Glass is an amorphous (non-crystalline) solid material. Glasses are typically brittle and optically transparent.
The most familiar type of glass, used for centuries in windows and drinking vessels, is soda-lime glass, composed of about 75% silica (SiO2) plus Na2O, CaO, and several minor additives. Often, the term glass is used in a restricted sense to refer to this specific use.
In science, however, the term glass is usually defined in a much wider sense, including every solid that possesses a non-crystalline (i.e., amorphous) structure and that exhibits a glass transition when heated towards the liquid state. In this wider sense, glasses can be made of quite different classes of materials: metallic alloys, ionic melts, aqueous solutions, molecular liquids, and polymers. For many applications (bottles, eyewear) polymer glasses (acrylic glass, polycarbonate, polyethylene terephthalate) are a lighter alternative to traditional silica glasses.
Silica (the chemical compound SiO2) is a common fundamental constituent of glass. In nature, vitrification of quartz occurs when lightning strikes sand, forming hollow, branching rootlike structures called fulgurite.
Philip Glass (born January 31, 1937) is an American composer. One of the highest profile composers writing "classical" music today, he is often said to be one of the most influential composers of the late 20th century. His music is also often controversially described as minimalist, along with the work of the other "major minimalists" La Monte Young, Terry Riley and Steve Reich.
He has lately distanced himself from the "minimalist" label, describing himself instead as a composer of "music with repetitive structures." Though his early mature music shares much with what is normally called "minimalist", he has since evolved stylistically. Currently, he describes himself as a "Classicist", pointing out that he is trained in harmony and counterpoint and studied such composers as Franz Schubert, Johann Sebastian Bach and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with Nadia Boulanger.
Glass is a prolific composer: he has written works for the musical group which he founded, the Philip Glass Ensemble (with which he still performs on keyboards), as well as operas, musical theatre works, ten symphonies, eleven concertos, solo works, chamber music including string quartets and instrumental sonatas, and film scores. Three of his film scores have been nominated for Academy Awards.
LeBron Raymone James (/ləˈbrɒn/; born December 30, 1984) is an American professional basketball player for the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Nicknamed "King James", he was a three-time "Mr. Basketball" of Ohio in high school, and was highly promoted in the national media as a future NBA superstar while a sophomore at St. Vincent – St. Mary High School. He was selected with the number one pick in the 2003 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Listed as a small forward, James has set numerous youngest player records since joining the league. He was named the NBA Rookie of the Year in 2003–04, was named the NBA Most Valuable Player in 2009, 2010, and 2012 and has been both an All-NBA selection and an All-Star every season since 2005. In 2010, a much-publicized free agency process ended with James signing with the Miami Heat.
James led the Cleveland Cavaliers to consecutive playoff appearances from 2006 through 2010. In 2007, the Cavaliers advanced to the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history, but lost to the San Antonio Spurs. In 2011, James and the Miami Heat advanced to the NBA Finals but lost to the Dallas Mavericks. James has been a member of the USA national team, winning a bronze medal at the 2004 Olympics and gold at the 2008 Olympics.

You walk in a tavern and you order yourself a drink
And wonder if she brings the glass
You try to imagine what kind of person had a drink from at last
Was he a rich man who stopped in on his way to make another big business deal
Or maybe just a poor man in old clothes who spent his last hard earned dollar bill
Was he dreamin' of his future or drawnin' his past or maybe just spendin' some time
A meetin' his sweetheart or somebody's wife
Or a barmaid he couldn't get off his mind
How many times did he refill the glass or just how long did he stay
And just how much money did he leave behind before he finally went on his way
Did he drink up the groceries or maybe the rent or even the baby's new pair of shoes
And what kind of music I wonder did he use to play
I'm sure his selection was the blues
This glass has been held in the hands of a hundred or so at one time
And been pressed to the lips of the fairest young girl
Who sat there sippin' on beer whiskey or wine
God just what would happened if this glass could talk and let the secret come true
I guess it's better that he'd never learned it might mean trouble for you
If I had a dime for every time you walked away,
I could afford to not give a shit
and buy a drink and drown the day
But your pockets, they are empty,
yeh, and mine are times two
So why not make an about-face,
and accept the love I send to you?
