Tottenham (local /ˈtɒʔnəm/) is an area of north London in the London Borough of Haringey, England, situated 6.6 miles (10.6 km) north north east of Charing Cross.

Tottenham is believed to have been named after Tota, a farmer, whose hamlet was mentioned in the Domesday Book; hence Tota's hamlet became Tottenham. It was recorded in the Domesday Book as Toteham.

There has been a settlement at Tottenham for over a thousand years. It grew up along the old Roman road, Ermine Street (some of which is part of the present A10 road), and between High Cross and Tottenham Hale, the present Monument Way.

When the Domesday Book was compiled in 1086, about 70 families lived within the area of the manor, mostly labourers working for the Lord of the Manor. A humorous poem entitled the Tournament of Tottenham, written around 1400, describes a mock-battle between peasants vying for the reeve's daughter.

In 1894, Tottenham was made an urban district and on 27 September 1934 it became a municipal borough. As from 1 April 1965, the municipal borough formed part of the London Borough of Haringey.

Erik Manuel Lamela (born 25 March 1992) is an Argentine footballer who currently plays for Serie A club Roma.

Lamela made his first team debut for Club Atlético River Plate on 14 June 2009, in a game against Tigre for the 2009 Clausura tournament. He entered the field on the 80th minute, substituting Robert Flores. Lamela scored his first goal for River on 5 December 2010 in a match against Colón for the Apertura tournament. He scored his second goal against Lanús in the final fixture of that Apertura, helping River win the match 4–1.

The midfielder was a regular starter for River during the 2010–11 Argentine Primera División season, playing 34 games and scoring 4 goals. He helped his team to finish in an overall sixth place that would have qualified them for the 2011 Copa Sudamericana. However, due to the relegation format of the Argentine Primera that accounts a team's last three seasons, River was relegated after losing a playoff with Belgrano.

On 6 August 2011, Lamela joined Serie A club A.S. Roma for a fee €12 million, plus €2 million bonus (which activated after his 20th appearances). Roma also paid the agent Martijn Odems an additional €3.2 million (to Orel B.V.) plus 10% added value if the player was sold above €12M and lastly tax to Argentina of €3.06 million On 23 October 2011, he scored his first goal in Serie A against Palermo.

Gareth Frank Bale (born 16 July 1989) is a Welsh footballer who plays for English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and the Wales national team as a winger.

Bale began his professional career at Southampton, playing at left back, earning acclaim as a free kick specialist. Since transferring to Spurs in 2007, managerial and tactical shifts have seen him transform into a more offensively-oriented player. Recently, Bale has played an integral role in Tottenham's success domestically and in the Champions League.

Bale was born in Cardiff to parents Frank, a school caretaker, and Debbie, an operations manager; he attended Eglwys Newydd Primary School at Whitchurch. He is the nephew of former Cardiff City footballer Chris Pike. It was while at this school he first came to the attention of Southampton at age nine, when he was playing in a six-a-side tournament with his first club, Cardiff Civil Service Football Club. Growing up his football hero was fellow Welshman and Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs.

Christian Dannemann Eriksen (born 14 February 1992) is a Danish professional football player, currently playing as an attacking midfielder for Ajax. He made his debut for the Danish national team in March 2010, and was the youngest player of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. In 2011, he was named Dutch Football Talent of the Year as well as Danish Football Player of the Year.

Christian Eriksen started playing football in his hometown Middelfart before his third birthday. In 2005 he switched to Odense Boldklub (OB), who competed in the Danish youth championships. His team lost the semi-final against Brøndby IF, but afterwards he was named "Best Technical Player" of the tournament. The following year OB won the tournament, when Eriksen scored the only goal in the final. After some good performances for OB's U-16 team and later on U-19 team and the Danish U-17 team, major European football clubs including Chelsea and Barcelona began to take notice. The player had trials with Barcelona, Chelsea, and AC Milan, but finally decided to move to Ajax, stating "My first step should not be too big. I knew that playing in the Netherlands would be very good for my development. Then Ajax arrived and that was a fantastic option"

Daniel Jason Sudeikis ( /sʉˈdeɪkɨs/ sə-DAY-kis; born September 18, 1975) is an American actor and comedian best known for starring as a cast member on Saturday Night Live. He also has had a notable breakthrough in the film industry in 2011, starring that year in Hall Pass, Horrible Bosses, and A Good Old Fashioned Orgy.

Sudeikis was born Daniel Jason Sudeikis in Fairfax, Virginia. He is the son of Kathryn (née Wendt), formerly a travel agent at Brennco who was president of the American Society of Travel Agents, and Daniel Joseph "Dan" Sudeikis, a vice president of business development. His uncle is actor George Wendt, who is best known for his role as Norm Peterson from Cheers. His maternal grandmother's father was photographer Tom Howard. He is of Lithuanian descent on his father's side and German and Irish on his mother's.

As a child, Sudeikis moved with his family to Overland Park, Kansas, which he considers his hometown. He attended Brookridge Elementary School before transferring to Holy Cross Catholic School, both of which are located in Overland Park. He began high school at the Jesuit Rockhurst High School in 1990, later transferring due to academic reasons to Shawnee Mission West High School, where he won the state title in forensics with Drew Keiter, and was a point guard for the boys' basketball team, and graduating in 1994.
