Dusty may refer to:
Mary Isobel Catherine Bernadette O'BrienOBE (16 April 1939 – 2 March 1999), known professionally as Dusty Springfield and dubbed The White Queen of Soul, was a British pop singer whose career extended from the late 1950s to the 1990s. With her distinctive sensual sound, she was an important white soul singer, and at her peak was one of the most successful British female performers, with 18 singles in the Billboard Hot 100 from 1964 to 1970. She is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the U.K. Music Hall of Fame. International polls have named Springfield among the best female rock artists of all time.
Born in West London to an Irish Catholic family that enjoyed music, Springfield learned to sing at home. She joined her first professional group, The Lana Sisters, in 1958, then formed the pop-folk vocal trio The Springfields in 1960 with her brother Dion.
Her solo career began in 1963 with the upbeat pop hit, "I Only Want to Be with You" (1963). Among the hits that followed were "Wishin' and Hopin'" (1964), "I Just Don't Know What to Do with Myself" (1964), "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me" (1966), and "Son of a Preacher Man" (1968). A fan of American pop music, she was the first public figure to bring little-known soul singers to a wider British audience, when she created and hosted the first British performances of the top-selling Motown artists in 1965. By 1966, she was the best-selling female singer in the world, and topped a number of popularity polls, including Melody Maker's Best International Vocalist. She was the first British singer to top the New Musical Express readers' poll for Female Singer. Her image, supported by a peroxide blonde beehive hairstyle, evening gowns, and heavy make-up, made her an icon of the Swinging Sixties.
Esau Mwamwaya is a singer from Lilongwe, Malawi. He is best known for his collaboration, The Very Best with London based DJ/production duo Radioclit. His music has been described as an Afro-Western mix of dance, hiphop, pop and the traditional music of Malawi.
Esau Mwamwaya was born in Mzuzu, Malawi, but grew up in the capital, Lilongwe, where he played drums in various bands. He played with numerous artists including Masaka Band and Evison Matafale.
In 1999 he moved to London and while running a second-hand furniture shop in Clapton, East London, Esau sold a bicycle to the producer from the band Radioclit, Etienne Tron. Radioclit's studio was on the same street as Esau's shop, and eventually, Esau became friends with both Tron and Johan Karlberg aka Radioclit.
In 2008, the three men worked together to create a project known as 'The Very Best', releasing a critically lauded free mixtape through the label GREEN OWL() in collaboration with other indie artists, including M.I.A., Vampire Weekend, Architecture in Helsinki, BLK JKS, Santigold and the Ruby Suns. The songs are sung in Chichewa, the national language of Malawi.
He was so far behind, he thought he was in first.
Plot
Three vignettes about life on Portland's infamous avenue. Dusty, a burnt out military reject, can't find a job and, to make matters worse, his girlfriend is pregnant. His luck seems to change when he meets up with an old childhood friend who promises to change all of that, but it very well may cost him his morality. Jack, a troubleshooter and code programmer at a high-tech software firm, is experiencing a reawakening about his job, his girlfriend, and his life. On the outside, his downward social spiral seems to be liberating him from the monotony of the cubicle. However, on the inside, something else is terribly wrong, and it's only a matter of time until it all comes spilling out. Asha, a young high school student, dreams of escaping her restrained family and social life and longs for understanding. Her thoughts manifest themselves in intricate rhyme patterns inspired by her main influence in life, Hiphop music. Her introspective rhymes begin to find a voice through her experiences with the few who support her and those who are out to take advantage.

I think it's turning back around
And I think I like it
I think it's turning back around
Though I don't know why it is
I think it's turning back on me
I'm down on the upside
I think it's turning back on me
Now, I'm on the good ride
And nothing's gonna put me out
It's backing down and under
I'm down on the upside, now
It's turning back around
Turning back around
I think it's coming on the wind
Just like you said it
I think it's coming on the wind
And I'm gonna let it
I think it's turning back on me
Everything's easy
I think it's turning back on me
Everything's real to me
Nothing's gonna put me out
It's backing down and under
I'm down on the upside, now
It's turning back around
Turning back around
Turning back around
I think it's coming on the wind
Just like you said it
I think it's coming on the wind
And I'm gonna let it
Nothing's gonna put me out, yeah
It's backing down and under
I'm down on the upside, now
It's turning back around
Turning back around
Turning back around
I'm turning back around
Turning back around
Turning back around
Turning back around
Nico, two headed Cuban giant
He's looking with all of his eyes
At the colours that fall through the chestnut tree night
Cos tomorrow in London they rise
And don't you know that I'm dusty, too
Don't you know that I'm dusty through and through.
