The Meaning of Love - A Sufi Poem by Rumi Music of Santoor (An Ancient Persian Instrument) played gracefully by Pashang & Siavash Kamkar. Video courtesy of the Earth Science and Remote Sensing Unit, NASA Johnson Space Center Other images of Whirling dervishes taken from the web. Digital cover courtesy of Behnam Karami The Meaning of Love Both light and shadow are the dance of Love. Love has no cause; it is the astrolabe of God's secrets. Lover and Loving are inseparable and timeless. Although I may try to describe Love when I experience it I am speechless. Although I may try to write about Love I am rendered helpless; my pen breaks and the paper slips away at the ineffable place where Lover, Loving and Loved are one. Every moment is made glorious by the light of Love. Âsıklık gönül iniltisinden belli olur, hiçbir hastalık gönül hastalıgı gibi degildir. Âsıgın hastalıgı bütün hastalıklardan ayrıdır. Ask, Allah sırlarının usturlâbıdır. .

In the latter part of the sixth century of Islam, an Iranian Scholar by the name of Fakhr ad-Dīn ar-Rāzī (rahimahullah) produced a hundred page treatise on the theological discourse of the Names of Attributes of Allāh (subḥānahu wa ta'āla). His treatise was presented to a Sultan who was related to Ṣalāḥ ad-Dīn al-Ayyūbi (rahimahullah). In it, he propounded something he called 'The Universal Rule', which stated that if reason conflicted with revelation, precedence must be given to reason over revelation. Some two centuries later, one of the greatest thinkers of Islamic history, hailing from the city of Damascus, produced a ten-volume magnum opus refuting this alleged 'Universal Rule'. The name of this man was Shaykh al-Islām Taqī'l-Dīn Ahmad b. Abd al-Haleem Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah), a genius whose intellectual brilliance is hardly seen during or after his era. Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi, who regards Shaykh'l-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah) as an intellectual mentor, spent eight years examining the above-mentioned work, and presented it as his PhD dissertation at Yale University. In his work, Ibn Taymiyya argues that there can never be an actual conflict between true reason and explicit revelation. Join Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi in this very interesting and academic talk on a summary of his dissertation at Yale University. Recorded on 22nd March 2013
Islamic eschatology is the branch of Islamic scholarship that studies Yawm al-Qiyāmah (pronounced yome-ul-key-ah-mah; Arabic: يوم القيامة "the Day of Resurrection") or Yawm ad-Dīn (pronounced yome-ud-dean; يوم الدين "the Day of Judgment"). This is believed to be the final assessment of humanity by Allah, consisting of the annihilation of all life, resurrection and judgment. The time of the event is not specified, although there are major and minor signs which have been foretold to happen with Qiyamah at the end of time. Many verses of Qur'anic Sura contain the motif of the impending Day of Resurrection. The 75th Sura of the Qur'an, "al-Qiyama", has as its main subject the resurrection. Its tribulation is also described in the hadith, and commentaries of Islamic expositors such as al-Ghazali, Ibn Kathir, Ibn Majah, al-Bukhari, and Ibn Khuzaymah. The Day of Judgment is also known as the Day of Reckoning, the Last Day and al-sā'ah, or the Hour. The hadith describe the end time with more specificity than the Qur'an, describing the events of al-Qiyamah through 10 major signs. At the time of judgment, terrible corruption and chaos will rule. The Mahdi will be sent and with the help of Isa, will battle Masih ad-Dajjal. They will triumph, liberating Islam from cruelty, and this will be followed by a time of serenity with people living true to religious values.

A fallacious notion that shale modern Western Muslims have is that we must strive the dunya and for the din... well we can just slack because we think we are guaranteed Jannah (which I pray we all are) and we take shortcuts to make things easy on ourselves but the reality is that this life of the good dunya and the din consists of struggle and Mawlana Hamza Maqbul explains it at MMYC 2014.

Huffington Post 2012-10-23Dīn (دين, also anglicized as Deen) is an Arabic word commonly associated with Islam, but also used in Arab Christian worship. The term is sometimes translated as "religion", but as used in the Qur'an, it refers both to the path along which righteous Muslims travel in order to comply with divine law, or Shari'a, and to the divine judgment or recompense to which all humanity must inevitably face without intercessors before God. Thus, although secular Muslims[who?] would say that their practical interpretation of Dīn conforms to "religion" in the restricted sense of something that can be carried out in separation from other areas of life, both mainstream and reformist Muslim writers take the word to mean an all-encompassing way of life carried out under the auspices of God's divine purpose as expressed in the Qur'an and hadith. As one notably progressive Muslim writer puts it, far from being a discrete aspect of life carried out in the mosque, "Islam is Dīn, a complete way of life"
How the term Dīn came to be used in Islamic Arabia is uncertain, but its use in modern Persian may derive etymologically from the Zoroastrian concept, Daena, which represents "insight" and "revelation", and from this "conscience" and "religion". Here, Daena is the Eternal Law, which was revealed to humanity through the Mathra-Spenta ("Holy Words"). Alternatively, the Hebrew term "דין", transliterated as "dīn", means either "law" or "judgement". In the Kabbalah of Judaism, the term can, alongside "Gevurah", refer to "power", and to "judgement".

Somewhere; out there; a lovely place for me and you
If you believe there's a tomorrow
you'll believe in pain and sorrow
Understand to work on love

I understand just how you feel
I understand your pain is real
But keep your head up to the sky
and don't forget the reason why
And if you don't believe it's true

Oh what so clean so try to me (?)
I'll find this world for me and you
You won't be strong and take my hand
I'm sure that you will understand