You're never gonna be content if you font try,
try to see outside your line.
There you go, you did it again!
You act as if there's binder on your eyes.
Should I apologize if what I say burns your ears and stains
your eyes?!
Oh, did I crack your shell?
When it falls away, you'll see we exist as well!
Like a bottle with the cork stuck,
your true ingredients trapped inside.
Through the cloudy glass we catch a glimpse of you,
I guess the hard shell represents your pride.
Oh, if only it could be different
we could uncover the you, you deny.
Between two, a small discrepancy,
one complicates and one simplifies.
TAKE THOSE FUCKING BLINDERS OFF YOUR EYES!!
So if I had a dime for every time you walked away,
you could bet your bottom dollar that
is this witchy? my thoughts are cloudy this is weird: my mind is clear
in this hyper-chlorinated pool of humanity you're very clean
i give up
is this hunger? i can't remember this is strange: we're just the same
in this insatiable, unstable subspecies you're very sweet
i give up
flies woke up, confused sprung to life and spring all here and everything
sleeping on the kitchen couch sun everywhere you're very clear
i give up
And for you, for you I'd weep
For you I'd fall down to my knees
For you I'd die, I'd die a thousand times
For you I'd take out my two brown eyes
Because darkness is only temporary
The crimson clouds and [?] will last eternally
I set sail onto waters of glass
I found love in the cold romance
Now I, I don't need a thing
You bring me back and I don't need a thing
I fall to pieces when you bring, you bring
And your eyes can [?]
We found each other in this life
We will find each other in death
We will find our souls in the next life
I promise, my goddess
I set sail onto waters of glass
I found love in the cold romance
Now I, I don't need a thing
You bring me back and I don't need a thing
Love, love, love set me free
Love, love, love set me free
It doesn't matter if you fall down
Get the fuck back up
There is a life that's worth living if you care to look inside
Look inside
I set sail onto waters of glass
I found love in the cold romance
Now I, I don't need a thing
You bring me back
Rolled around on kitchen floors.
Tied my tongue in pretty bows with yours.
And now we pass and just like glass
I see through you, you see through me like I'm not there.
You could make my head swerve.
Used to know my every curve.
And now we meet on a street,
And I am blind. I can not find the heart I gave to you.
Sometimes what we think we really want we don't.
Sometimes what we think we want we really don't.
Sometimes what we think we love we don't.
And I am blind. I can not find the heart I gave to you.
And when we meet on a street,
Fool you made the girl fall in love
You said those beautiful things
She thought you spoke things you mean
Caress her skin like it's glass
She hears your voice making plans
And she just breaks in your hands
You don't wanna see somebody beg
As you feel her heart surrender you begin to fall
How do you say that something's through
When it never even started, at least not for you
She's dreaming back on the past
Every opinion agreed
Doesn't know what to believe
It must have been for a cause
Our lives have so many doors
Don't think about him anymore
But it was the kiss, it took me away
It's like he knew that I am fragile
He handled me like glass
And knowing this I know that he'll get his
But I don't want the man to suffer
Not the way I am
'Cause deep down I know that he's glass too
And it really doesn't matter until it's happenin' to you
Hey hey look at me hey hey i'm phillip glass hey look at me over here hey
hey hey einstein hey get off the beach hey einstein hey hey look hey hey
Hearts fail
Young hearts fail
Anytime, pressurised
Overheat, overtired
Take it quick, take it neat
Clasp your hands, touch your feet
Take it quick, take it neat
Take it quick, take it neat
Hearts fail
Young hearts fail
Anytime whereabouts
On the run, underground
Put your hand where it's safe
Lay your hand where it's safe
Do it again, do it again, again, again
Do it again and again and again
Do it again and again and again
Do it again and again and again
Anytime that's your right
Don't ya wish we do it again?