The candy floss lady is looking at me
Though she never has seen me before
She knows that I'm selling, let her buy all she has
And then maybe come back for some more
And don't you know that I'm dusty, too
Don't you know that I'm dusty through and through.
Roundabouts roundabout all closing down
And the men of the goldfish are gone
The cars and the arms are all tired now
And the lights on the grass are down
And don't you know that I'm dusty, too
Don't you know that I'm dusty through and through.
Nico, two headed Cuban giant
He's looking with all of his eyes
At the colours that fall through the chestnut tree night
Because tomorrow in London they rise
And don't you know that I'm dusty, too
Dusty and you are, dirty from chain
Lips of your kisses are sticking like tape
Woke you at sunrise, cold as a grave
I'll cut you some flowers, now don't be afraid
Now don't be afraid
I'm looking for something, just sink in my teeth without any crying
But I can't find no place or nothing, where thrills are cheap and love is divine
Home by the river, tall grass and fields, pond of willow oak, well for to kneel
Dusty O Dusty, decision night, don't be so pretty, all laced up in white, all laced up in white
[O-Dash:]
They say Hip Hop's dead, well I can resuscitate
We getting bread homeboy, you better get a plate
Then we so controversial, starting to sound commercial
Thought talking money's universal
[Rapper Big Pooh:]
They say I'm young, black and angry, niggas can't tame me
Never had a habit doing shit that ashamed me
Say I gotta change be, careful what you ask for
You don't want it with a nigga when he come through that door
[O-Dash:]
Pooh come with it, shit I'm coming with the fo'-fo'
All glow like a fiend, eyes at the corner sto'
Looking for snow in the middle of August
Diamond in the rough boy, spitting that flawless
Never been a coach, still running with ballers
[Rapper Big Pooh:]
You know I'm a bar spit, PSA what you call us
Beat kinda grainy, Rapper Pooh spit heartless
Land of the dead where these niggas run lawless, uh
[Chorus:]
You know we tell it like it is right?
Talk shit till these pussy niggas wanna fight
Sleep days, making moves under moonlight
[Notorious B.I.G.:] "Niggas mad because I know that cash rules"
Yeah, you know we tell it like it is right?
Talk shit till these pussy niggas wanna fight
Sleep days, making moves under moonlight
HOJ is the crew right?
[O-Dash:]
This ain't just hype, two niggas with mics
Gun talk, off safety, we ain't too pussy to fight
[Rapper Big Pooh:]
Aiyyo you muh'fuckin right, I don't claim to be
Cause I am who I am, pretty soon you gon' see
[O-Dash:]
Guess it is what it is then, we can shoot the five
Been deprived so long, just lucky to be alive
Won't be survived by our wife and sons
[Rapper Big Pooh:]
They know I won't be removed from the space till I'm done
The undisputed one, pound for pound, second round
They say third time's a charm, I'm liking how it sound
[O-Dash:]
Haters wipe me down from my fitted to my shoes
Been paying my dues, brud' check the interviews
[Rapper Big Pooh:]
Cause I'm on, niggas I keep being on the cusp
Been blazing trails, been leaving dust
[O-Dash:]
Now we on the road to riches and finer things
Across the mesa, the daylight shines in your eyes and it makes you blind
And in your head the sirens wail, they just let you out of jail
You're just dusty now, there's flies on you
Your guns are rusty and your soul is too
The Texas is wearing off of your old leather boots
You're just dusty now, there's flies on you
There's tobacco inside your cuffs
And you drink too much but it's never enough
People stare at you as you stand and cough
Might be the weather, might be the dust
You're just dusty now...
Rain rain rain in a western sky
