Plot
Based on footage shot in the early seventies and lost for more than thirty years, NAACP IMAGE AWARD winner Esther Anderson takes us on a journey to Jamaica and into 56 HOPE ROAD, Kingston, to see and hear the young BOB MARLEY before he was famous. The film shows us the WAILERS' first rehearsal, when the idea of a Jamaican supergroup like the BEATLES or the STONES was still just a dream. We sit in on the launch of their international career with "GET UP STAND UP", "I SHOT THE SHERIFF", and the "BURNIN'" and "CATCH A FIRE" albums that brought to the world REGGAE music and RASTA consciousness together as one, starting a revolution that would change rock music and contemporary culture.
Plot
"Mission to Moscow" was made at the behest of F.D.R. in order to garner more support for the Soviet Union during WWII. It was from the book by Joseph E. Davies, former U.S. Ambassador To Russia. The movie covers the political machinations in Moscow just before the start of the war and presents Stalin's Russia in a very favorable light. So much so, that the movie was cited years later by the House Un-American Activities Commission and was largely responsible for the screenwriter, Howard Koch being Blacklisted.

One American's Journey into the Truth
Dr. Botkin: ...Those who work to save life cannot keep up with those who have the power to destroy.
Mr. Radek: [to the prosecutor] Aside from sleeping I never in my life committed an undeliberate action.
Mrs. Marjorie Davies: [to Madame Molotov] Well, I imagine that women are much the same the world over. They all want to please their men.
Ambassador Joseph E. Davies: Mr. Stalin, I believe history will record you as a great builder for the benefit of mankind.
Freddie: So this is Russia, eh?::Railroad official: Da, da.::Freddie: Well, where's the caviar?::Railroad official: You're eating some now in your bread.
Maxim Litvinov, Foreign Minister: [to Davies] There is no security for any of us unless there's security for all.
Freddie: Say, do you let girls ride with the engineer?::Railroad official: She IS the engineer! [laughs]
Mikhail Kalinin, USSR president: [to Davies] My favorite vice is American cigarettes.
Ambassador Joseph E. Davies: I certainly didn't expect to find an American engineer here.::American Engineer in Russia: They hired me two years ago, sir, to give them advice on installations, and I am anxious to get back to Texas.::Ambassador Joseph E. Davies: Homesick, eh?::American Engineer in Russia: I'd give a carload of caviar for just one good hot dog!
Mrs. Marjorie Davies: How did you rest?::Freddie: With one eye open.
Haile Selassie I (Ge'ez: ኃይለ፡ ሥላሴ, "Power of the Trinity") (23 July 1892 – 27 August 1975), born Tafari Makonnen, was Ethiopia's regent from 1916 to 1930 and Emperor of Ethiopia from 1930 to 1974. He was the heir to a dynasty that traced its origins to the 13th century, and from there by tradition back to King Solomon and Queen Makeda, Empress of Axum, known in the Abrahamic tradition as the Queen of Sheba. Haile Selassie is a defining figure in both Ethiopian and African history.
At the League of Nations in 1936, the emperor condemned the use of chemical weapons by Italy against his people. His internationalist views led to Ethiopia becoming a charter member of the United Nations, and his political thought and experience in promoting multilateralism and collective security have proved seminal and enduring. His suppression of rebellions among the nobles (mekwannint), as well as what some perceived to be Ethiopia's failure to modernize adequately, earned him criticism among some contemporaries and historians.
William Franklin "Billy" Graham, Jr. (born November 7, 1918) is an American evangelical Christian evangelist, ordained as a Southern Baptist minister, who rose to celebrity status with national media backing of William Randolph Hearst and Henry Luce in 1949. His sermons were broadcast on radio and television, with some still re-broadcast today.
Graham is notable for having been a spiritual adviser to several United States Presidents; he was particularly close to Dwight D. Eisenhower and Richard M. Nixon. During the civil rights movement, he began to support integrated seating for his revivals and crusades; in 1957 he invited Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. to jointly preach at a huge revival in New York City, where they appeared together at Madison Square Garden, and bailed the minister out of jail in the 1960s when he was arrested in demonstrations.
Having built an evangelical empire and organized huge events worldwide, Graham has personally preached the Gospel to more people than any other person in history. His institutions include a variety of media and publishing outlets. According to his staff, more than 3.2 million people have responded to the invitation at Billy Graham Crusades to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. As of 2008, Graham's estimated lifetime audience, including radio and television broadcasts, topped 2.2 billion.
Pilgrim across the water
We are the same brother
Hitchhiking back to Zion
Holding our tears as we flip the album
What if this leads to ruin?
You got a soul, use it
All this despair forgiven
Rolling away on the Wheel of Sevens
Sings like the Queen of Sheba
Voice through a Blonde Speaker
One dropping bubble and Leslie
Calling me home like Haile Selassie
Pilgrim beside the fire
It's been a long winter
We got a lot in common
Cover our heads as they split the atom
All of our days are numbered
I'll take in some comfort in knowing the wave has crested
Knowing I don't have to be an exception
Children they fill the bleachers
One is the next Caesar
Keep all their minds collected
Until he comes
Until he comes
How do you make a day in plain sight?
Too good to be true
I seen, I seen, I seen stranger things man
I seen, I seen that tree of smoke
Yeah
I seen, I seen, I seen, I seen stranger things happen
Happen before
Pilgrim up on the mountain
Barefoot and still climbin'
Filling the book of hours
Day after day in the filth and squalor
We are the chosen people
Safe from the next evil
One love!
Magnetic memory
Reel after reel
Spinning within me
I had the wildest dream last night
I was swimming with you in that cenote the Heavens made with black fire
Just woke up too soon
I seen, I seen, I seen stranger things man
I seen, I seen those daytime ghosts
Yeah
I seen, I seen, I seen
I seen stranger things happen
Happen before
I seen, I seen, I seen the strangest things man
I seen, I seen that tree of smoke
Yeah
I seen, I seen, I seen stranger things happen
