Phillips may refer to:
Phillip LaDon Phillips, Jr. (born September 20, 1990) is an American singer-songwriter from Leesburg, Georgia, and the winner of the eleventh season of American Idol.
Phillips was born in Leesburg, Georgia, the son of Sheryl (née LaDon) and Phillip Phillips, Sr. He grew up in Sasser and Leesburg, and attended Lee County High School. He graduated from Albany Technical College with a major in Industrial Systems Technology, but missed the graduation ceremony due to his obligations to American Idol. Prior to appearing on American Idol, he worked at his family's pawn shop.
Phillips said his favorite singer is Jonny Lang, and other favorites include John Butler, Dave Matthews and Damien Rice. He described his music as "jazz, rock alternative sound". Phillips was mentored by long time friend and brother-in-law Benjamin Neil.
Phillips auditioned in Savannah, Georgia. He sang "Superstition" by Stevie Wonder. The judges then asked him to perform a second song with his guitar, and he performed Michael Jackson's "Thriller." He advanced to the Hollywood rounds, and later to the Las Vegas round.
Simon Phillips (born 6 February 1957) is an English jazz, pop and rock drummer.
Phillips began to play professionally at the age of twelve in his father's (Sid Phillips) Dixieland band for four years. He was then offered the chance to play in the musical Jesus Christ Superstar. He quickly became a sought-after session player and in 1992, he released two instructional videos displaying some of his best work.
Phillips found an early prominence as the drummer on the 1976 LP 801 Live with Phil Manzanera and Brian Eno. He went on to play with a wide array of musicians including Big Jim Sullivan, Big Country, Toto, Steve Lukather and Los Lobotomys, Jeff Beck, Whitesnake, Jack Bruce, Brian Eno, Duncan Browne, Toyah, Mike Oldfield, Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin, Gary Moore, 10cc, Mick Jagger, Ph.D., Joe Satriani, Russ Ballard, Mike Rutherford, Phil Manzanera, John Wetton, flamenco guitarist Juan Martin, Asia, Stanley Clarke, Jimmy Earl, Derek Sherinian, Nik Kershaw, Gordon Giltrap, Camel and Jordan Rudess.

Plot
For those, if any, who have wondered why so many Paramount contractees appeared in United Artists' films during the war years, this is another one of the Paramount productions that was sold to United Artists in the early-40's when U.A. was having trouble meeting their exhibitor contracts because of lack of product, mainly due to their loss of production in England. A group of starving, but young and willing, actors band together to share finances and an apartment. Norman Reese (William Holden) orders no love nonsense between the boys and girls till they are set on broadway, but Marge Benson (Barbara Britton) and Tony Dennison (James Beown) are already secretly married. A friend drops in to see Dottie Coburn (Martha O'Driscoll) and is shocked to find the boys and girls sharing the same apartment and insists it is her duty to inform Dottie's father (Jay Fassett.) Since Dottie is the only one with any money, the boys hurriedly pack their belongings and leave until after Mr. Coburn's visit. Seeing nothing but girls, Dad is pacified until one of the boys, George Bodell (Eddie Bracken) not in on and unaware of the "move", comes home to take a bath, and the girls, to keep Coburn in the dark, accuse him of bring a "mad housebreaker." The downstairs tenant, producer Arthur Kenny (Robert Benchley), also gets involved.

Plot
This entry in Universal's "Dead End Kids and Little Tough Guys" series is minus "The Little Tough Guys" and has only four members of "The Dead End Kids" gang. Consequently, "The Little Tough Guys" are not working for a finance company, and, for that matter, neither are the "Dead End Kids" as a group. Tommy Clark is the only one of the group that includes Pig, aka Albert , Ape and String, gainfully employed in any manner and he is working for a crooked finance company that charges the borrowers 36% interest (compounded) and more, and is constantly repossessing radios, furniture, taxi cabs and anything else the poor people of the slums buy on time payments. Tommy, who went to work for the company because the job paid more than a trainee's job he was offered in the District Attorney's office, finally sees the light and turns "stolen" evidence from the finance company over to the D.A's office.

Never shady
Running up the mountain side
Purple brocade
Woolen top coat
She cast away her useless pride
On her own
Her soul has grown
To bring about her peace of mind
In her hand
A lovely land
To help her look and search and find
Swirling forms of tantric art
Are filling out her schedule planned
And she's without a man
Woman blonde
Climbing on
To reach a level in her heart
It's the same
Without a name
You're doing fine with a running start
In the door
You'll work some more
You're finding where it's at for sure
Every other day
It will pay
You'll love to live and be the way
You feel the start of day
You'll be sad
It won't be bad
But you can get away from that
Crystal facet
Not an asset
You have your friend the jet black cat
He will follow
Crying hollow
Scratch his head and stroke his ear
He will bring you in your love now
Ever close and ever near
And you will feel no fear
I am glad
It's now a fad
But there are some who won't go on
Full expression
No suppression
But she is strong
The woman blond
Never shady
Running o'er volcanic land
Make your curry
Never worry
It is settled in your plan
Phillips
If all the kings and castles in the world are becoming one
We'll ride in the light of God's desires
And live in their house of none
Conceived with the eyes of total love
Live in the heart of everyone in love
And those that are there can find us
And those that are not won't bind us
For we cannot believe in the madness of your kindness
And do you believe in changes
And the way that the Lord arranges?
Are we going to fight Him every step of the way?
And small steps make a distance
And I know your love reminiscence
But the fact of the matter remains that we have to change
And changes are the best way we can learn to be
I see it in the fields and the forests
And the colors in the rippling sea
And in the ponds of stagnant water
From the lack of running free
And peace is just a state of being
It can come from letting love inside
Filling you with warmth and calmness
It's all that we can do is try
And share it in the human circle
