Climate encompasses the statistics of temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind, precipitation, atmospheric particle count and other meteorological elemental measurements in a given region over long periods. Climate can be contrasted to weather, which is the present condition of these elements and their variations over shorter periods.
A region's climate is generated by the climate system, which has five components: atmosphere, hydrosphere, cryosphere, land surface, and biosphere.
The climate of a location is affected by its latitude, terrain, and altitude, as well as nearby water bodies and their currents. Climates can be classified according to the average and the typical ranges of different variables, most commonly temperature and precipitation. The most commonly used classification scheme was originally developed by Wladimir Köppen. The Thornthwaite system, in use since 1948, incorporates evapotranspiration along with temperature and precipitation information and is used in studying animal species diversity and potential effects of climate changes. The Bergeron and Spatial Synoptic Classification systems focus on the origin of air masses that define the climate of a region.
Sir David Frederick Attenborough ( /ˈætənbərə/) OM, CH, CVO, CBE, FRS, FZS, FSA (born 8 May 1926) is a British broadcaster and naturalist.
His career as the face and voice of natural history programmes has endured for more than 50 years. He is best known for writing and presenting the nine Life series, in conjunction with the BBC Natural History Unit, which collectively form a comprehensive survey of all life on the planet. He is also a former senior manager at the BBC, having served as controller of BBC Two and director of programming for BBC Television in the 1960s and 1970s.
Attenborough is widely considered a national treasure in Britain, although he himself does not care for the term. He is a younger brother of director, producer and actor Richard Attenborough.
Attenborough was born in Isleworth, west London, but grew up in College House on the campus of the University College, Leicester, where his father, Frederick, was principal. He is the middle of three sons (his elder brother, Richard, became an actor and his younger brother, John, an executive at Italian car manufacturer Alfa Romeo). During World War II his parents also adopted two Jewish refugee girls from Europe.
Gavin A. Schmidt is a climatologist and climate modeler at the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) in New York. He works on the variability of the ocean circulation and climate, using general circulation models (GCMs). He has also worked on ways to reconcile paleo-data with models. He helped develop the GISS ocean and coupled GCMs to improve the representation of the present day climate, while investigating their response to climate forcing. The latest GISS GCM is called ModelE.
He is the co-author, with Joshua Wolfe, of Climate Change: Picturing the Science (2009), which has a foreword by Jeffrey D. Sachs. The book combines images of the effects of climate change with scientific explanations.
In October 2011, the American Geophysical Union announced that Schmidt was to be awarded its inaugural Climate Communications Prize for his work on communicating climate-change issues to the public. The award is to be presented at the AGU's Fall Meeting in December. The award news release noted his outreach work including co-founding and contributing to the RealClimate blog.
Charles David Keeling (April 20, 1928 – June 20, 2005) was an American scientist whose recording of carbon dioxide at the Mauna Loa Observatory first alerted the world to the possibility of anthropogenic contribution to the "greenhouse effect" and global warming. The Keeling Curve measures the progressive buildup of carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas, in the atmosphere.
Keeling was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He graduated with a degree in chemistry from the University of Illinois in 1948 and earned a PhD in chemistry from Northwestern University in 1954. He was a postdoctoral fellow in geochemistry at the California Institute of Technology until he joined Scripps Institution of Oceanography in 1956, and was appointed professor of oceanography there in 1968.
At Caltech he developed the first instrument to measure carbon dioxide in atmospheric samples. Keeling camped at Big Sur where he used his new device to measure the level of carbon dioxide and found that it had risen since the 19th century.
Russell Edward Brand (born 4 June 1975) is an English comedian, actor, columnist, singer, author and radio/television presenter.
Brand achieved mainstream fame in the UK in 2004 for his role as host of Big Brother spin-off, Big Brother's Big Mouth. His first major film role was in the 2007 film St Trinian's. He became known to American audiences when he got a major role in Forgetting Sarah Marshall which led to a starring role in 2010's Get Him to the Greek. He has also been a voice actor for animated films such as 2010's Despicable Me and the 2011 film Hop. He starred in the 2011 remake of the 1981 Dudley Moore film Arthur.
