Maoism, also known as Mao Zedong Thought (simplified Chinese: 毛泽东思想; traditional Chinese: 毛澤東思想; pinyin: Máozédōng sīxiǎng), is a political theory derived from the teachings of the Chinese political leader Mao Zedong (1893–1976). Its followers, known as Maoists, consider it as an anti-Revisionist form of Marxism. Developed during the 1950s and 1960s, it was widely applied as the political and military guiding ideology of the Communist Party of China (CPC). It fell into disfavour in China in 1978, when Deng Xiaoping introduced sweeping reforms.
Maoism is also used to refer to Mao's belief in the mobilization of the masses, particularly in large-scale political movements; it can also refer to the egalitarianism that was seen during Mao's era as opposed to the free-market ideology of Deng Xiaoping; some scholars additionally define personality cults and political sloganeering as "Maoist" practices. Contemporary Maoists in China criticize the social inequalities created by a capitalist and "revisionist" Communist party.

Saloth Sar (19 May 1925 – 15 April 1998), better known as Pol Pot (Khmer: ប៉ុល ពត), was a Cambodian Maoist revolutionary who led the Khmer Rouge from 1963 until his death in 1998. From 1963 to 1981, he served as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Kampuchea. From 1976 to 1979, he also served as the prime minister of Democratic Kampuchea. Pol Pot became leader of Cambodia on April 17, 1975. During his time in power he imposed agrarian socialism, forcing urban dwellers to relocate to the countryside to work in collective farms and forced labor projects. The combined effects of forced labor, malnutrition, poor medical care, and executions resulted in the deaths of approximately 21% of the Cambodian population. In all, an estimated 1.7 to 2.5 million people (out of a population of slightly over 8 million) died as a result of the policies of his three-year premiership.
In 1979, after the Vietnamese invasion of Cambodia, Pol Pot fled to the jungles of southwest Cambodia, and the Khmer Rouge government collapsed. From 1979 to 1997, he and a remnant of the old Khmer Rouge operated near the border of Cambodia and Thailand, where they clung to power, with nominal United Nations recognition as the rightful government of Cambodia. Pol Pot died in 1998 while under house arrest by the Ta Mok faction of the Khmer Rouge. Since his death, rumours that he was poisoned have persisted.

Several things motivated him: Writer Varavara Rao, who founded the Revolutionary Writers Association, India’s political atmosphere and the progressive environment in which he grew up. When he joined the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist), his father left the Indian National Congress saying, two kinds of politics cannot survive under one roof. His father believed in socialism, but not in armed struggle.

Rao was born in Sangamjagrlamudi, a small village located near Tenali,Andhrapradesh. He pursued a degree in civil engineering from a college in Guindy, Madras in 1947, graduating in 1951.
He applied for post of junior lecturer at Andhra University in 1955 and later engaged in post graduate studies and pursued his masters at the University of Iowa in 1960. Three years later he completed a PhD.

