The Raconteurs /ˌrækɒnˈtɜrz/ (also known as The Saboteurs in Australia) is an American rock band that was formed in Detroit, Michigan, featuring four members known for other musical projects: Jack White (of The White Stripes and The Dead Weather), Brendan Benson (solo), Jack Lawrence (of The Greenhornes, Blanche and The Dead Weather), and Patrick Keeler (also of The Greenhornes).
The band is based in Nashville, Tennessee. According to the band's official website, "The seed was sown in an attic in the middle of a hot summer when friends Jack White and Brendan Benson got together and wrote a song that truly inspired them. This song was 'Steady, As She Goes' and the inspiration led to the creation of a full band with the addition of Lawrence and Keeler." The band came together in Detroit during 2005 and recorded when time allowed for the remainder of the year. Due to the various members' success in other bands, they were quickly dubbed a supergroup. The band, however, asserted they were not, saying that the term implies something pre-planned or temporary, whereas they are actually "a new band made up of old friends."

In February 2012, MTV listed Meek Mill as the #7 hottest MC in their annual "Hottest MCs in the Game" list.

He was a finalist in Second Annual Johnnie Walker National Comedy Search in 1989, eventually leading to a long stint as host of It's Showtime at the Apollo, succeeding Mark Curry in that role. His success as a stand-up comedian led to a starring role on the ABC show Me and the Boys in 1994. He would later star on the WB network show, The Steve Harvey Show, which ran from 1996 to 2002. While wildly popular in the African-American community (the show won multiple NAACP Image Awards), the show never achieved critical acclaim outside of the African-American community, a matter about which Harvey has often complained.

Plot
A scared young French 'flic', his violently racist colleagues, a polite Algerian schoolboy, a scrupulous police sergeant, a tenacious journalist, hot-blooded merciless FLN-militants (FLN = the National Liberation Front of Algeria), a naive school teacher, a nasty chief of police and a ruthless police prefect are all featuring in a possible string of events leading up to an actual piece of French-Algerian history: the bloody confrontation between a peaceful, 20,000 strong FLN-demonstration and a bloodthirsty police mob in the streets of Paris, on the night of October 17, 1961.

My baby's on the level
And I try to read her mind
She's on the straight and narrow
I'm guessin' all the time
And I can see the road
If I'm lookin' at the signs
I'm carryin' the load
And steppin' outta line
[Repeat with Jack calling the lines back to Brendan]
My baby's on the level
And I try to read her mind
She's on the straight and narrow
I'm guessin' all the time
And I can see the road
If I'm lookin' at the signs
I'm carryin' the load
Its not what you say, you know it's not enough
You think that you can take, you think i'll give in first
You say it's nothing, i build it all up in my mind
Its not what you say, i know how you lie
You think you can wash away, the blood of all your crimes
You take you think you can, i bleed for what i can't you take you think you can, this is all i have
You say it's nothing, i build it all up in my mind
Waking and i'm sore, pulling out the thorns i lay it on the line, wake and you will find...
I just want things to change, it's not all right
You take you think you can, i bleed for what i can't you take you think you can, this is all i have
You say it's nothing, i build it all up in my mind
You say it's nothing
I've cried, I've weeped,
I've dodged, I've creeped,
but I may have made a promise that I can't keep
I consider this a down time
I'm at a loss for words right now
I've made my mark
and I've said my peace
and then I'm gonna dig a hole 12 feet deep
You and I can step inside
and wave the world goodbye
That's right, the pain keeps coming
So move it back until you're five feet from it
That's right, the pain keeps coming
So move it back until you're five feet from it
I've held my ground, I've lost and found
I've been turnin' this whole place upside down
and this will be the last time
I'm gonna fall for this my friend
I've licked my wounds
and payed my dues
while puttin' myself in another man's shoes
Realize there's more to life
Then just another easy ride
That's right, the pain keeps coming
So move it back until you're five feet from it
That's right, the pain keeps coming
So move it back until you're five feet from it
My hands are tied
but at least I try
cause I'm willing and able
Tell me why, is this mind
So unstable?
Movin' to the moon real soon, I'm helpless
Givin' and livin' up another last goodbye
The question I presume is have you felt this?
If not, resume and let the motherfucker die
That's right, the pain keeps coming
So move it back until you're five feet from it
That's right, the pain keeps coming
So move it back until you're five feet from it
My hands are tied
but at least I try
cause I'm willing and able
Tell me why, is this mind
So unstable?