Overheat, overtired
Don't ya wish we do it again?
Don't ya wish we do it again?
Don't ya wish we do it again?
Anytime that's your right
Don't ya wish we do it again?
Anytime that you're right
Don't ya wish we do it again?
Don't ya wish we do it again?
Bet ya wish we do it again?
Do it again
Do it again
Look through the window
Look through the window
Look through the window
I'm looking through a pane of glass
Look through the window and what do you see?
Look through the window and what do you see?
Look through the window and what do you see?
I'm looking through a pane of glass
I'm so restless
I'm so restless
I'm so restless
We talk about this and we talk about that
I'm so restless, I'm bored as a cat
I'm so restless, I'm bored as a cat
I'm so restless, I'm bored as a cat
We talk about this and we talk about that
Light myself
Light myself
Light myself
Nicotine really goes to my head
Light myself up a cigarette
Light myself up a cigarette
Light myself up a cigarette
Nicotine really goes to my head
If you're feeling all in take some asprin
If you feel in a mess put your head on a head rest
Your back on a back rest, foot on a foot rest
Or your arm on an arm rest or your leg on a leg rest
Your back on a back rest, if you feel in a real mess
When you're feeling all in
Take some asprin
Or some paracetamol
Always thought life should be so easy
It seems that I have misunderstood
Nothing I do can seem to please me
What I say don't sound so good
I always thought
I always thought
I always thought
I will rise now
And go about the city
In the street's broadways I seek
Him whom my soul loveth
Went over the sea
What did I find
A thousand crystal towers
A hundred emerald cities
And the hand of the watchman
In the night sky
Points to my beloved
A knight in crystal armour
And I tried to hold him
I tried for the creed
I'll make a suit of colours
To stop the blinding mirrors
Sew a cape of red and gold
Stifled up the beam
With the perfect armour
With a perfect dream
To be made of glass
When two suns are shining
The battle becomes blinding
To be made of glass
But we ride tonight, tonight, tonight, we ride
And with two suns spinning
At two different speeds
Was born a hot, white diamond
Burning through the rainbow
Flames fell into orbit
To hold eternally
Two heavenly spirits
That just wouldn't seem
To be made of glass
When two suns are shining
The battle becomes blinding
To be made of glass
But we ride tonight, tonight, tonight, we ride
How like glass my heart is shattered
Broken pieces on my floor,
Memories of love are tainted
Despair opens wide his door,
Calling me, "Child, I'll embrace you
Like your father never could,
I will hold you fast forever
Like your father never would."
Looking back I see the traces
Of the cold undercurrent
Living lies to hide the cruelty
All the years of fear I spent
Wondering if I was alone
In this sea of agony,
Thinking maybe I was crazy,
Wishing that I wasn't me.
Only now I cross the border
Leaving Wonderland behind,
But the shadow still hangs over
As the twisted lies unwind,
Memories I reinterpret
Reading hate into the smiles,
Reading lies into promises
As his lust my trust defiles.
