Christmas or Christmas Day (Old English: Crīstesmæsse, literally "Christ's mass") is an annual commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ, celebrated generally on December 25 as a religious and cultural holiday by billions of people around the world. A feast central to the Christian liturgical year, it closes the Advent season and initiates the twelve days of Christmastide. Christmas is a civil holiday in many of the world's nations, is celebrated by an increasing number of non-Christians, and is an integral part of the Christmas and holiday season.
The precise year of Jesus' birth, which some historians place between 7 and 2 BC, is unknown. By the early-to-mid 4th century, Western Christianity had placed Christmas on December 25, a date later adopted in the East. The date of Christmas may have initially been chosen to correspond with the day exactly nine months after the Annunciation, the date Christians believe Jesus to have been conceived, (as well as the date of the southern solstice, i.e., the Roman winter solstice), with a sun connection being possible because Christians consider Jesus to be the "Sun of righteousness" prophesied in Malachi 4:2.
The Christmas spirit grows with each new day
And it's so close but seems so far away
And yet it comes only once a year
And 'fore you know it, it's already here
The streets are filled with laughter
And so many hearts are gay
Everybody helps to make the spirit bright
The houses turn on their Christmas lights at night
It's worth the wait the whole year through
Just to make happy someone like you
And I'll never outgrow the thrill of Christmas day
It's worth the wait the whole year through
Just to make happy someone like you
And I'll never outgrow the thrill of Christmas day
It's worth the wait the whole year through
Once a year there is a very special day
So much more than presents coming on a sleigh
Beautiful and rare, a hope is in the air
Serene just like a prayer, believing that it's never ending
When you wake you'll feel like things are right and new
You'll be calm and sense a peace come over you
Every trouble will be far away
It happens Christmas Day
Finding time to pause and help your fellow men
See what you can do and do all that you can
Every trouble will be far away
Mary and Joseph drove into town
Searching for a place to stay
The moon was up and his foot was down
A miracle was on its way
They tried the hotels, the motels, the bed and breakfast
Locals but no one seemed to have any room
Better find a double room soon!
So where would Christmas be without
Mary and Joseph?
Moricrimbe And Wise
Laurel and Hardy?
Cracker Surprise?
Lights on the pine tree?
And more aftershave?
I'm not forgetting Jesus who was born on Christmas Day!
They found a place with the neon lights
TV, Pool, and Vacancies
The man at the desk didn't hear them right
When the two of them booked for three
They watched the TV
And deeply, she thought about the needing
Of the heavens to deliver this way
And it happened on Christmas Day
Christmas Day, Christmas Day
So where would Christmas be without
Mary and Joseph?
Moricrimbe And Wise
Laurel and Hardy?
Cracker Surprise?
Lights on the pine tree?
And more aftershave?
I'm not forgetting Jesus who was born on Christmas Day!
Mary and Joseph were so surprised
With admirers around the crib
There was something in their son's eyes
They identically took one in
Like a Messiah and a Fire
Like the tread around a tire
That grip all roads
It's to bond you there
And it happened on Christmas Day!
Christmas day
Christmas day
So where would Christmas be without
Mary and Joseph?
Moricrimbe And Wise
Laurel and Hardy?
Cracker Surprise?
Lights on the pine tree?
And more aftershave?
I'm not forgetting Jesus who was born on Christmas Day!
Not forgetting Jesus
Not forgetting Jesus
Not forgetting Jesus
Not forgetting Jesus
Not forgetting Jesus
Not forgetting Jesus
Not forgetting Jesus
The young gentleman came riding past
on a snow-blue winter's day
He asked to drink by our fire and
I was pleased to let him stay
He drank there quietly for a while
and then he turned and said to me
Your eyes are green
Like summer grass
Your lips are red
like a fresh-cut rose
Your hair is soft
like an Irish stream
And your voice is filled with sweet beauty
And the last words I heard him say were
I shall return for you my love on Christmas Day
And the night will come but I won't sleep
as I watch the stars that lead him
I cannot place where he is
but still my heart goes with him
I'm saving all my Sunday clothes for the day
that I'll be leaving
Father knows
My sister knows
And my friends
They're happy for me
And the priest he says
you should thank God
for the blessing of such beauty
And the last words I heard him say were
I shall return for you my love on Christmas Day
I shall return for you my love on Christmas Day
On Christmas Day
I shall return for you
My love...
And the last words I heard him say
Were the last words I ever heard him say
I shall return for you my love on Christmas Day
I said I will return on Christmas Day
And yes, I shall return on Christmas day
I shall return, for you, on Christmas Day
My love
I will return on Christmas Day
I shall return ,my love, on Christmas Day
Outside the twilight rides high
And whispers of love sound deep in the night
Hope and promise of peace in our land
Is this Christmastime?
Dark winter watches our fire
And brings us promise of a new day
Distant eyes have gone a long way
Too far to see the snow that falls
The winds of change have come and gone
The cold has come I've been left out
I need your warmth you're all I have
If you're chasing a dream to nowhere
It's enchantment that leads the way
Just believe in yourself and go there
The gift of hope on Christmas day
If every eye holds a blank stare
After winter's gone away
Just believe in yourself and go there
You and I on Christmas day
There's a time when your doubts won't matter
There's a time all your fears can wait
All the times in the year for laughter
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire,
Jack Frost nipping on your nose,
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir,
And folks dressed up like Eskimos.
Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe,
Help to make the season bright.
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow,
Will find it hard to sleep tonight.
They know that Santa's on his way;
He's loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh.