This will hurt worse than the first time,
I'll take another blast for the last time
This will hurt worse than the first time,
I'll take another blast for the last time
This will hurt worse than the first time,
I'll take another blast for the last time
This will hurt worse than the first time,
I'll take another blast for the last time
My hands are tied
but at least I try
cause I'm willing and able
Tell me why, is this mind
I lock myself into my room
Cause I'm better off here alone
Thinking in circles about what to do
(And I forget)
About the world cause it ain't worth changing
Regreting the promises that I've been breakin'
It's becomin' a place through space and time
Like a permanent part of me
You think you're suffering
And you're too good for me
Then oh, I'm sorry
Maybe I'm a little bit much for you
Way past disaster proof
And oh, I'm sorry too
And I know that it's almost over
I can feel it in the air
You and I we're through
Sometimes I tend to drift away
And I guess I'm missing all the small things
You meant for me to hear you say (and you)
Better make it quick, or you might get sick
As I'm sealin your fate
With a kiss as I burn that bridge to the point of no return
It's becoming a race to place the blame
So, forget an apology
You think you're suffering
You're too good for me
Then oh, I'm sorry
Maybe I'm a little bit much for you
Way past disaster proof
And oh, I'm sorry too
And I know that it's almost over
I can feel it in the air
You and I we're through
You and I can talk for hours
About all the things we wished we'd done
And everything will soon devour
Slowly fading into one
You and I can talk for hours...
You think you're suffering
You're too good for me
And oh, I'm sorry
Maybe I'm a little bit much for you
Way past disaster proof
Then oh, I'm sorry too
And I know that it's almost over
I can feel it in the air
You're not afraid of letting go, just to be lonely, lonely
It's better if I never know who's been there before me, no way
Now that I've seen the bitter truth
That's why covering up each and every little thing's got me thinking you should take it all back now
My path of least resistance, always winds around, but never goes straight through
I've seen enough of the pieces shattered, I've seen enough of the naked truth
And there's only one day that this won't matter, when we're falling off of the face of the earth, face of the earth
I've never seen a miracle happen so slowly, slowly
It's pitiful how critical it is for you to show me how much you know me
I'm tired of pretending, too
Now you're living with it, now you're living with it
You're forgiven and I'm past all that now
Excuses never ending, they'll come back around and haunt your every move
I've seen enough of the pieces shattered, I've seen enough of the naked truth
And there's only one day that this won't matter, when we're falling off of the face of the earth
That's why covering up each and every little thing's got me
Thinking you should take it all back now
Now you're living with it, now you're living with it
You're forgiven and I'm past all that now
That's why covering up each and every little thing's got me
Thinking you should take it all back now
Now you're living with it, now you're living with it
You're forgiven and I'm past all that now
I've seen enough of the pieces shattered, I've seen enough of the naked truth
And there's only one day that this won't matter, when we're falling off of the face of the earth, oh
I've seen enough of the pieces shattered, I've seen enough of the naked truth
You were the only one who
I could spill my guts out to
What you said to me
When the men in blue come and took you away
But it's not your fault
Your mama never thought you should know better
Don't you worry Curt
I won't let them hurt you
I won't let them hurt you now
I remember when half dead said
Ain't it all about where you're from
But really where you're at
So we gotta get past all that for now
But it's not your fault
Your papa never thought to send the letter
You better hurry, Curt
They've got this place surrounded
I ain't gonna let them through
I won't let them hurt you
I ain't gonna let them through
I won't let them hurt you
I ain't gonna let them through
I won't let them hurt you
I ain't gonna let them through
I won't let them hurt you
I won't let them hurt you now
I knew it was too late
When I saw them peeking through the window
Maybe I can talk them down
While you go slipping out the back door
I told you time and time again
It doesn't have to be like this
But no, there ain't nothing I can do
They've got this place surrounded
I ain't gonna let them through
I won't let them hurt you
I ain't gonna let them through
I won't let them hurt you
I ain't gonna let them through
I won't let them hurt you
I ain't gonna let them through
I won't let them hurt you
I won't let them hurt you now
They've got this place surrounded
They've got this place surrounded
There's nothing I can do
They've got this place surrounded (no, oh, no, oh)
They've got this place surrounded
There's nothing I can do
They've got this place surrounded
There's nothing I can do
Please could you stay awhile and share my grief