Every time I look at You, You're smiling at me
Every time I walk to You, You're running to me
Every time I lift my hands, You're reaching for me
Even in the eye of the storm I look to You, beloved I'm Yours
All I see is a hurricane
All I feel is an earthquake
When I'm weak, You are stronger now
So I walk on water like it's solid ground
Every time I wander off, You're looking for me
Every time I cry to sleep, You're weeping with me
Every time I get back up, You're dancing with me
Even in the eye of the storm I look to You, beloved I'm Yours
All I see is a hurricane
All I feel is an earthquake
When I'm weak, You are stronger now
So I walk on water like it's solid ground
I walk on water like it's solid ground
No eye has seen, no ear has heard
No mind can understand
All the good that goes to those
Who hold tight to His hand
All I see is a hurricane
All I feel is an earthquake
When I'm weak, You are stronger now
So I walk on water like it's solid ground
All I see is a hurricane
All I feel is an earthquake
When I'm weak, You are stronger now
So I walk on water like it's solid ground
Money never had so steep a price,
Where do we get the right to sell one's life?
Don't you see the pain in her hopeless eyes
One day her dream escaped into the night,
Darkness overtook the pale moonlight
Minutes turned to days and soon to years,
Now she can't remember life before these tears
I wanna look into your eyes on a beautiful night
Freedom ringing on through the quiet sky
Saying you and I, we are not for sale
Just to hold you in my arms and make this right
The moment you've been waiting for all your life
Cause you and I, we are not for sale
Not for sale
We're fighting power and greed for the suffering
We're bringing hope back to the least of these
But where we do stand, where do we start to fight?
I still believe we can be the cure,
We can carry the love for the whole world to hear
We gotta find a way to make it right,
Cause we're fighting here for a human life
I wanna look into your eyes on a beautiful night
Freedom ringing on through the quiet sky
Saying you and I, we are not for sale
Just to hold you in my arms and make this right
The moment you've been waiting for all your life
Cause you and I, we are not for sale
Not for sale
I can feel we are closer now, I believe we can hear the sound
Hope is coming for the broken down, we are not for sale
I wanna look into your eyes on a beautiful night
Freedom ringing on through the quiet skies
You and I, we are not for sale
I wanna look into your eyes on a beautiful night
Freedom ringing on through the quiet sky
Saying you and I, we are not for sale
Just to hold you in my arms and make this right
The moment you've been waiting for all your life
Cause you and I, we are not for sale
I walked home alone today
Quickly I was lost along the way
Till You stepped out in front of me
You took my hands and said come on and follow me
This is love
That You shine on the darkness all around us
It all just disappears
You shine on the walls that crash around us
Whenever You are near
Whoa, whoa
You and me we used to be
Lovers torn and lost along the way
Until heaven came and rescued me
I found grace right in front of me
This is love
That You shine on the darkness all around us
It all just disappears
You shine on the walls that crash around us
Whenever You are near
We'll never be the same
'Cause You never look away
We'll never be the same
'Cause You never look away
That You shine on the darkness all around
Yeah, You shine on the walls that crash around us
Whenever You are near
'Cause You shine on the darkness all around us
It all just disappears
And You shine on the walls that crash around us
Whenever You are near
You never look away
Give me faith to wait on You
Give me peace to be still
You're the only hope I lean on
Give me faith to wait on You
In my darkest hour I see
You will not forget me
When I'm lost and so afraid
Your love still remains
You're my only rescue
In a world full of let down
When it's all falling down in Your love I am found
You're my only rescue
In my strength be stronger still
In my weakness be revealed
When my world's crashes down, in the chaos here I've found...
You're my only rescue
In a world full of let down
When it's all falling down in Your love I am found
You're my only rescue
You are love unfailing, hope unending, You will always be
In your arms I find my strength will rise, forever I believe
When my world crashes down, in the chaos all around
You're my only rescue
In a world full of let down
When it's all falling down in Your love I am found
You're my only rescue
[x2]
Show me who You are, the depth within Your eyes
Find my wandering heart, let grace restore my sight
I want to see You as you are
I want to know Your every word
I want to draw much closer still
I want to know You more than words
More than words
I'm running through the dark, illuminate the night
I'm trusting with my heart, that You will be my light, be my light
I want to see You as you are
I want to know Your every word
I want to draw much closer still
I want to know You more than words
More than words
So I run back to You, back to where I belong
Lost myself in this world, now I know I was wrong
So I bow down to You, throw myself at Your throne
There's so much I want to know
I want to see You as you are
I want to know Your every word
I want to see You as you are
I want to know Your every word
I want to draw much closer still
I want to know You more than words
Monday morning put his feet on the floor,
Put on his clothes and walked out the door
Begins to wonder what he's doing it for,
He's thinking inside there's gotta be more
It's never easy when you're taking a chance,
And you don't know where to begin
But Tuesday morning put your feet on the floor,
Take a deep breath and run through the door
Open up, fall in love, this could be your chance
Go on now, embrace the innocence
Dreams are born, life is changed when you take a risk
Go on now, you were made for this
So just get lost in a moment
Feels like we're running just to get ahead,
But we grow up too fast for moments to last
Nobody knows how many hours they have,
So live every day, don't throw them away
Every second is a beautiful chance for life to be discovered
Open up, fall in love, this could be your chance
Go on now, embrace the innocence
Dreams are born, life is changed when you take a risk
Go on now, you were made for this
So just get lost in a moment
Open up your heart, open up your eyes and take it in for the first time
Don't let go, don't run away, you will never be the same
So just get lost in a moment
Open up, fall in love, this could be your chance
Go on now, embrace the innocence
Dreams are born, life is changed when you take a risk
Go on now, you were made for this
So just get lost in a moment
When darkness hides the rising sun
I will trust in You
When weakness has become my song
I will trust in You, only You
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus, His righteousness
When all around my soul gives way
I will trust in Jesus name
No grave could hold You in it's arms
You have overcome
Nothing could take away this love
I am standing on
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus, His righteousness
When all around my soul gives way
I will trust in Jesus name
[X2]
My hope is built on You (and only You)
My hope is built on You (and only You)
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus, His righteousness
When all around my soul gives way
I will trust in Jesus name
I know that I am not my own
You paid the price that I should owe
Without Your grace, I'm nothing
Even before the world began
You chose to love me as I am
Without Your grace, I'm nothing
I'm found in You
Wherever I go Your love surrounds me
I'm found in You
Every day I feel You holding
On to my heart,
All my fears fade away
I'm found in You
I'm found in You
Speak and my heart is satisfied
Breathe and these bones will come to life
Without Your grace, I'm nothing
And when I run away so far
You call me back to where You are
Without Your grace I'm nothing
I'm found in You
Wherever I go Your love surrounds me
I'm found in You
Every day I feel You holding
On to my heart,
All my fears fade away
I'm found in You
I'm found in You
I once was lost but You reached out
I once was lost but now
I'm found in You
Wherever I go Your love surrounds me
I'm found in You
Every day I feel You holding
On to my heart,
All my fears fade away
I'm found in You
I'm found in You
What can compare to You oh God
To Your loving ways, it's blowing my mind
With every beat of my beating heart
That beats for you, You give me life
Gonna lift, gonna lift, gonna lift my voice
It's rising up, rising up, like a mighty noise
This love inside is running over
Can You hear the joyous sound
Almighty God, we're coming closer
Can You hear us crying out
Whoa oh oh oh
Whoa oh oh oh oh
Because of You, I'm so amazed
I'm taken back by the beauty of a King
With every breath I'm breathing out
I breathe for You, the song I sing
Gonna lift, gonna lift, gonna lift my voice
It's rising up, rising up, like a mighty noise
This love inside is running over
Can You hear the joyous sound
Almighty God, we're coming closer
Can You hear us crying out
Whoa oh oh oh
Whoa oh oh oh oh
We can't contain this song inside
We lift our voice cause You gave us life
The hope we have is building now
And we can't help but sing it out
This love inside is running over
Can You hear the joyous sound
Almighty God, we're coming closer
Can You hear us crying out
Whoa oh oh oh