And every mother's child is going to spy,
To see if reindeer really know how to fly.
And so I'm offering this simple phrase,
To kids from one to ninety-two,
Although its been said many times, many ways,
Where in the world did you come from my dear?Did some mysterious voice tell you I'd still be here? I bought this ticket to Mobile, but I been stranded all day...p.a. said the bus broke down ten miles away from the station. So seldom a door...so seldom a key...so seldom a lock like the love between you and me. But seldom comes happiness without the pain of the devil in the details since I saw the smile on your face as I was crying in a Greyhound station on Christmas Day...in 1998.The burden of love is the fuel of bad grammar. You stutter and stammer--what a bitch to convey the crux of the matter, when the words you must utter are hopelessly tangled in the memories and scars you show no one. So seldom a door...so seldom a key...so seldom a hit like the hurt you put on me.But seldom comes happiness without the pain of the devil in the details since I saw the smile on your face as I was crying in a Greyhound station on Christmas Day...in 1998. I remember quite clearly, a bad Muzak version of James Taylor's big hit, called "Fire and Rain" was playing as you crouched down and tearfully kissed me, and I thought, "Damn, what good fiction I will mold from this terrible pain." So seldom a door...so seldom a key...so seldom a gift like the gift you gave me. But seldom comes happiness without the pain of the devil in the details since I saw the smile on your face as I was crying in a Greyhound station on Christmas Day...in 1998. Amazing grace, how sweet the smile upon the face I never thought I'd see you again...especially here in this Greyhound station...on Christmas Day...in 1998
dream of you, so far away, today
I dream of you, heading my way, today
so hold your hopes, hold your dreams
fly these miles to me
A gift of goodwill wrapped with a ribbon of love, forever and ever
Christmas day will be the day our love will come together
This holiday
Two years ago
Touched by a rose
When two families sing their love will ring, together for the better
Christmas day will be the day our love will come together
This holiday
Two winter years ago
Touched by a rose
As that morning closed the warmth of this winters told,
I'll never ever forget her
Christmas day will be the day our love will come together
This holiday
Two winter years ago
touched by a rose...
A gift of goodwill wrapped with a ribbon of love, forever and ever
Christmas day will be the day our love will come together

Can’t wait ‘till Christmas
Macy’s parade has come and gone
Time to sing those Christmas songs
Its my favorite time of year
Spread the love and holiday cheer
Put up the tree
The holly and the ivy
Cause its almost Christmas day
On the rooftop reindeer pause (here comes Santa Clause)
Down the chimney comes Santa Clause bringing cheer and lots of joy
With the children’s Christmas toys
Lets build a fire
Sing carols with the choir
Cause its almost Christmas day
Christmas bells are ringing, carolers are singing (Christmas day)
Christmas day is getting near
Celebrate the season with a special reason (Christmas day)
Jolly st. Nick will be here
Christmas lights are glowing winter wind is blowing (Christmas day)
Hang the candy canes on the tree
Its fun to remember memories in December
Stockings hung on the chimney
Put up the tree
The holly and the ivy
Cause its almost Christmas day
Christmas bells are ringing carolers are singing
Cant wait till its Christmas
Celebrate the season with a special reason
Cant wait till its Christmas
Bake cookies with green and red (I cant wait)
Cant wait till its Christmas
Fill the jar with ginger bread
Cant wait till its Christmas
What fun it is to ride
Cant wait till its Christmas
In a horse drawn sleigh tonight
Cant wait till its Christmas
Wrap the presents tie the bows
Cant wait till its Christmas
(its Christmas time)
Sing the songs that we all know
Cant wait till its Christmas
Pull down the sled and play in the snow
You know I feel so good
Feel so good
Feel so good
You know I feel so good
Well I feel ok
'cause it's Christmas Day
I got a pocketful of money
My baby by my side
You know I'm so glad
So glad to be alive
That's why I feel ok
On this Christmas Day
I want ya to turn up your hi-fi
I want ya to turn it up loud
I want everyone to know
That we're rockin' in this house
You know I feel ok
Mm para param para ram
Param pam para ppapam!
Another year is sayin' goodbye
And windows sparkle with bright lights
This chilly air caressing my hair
Brings me the memories that we had
Last Christmas you tried to speak up
Didn't want to hear a thing
What I'll be missin' should not be happenin'
On a Christmas Day
12 o'clock I unwrap the gifts
Santa was smilin' but i have my tears
I'm alone with a Christmas song so I turned off
Cause it feels so wrong
But I know I'll never be the same
So I turned it back on and I started to sing!
Mmm para param para ram
Param pam para ppapam!
Verse2:
And as I walk down on this road
Where we used to laugh and joke
You need to get me outta here
Before I shed my tears
Refrain2
Cause now it's Christmas should have forgotten
But I still feel the same
But what is missing if I can bargain
Not on Christmas day
Chorus2:
12 o'clock and I'm lyin here
Starin at the ceiling carols all I hear
Wondrin' if where you at right now
Could the star that guide the kings
Could me show how
How to smile on this happy holiday
But I'll be headin on and sing it away
Mmm para param para ram
Param pam para ppapam!
Mmm para param para ram
Param pam para ppapam!
Bridge
And now we spend this Holiday apart
Will you see that you will always be in my heart!
Chorus2:
12 o'clock and I'm lyin here
Starin at the ceiling carols all I hear
I'm alone with a Christmas song so I turned off
Cause it feels so wrong
But I know I'll never be the same
So I turned it back on and I started to sing
Mmm para param para ram
Param pam para ppapam!
Mmm para param para ram
Param pam para ppapam!
