
So here I go now I'm talking my stuff
Talking bout your shoe game and I'm a call your bluff
Talking bout your style then and I'm a pull you up
Just tossing out the talk when you ain't got none
Questions of [?] L.A. to Chicago
Fly is just fly even if you ain't a model
[?] and some [?] and you known for the bullshit
Keep it really real cause this is
The life and we live this to the fullest
Do whatever we like cause we young and we are foolish
So this one's for London yeah yeah
Wherever you came from yeah yeah
And this one's for Brooklyn yeah yeah
Then back but there ain't no tomorrow to come
They say I'm ever so clean to the point that she stank
So I said I would do a whole song of [?]
Stuck on the beat like Ye's on the track
Wack songs kinda [?] and I'm a [?]
I'm a say whatever I like cause that's me
You could take your opinions and eat cheese

Tiny with a temper I'm a get till I pass out
I wanna see who's really getting their clown on
So I'm a keep it this this real from now on
This is the life and we live this to the fullest
Do whatever we like cause we young and we are foolish
So this one's for London yeah yeah

So this one's for London yeah yeah
Wherever you came from yeah yeah
And this one's for Brooklyn yeah yeah

a strangled by ???
from difference
the window seat has become
an unreflected form of
blind forgiveness
i know you should be hearing this in person
but i'm not at home
and you're not here
so patiently i wait here by the phone
for your call
i fought life
and i cannot lie
i wish a ??? could cauterize
a self inflicted open wound
i know how to guess again
you say that's life
you say that's life
all i know
all i know is i'm hopeless
unless i am ripping for you
cause the life that you give me is wholesome
every day
i want to
f/ Pharoahe Monch
[Styles talking]
My life.. Pharoahe Monch.. Ayatollah..
Holiday Styles.. Double R.. Rawkus Records..
Pharoahe talk to 'em.. let 'em try to understand..
Let 'em try.. let 'em try now...
[Chorus: Pharoahe]
My life is all I have
My rhymes, my pen, my pad
And I done made it through the struggle, don't judge me
What you say now, won't budge me
Cuz where I come from, so often
People you grew up with, layin in a coffin
But I done made it through the pain in spite
It's my time now, my world, my life
My life...
[Styles]
Is based on, lightin blunts, loadin guns
tellin my lawyers to get the case gone (uh-huh)
I need the bills that the presidents got they face on
so I can switch my residence - get a truck and a Lex
Fuck a check, I no longer have to wait for 'em
I made a couple ends, lost a couple friends
I light a blunt cuz never will the struggle end
So you can judge a nigga, but you ain't got it, you ain't in the role
so you really can't budge a nigga - you oughta love a nigga
For the fact that it's my world and my life but still I'm a rugged nigga
They say you buggin nigga, fuck it, I'm a thuggin nigga
You talkin bullshit then kick it with another nigga
I got a bigger bed and I need a cover nigga
And I ain't got friends - I got enemies
So if they with me, then that means they my brother niggaz
[Chorus: Pharoahe]
[Styles]
Is a blunt to the head, a prayer for the dead
Run around hustlin, scared of the feds
They said death is eternal sleep
but the only thing is you ain't really sure if you prepared for the bed
So often we get merked in the head, instead of big money
They got big momma hurtin instead
My life is makin the verse - but the handcuffs
the bullpens, the jail cells is makin it worse
Tell mom I don't go to the church - tell Haq I dont' go to Mosque
I blow blunts, hold guns, and I'ma be right there when the soldiers'll march
I play the part, and my heart seem colder than March
But on the flipside of things, it's still warmer than June
I have talks with the Lord and he'll be callin me soon, what
And my life is all I have - my family, my niggaz, my flow, my grabs what
[Chorus: Pharoahe] - 2X
My life...
My life...
My life...
My life...
Drive tonight...without anywhere to go
Or place to call my home
Looking through time
I could see you...but never would feel you
The tears fell every time you refused me
This world always used me up inside
Never could find a true reason
To pass through this season
Now I gotta move on and survive
'Til I find "the life"
CHORUS:
Never again
I'm gonna leave all this behind
I've found the better life
Never again
Believe me when I say my goodbyes
I gotta have the life!
I say goodnight...To all that I thought I knew
Now I know what to do
Seeing the world for the first time
It won't be the last time
Now I gotta move on and survive
'Cause I found "the life"
Never again
I'm gonna leave all this behind
I've found the better life
Never again
Believe me when I say my goodbyes
I gotta have the life!
So scream in my face
You're already late
Now I can say
This is all I'll take
You've beat me down
I'm standing my ground
Never gonna give in
Won't break but I'll bend
Now I've gotta move on and survive
'Cause I've found "the life"
Never again
I'm gonna leave all this behind
I've found the better life
Never again
Believe me when I say my goodbyes
I gotta have the life!
The life
The life
I listened to you from your pedestal
Telling us all how your world was full of shit
Why couldn't you bow and say "Thank you all"
To everyone who made you what you are
It sent my heart, hurt, crashing down
Cuz these are my dreams you're bashing
You're living the life
Can't you see you are living the life?
You're living the life that I only dream
The kingdom you own, does it drag you down?
I'll gladly relieve you of your big shiny crown
You say it's so frustrating now
I can't believe you're faking
Living the life
Seems to me you are living the life
You're living the wonderful, wonderful life
Tell me (Tell me), Would you (Would you)
Really (Really), rather be a nobody, nobody knows?
You're living the life
Don't you see you are living the life?