It's such a lovely day to have to always feel this way
and time that I will suffer less is when I never have to wait
Wandering stars, oh for whom it is reserved
The blackness of darkness forever
Wandering stars, oh for whom it is reserved
The blackness of darkness forever
Those who have seen the needles I now shed
Like a husk from much all that was now has fled
and the masks that the monsters wear, see upon their prey
Wandering stars, oh for whom it is reserved
The blackness of darkness forever
Wandering stars, oh for whom it is reserved
The blackness of darkness forever
Come on up inside, take awhile
Just to, just to share my grief
Just to, just to share my grief
I'm doubled out inside, taunted and cruel, so cruel
Wandering stars, oh for whom it is reserved
The blackness of darkness forever
Wandering stars, oh for whom it is reserved
The blackness of darkness forever
Wandering stars, oh
Wandering stars, oh
Wandering stars, oh
So set them up and watch them fall.Ignore the call.So put
it in and cut your rounds. You're back around. With apathy
and all your strength, you flex your length. And in the
end there's nothing left.There's nothing left.Did you
learn to covet?Did you learn your hatred well?Did you
learn deception? You say there must be something more. You
can't move home. There's nothing left. The colors run and
bleed to grey. It's always grey.So put your back against
the wind and focus in.Remember when you wanted life, you
held the knife.I'm not afraid to set it straight. It's too
I've made a list of things
That meant a lot to me
Put em' on my pillow for the morning after
Mother don't you cry
Yes, I know you tried
Just remember all the love and laughter we felt
Voices carry through my mind
They're telling me it's time
So long
So long
So long
This decision has been given
Despite the rights that we have wronged
Embrace the moments or we'll miss them
That's the warning for this morning, son
A shadow of a man staring back at me
Said Son you're headed for a huge disaster
No need to learn the truth
If you're gonna burn the proof
And no bandage heals the damage to my character
Voices carry down now
They're giving me a sign
Hold on
Hold on
Hold on
This decision has been given
Despite the rights that we have wronged
Embrace the moments or we'll miss them
That's the warning for this morning, son
This decision has been given
Despite the rights that we have wronged
Embrace the moments or we'll miss them
That's the warning for this morning
And that's the warning for this morning, son
Once I tried to tell em that I'm creeping up
Right behind you
But they had a little trouble In believing that I'd
ever be fast enough
Or even strong enough so what the hell was I thinking
All eyes on me
What's enough now I'm back with another brick with
another tactic
I'll drink that water from the well
If It'll help me help me
I'll tell those stories that you tell
If It'll help me help me
I'll sink a well well well
I'll sink a well well well
I'll sink a well well well
I'll sink a well
I'll raise my cup to all the others who've been
hollering
Right above you
But I got a funny feeling that I may not preach but
I'll never fold
Boy you better do what you're told
Keep your enemies close and they close so tight
Smoke with their coats from last night's fight
I'll drink that water from the well
If It'll help me help me
I'll tell those stories that you tell
If It'll help me help me
I'll sink a well well well
I'll sink a well well well
I'll sink a well well well
I'll sink a well
And it shoots right through me
Like the wind with the windows down
And it speaks right to me
When I knew right there when I heard that sound
I'll drink that water from the well
If It'll help me help me
I'll tell those stories that you tell
If It'll help me help me
I'll sink a well well well
I'll sink a well well well
I'll sink a well well well
I'll sink a well well well
I'll sink a well well well
I'll sink a well well well
I'll sink a well well well
I'll sink a well well well
Yeah and I'll sink a
Yeah and I'll sink a
Yeah and I'll sink a
When the morning comes
I like to think that I'm the one
To decide when to swallow all my pride
What my think tank does
Is makes an attempt to rid the fuzz
That's accumulated from all the freak of nature's fumes
It's so cold
And It's so cruel
When the clock starts ticking
And you're feelin' it slip away
It's so cold
And It's so cruel
When the clock starts ticking
And you're feelin' it slip away
Down
You can't help but bring me
Down
You can't help but bring me
Down
You can't help but bring me
Down
You can't help but bring me
I may invade the space
Of those who just can't keep the pace
So they gotta make room for each and every seed to bloom
Is it much to soon
To assume that I've become immune
To the world, all of it's infected dreams
It's so cold
And It's so cruel
When the clock starts ticking
And you're feelin' it slip away
It's so cold
And It's so cruel
When the clock starts ticking
And you're feelin' it slip away
Down
You can't help but bring me
Down
You can't help but bring me
Down
You can't help but bring me
Down
You can't help but bring me
Now, At this point I just don't see no need to continue
(Screams/Shouts) Fuck!
