On the Night is the second live album by Dire Straits. It was released in 1993, between Alchemy (1984) and Live at the BBC (1995, but recorded much earlier). It features many of their later hits, including the successful singles "Walk of Life" and "Money for Nothing". "On the Night" is a collection of recordings from two different concerts during the On Every Street tour.
The musical virtuosity of all players can clearly be heard, and the album makes good use of Paul Franklin's pedal steel guitar skills, and Chris White's saxophone solos. These two musicians had previously appeared on the album On Every Street; On the Night highlights their talents more prominently.
The video version of On the Night included three additional tracks: "The Bug", "Solid Rock" and "Wild Theme" (from the Local Hero soundtrack). "The Bug" was placed between "Romeo and Juliet" and "Private Investigations", while the other two tracks were at the end. The three omitted tracks were released separately on the Encores EP.

Adam Richard Wiles (born 17 January 1984), better known by his stage name Calvin Harris, is a Scottish DJ, singer, songwriter, and record producer. His gold-selling debut album, I Created Disco, was released in 2007 and contained the top ten singles "Acceptable in the 80s" and "The Girls". His second studio album, Ready for the Weekend (2009), reached number one in the UK Album Chart and includes the chart-topper "I'm Not Alone", the UK top five hit "Ready for the Weekend", and the singles "Flashback" and "You Used to Hold Me".
A remix album titled L.E.D. Festival was released in July 2010 as a free album in the August issue of Mixmag. Harris is currently working on his third studio album—due for release in 2012—which has produced the singles "Awooga", "Bounce", "Feel So Close", and "Let's Go". He has written and produced records for other recording artists including Kylie Minogue, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Dizzee Rascal, Rihanna (on the international chart topper "We Found Love"), and Kesha.
Hayley Nichole Williams (born December 27, 1988) is an American singer and songwriter. She is the lead vocalist of the American rock band Paramore.
In 2002, at the age of 13, Williams moved from her hometown, Meridian, Mississippi, to Franklin, Tennessee. She met band members Josh and Zac Farro in her new school. While still in school, she tried out for a local funk cover band The Factory, in which she met Jeremy Davis.
Williams was discovered in 2003 by managers Dave Steunebrink and Richard Williams who signed the 14-year-old to a production deal. At the time she was writing pop songs with songwriters in Nashville. Williams was introduced to Atlantic Records A&R Tom Storms through Richard Williams' attorneys Jim Zumwalt and Kent Marcus, and then signed to the label by Jason Flom. The label's original plan for their new artist was to make her a solo pop artist but Williams objected to this, saying that she wanted to be part of a band and play alternative rock music.
Atlantic decided to go along with her wishes, and she then formed Paramore with Josh Farro, Zac Farro, and Jeremy Davis. The music of Paramore was originally supposed to come out on Atlantic Records, but the label's marketing department decided it would be better for the image of the band to not have them attached to a huge label. They instead released their music through a "cooler" niche label, Fueled by Ramen. The debut album was released in 2005 when Hayley was only 16 years old.

On the night,
Through the fire and the light.
I hold my sword up,
Lightning, it strikes out.
Reach for the light,
Fight for my life.
A mystery 'till we meet,
The fountain of the king.
To the altar of the king.
To the altar of the king.
To the altar of the king.
Evenings burning skies,
Reflects upon my eyes.
Out in the distance,
Utopia, resistance.
The power and the glory,
Through wild woods calling.
Evil is flowing,
Its own justice, to the fight.
At the altar of the king.
To the altar of the king.
The altar of the king.
Ohhh, ohhh.
faster and faster
To the altar of the king.
To the altar of the king.
To the altar of the king.
To the altar of the king.
I'm so near her,
Sight's so clearer.
Riding faster, riding faster.
On the night
That we met
You said that you wanted
Something more from me
And it was all that I could do
I remember your face
Like a child
The way that you blushed and
The way that you smiled
And now it's all that I can do
And I wake up feeling new
You're so much more than I ever knew
So I think
Of all the years spent alone
It's like you're searching for something
To make you feel whole
Like a half of something else
Like you're half of something else
Just a fraction of yourself
Don't take it so hard
We did what we could
There were no easy answers
To be understood

And it was all that we could do
We're the only ones who knew
Now all I think about is you
The way that you scratch
The way that you cry
The way that you wipe your eyes that fall against my
side
The way that you told
Told me I was wrong
And the way that you'd sing
When you'd hear a song
And the way that you answered
When you knew I was gone
And now I know that I'm blind
And it's you all I see
And I know it's not clever
I just want you with me
I'm only half of something else
I'm only half of something else
