Cross: You've been shot at before.::Boone: Not sitting on a load of dynamite.::Cross: How about tied to a post?
Boone: One time in Denver, I ate in this restaurant. It had a big sign on the wall: "Watch your hat and coat". While I was watching them someone stole my steak...
Germany: Cross and Boone? Sounds like a dog-act...
Indio: I have something very important to tell you. I have just learned that the federales have put a price on my head. Ten pesos! Yes, that's right! Ten stinking pesos! I don't know about you, but this makes me very angry. There is a bandit from Durango who has not robbed and killed near as many innocent people as I have... and the price on his head is 10,000 pesos!
Boone: If the Confederacy hadn't run out of medals, I bet we would have got one then.::Cross: If they made a hero out of you, you wouldn't be worth a damn, Boone.::Boone: Yeah, I guess so... I guess so. I seen it happen to a lot of soldiers.
Germany: We're not afraid of a good fight.::Cross: There's no such thing as a good fight if you could wind up dead.
Jones: Do you know why it is that a man can always beat a dog at poker.::Young Fargo Man: No, sir.::Jones: A dog gets a good hand, he always wags his tail.
Boone: A lot of thanks I get, working to keeping you alive.::Cross: Having you work for me is like losing two good men.
Lieutenant: What does it mean?::Cross: Apache.::Boone: Is that all?::Cross: That's enough! Let's get out of here!
Cross: He said that firing squad couldn't hit a bull in the ass with a banjo!
Germany (i/ˈdʒɜrməni/), officially the Federal Republic of Germany (German: Bundesrepublik Deutschland, pronounced [ˈbʊndəsʁepuˌbliːk ˈdɔʏtʃlant] ( listen)), is a federal parliamentary republic in Europe. The country consists of 16 states while the capital and largest city is Berlin. Germany covers an area of 357,021 km2 and has a largely temperate seasonal climate. With 81.8 million inhabitants, it is the most populous member state and the largest economy in the European Union. It is one of the major political powers of the European continent and a technological leader in many fields.
A region named Germania, inhabited by several Germanic peoples, was documented before AD 100. During the Migration Period, the Germanic tribes expanded southward, and established successor kingdoms throughout much of Europe. Beginning in the 10th century, German territories formed a central part of the Holy Roman Empire. During the 16th century, northern German regions became the centre of the Protestant Reformation while southern and western parts remained dominated by Roman Catholic denominations, with the two factions clashing in the Thirty Years' War, marking the beginning of the Catholic–Protestant divide that has characterized German society ever since. Occupied during the Napoleonic Wars, the rise of Pan-Germanism inside the German Confederation resulted in the unification of most of the German states into the German Empire in 1871 which was Prussian dominated. After the German Revolution of 1918–1919 and the subsequent military surrender in World War I, the Empire was replaced by the Weimar Republic in 1918, and partitioned in the Treaty of Versailles. Amidst the Great Depression, the Third Reich was proclaimed in 1933. The latter period was marked by Fascism and World War II. After 1945, Germany was divided by allied occupation, and evolved into two states, East Germany and West Germany. In 1990 Germany was reunified.
Some days are just a copy
Of a day you had before
You flash yourself thinking
You can't take it anymore
Never feels more alone
When you're in a crowded room
And bang your head to a wall
You feel nothing at all
Just want to feel the same
Some things will never change
Always knew you'd be a star
Now I know that's what you are
And we cry
To a new beginning
We deny
A new beginning
So let me introduce to you
This favourite play of mine
A comedy called Germany
You may not understand
The funny thing it's about someone
Who's never been alone
Just trying to be a friend
Well I thought...
That I meant something to you
But now I see that it's untrue
I guess you must have slept
With every guy you ever met
But I'm gonna get you back
If its the last thing I ever do
The stains on your mattress cannot hide
The fruits of your labor stuffed inside
But, while your in la-la land
Whispering the name of another man
I'm gonna turn my back
And leave your cheating ass behind
I'm gonna run away with your money
And buy a ticket to Germany
I'm gonna sleep with every single slut on the River Bohn
And I'll be surfing down the River Rhine (Whoo--oo--ooo)
And you'll be standing in the Welfare line
You're money and you're honey
Are long gone!