Down
You can't help but bring me
Down
You can't help but bring me
Down
You can't help but bring me
Down
I know a place where the sun seems to shine, I know a place where my heart
Lies
Show me the way, cause it's been such a long time, since I've been home to
See the sunrise
I know a place, where the soul feels alright I know a place, where the pain
Subsides
Show me the way cause it's been such a long time, since I've been home to
See the sun rise
(Chorus)
It's a long ride home from here
Such a long ride home from here
It's a long ride home from here
Such a long ride home from here
I know a place, where the roads seem to wind, I know a place where my heart
Lies
Show me the way, cause it's been such a long time since I've been home to
Watch a sunrise
(Chorus)
It's a long ride home from here
Such a long ride home from here
It's a long ride home from here
Such a long ride home from here
(Solo)
I know a place where the sun seems to shine, I know a place where my heart
Lies
Show me the way, cause it's been such a long time, since I've been home to
See the sunrise
(Chorus)
It's a long ride home from here
Such a long ride home from here
It's a long ride home from here
You bring me down, every time I see you
You bring me down, systematic creature
You bring me down, never said forever
You bring me down, glad were not together
You bring me down, I remain the same
You bring me down, your the one who's changed
You bring me down, like a dam disease
You bring me down, you'll be the death of me
(Chorus)
Life goes on
The day goes on
Life goes on
And I'll be gone
You bring me down, every time I see you
You bring me down, systematic creature
You bring me down, never said forever
You bring me down, glad were not together
You bring me down, I remain the same
You bring me down, your the one who's changed
You bring me down, like a dam disease
You bring me down, you'll be the death of me
(Chorus)
Life goes on
The day goes on
Life goes on
And I'll be gone
You got to move on
You got to move on
You got to move on
(Chorus)
Life goes on,
The day goes on
Life goes on
In the middle of
something that I'd rather not say
just can't get enough
each time I try
I don't wanna play that game
We got to maintain this thing
I'm never giving up
never really crossed my mind but
someday, I'm gonna turn this ugly,
into something lovely
But the whole time you've been thinking
you've got the best of me, best of me
you've got the best of me, best of me
Now I feel a change
and something could be coming my way,
just sit back and wait
it's my time to shine,
it's been a few days, but who's counting,
when you're found floating face down in the fountain?
Can't make the same mistakes
Never really crossed my mind, but
someday, I'm gonna turn this ugly,
into something lovely
But the whole time you've been thinking
you've got the best of me, best of me
you've got the best of me, best of me
Maybe all I've ever really wanted was a place to lay my head,
mother may I,
treat the world as if I,
knew all along,
you got the best [best] of [of] me
You've got the best of me, best of me
you've got the best of...