You're living the life that I wanted
Living the life
Please don't tell me my dream is a lie
Cuz this is the way that I fill my heart
Fill my heart
Fly away home.
Go on and go.
Fly away home.
You're living the life
You're living the life that I wanted
You're Living the life
You're living the life that I wanted
That I wanted.
That I wanted.
This is the life
Everyone has to be somewhere
I am here
Testing a dream
The pressure of dreams is
The killer of dreams
And it only gets harder
And it only gets harder
This is the life
Everyone has to do something
I am here
Doing what I do best
Fearing that worry
Will trigger all my fears
And it only gets harder
And it only gets harder
(How did I get so serious)
Time is the monster
All of us fight the same monster
To win
I scream when I breath
But, this is the life
This is the life
This is the life
Chorus
Life is so difficult
It’s a virus of our problems
We don’t know how depict it
Life is the big game
You know how delete a segment
Life span is an exception
Rejoice your fortune and disappointment
Every person reaches various levels
Often we lose
Gasping with sufferings
But sometimes you can choose
Frequently I was sad
It’s time to show
How much I wept
Moving from place
People play chess
It does matter
That next step
Can become a success
This is a shape of the future
Somebody dies
Without confession
But my bosom survives
The outrage suits you like oxygen
Priests say that
Da most terrible thing is hell
This as the last dance
I don’t trow
And ready to squabble
You are full of fads
See the real anger
Thousands go west nowadays
We give a damn
People may kill but will never revitalize
Oh, it doesn’t concern us
Everyone would like to emerge unscathed
Our dream is to cash in
Forgetting other difficulties
Thou annihilate the moral
We all like the thrift
When people flatter our honor
Rarely believe in myth
And abhor being deceived
Chorus
Men can’t stand faithlessness
Thrashing women’s jacket
Carry on jilting your mistress
It’s better stay bachelor than tensed
Usually we don’t desire to find approach
But need to have a weal
Scratch me where thou itch
And I let the issue reveal
You stick like a leech
At no time affect to unsay
But worship to be extensive
Seeing how others decay
Paltry sovereign is the lord of our world
Rover has solely debility
Thou decide this is my carefree humor
Actually, tableau keeps inconstancy
Dweebs spread a rumor
Modern life offers you decoy
Liars win somebody’s favor
Avenger savors his victory
Hourly no one detects your labor
And soul becomes the enemy
Difficult to discover own harbor
When awareness passes away
It’s unlikely if a stranger understands the dolor
And what is more
That makes you bray
They say we're wasting time
Walking like we're blind
Our look
Trying to find the reason why
Our lines are so unpredictable
Pledge is not for sale
This one never fails
Not this time
I won't fail
This is our one shot
To break free from this lie
This is the life
This is the dream
And it's nothing as it seems
Every minute
Every second is so real
Now we're on the road
Playing sold out shows
And now they don't know
Who we are tonight
The crowd screams for one more
This is the life
This is the dream
And it's nothing as it seems
Every minute
Every second is so real
This is the life
This is the dream
And it's nothing as it seems
Every minute
Every second is so real
This is the life
This is the dream
And it's nothing as it seems
Every minute
Every second is so real
This is the life
This is the dream
And it's nothing as it seems
Every minute
Every second is so real
This is the life
This is the dream
And it's nothing as it seems
Every minute
Come on, come on
Yeah
Feel good don't it?
[Verse 1]
This is for warm days and drift away
While the sun sets and the ghetto's play
Long nights on a hot summer's block
When you sip yo brew, and never touch yo glock
This is for eyes, that cry like yours and mine
To smile again, rise above the pain
This is for you and your crew, the ones that's true
Will always love you, no matter what you do
[Chorus]
Cause it's the life, the life, the life
The life, the life
It's the life, the life, the life, life
It's the life, the life, the life, yo life, yo life
It's the life, your life, my life
[Verse 2]
This is for soldier's who bust they guns(bust, bust)
In the name of freedom not the game of fun
True Queens, who raise they kids
Implement the knowledge, show em how to live
This is for those who stand in line and feed their babie's(i know)
While were runnin out of time
This is for the unjustice behind bars
Our lovers, our leader's, our people(our people)
[Chorus]
[Mystic Rhyming]
Don't let em miss, miss guide you
They'll have you actin like the sun don't shine
And the sky ain't never blue
But you know and I know it's all about survival
This struggle of our people is like that unraveled
The poloticans they was never in control (never)
It's deeper then that a true battle for the soul
What they want is to bring us to our knees
So my people guard yo life by any means
[Verse 3]
This is for those who know we all gon die
Set up that way by infinite powers
Those who know the feel of chains
And the belly of the beast and of mental strain
This is for those who have they're own fallen angels
Tryna find a way on
This is for everybody (everybody)
And everybody is so life
[Chorus]
Yo, you gotta keep smilin
No matter what
Cause this is the life
What you gon do bout that, huh?
Am I alive?
Is it breath that keeps me living in my lungs
So I can be strong?
Do I believe in you?
Do I believe that...
I want to change from the inside out
I'll give you the life, give you the life I live.
I don't wanna live without you
I know I can't escape the sun.
So I'll sing a new song
Do I believe in you?
Do I believe that...
I want to change from the inside out
I wont stop, can't ever stop the feeling
I wont stop, I'm not looking for a reason
But You
