A zamindar or zemindar was an aristocrat, typically hereditary, who held enormous tracts of land and held control over his peasants, from whom the zamindars reserved the right to collect tax (often for military purposes). Over time, they took princely and royal titles such as Maharaja (Great King), Raja (King), Nawab (Lord), Mirza (Prince) Chowdhury (Lord), and many others.
Although zamindars were considered to be equivalent to lords and barons in some cases they were also seen as independent, sovereign Princes.
Often zamindars were Indian princes who lost their sovereignty due to British Rule (see: Madras Zamindari). For example, the Sivaganga Zamindari and Ramnad Zamindari were the lesser and greater Kingdom of Marava ruled by the Royal family till the 1800, ever since then they were the Zamindars of Marava.
There is no clear distinction between royal zamindars, such as Raja Venkata Ranga Rao, or merely aristocratic zamindars. Many Kings were former zamindars, such as the Royal House of Benares; conversely many new zamindars were old Kings. As a result, there is some confusion about the Indian Kingdoms about who is a King and who is a zamindar, as there were as many as 568 kingdoms and according to some other sources, 572 princely states in India before independence. During the Mughal Empire, zamindars belonged to the nobility and formed the ruling class. Emperor Akbar granted them mansabs and their ancestral domains were treated as jagirs.

Ramesh was born in Godavarikhani located in Karimnagar district, Andhra Pradesh.[1] His father was an employee at Singareni Collieries Company and his mother was a housewife. Ramesh says that he was able to sink into the drunkard character because, as a child he would watch his father get drunk and hit his mother. He would pacify his mother, make her laugh by impersonating his drunk father.[2] Ramesh eventually became good at mimicry and used to perform shows in his town. He also reveals that he is inspired by Bengali comedian Keshto Mukherjee, who like him was also famous for portraying drunkard characters.[1] Before venturing into films, Ramesh has worked as a building supervisor for 10 years. After his parents death and sister's marriage, he decided to pursue acting as a career.[1] In 2005, he joined the Akkineni Film Institute in Hyderabad.[3]
In 2006, after passing out from Akkineni Film Institute, Ramesh got an opportunity to play a small role in Sukumar’s Jagadam.[1] This was his first feature film. After Jagadam, Ramesh found several opportunities and acted in around 10 Telugu films. During this time, Ramesh got acquainted with popular Telugu actor Uttej. Uttej introduced Ramesh to top Telugu film director Krishna Vamsi. Vamsi cast him for the role of a drunkard in Mahatma.[1] The film remains as a major turning point in his career. His portrayal of drunkard character in Mahatma led to a oppurtunity to play a similar drunkard character in Ala Modalaindi directed by Nandini Reddy. His portrayal of Gowtham, a drunkard software engineer in the film became very popular among the moviegoers. Since that film, he was more commonly referred to as "Thagubothu Ramesh" (drunkard Ramesh).[1]

e conta solo chi sei e cosa vuoi davvero
So I tried but over-compensated
I thought I'd never let you go
And it was complicated
I've heard it all before
So tie my hands around my back
And burn me from a distance, you'll see
I want to be there when you
Open up your eyes and see me
Now it's OK, let's try something new
Makes me wonder if you're still alive
Makes me hold on tight to the truth, yeah the truth.
It was time and I felt obligated
I'd fucking never let you go
Why am I so frustrated? I've heard it all before
So tie my hands around my back
And burn me from a distance, you'll see
I want to be there when you
Open up your eyes and see me
Now it's OK, let's try something new
Makes me wonder if you're still alive