The sun sends us another day
I wipe the frost from my window
But, not quite like it used to be
Even the clouds are in a hurry
The kids gotta get off to school yeah, yeah
We can? t deny them their learning oh no
Never gave a damn about the morning news
Those affairs aren't my worry
I? m not concerned if the minimum wage is at an all time low
Shame has defamed our economy, yeah
I? m not overwhelmed with gloom even though it? s sad girl
? Cause after lovin' someone like you, what in the world could be so bad
No guarantees that this time will come again baby
So cherish this moment
No guarantees that our love will be like this again girl
So let? s cherish this moment baby
We may never love again on earth
So when it comes lets embrace it baby, baby
No matter how hard it? s been, babe
I don? t believe we can replace it
Forget my troubles when you? re around baby
Even though it might look scary yeah, yeah
I? m so happy that we kind of settled down girl
Lovin' you is primary
I? m not concerned if the minimum wage is at an all time low
Shame has defamed our economy
I? m not overwhelmed with gloom even though it's sad
? Cause after lovin' someone like you
What in the world could be so bad
No guarantees that this time will come again babe, yeah, yeah
Oh let? s cherish this moment girl
No guarantees our lips will meet quite like this again girl
So let? s cherish this moment
There are no guarantees that we will live as free, yeah as we're right now
Cherish this moment
No guarantees our love will drift like this again girl
I want to share this moment
I want to stay here in this moment baby
Time spent away, from you
Spent away, from you
How can I turn back time
And undo this to make things right
To make things right
To make things right
(Chorus)
So I walked away, from you, and I take this pain, for
So I walked away, from you, and I take this pain, for
The choice is made, I have to go
We had good times, I hope you know
I hope you know
I hope you know
(Chorus)
And I walked away, from you, and I take this pain, for
So I walked away, from you, and I take this pain, for
Time spent away from you
Time spent away from you
Time spent away from you
Time spent away from you
(Chorus)
So I walked away, from you, and I take this pain, for
So I walked away, from you, and I take this pain, for
So I walked away, from you, and I take this pain, for
For you
For you
And I want to be the one to
And I want to take the blame
And I want to take the burden
And I want to feel the pain
Do do do do
Do do do do
Do do do do
Do do do do
I want to be the one to
Who brings a smile to your pretty face
And I want to be the one to
Who takes away from that dark and lonely place
Do do do do
Do do do do
Do do do do
Do do do do
(Chorus)
Tell me that this ain't the end, about to lose my best
friend
There's got to be another way, wish I could just rewind
this day
Tell me that this ain't the end, about to lose my best
friend
There's got to be another way, wish I could just rewind
this day
Do do do do
Do do do do
Yeah
I want to be the one to
Who show you that the world belongs to him
And everything that you see around you
One day wont be so grim
Do do do do
Do do do do
Do do do do
I want to be the one to
Who brings a smile to your pretty face
And I want to be the one
Who takes away from that dark and lonely place
(Chorus)
Tell me that this ain't the end, about to lose my best
friend
There's got to be another way, wish I could just rewind
this day
Tell me that this ain't the end, about to lose my best
friend
There's got to be another way, wish I could just rewind
this day
Tell me that this ain't the end, about to lose my best
friend
There's got to be another way, wish I could just rewind
this day
Do do do do
Do do do do
Do do do do

Ever since the day we parted ways my god how I've missed you
Your touch your kiss the way you smile, your eyes your lips so beautiful,
Beautiful
(Chorus)
She will, she will make you smile
She will, she will make you smile
Our love is so rare in so many ways, our love it grows stronger
I swear I can tell with each passing day, we will be forever
Your touch your kiss the way you smile, your eyes, your lips, so beautiful,
Beautiful
(Chorus)
She will, she will make you smile
She will, she will make you smile
She will, she will make you smile
She will, she will make you smile
How do I live, how do I love, how do I breath, I can't can't live without you
How do I live, how do I love how do I breath, I can't can't live without you
How do I live, how do I love how do I breath, I can't can't live without you
How do I live, how do I love how do I breath, I can't can't live without you
(Chorus)
She will, she will make you smile
She will, she will make you smile
She will, she will make you smile
God, she's the devil before me
she wears the form of an angel
she's the messiah of suffering
she turned her back on the downside
her presence here makes you obsolete
how can you stare so blankly when you see, oh God
she's trying to get me to backslide
she's trying to get me too
I've got two choices before me
her eyes are glaring and callous
I wish it wasn't so simple
to give it all to the moment
her presence here makes you obsolete
how can you stare so blankly when you see, oh God
she's trying to get me to backslide
she's trying to get me too
I'm baited like a child. Say sugar I say yes. There's no
time for my convictions
so compromise, compromise
I'm going to pay for this. I know I can't say yes but,
she's a goddess and I want to.
she's trying to get me to backslide
You see me
I look at you
Tell me what I have to do
You see me
I look at you
What have I got to lose (Oh! Oh!)
Tell me why, tell me why
You're mad at me
I didn't do anything
Tell me what, Tell me what
What I can do
To make it up to you
(Make it up to you) (Yeah! Oh!)
Tell me, tell me
Tell me what I did wrong
Tell me, tell me
Tell me why it's been so long
So long, so long
It's been so long since you've
Talked to me
I'm gonna scream and let
My feelings free
I can't believe that you think that
You think that you can do
Whatever you want
But it turns out that you're wrong
(Oh! Oh! Oh!)