Here witness my bitter anguish
My heart poured out like red wine
All the tears and fears and anger
Betrayal words can't define
Bruised and lied to, pushed to hatred
Now the hatred melts away
All I'm left with is a dream of
Tryin' to live and love
With a heart that can't be broken
Is like tryin' to see the light
With eyes that can't be opened
Yeah, we both carry baggage
We picked up on our way
So if you love me, do it gently
And I will do the same
We may shine, we may shatter
We may be pickin' up the pieces here on after
We are fragile, we are human
We are shaped by the light we let through us
But we break fast 'cause we are glass
'Cause we are glass
I'll let you look inside me
Through the stains and through the cracks
And in the darkness of this moment
You see the good in that
But try not to judge me
'Cause we've walked down different paths
But it brought us here together
So I won't take that back
We may shine, we may shatter
We may be pickin' up the pieces here on after
We are fragile, we are human
We are shaped by the light we let through us
But we break fast 'cause we are glass
We might be all in water
This could be a big mistake
We might burn like gasoline and fire
It's a chance we'll have to take
We may shine, we may shatter
We may be pickin' up the pieces here on after
We are fragile, we are human
And we are shaped by the light we let through us
But we break fast 'cause we are glass
Sunrays have left me out to burn
I feel the poison sink in
Obsessed I throw my youth away
I'm powerless against you
You're so far away
It's hard to see you
Through this looking glass
I'll run to you
I know it's true that you
Wont ever let me down, again
Ten years with nothing worth to show
Still I refuse to leave you
Slowly I start to shut down
You suck the air within me
You're so far away
It's hard to see you
Through this looking glass
I'll run to you
I know it's true that you
Wont ever let me down, again
And you burn
And you burn
And you burn
You're so far away
It's hard to see you
Through this looking glass
I'll run to you
I know it's true that you
I don't believe it
I won't believe it
I'm not sad
I understand that's how it goes
Take it easy
There's no time to be mad
That's their job
Blood on their teeth
Death on their mind
Pretty baby
Please just get out of the way
Where it's safe
Eyes will follow you
Weapons can't break through
Tears will swallow you
They all can see right through...
Bulletproof glass
Bulletproof glass
Bulletproof - you won't have any trouble now
But who knows
But who knows
Please don't deceive me
I'm just so easily fooled
But there's some things they do not want the answers to
Don't wanna bring all that up
But they keep leaving it out
What to do?
We'll just let it be until they all need...
Bulletproof glass
Bulletproof glass
Bulletproof - you won't have any trouble now
But who knows
But who knows
If you wanna know somebody
Might take a quick look at their best friends:
Diamonds are hers / a dog is his
You can lie to yourself
But don't lie to me
That's what they want:
Dominance and loyalty / romance and security
Just stay behind...
Bulletproof glass
Bulletproof glass
Sand has turned to glassMoments cease to pass
Rolling the hills,
waking the night
Time gives its final gasp
Sift through the wind
Dance on the head of a pin
Drops of eternity
blow through the blinding sea
Weaving the sun,
painting the stars
into infinity
Sift through the wind
Dance on the head of a pin
I'm going to run from the voice of reason till it turns to laughter
Against the masquerade like I don't believe in the morning after.
The chronicles contain a few hidden chapters
We keep our mirrors dirty, in case vanity backfires.
Cold wind curtains turn to pain and eagerness
In one throw you could expose all of my weaknesses.
I'm putty in your hands
Kept my waves burning sand
Until you learn to look through a window that no one else can.

I sold you a lie, that showed through my eyes,
And told you to cry a stained glass suicide.

It's only time before your secrets become weekend headlines.

Your living in a world made of windows and mirrors
Visits safeguards cover crystallized tears
In and out different images same fear
One day it's going to shatter and I'll be right here
I'm living in a world made of windows and mirrors
Visits safeguards cover crystallized tears
In and out different images same fear
One day it's going to shatter, and I'll hold you right here.
See through my anxieties and insecurities
Rip out my insides
put them on display encaged
In rage and break the bottle that I
Become I run I jump I throw completely
Shattered fractured captured
Glad I had the chance to be so helpless
See through my
Four-cornered window pain so plain and simple
Brain is crippled walking through a maze
When did I decide to be an object of reflection?
Crucified for all my imperfections
I answered every question
Peeling the tint off my confession
Please close your eyes
And bring in death
To pride
Let's bring in out glass in
Every single dream
And I don't miss a thing
Broken mirrors don't bring back love
They cherish image
How do I look any given day
You can kill me, if you rebuild me.
You wont, she wont, he won't
I gotta do it all alone again good by
You fled, no one ever said there was any piece came out of my head
I'm dead, everybody lies and plays in time before they're born again
Wipe my slate clean I want to skate upon your pretty reddish skin
