What John Was is the story of a boy, Henry, at his brother's (John's) funeral. Henry's emotionlessness is in stark contrast to the tear-soaked faces of the other funeral guests and he can't help but feel that he is being judged for not being as sad as he should be. The film explores his day as well as the two brother's less than loving relationship that led to Henry being less grief-stricken and more confused than the others.

Plot
This comedy follows the adventures of two simple-minded cousins, Rufus and Silas, who are hoping to escape their less-than-average existence by moonlighting as 'superheroes.' They believe the power rings they purchase from a shady pawnshop salesman are their one shot at becoming somebody. 'Thunder' and 'Hurricane,' Rufus and Silas' alter egos, quickly set off for superhero-dom only to fail at their several heroic attempts. However, their fate seems to change when they meet a self-proclaimed, retired superhero who offers to train them to become the heroes they long to be. It isn't long until their newly acquired training is put to the test when they find themselves mixed up in a crime spree that plagues the town. Through turmoil, romance, deception, and imprisonment, Rufus and Silas are in for the ride of their lives.

NEED is film #6 in the nine film 9@ Night cycle. A cinema portrait of 40-50 inner city characters living in the San Francisco Tenderloin circa 2001-2005 cast from the Tenderloin yGroup Actor's Ensemble. NEED goes into the shady alleys and smoky bars explored in many films with "noir" pedigree and genre intentions but takes a different tack. It tries to avoid the stereotypes of underworld life and the conventions of crime shows and detective series. Instead of "satin sheets, satin pillows" fatalism. it depicts the fragile friendships, the familial struggles, the competition as well as the solidarity between four women who work in the sex business in San Francisco's Tenderloin district. It is also a personal look at four distinct people and the people they love, deceive, endure and seek to know. Petite struggles to hold onto her relationship with Tyrone, a pool hustler, while Jane works as a stripper in the Gold Club. Lou, Jane's mother and a heroin addict, is a renegade aging prostitute who works the streets and bars in defiance of the pimps. Francesca manages an escort service and does phone sex. The film concentrates on the shared experiences which hold these women together and the strains of the business which threaten their friendship. In a profession which thrives on fantasy and martyrdom they struggle to hold onto their reasons for caring for each other.

With this film I wanted to engage people on some very dark levels. It was my goal to strip away your comfort zone in hopes to keep your emotions raw concerning the themes and topics of this film. This film was a very personal journey into my own soul in search of finding reasons for the how's and why's. After finishing this film I have realized that I'm no closer towards understanding. But perhaps this film was never supposed to supply answers than it was to keep our emotions raw. It is a very difficult film to watch. It was a very difficult film to make. But whether you agree or disagree with the film one thing remains true - atrocities like this happen constantly. And if we become numb to our atrocities we are truly lost.

A divorced woman seeks new sexual adventures in this erotic tale. What she doesn't count on is that her new lover will take her as a hostage and hold her against her will in an abandoned, furnished warehouse. But is she really a hostage? It is revealed that after the first days, the door is never locked and she has always been free to go. After participating in several sexual adventures, including watching her lover have sex with another woman and having sex with another man whose face she never sees, she does leave. But after awhile, she does return. There she finds a series of tapes of previous exploits and evidence of who her lover really is. Tracing him to his home with wife and kids, she turns the tables on him.

Plot
When the plane owned by the "Yukon and Columbia Mail Service" crashes, RCMP Sergeant Renfrew (James Newill) and Constable Kelly (Dave O'Brien) suspect murder. Their suspicions are confirmed when Renfrew finds the control stick has been jammed, forcing the plane to fly in one direction until the gas ran out. Mine owner Louise Howard (Louise Stanley) reports that her superintendent is missing. The Mounties find him murdered and that too has been made to look like an accident. A new mail service pilot, Bill Shipley (Warren Hull), arrives. He had gone to training school with Renfrew but had been cashiered for misconduct. The Mounties discover that Raymond (Karl Hackett), who had been working for Louise, really owns the flying line managed by Yuke Cardoe (William Pawley.) They find proof that all the gold from the mine isn't being turned over to Louise, and suspect that Raymond and Yuke are stealing the gold and shipping it to Seattle by plane. Renfrew sets a trap and Yuke and Raymond try to escape in their plane.