When I see you
I get shivers
Up and down my spine
Now that I see you
For the first time
In so long
I get this feelin'
Badabampa
When you're by my side
So don't you go
And hurt my feelings... anymore
(Intro Bridge)
oh me I'm fine
don't mine me as I cover my eyes
I'm just afraid of what I can't stand
if ya gotta go
then run go catch it
catch it if you can
oh me I'm fine
don't mine me as I cover my eyes
I'm just afraid of what I can't stand
if ya gotta go
then run go catch it
catch it if you can
indirectly I have spoken
about what I bring
to the table that will keep this goin'
all I ever wanted was a place in line
it's written all over my face
and I can't deny it
never think twice my advice just try it
It's like walkin' a creaky plank
While juggling sticks of fire
Its decision time
Which form of coping are you going to hire
or fire
inspired to be
everything I'm not supposed to be
which leaves absolutely no reason
for me to bring you down with me
Ah, ah, uh, ah, oh
what I meant by anything goes
I can spin a cornflake into gold
Ah, ah, uh, ah, oh
I consider myself a supa dupa
I'm a supa hero
underneath these clothes
always thought of myself
as one who draws their own line
but what good is a perfect painting
if it's left behind
so with precision of stealth
the question I keep asking myself
if I submit would it be better for my people
the tension of a rubber band
never seems to ever stand
for nothing at all
naked and bleeding till they fall
so with precision of stealth
the question I keep asking myself
if I submit would it me better for my people
those who return tomorrow
can beg or borrow
Ah, ah, uh, ah, oh
what I meant by anything goes
I can spin a cornflake into gold
Ah, ah, uh, ah, oh
I consider myself a supa dupa
I'm a supa hero
underneath these clothes
it's gonna be mine all mine!
Mine all mine
it's gonna be mine all mine!
oh me I'm fine
don't mine me as I cover my eyes
I'm just afraid of what I can't stand
if ya gotta go
then run go catch it
catch it if you can
Ah, ah, uh, ah, oh
what I meant by anything goes
I can spin a cornflake into gold
Ah, ah, uh, ah, oh
I consider myself a supa dupa
I'm a supa hero
underneath these clothes
oh me I'm fine
don't mine me as I cover my eyes
I'm just afraid of what I can't stand
if ya gotta go
then run go catch it
catch it if you can
oh me I'm fine(Ah, ah, uh, ah, oh)
don't mine me as I cover my eyes(Ah, ah, uh, ah, oh)
I'm just afraid of what I can't stand
if ya gotta go
then run go catch it
My fists are closing tightly,
The moon is shining brightly,
I'm praying that I'm not the only one,
Gotta keep my sentimental,
Side so confidential,
and save it for when all is said and done
Now I'm leaving this conversation,
With an evident conformation,
That's usually lying right before my eyes,
yeah, But not to mention,
I can almost feel the tension,
It's building in the air as it starts to rise
I am, I'll be,
But I can't control it
Cause it's living inside of me
I am, I'll be,
But I can't control it
It's living inside of me
Rumble feelin,
The earth starts to crumble,
A new world beings to tumble,
Above ya, beside ya, beneath ya,
Sometimes on a rare occasion,
Gotta face my situation,
It hits me when I'm staring at the sun
I am, I'll be,
But I can't control it
Cause it's living inside of me
I am, I'll be,
But I can't control it
It's living inside of me
I said the past keeps coming,
Back to haunt me but,
I can't keep running can't,
Retrace my steps and
Erase all the mistakes I made,
Keep my head held high
Laughing at the sky
I am, I'll be,
But I can't control it
Cause it's living inside of me
I am, I'll be,
But I can't control it
It's living inside of me
Well I can't control it
Well I can't control it
Well I can't control it
It's living inside of me
Well I can't control it
Well I can't control it
Well I can't control it
VERSE 1:
Sometimes late at night
I lie awake and watch her sleeping
She's lost in peaceful dreams
So I turned out the light
As I lay there in the dark
And a thought crosses my mind
If I never wake in the morning
Will she ever doubt
The way I feel about her, in my heart
CHORUS:
If tomorrow never comes
Will she know how much I loved her
Did I try in every way
To show her every day
She's my only one.
If my time on earth were through
She must face this world without me
So the love I gave her in the past
Would it be enough to last
If tomorrow never comes.
