At the epicentre of the outbreak is Kailahun, a town where aid workers are risking their lives to deal with the crisis. "We are now going to the house, and the volunteers - the Dead Body Management Team - they will proceed with the burial", explains a Red Cross worker. His boiler suited unit is responding to the unexplained death of a middle aged man. The body must be treated with all the precautions afforded to an Ebola patient. Informing the locals of what is happening to the deceased diffuses tension, and helps to defeat the fear and paranoia spreading among the shocked communities. "There's a lot of beliefs in black magic and those traditional beliefs, so people often explain things through witchcraft and curses", says Dr Richard Broome. It is up to brave volunteers and local medics to educate communities afflicted by the brutal disease. With the number of confirmed deaths increasing, it is important to focus on the few survivors who pull through the virus' 21 day cycle. The individuals and NGOs fighting and dying with their patients are now desperate for a concerted international response. There are many more Yazidis and Christians stranded on the mountains. The Kurdish forces are fighting ISIS to open more route to rescue them. The fight is raging on the borders of Kurdistan to stop ISIS terrorist group from advancing. Iraq's human rights minister, Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, estimated that around 500 Yazidis had been killed in the past week, many by jihadists when they stormed the city of Sinjar early last Sunday. Others, though, had died of dehydration and disease. The death tool could rise to 3000, there are still more than 30,000 Yazidis stranded on the Sinjar mountains, and more than 100,000 Christians fled their homes and are not refugees in Kurdistan, many taking shelters in Church and other public places in the city of Erbil and Sulaymaniyah. An ultra-high-resolution NASA computer model has given scientists a stunning new look at how carbon dioxide in the atmosphere travels around the globe. Plumes of carbon dioxide in the simulation swirl and shift as winds disperse the greenhouse gas away from its sources. The simulation also illustrates differences in carbon dioxide levels in the northern and southern hemispheres and distinct swings in global carbon dioxide concentrations as the growth cycle of plants and trees changes with the seasons. The carbon dioxide visualization was produced by a computer model called GEOS-5, created by scientists at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center’s Global Modeling and Assimilation Office. The visualization is a product of a simulation called a “Nature Run.” The Nature Run ingests real data on atmospheric conditions and the emission of greenhouse gases and both natural and man-made particulates. The model is then left to run on its own and simulate the natural behavior of the Earth’s atmosphere. This Nature Run simulates January 2006 through December 2006. While Goddard scientists worked with a “beta” version of the Nature Run internally for several years, they released this updated, improved version to the scientific community for the first time in the fall of 2014. Al-Qaida-linked Attack on Houthi in Yemen Kills at Least 15
Al-Qaida-linked Attack on Houthi in Yemen Kills at Least 15
  • Order:
  • Duration: 4:18
  • Updated: 28 Sep 2014
A suicide bomber linked to al-Qaida drove a car laden with explosives into a hospital used as a base by Yemen's Shi'ite Muslim Houthi movement on Sunday, killing at least 15 people, various sources said. The attack took place in the town of Majzar in Maarib province, east of the capital Sana’a, militant, tribal and local sources said. Houthi fighters seized Sana’a on September 21 after four days of fighting with soldiers loyal to the Sunni Muslim Islah party. They have since refused to leave the capital, despite an agreement they signed with President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi to make them a part of the government. "Dozens of dead and wounded from the rejectionist Houthis in a martyrdom operation by Ansar al-Sharia using a booby-trapped car in Maarib," the militant group, which is the local branch of Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), said in a statement on its Twitter account. Houthi headquarters The group said the target was al-Jafra hospital, which had been turned by the Houthis into a base for their operations in the area. Local tribesmen said at least 15 people were killed in the attack and more than 50 were wounded. There was no immediate word from the Houthi, who are named after a Zaydi tribe based in the city of Saada some 540 kilometers (336 miles) to the north. Earlier Sunday, hundreds of Yemenis demonstrated in Sana'a, demanding that Houthi rebels who had seized control of the capital last week leave, a day after the Shi'ite Muslim fighters attacked the home of the intelligence chief. Witnesses said activists chanted slogans against President Hadi for his apparent weakness before the Houthi fighters. "You Hadi, find a solution, or else turn around and depart," demonstrators chanted. One sign carried by Sunday's protesters called for a "secure capital free of armed militias." On Saturday, Houthi fighters tried to fight their way into the home of Yemen's intelligence chief in Sana'a, in a clash that left one soldier and two tribesmen dead. The incident, which also wounded six soldiers and nine Houthis, showed the fragility of the power-sharing deal. Militant group Ansar al-Sharia had previously carried out numerous attacks on military and civilians installations of the U.S.-allied Yemeni government. But the group, which adheres to an austere brand of Sunni Islam which views Shi'ites as heretics, has turned its attention to the Houthis after they captured Sana’a. Last week, they said they carried out a similar attack on the Houthis in their northern stronghold of Saada province, in which dozens were killed or wounded. The stability of Yemen is a priority for the United States and its Gulf Arab allies because of its position next to Saudi Arabia and shipping lanes which run through the Gulf of Aden. Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal told the U.N. General Assembly on Sunday that the situation in Yemen posed a threat to international security, and said the agreement to form a new government had been wrecked by the Houthis' failure to give up control of the capital. The U.S. State Department on Saturday condemned the ongoing violence in Yemen and voiced support for President Hadi as he tries to implement the Peace and National Partnership Agreement. The United States called on all parties to implement all aspects of the peace agreement, in particular the turning over of all medium and heavy weapons to the state. The State Department said the United States is stepping up efforts to work with the international community to pursue sanctions against individuals who are threatening Yemen’s peace, stability, and security, if they do not immediately stop such activities. Houthi background The Houthis captured Sana’a after overrunning an army brigade affiliated to the moderate Isalmist Islah party, making them effectively the power brokers in the country. Their Zaydi Shi'ite sect is related to but separate from the sect the rules Iran. They make up 30 percent of Yemen's population of 25 million and ruled a kingdom there for 1,000 years. But they have complained of being marginalized since their last king in Sana’a was overthrown in a 1962 revolution.

