Fifth Avenue is a major thoroughfare in the center of the borough of Manhattan in New York City, New York, United States. The section of Fifth Avenue that crosses Midtown Manhattan, especially that between 49th Street and 60th Street, is lined with prestigious shops and is consistently ranked among the most expensive shopping streets in the world. The "most expensive street in the world" moniker changes depending on currency fluctuations and local economic conditions from year to year. For several years starting in the mid-1990s, the shopping district between 49th and 57th Streets was ranked as having the world's most expensive retail spaces on a cost per square foot basis. In 2008, Forbes magazine ranked Fifth Avenue as being the most expensive street in the world. Some of the most coveted real estate on Fifth Avenue are the penthouses perched atop the buildings.
Fifth Avenue originates at Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village and runs northwards through the heart of Midtown, along the eastern side of Central Park, where it forms the boundary of the Upper East Side and through Harlem, where it terminates at the Harlem River at 142nd Street. Traffic crosses the river on the Madison Avenue Bridge. Fifth Avenue serves as the dividing line for house numbering in Manhattan. It separates, for example, East 59th Street from West 59th Street. From this zero point for street addresses, numbers increase in both directions as one moves away from Fifth Avenue, with 1 West 59th Street on the corner at Fifth Avenue, and 300 West 59th Street located three blocks to the west of it.

A promised phone call home to
A Minnesota mining town
From a tired hungry kid
Whom the Greyhound just let down
On the January snow in his canvas tennis shoes
The kid just took his first walk
down the great Fifth Avenue
With a guitar on his shoulder
And a pocket full of songs
He's here to make his debut
He's here to right some wrongs
But he's a bit short on references
His future's hanging loose
Just another midnight cowboy
on the great Fifth Avenue
And in some noisy uptown night club
Or in a Bleeker Street cafe
With sweaty hands and shaky knees
He takes the stage
It ain't no friendly city
If you haven't got the bread
Cause those who have ain't sharing
With those who wish they had
Sleeping out in subways
Keeping warm on cheap booze
Living with the high and mighty
On the great Fifth Avenue
And in some noisy uptown night club
Or in a Bleeker Street cafe
With sweaty hands and shaky knees
He takes the stage
In a well guarded beach-house
On the California shore
A man lives with his loneliness
And the songs he writes no more
Not real sure where he came from
And no place to go to
Just some hazy memories
Of the great Fifth Avenue

Why don't you come to me baby
It's you I need, my fantasy
Then we can

World is falling apart
Where do we start?
How do you say goodbye, to the best thing
In your life
Cuts like a knife
Bridge:
You're part of everything I am
Without you I'm nothing
I can't sleep
I can't eat
Chorus:
Who said that time was a healer
They can't be feeling what I'm feeling
Oh make it go away
Baby won't you make it go away
I need a rainbow in my heart
Verse 2:
When did forever end?
When did the blue sky turn to cloud
I miss you know
Bridge:
You're part of everything I am
Without you I'm nothing
I can't sleep
I can't eat
Chorus:
Who said that time was a healer
They can't be feeling what I'm feeling
Oh make it go away
Baby won't you make it go away
I need a rainbow in my heart
I need a rainbow in my heart
My heart
In my heart
Verse 1:
Oh reminisce
On every little thing that I did on you
Knowing now your love for me was true
I guess its time for me
To let you go 'cos you're always on my mind
A love like yours I know is hard to find
Chorus:
That's why I see, so many times
Thats why I felt, all of those lonely nights
Sometimes I feel your heart
Beat close to mine
Wishing I could hold you once again
Wishing I could love you once again
In a different a life
Verse 2:
And sadness
Is eating away at this lonely heart of mine
Never stop to think and wonder why
That I hurt you so(That you hurt me so)
The pain it cuts to deep
My love still shows
The feeling deep inside, nobody knows
Chorus:
That's why I see, so many times
Thats why I felt, all of those lonely nights
Sometimes I feel your heart
Beat close to mine
Wishing I could hold you once again
Middle 8:
When I call you up to say hello
My body shivers I can't let go
The reality of you and me
Who am I fooling it's just a dream
I got to brace myself to get over you
Tell me baby, what am I going to do?
Chorus(x3):
That's why I see, so many times
That's why I felt, all of those lonely nights
Sometimes I feel your heart
Beat close to mine
Wishing I could hold you once again
Wishing I could love you once again
Verse 1:
You were always telling me
That I would be the only one
So good for you, so good for you

Having fun
So good for you, so good for you
But oh oh, oh oh
Now I don't know if I should stay
Or I should go
Chorus:
Hw much more can one heart break
Before I take one step away from you
How much more can this go on
Before it's gone
And our love will break in two
Verse 2:
No matter what you did
You thought that I would never walk away
So good for you, so good for you
Everytime I tried
You knew that I would turn around and stay
So good for you, so good for you
But oh oh, oh oh
I'm telling you my feelings
Cos you need to know
Chorus:
Hw much more can one heart break
Before I take one step away from you
How much more can this go on
Before it's gone
And our love will break in two
Middle 8:
Now I'm not sure that I can take this pain
You build me up and the you lie again
You never seem to understand
Just what I want
Now it's time for you to realise
That I'm looking for a compromise
Or you will turn around and I'll be gone
Chorus(x2):
Hw much more can one heart break
Before I take one step away from you
How much more can this go on
Before it's gone
And our love will break in two
You ask me if I love you
And I choke on my reply
I'd rather hurt you honestly
Than mislead you with a lie
And who am I to judge you
On what you say or do?
I'm only just beginning to see the real you
And sometimes when we touch
The honesty's too much
And I have to close my eyes and hide
I wanna hold you til I die
Til we both break down and cry
I wanna hold you till the fear in me subsides
Romance and all its strategy
Leaves me battling with my pride
But through the insecurity
some tenderness survives
I'm just another writer
still trapped within my truth
a hesitant prize fighter
still trapped within my youth
And sometimes when we touch
The honesty's too much
And I have to close my eyes and hide
I wanna hold you til I die
Til we both break down and cry
I wanna hold you till the fear in me subsides
At times I'd like to break you
and drive you to your knees
At times I'd like to break through
and hold you endlessly
And sometimes when we touch
The honesty's too much
And I have to close my eyes and hide
I wanna hold you til I die
Til we both break down and cry
The music's pumping, everybodys jumping
New York to Cisco, DJ's playing disco.(x2)

Let him go, don't you know
Girl you've got to take it slow

But this time baby can we make it last?

Just want to **** someone like you

Is this the way that love goes
Baby you know that I'll go with the flow

Baby you know that I'll go with the flow
Cos I want you so
If this is just a kiss please let me know
Verse 2:
As you start to dance in them leather pants
I'm thinking will I take the chance
Big eyes of blue as they stare at you
Knowing what I want to do
As you walking near, you make it clear
You dont do the one night thing
It's no surprise when u said goodbye
Saying that your not that type
Bridge:
Guys like with only one
Thing on the mind
Who lie to try to keep you so
That you will stay the night
Chorus
Tell me what you want from me
To spend the night no strings attached
So I can still be free
I'm not that kind of girl you see
Girl you don't know what this is like
Just let me go / do you have to go
Is this the way that love goes
Baby you know that I'll go with the flow
Cos I want you so

Baby you know that I'll go with the flow
Cos I want you so