VERSE 2:
Cause I've lost loved ones in my life
Who never knew how much I loved them
Now I live with the regret, that my true feelings for them
never were revealed,
So I made a promise to myself
To say each day how much she means to me
And avoid that circumstance
Where's no second chance
to tell her how I feel
CHORUS:
If tomorrow never comes
will she know how much I loved her,(how much I loved her)
Did I try in every way
To show her every day
Shes my only one.
If my time on earth were through
She must face this world without me
So the love I gave her in the past
Would it be enough to last
If tomorrow never comes
So tell it to someone that you love
Just what you're thinking of
Going through the change, when it rains it pours these days
Nothing stays the same, you gotta find new ways
To swim upstream, while you chase your dreams
And in between you keep your sanity
Chorus:
Waiting on life to Level
Waiting on something stable
Maybe soon I'll be able
To rest my head again
Never thought I'd see the day, I'd hear the old man say
It could end this way, why did it end this way
And the young kids know, they'll be on their own
And you can't go home; no you can't go home
Waiting on life to Level
Waiting on something stable
Maybe soon I'll be able
To rest my head again
Ups and Downs, what goes around comes around
They don't get the hint downtown; they try to hold you down
Waiting on life to Level
Waiting on something stable
Maybe soon I'll be able
We level, top down with my crew coasting
We level, burn round while the sun beaming
We level, top down with my crew coasting
We level, level with these palm trees
I wanna be cuder than the newport
Pimping like we too short
King of my sidewalk, chilling like a true lord
Dreaming of the hills, what you fucking up my view for?
Bopping up the floors out the capetown
Niggas stop, but we ain't chasing nothing off baywatch
On these roller wheels, bitches with the brakes off
Refuge, hustles with the g's to the oz's
One day we'll be level with the palm trees
We level, top down with my crew coasting
We level, burn round while the sun beaming
We level, top down with my crew coasting
We level, level with these palm trees
Level with the palm trees,
I wanna be leaning down the one ten
Faded with the sunset
Never stress a chain, we a trick away from success
Kicking in like cortez, sipping on the porches
Overlook my fortress, southern cali gorgeous
Down with everybody like a local weed dealer
Dreams of tropic cans you stole some premium tequilas
Refuge, hustles with the g's to the oz's
One day we'll be level with the palm trees
We level, top down with my crew coasting
We level, burn round while the sun beaming
We level, top down with my crew coasting
We level, level with these palm trees
Level with the palm trees
Inhale, exhale, level with the angels
Rolling with my head high, further from the pavement
On another level, on another level
Inhale, exhale, level with the angels
Rolling with my head high, further from the pavement
On another level, on another level
On, on, on another level
We level, top down with my crew coasting
We level, burn round while the sun beaming
We level, top down with my crew coasting
We level, level with these palm trees
Level with the palm trees
You called today
Said you feel the same
Girl I know your pain
Cause when you call my name
Girl I miss the way
You would scream my name
And the touch of your skin
Girl I'm in love again
(Chorus)
You make me feel alive
My heart is open wide
I'd rather live than die
You make me feel alive
(Solo)
You called today
Said you feel the same
Girl I know your pain
Cause when you call my name
(Chorus)
You make me feel alive
My heart is open wide
I'd rather live than die
You make me feel alive
I lock myself into my room
Cause I'm better off here alone
Thinking in circles about what to do
And I forget about the world
Cause it ain't worth changing regretting
the promises that I've been breaking
Its becoming a place through space and time
Like a permanent part of me
You think you're suffering
You're too good for me then oh I'm sorry
Maybe I'm a little bit much for you
Way past disaster proof and oh I'm sorry too
And I know that It's almost over
I can feel it in the air
You and I we're through
Sometimes I tend to drift away
And I guess i'm missing all the small things
You meant for me to hear you say and you
Better make it quick
Or you might get sick as I'm sealing your fate
with a kiss as I burn that bridge to the point of no
return
It's becoming a race to place the blame
So forget an apology
You think you're suffering
You're too good for me then oh I'm sorry
Maybe I'm a little bit much for you
Way past disaster proof and oh I'm sorry too
And I know that It's almost over
I can feel it in the air
You and I we're through
You and I can talk for hours
About all the things we wished we'd done
And everything will soon devour
Slowly fading into one
You and I can talk for hours
You think you're suffering
You're too good for me then oh I'm sorry
Maybe I'm a little bit much for you
Way past disaster proof and oh I'm sorry too
And I know that It's almost over
I can feel it in the air
You and I we're through
The sky is grey, doming my head.