All those Cuban-American lawmakers who are furious at President Barack Obama for normalizing relations with Cuba this morning may want to direct some of their anger at Pope Francis I. During his remarks on the release of American citizen Alan Gross from Cuban imprisonment Wednesday afternoon, the president confirmed earlier reports that the Pope had made “personal appeals” to both him and Cuban president Raul Castro leading up to the eventual deal. After saying that discussions regarding Gross’ release had been ongoing for month, President Obama revealed that, “His Holiness Pope Francis issued a personal appeal to me and to Cuban President Raul Castro urging us to resolve Alan’s case and to address Cuba’s interest in the release of three Cuban agents who have been jailed in the United States for over 15 years.” Towards the end of his speech, President Obama thanked those who have supported the measures that helped bring Gross home. “In particular, I want to thank Pope Francis, whose moral example shows us importance of pursuing the world as it should be rather than simply settling for the world as it is,” he said.

In this Video you can see the moment female and male Kurdish forces from all four part of Kurdistan rescue more than 20,000 people from the Sinjar mountains, notice many of the fighters are YPG from Syrian Kurdistan and HPG (formally knows as PKK), these Guerrilla fighters came down from the mountains in Qandil to rescue these people and are fighting with the Kurdish Peshmerga forces against ISIS. There are many more Yazidis and Christians stranded on the mountains.

The Kurdish forces are fighting ISIS to open more route to rescue them. The fight is raging on the borders of Kurdistan to stop ISIS terrorist group from advancing.

Iraq\'s human rights minister, Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, estimated that around 500 Yazidis had been killed in the past week, many by jihadists when they stormed the city of Sinjar early last Sunday.

A suicide bomber linked to al-Qaida drove a car laden with explosives into a hospital used as a base by Yemen\'s Shi\'ite Muslim Houthi movement on Sunday, killing at least 15 people, various sources said.

After the hack at Sony and tons of personal information being leaked of everyone who had worked with them over the years. As well as the terrorist threats made on the lives of anyone who went to see The Interview Sony cancelled the movie.
Reports have indicated that the Sony hack was actually done by North Korea but some are not fully convinced. Either way lives being threatened over the premiere of a comedy let alone having tons of personal info of many out there leaked seems to be going quite far.
Either way The Interview will not be released anytime soon and who knows if this is the last we will see of companies caving into the pressures of hackers and anyone threatening the safety of innocent people.

After saying that discussions regarding Gross’ release had been ongoing for month, President Obama revealed that, “His Holiness Pope Francis issued a personal appeal to me and to Cuban President Raul Castro urging us to resolve Alan’s case and to address Cuba’s interest in the release of three Cuban agents who have been jailed in the United States for over 15 years.”

Towards the end of his speech, President Obama thanked those who have supported the measures that helped bring Gross home. “In particular, I want to thank Pope Francis, whose moral example shows us importance of pursuing the world as it should be rather than simply settling for the world as it is,” he said.