Brand is noted for his eccentricity and his controversies in the British media, including his dismissal from MTV for dressing up as Osama bin Laden and controversies while presenting at various award ceremonies, as well as his former substance abuse. The 2008 prank telephone calls he made to Andrew Sachs while co-hosting The Russell Brand Show with Jonathan Ross led to his resignation from the BBC and major policy changes in that organisation. His prior drug use, alcoholism and promiscuity influenced his comedic material and public image. He married American pop singer Katy Perry in October 2010, and filed for divorce from her in December 2011; the divorce was finalised in 2012.
I think that you just found me out
... you just found me out
I know that you just found me out
... you just found me, you just found me out
You think you know me, but what's inside?
Ain't gonna show you, so who am I?
Don't do disclosure, I never tried
Soul Train
On an easy ride
I got no secrets, I tell no lies
But you see through me, to my surprise
I never told you my powders dry
So claimed
I think that you just found me out
. you just found me out
Know that you just found me out
... you just found me, you just found me out
I think that you just found me out
. you just found me out
Know that you just found me out
... you just found me, you just found me out
I live in limbo, I've got no ties
Just look at me and you'll see no files
Oh it's all out there, there's no disguise
So Claimed
On an easy ride
Slippin' and slidin'
We all make our way
Duckin' and Divin'
All the games that people play
... you just found me out
I know that you just found me out
... you just found me, you just found me out
I think that you just found me out
... you just found me out
I know that you just found me out
... you just found me, you just found me out
I think that you just found me out
. you just found me out
Know that you just found me out
... you just found me, you just found me out
I think that you just found me out
. you just found me out
Know that you just found me out
... you just found me, you just found me out

You cannot be, you're the mistake: calamity
Sent to destroy all of the good
On this earth, killing me
You're killing me
The mother of ruination comes to xxxx all
Mutilating everything, spread wide open, beckoning
Beckoning mespiral faster down
Ripping a hole through the air we breathe
An apocalypse
Encased in a shell, so beautiful
The calamity makes it's way to the inside
I know we are feeling the same thing
The calamity makes it's way to the inside
To eat away at our existence
Spewed from the wound of this life's worst cavity; the
Nightmare spreads it's cancerous lamentations, poisoning
Force-feed the plague
Drunk from the milk of death's overflowing sick tit
Nourishing the misery, gives birth to the ugliness
That grows inside
Spiral faster down
Ripping a hole through the air we breathe
An apocalypse
Encased in a shell, so beautiful
The calamity makes it's way to the inside
I know we are feeling the same thing
The calamity makes it's way to the inside
To eat away at our existence
Isolate
The heart from the brain
Permeate
Inject us with pain
Holding our breath now
We're screaming without sound
We're trembling as everything falls completely apart
Meteor crash down
Come crater our woe out
The banishment of everything once alive will start now
Holding our breath now
We're screaming without sound
The banishment of everything once alive will start now
You came to be, you're the mistake: calamity
Here to destroy all of the good on this earth, killing all
Killing us all
Spiral faster down
Ripping a hole through the air we breathe
An apocalypse
Encased in a shell, so beautiful
The calamity makes it's way to the inside
I know we are feeling the same thing
The calamity makes it's way to the inside
Heaven's exploding
And i'm feeling strange in my skin
Can we recover?
Picking up pieces and starting again
Showing the world that you won't be afraid
Sudden corrosion
Imploding self to begin
Finding another
Picking up pieces and starting again
Showing the world that you wont be afraid
We came in and made a mess, pitched a tent in your living
room. someone's stolen Lucien's vest, when no one's here
things are jejune. solitaire's not just for one, Monday
night we'll have a game. doesn't matter whose team you're
on, Cleveland wins it either way. we missed you so and we
don't want to go yet. why can't we be home at calumet? i
got just one hour of sleep, too much sabbath in my head.
ron jon's stressed beyond belief so get your feet off of
the bed. Jude is climbing up the walls, she hates D.
