Linda Cohn (born November 10, 1959) is an American sportscaster. She regularly anchors ESPN's SportsCenter.
As a teenager, Cohn, a New Yorker, demonstrated talent at ice hockey, making her high school's boys team. She is also an avid New York Giants, New York Mets, New York Knicks and New York Rangers fan.
After graduating from Newfield High School, based in Selden on Long Island, Cohn attended SUNY at Oswego, graduating with a bachelors degree in arts and communications in 1981. She was also the goalie for the women's ice hockey team at Oswego and was inducted to the Oswego State athletics hall of fame in 2006.
In 1981, Cohn debuted as a sports anchor for the Patchogue, New York-based radio station WALK-AM (also WALK-FM). After leaving that station in 1984, she worked as a sports anchor for four other New York area radio stations until 1987. The most notable stop was a brief stint as an update person at WFAN, New York.
In 1987, Cohn made sportscasting history by becoming the first full-time U.S. female sports anchor on a national radio network when she was hired by ABC. She anchored WABC TalkRadio from 1987–89. In 1988, Cohn got her first television break, after being hired by what was at the time one of ESPN's top competitors, SportsChannel America. In 1989, she hosted a call-in radio sports show back home in New York.
Frank Caliendo (born January 19, 1974) is an American comedian and impressionist, best known for his work on the Fox Network television series MADtv, and as the in-house prognosticator for Fox NFL Sunday. In 2007 and 2008, he performed his impersonations on his own show, Frank TV, which aired on TBS. He is known for his impressions of Charles Barkley, NFL color commentator John Madden, sportscaster Jim Rome, comedian Robin Williams, actor William Shatner, and United States Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, and for his frequent appearances on The Bob & Tom Show. He has released six solo CDs, and has performed as many as 120 impressions. From 2009 to 2011 he had a show at the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. He now tours.
Caliendo was born in Chicago, Illinois, and was raised in Waukesha, Wisconsin, where he attended Waukesha South High School. He is of Italian ancestry. Before graduating from University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, Caliendo began performing stand-up comedy at many different local night clubs and comedy clubs, eventually taking a job as a master of ceremonies at a local comedy club. Frank quickly became known for his spot on impressions of Colombo, the Seinfeld crew, Jonathan Winters, and many more which he mastered while bedridden after a painful back surgery. Within just a few short years, he was very active on the college circuit, putting thousands of miles on a beater of a car. During these years, he built a reputation as one of the circuit's top performers. Between 2000-2001, Caliendo made his television debut on sketch comedy series Hypeand later gaining significant national exposure on the comedy series MADtv.
Jade McCarthy an American sportscaster who is a former host of NESN Daily on NESN.
Prior to joining NESN, McCarthy was a sports anchor at WCAU in Philadelphia where she won numerous Sports Emmy Awards. She started her career at WGGB-TV in Springfield, Massachusetts. She then moved to WAFF, the NBC affiliate in Huntsville, Alabama. She was born in Newton, Massachusetts. McCarthy joined NESN in early 2010 and was a part-time host and reporter for SportsDesk. After SportsDesk was canceled McCarthy became the host of the network's new show NESN Daily.
Growing up, McCarthy rode horses competitively for 10 years. McCarthy left NESN in August 2011 after her husband got a job in Philadelphia. She is reportedly expecting a child.
Lindsay Ann Czarniak (born November 7, 1977), is an American sports anchor and reporter. After spending 6 years with WRC-TV (usually dubbed NBC4), the local NBC television affiliate in Washington, D.C., Czarniak joined ESPN as a SportsCenter anchor in August 2011.
She has also been a pit reporter for TNT's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series coverage and a former co-host and reporter for the syndicated The George Michael Sports Machine. Czarniak served as a host and sportsdesk reporter for NBC Sports coverage of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China.
Lindsay Czarniak was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on November 7, 1977, and moved to Northern Virginia with her family when she was five. Her father, Chet Czarniak, spent 17 years working in a local newspaper's sports department. Growing up a sports fan, she played lacrosse and field hockey at Centreville High School. In 2000, she graduated from James Madison University with a major in online journalism.
Czarniak started out as an intern for WUSA in Washington, D.C. while still a college student. Her broadcasting career began as a CNN production assistant. Her first on-air role as a news reporter occurred while working for WAWS in Jacksonville, Florida. She also worked for WTEV-TV (also in Jacksonville), WTVJ in Miami, Florida, and the Speed Channel.
Wendi Nix (born September 17, 1974) is an American anchor and sports reporter for ESPN.
Wendi primarily handles coverage for NFL and College Football games featuring teams from the New England area. Prior to working for ESPN, Nix was a weekend sports anchor at WHDH in Boston (2003–2006) and previously reported for Fox Sports Net, NESN and WPDE in South Carolina. Nix remains an occasional guest analyst on the weekend show "Sports Xtra" on WHDH.
Wendi Nix was born in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. She is a 1992 graduate of Socastee High School in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She has received degrees from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Wendi was married to Boston Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington and the couple resided in the Boston area. A 2010 interview with the Myrtle Beach Tribune indicates they are no longer married.
