Rehmatullah "Rehmat" Khan (sometimes spelled Rahmat Khan or Rhamat Khan) is a squash coach and a former squash player from Pakistan. He coached his cousin Jahangir Khan throughout his career. The partnership led to Jahangir winning 10 British Open titles and a spectacular winning streak of 555 consecutive matches.
Rahmat was among the leading squash players on the international circuit in the late-1970s, reaching a career-high ranking of World No. 12. He was a close friend of Torsam Khan, Jahangir's older brother, who was among the top professional players. In 1979, Rahmat and Torsam, who both saw the potential in young Jahangir, made plans to buy a 50% share in a Sussex squash club and bring Jahangir to England to train. However, just when the deeds were to be signed, Torsam suffered a heart attack during a tournament match in Australia and died suddenly.
At that point, Rahmat made a decision to sacrifice his own playing career to take on the challenge of coaching the enormously promising youngster Jahangir. He commented at the time: "I was No. 12, but because of constant injuries I didn't think I would climb any higher." Jahangir had considered quitting the game in the wake of his older brother's death, but Rehmat helped to convince him that Torsam would have wanted him to continue. Rahmat convinced Jahangir's family to let him come to England to train.

Music of Rajasthan originates from Rajasthan, one of the states of India and home to several important centers of Indian musical development, including Udaipur, Jodhpur and Jaipur. The region's music shares similarities both with nearby areas of India and the other side of the border, in the Pakistani province of Sindh.
Rajasthan has a diverse collection of musician castes, including langas, sapera, bhopa, jogi and Manganiar. There are two traditional classes of musicians: the Langas, who stuck mostly exclusively to Muslim audiences and styles, and the Manganiars, who had a more liberal approach.
Traditional music includes the women's Panihari songs, which lyrically describes chores, especially centered on water and wells, both of which are an integral part of Rajasthan's desert culture. Other songs, played by various castes, normally begin with the alap, which sets the tune and is followed by a recital of a couplet (dooba). Epic ballads tell of heroes like Devnarayan Bhagwan, Gogaji, Ramdeoji, Pabuji and Tejaji. The celebration of changing seasons is also very central to folk music of Rajasthan. Celebration of the coming of the Monsoons or the harvest season are central to most traditional folk songs. Songs also revolve around daily activities of the local people for instance a song about not sowing Jeera (Cummin) as it is difficult to tend. Or for instance another song about Podina (Mint) and how it is liked by various members of the family (an allegorical reference to a local liquor extracted from mint is also made). Every day common themes are the center of traditional rajasthani folk music.

Ustad Rahmat Khan (1852-1922) was the son of Ustad Haddu Khan - a legendary father figure of Gwaliar Gharana. Not many listeners may have heard about him, but he influenced legends like Ustad Abdul Karim Khan, Ustad Manjhi Khan, Pandit Bhaskarbuwa Bakhale and many others - with his uniquely romantic, improvisational, direct and appealing singing style. He was also acclaimed for his interesting taan patterns. Rahmat Khan is arguably one of the early pioneer artists who brought new ideas, vision and creativity in Khayal singing. This song - "jamuna ki teer' - has been immortalised by Ustad Abdul Karim Khan with his 1930s disc, but this recording is a testament of how profound Rahmat Khan's influence was on him.