Creek as much as me. i'm not here if someone calls,
unless it's from apartment three. we'll miss you so and
we don't want to go yet. why can't we be home at 38
calumet? what's that melody i hear? hard and straight's
what pays the bills. sing-song english harmonies, much
too clever, makes me ill. before i go just one last
thing, i just want all of you to know. we'll be back in
[Forgotten]
[Lyrics and Music by Ivar Bjørnson]
The silence inside this place is screaming
Here, were the roses never wither, as they never bloomed
Here the sun never shone
Even the darkness never came in
No hope, no fear
An ocean of tears, that never fell
Tomorrow brings remembrance of opened wounds
The light invaded the endless darkness
A soul, which birth was denied
A soul that became forgotten
The darkness fades away even the brightest colour
The street is empty, and leads to nowhere
A shrilling scream, that no one heard
Who cares? We can all be free
"Tomorrow is a new day
But today was new as well...
... For only thing is fear fealt
The fear of life"
Fallen asleep, wrapped in a blood red blanket
Two dead eyes are staring into emptiness
From a soul, which birth was denied
Death greets the one life forgot
[Norwegian]
Hvor stillheten er øredøvende her inne
Hvor rossene aldri visner, da de aldri blomstret
Her fant solen aldri frem
Selv mørket snur i døren
Intet håp, ingen frykt
Et hav av tårer som aldri rant
Morgendangen bringer bud om åpnede sår
Lyset invaderte det endeløse mørket
Den klareste farge blir dim om natten
Gaten er tom og leder ingensteds
Et strik som skar, men ingen hørte
Hvem bryr seg? Vi kan alle bli fri
"I morgen er en ny dag,
Men det var også i dag...
...Blott den ene frykten kjennes
Frykten for lyvet"
Sovnet inn, i ei blodrødt pledd
To døde øyne stirrer tomt
Fra en sjel som ble nekter født
Nobody will ever stop them
They'll do it again
And even if you try to stop them
They'll do it again.
If there is something,anything
I can do to stop them to try again
If there is something,anything
I can do to get your money back again
If there is something,anything
I can do to get things going well again.
If there is something,anything
I can do to change this things.
But nobody will ever stop them
They'll do ti again
And even if you try to stop them
They'll do it again.
But nobody will ever stop them
They'll do ti again
And even if you try to stop them
They'll do it again and again, again, again..
If there is something,anything
I can do to help a livin into pain
If there is something,anything
I can do to bring light to your gloomy day
If there is something,anything
I can do to stop them to try it again
If there is something,anything
I can do to get your money back again
And again again again again yeah yeah yeah
You said good looks were hard to find
And I aint had no luck with mine
And you were ready to depart
And set calamity in my heart
I should've known a mind like yours
That opens wounds and closes doors
Would disappoint me from the start
And set calamity in my heart
Oh calamity, oh calamity, oh calamity in my heart
Oh calamity, oh calamity, oh calamity we're apart
Nine lives are not enough for some
But I feel quite at home with one
Cause time moves slow and the days are dark
When there's calamity in your heart
Oh calamity, oh calamity, oh calamity in my heart
Oh calamity, oh calamity, oh calamity we're apart
Now and then I like to sit in my house & lay my dreams on the floor & stick my head in the clouds, as long as time allows
And now and then I like to bury my mind beneath a mountain of gloom to make it harder to find, as long as I'm inclined, we'll I don't mind...
Oh calamity, oh calamity, oh calamity in my heart
we had our hearts tricked
we had it all worked out
we had the bad years planned in advance
we had our hearts tricked
we'd worked it out
but then it all fell apart so fast
we watched the wires trip
the power surged
we had it ripped right out of our hands
it took her hostage
and wore her down
we made a wish that no one could grant
and now we're huddled here
naked sore and cold
it's been severe
she had her heart tricked
she had it all worked out
she had her bad years planned in advance
he had his heart tricked
they had it all worked out
that they had years left of happy romance
but then all the needles
and damage done
in the end just lessened the chance
they had their hearts tricked
the power surged
they had it ripped right out of their hands
and now we're huddled here naked sore and alone
and we can't see clear
just the thought of this is sickening
to live out all our years without you here
just the thought of this is sickening
we had our hearts tricked
we had it all worked out
we had the bad years planned in advance
she had our hearts tricked
but the power surged
and she was ripped right out of our hands