It's nothing personal
You saw to that
You're just a person
Who does her best work on her back
But if you're 'wakend
By an obscene call
I sprayed your number on the Berlin wall
I've seen the soldiers as they pass it all around
Imagine all the dick that you once missed
Because you couldn't find the Communists
East or West
Your still the best deal in town
I'm gonna run away with your money
And buy a ticket to Germany
I'm gonna sleep with every single slut on the River Bohn
And I'll be surfing down the River Rhine (Whoo--oo--ooo)
And you'll be standing in the Welfare line
You're money and you're honey
Are long gone!
You're money and you're honey
Are long gone!
You're money and you're honey
There was a wall constructed inside of my ripping through
my heart
And brick by brick I'll slave to tear it all down
Say goodbye to loneliness the past is finally dead
There is no allegiance the past is finally dead
I felt so trapped a stranger frozen to these streets
With broken bones wounds I swore would never heal
I always hoped for something true but
My emotions were always conflicted, so conflicted
Next stop the Berlin Bridge
I once gave my heart for black hair pale skin and broken
English
My life was always so confined
Like being chained against the flow of the gutter
I had no worth only a hunger for excess to fill the gaps
There was no depth to this abyss
So conflicted
From this day forward
I'll wear my heart on my sleeve
It's ten below outside but it's pale in comparison
To how frozen my judgment used to be
There is no regrets the past is finally dead
The past is finally dead
I have no regrets
Torn by East and West, divided by the wall,
ohoh Germany, Germany
(They) wanted our best, that's not the view of all,
ohoh Germany, Germany
Young people here, teenagers there,
May we can find a new way?
Music we love is not allowed
On the other side of the wall
Germany, Germany, living side by side,
East and West through the wall
Germany, Germany, imagine this new life,
Harmony between us all
Let's make up our minds, come closer day by day,
it's our Germany, Germany
The music will set signs, and help to find a way,
for our Germany, Germany
Young people here, teenagers there,
May we can find a new way?
Music will join our hearts and souls
even the wall will ever stay
Back in WWII the bombs kept dropping,
This old city was smashed to the ground.
And the orders were given to destroy everything,
Even to bring that beautiful cathedral down.
But the best bomber pilots, well,
They all tried it and their aim was never true.
As if the work of God or divine protection,
Or that they just could not do what they were ordered to do.
Today it still stands like a giant tombstone,
A monument to a time long gone.
To the old lady beggars with their faces to the ground,
It's tall arch doorways are right where they belong.
You know Hitler he would have been pissed I guess,
But I'm glad that the good guys missed.
No matter what you believe or how you feel about churches,
Let me tell you, you really wanna see this.
You'll be thankful those bombs didn't hit.
We went south down the river to where the Rhine and the Basel meet.
Stood on that small triangular ground
Where this country was founded on our own two feet.
On the way we learned castles are smaller
In real life then they are in the fairy tales.
But that realization didn't stop our fascination
As we explored the secret tunnels behind the safety rails.
As we hopped over those safety rails...
We headed East and we crossed the border,
The border that was no longer there.
And although the fences and walls are long gone,
The weight of their ghosts hung heavy in the air.
The buildings all had different looks on their faces,
They were standing strong and stout.
Going 80 on the Audabon will really take you places,
If you wanna learn history get out of your house.
And all of the statues of Dresden looked mean and cold and angry.
They've all got black faces that say, "You can never kill me!"
And our bus drove by Slaughterhouse 5 on the way to our campground.
We ended up sleeping in a farmer's field cause two years ago the place was shut down.
We went to the forest and we camped a few nights and then we said goodbye
To all the bakeries and the nice young bees that would always give us rides.
standing in the middle of a crisis
you see me
i can't see you
it's so dark
if we save ourselves
we allow the others to fall
still so dark
and would you die for them
unsatisfied believer
you believe in what you hate
you can't see
we're supposed to trust each other
survival is so one-sided
i saw the example of someone
who gave their life to save my life
when i thought i had it all figured out
in this world
i'm no different
