A constituent state, constituent entity, or constituent part, is a territorial and constitutional entity forming part of a sovereign state. A constituent state holds administrative jurisdiction over a defined geographic territory and is a form of regional government.

Constituent entities united in a federal union under a federal government are more specifically known as federated states.

Administrative units that are not federated but enjoy a greater degree of autonomy or self-government than others within the same country can be considered constituent states of a larger sovereign state. This relationship is called a federacy.Autonomous republics like Karakalpakstan in Uzbekistan and Crimea in Ukraine are examples.

States existing in free association with another can be considered constituent states of a sovereign entity. For example, the Cook Islands, New Zealand and Niue constitute the three constituent entities of the Realm of New Zealand, united under a single head of state, which is the Queen of New Zealand.

Narendra Damodardas Modi (Gujarati: નરેન્દ્ર મોદી; born 17 September 1950) is the current Chief Minister of the Indian state of Gujarat. Born in a middle class family in Vadnagar, he was the third of six children born to Damodardas Mulchand Modi and his wife Heeraben. He has been a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) since childhood also having interest in politics since adolescence. He holds a master's degree in political science. In 1998, he was chosen by L. K. Advani, the leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), to direct the election campaign in Gujarat as well as Himachal Pradesh.

He became Chief Minister of Gujarat in October 2001, promoted to the office at a time when his predecessor Keshubhai Patel had resigned, following the defeat of BJP in the by-elections. His tenure as chief minister of Gujarat began on 7 October 2001, and he is the longest serving Chief Minister of the state of Gujarat. In July 2007 he became the longest serving Chief Minister in Gujarat's history when he had been in power for 2063 days continuously. He was elected again for a third term on 23 December 2007 in the state elections, which he had cast as a "referendum on his rule".

Warren Kampf is an American politician and attorney, and member of the Republican Party. In 2010, he was elected to represent the 157th District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, defeating incumbent Democrat Paul Drucker. Drucker has since announced his intention to seek a rematch with Kampf in the 2012 election.

Brian D. Nieves is a Republican member of the Missouri Senate and a former Majority Whip in the Missouri House of Representatives. Nieves represents the 26th district, which covers Franklin County, Warren County, and part of St.Louis County.

Nieves is a graduate of Pacific High School in Franklin County. In 1984, Nieves enlisted in the United States Navy, serving ten years as a Hospital Corpsman, as a field medic alongside Marines.

Following his military service, Nieves returned to Franklin County. He currently resides in Washington, MO with his wife, Julie, and their three children: Alexandra, Moriah, and Victor.

Nieves is the host of a morning talk radio show called "The Patriot Enclave" on KWMO 1350 AM in Washington, MO and functions as KWMO's marketing director. He and his wife also operate Nieves Enterprises and Hwy 66 Auto Sales. Additionally, Nieves serves as a high school substitute teacher and is also a Zone Pastor of Living Bread Church. Nieves frequently speaks to groups about small business operations, concentrating in the areas of professional development and team building.

Sheila Harsdorf (born July 25, 1956) is a Republican member of the Wisconsin Senate, representing the 10th District since 2001. She previously served in the Wisconsin Assembly, representing District 30 from 1989 to 1999.

Harsdorf was born in Stillwater, Minnesota in 1956 and her family moved to River Falls, Wisconsin in 1970. Harsdorf graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1978 with a B.S. in Animal Science, and returned to River Falls to become a loan officer for the Production Credit Association while farming part-time on the Harsdorf family dairy farm. Two years later, she and her older brother, Jim, became partners in the family business.

While farming full-time, Harsdorf was a member of the Pierce County Farm Bureau Board of Directors from 1982 to 1988, serving as treasurer for three years. She also served as chair of the Pierce County Dairy Promotion Committee in 1986. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the Pierce-Pepin Holstein Breeders Association, was a graduate of the Wisconsin Rural Leadership Program, and was involved in Pierce County 4-H as a member of the Dairy Committee and a coach of the Dairy Judging Team.