A beauty here to see and mourn.
"Son," you say, "soon you will see
the pressure in your heart to lie."
I know this empty feeling.
I don't know what full is.
I know that I am weakening.
I don't know what strength is.
And if you have the answers for me,
would you treat me fair?
I know what you are stealing.
I don't know what free is.
The blood I drain, scolding my skin.
Your cry I feel again once more.
Now I say, "I know you see the pressure in my heart to die."
If I'm unable to be whole inside, then fall unstable.
Tell me your lies.
Restore me to holy.
Come on, live life.
You're selling me cheap.
I pale in your shadow.
My shame's complete.
I keep giving.
What you wouldn't notice with your open mind is that your wrists are bleeding and your tongue is tight.
Do you remember we were all the only infants,
and we would stand them back to back against the elements?
But you grew strong and left us there to join the big game, where you learned lies that made the hurts of old seem so tame.
Back in those days we had respect for all the innocence and we never dreamed of drowning in all the selfish decadence.
But you had a change of heart that robbed you of your compassion and left you choices that controlled your every action.
Come on, I will see you through these hard times.
I will watch you be strong, grow strong.
Rest your head against my head and don't cry.
I stand guard against the end.
There's no end.
Life's a circle.
We will rise up through the wind inside us.
We will offer something new to someone we've made.
Do you really want to hear the truth?
Do you really want me under your skin if everyone laughed instead?
I can hear you brother, but I'm too cold to suffer.
I sit in the sun and stare.
Open wounds bleed so bright.
If everyone laughed instead, what would you really want?
Yes, I know that my time is wasting.
But each day I'm still holding on.
And you said your all alone now.
We're three strong, so weather the storm.
If you think the world comes down tomorrow, well I can't just hold it in.
If you think the sky and water's merging, then suck it in.
I've been strong out in the freezing and shelter the young against the wrong.
Still you see no one you can lean on.
We're all here and here you belong.
If you think the world comes down tomorrow, well I can't just hold it in.
If you think the sky and water's merging, then suck it in.
But I can't decide the morning's making, and I won't quit until I know I've won.
If you want to cross the line you know where it is this time.
If you want to do this right, don't shut your eyes this time .
See what it is you did and decide.
You feel both sorry and glad.
You feel the same way regardless.
Despite you time passes the time limit.
So stand still.
Don't say one word.
Even so you managed to decide.
You feel both sorry and glad.
You feel the same way.
If you want to cross the line you know where it is this time.
If you want to cross the line, don't shut your eyes this time.
See what it is you did and decide.
You feel both sorry and glad.
You feel the same way.
Decide.
You feel both sorry and glad.
You feel the same way.
Blue skies, a brighter day.
A silver lining on the clouds that follow me.
An easy smile.
A glint in my eye.
A simple answer to a simple question -
Why?
When I'm looking around, a satisfaction for the thing I've found.
Follow me, follow my lead.
And never look down.
And never look back again.
You won't let me out, but you know I'm so afraid of the down time.
Wasted time, calling out the silence in me and face the wrath of the time line.
If this life is like a movie,
then you're right,
I know everything.
So hold out for the end title.
But I won't wait.
I won't wait for you.
You want me to believe in nothing.
You're hearing me out again.
Again I say it's time to move on.
Save yourself the hurt and shame of saying goodbye and hearing no reply.
I do what you say; you ask of me.
But no one has to see us.
You want me to believe in nothing.
Watch what you say to me
don't let her speak condescendingly yes I know she played
she wasn't worthy of your suffering
you've got to pay
you've still got to pay
suddenly you understand
I wasn't crying for no reason yes I know she played you
she wasn't worthy of your suffering
you've got to pay
you've still got to pay
focus on who you are
don't let her ruin why you've come so far yes I know she
played you
she wasn't worthy of your suffering
you've got to pay
You called today
Said you feel the same
Girl I know your pain
Cause when you call my name
Girl I miss the way
You would scream my name
And the touch of your skin
Girl I'm in love again
(Chorus)
You make me feel alive
My heart is open wide
I'd rather live than die
You make me feel alive
(Solo)
You called today
Said you feel the same
Girl I know your pain
Cause when you call my name
(Chorus)
You make me feel alive
My heart is open wide
I'd rather live than die
