Alexandria (Arabic: الإسكندرية Al Iskandariyya, Coptic: Ⲣⲁⲕⲟⲧⲉ Rakotə, Greek: Αλεξάνδρεια Alexándria, Koine Greek: Ἀλεξάνδρεια ἡ κατ' Αἴγυπτον IPA: [ɑlɛˈksɑndɾiɑ e kɑt ˈɛʝypton] "Alexandria in Egypt", Egyptian Arabic: اسكندريه [eskendeˈrejːæ]) is the second-largest city of Egypt, with a population of 4.1 million, extending about 32 km (20 mi) along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea in the north central part of the country; it is also the largest city lying directly on the Mediterranean coast. It is Egypt's largest seaport, serving approximately 80% of Egypt's imports and exports. Alexandria is also an important tourist resort. It is home to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (the new Library of Alexandria). It is an important industrial centre because of its natural gas and oil pipelines from Suez.
Alexandria was founded around a small pharaonic town c. 331 BC by Alexander the Great. It remained Egypt's capital for nearly a thousand years, until the Muslim conquest of Egypt in AD 641, when a new capital was founded at Fustat (Fustat was later absorbed into Cairo). Alexandria was known because of its Lighthouse of Alexandria (Pharos), one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World; its library (the largest library in the ancient world); and the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages. Ongoing maritime archaeology in the harbor of Alexandria, which began in 1994, is revealing details of Alexandria both before the arrival of Alexander, when a city named Rhacotis existed there, and during the Ptolemaic dynasty.

far across the sea
a piece of history
in Egypt's land
I'll build a city
beautiful and strong
beyond belief
a new metropolis
to redefine my destiny
rise and shine Alexandria
under protection of my name
pure, divine, and imperial
a place to watch the stars
the center of the earth
I see it all... my worlds converging
and to guide a king's armada through the night
I raise the seventh wonder to delight Poseidon
rise and shine Alexandria
under protection of my name
pure, divine, and imperial
make me the city of a living angel
casting shades all over Babylon
hailing me, a holy son of god
as a monument of time
and the goals that I achieved
Strange tension in the harbor tonight
I watch the rich girls down on Duke St. pass me by
That pass me by
Now the nausea's
In my guts
And I'm wrestling with doubt
The kind you get when your heroes
Sell you out
And as I watch the drawbridge come down
There's mass extinction
On my mind
Extinction on my mind
Extinction on my mind
Extinction
On my mind
Human cruelty stains my thoughts jet black
I've got this feeling
Hearing rumors through the grapevine round you
Cause they're rumors doesn't mean they're not true
Even if the headlines got it wrong
Where's there's some there's some fire and some burning remains
Complications, just ignore them for now
Always planned to go down with the ship anyhow
As the sinking vessel falls deep
The weight from the hull makes it break and bend
Like slim pickens atop the bomb
You hold on to the bitter end
Got your first start taking advice from these people that you call your friends
Snitches that stand in a row, didn't you know
You don't have to be like them
Alexandria
Like slim pickens atop the bomb
You hold on to the bitter end
Got your first start taking advice from these people that you call your friends
Snitches that stand in a row, didn't you know
You don't have to be like them
Alexandria
Don't have yo be like them
I just read your letter and fell down to my knees
My tears stain the paper and inside I found your keys
You're leaving for somewhere to find yourself again
You hope I forget you, like an echo in the wind
What now my heart cried
How am I to survive?
Like the ship of Cleopatra
With silver oars and flowing purple sails
I long for Alexandria
The land of fairytales
I walk to the bedroom and turn off all the lights
I'm hiding from sorrow and the fire of our nights
I lay on your pillow and breathe your memory
And dream of the city far beyond the deep blue see
What now my heart cried
With a seductive smile and a hypnotic gaze
I broke the silence and asked her name
She whispered in my ear
That there is only fear
Without hope or love for each other
I didn't need any hope I wasn't looking for love
I just needed a fix someone I could touch
I wasn't taking a chance on any type of romance
I just needed something
I bought the hotel room I knew that she was doomed
Like all the ones before another countless face
Caressing her pale skin
As smooth as porcelain
She undressed to reveal black lace
Pulling her close I felt her flesh
My not breath kissed her icy neck
Shot a chill down her spine
I knew the time was right
I will follow my intuition
Hold on tight and won't let go
With every breath I feel the tension
I just don't let it show
Each thrust, in time
I think I've crossed that line
I'm ready I'm ready
I'm gonna blow
To my surprise she knew the game
A selfish act, just wanted laid
Quietly she moaned John it's your turn
I thought what could it hurt
I wasn't fully aware of her sadistic intent
'Till she pulled out a whip then I knew what she meant
She tied me down and lit candles of red
And unleashed her fury
Each violent strike opened a wound
In ancient tongues she was consumed
On the wall a pentagram
While she took the seed of man
Alexandria you're a demon whore
A succubus a black hole
A deep void filled with passion
A wicked bitch a love assassin
An evil twist I can't resist the mistress of the damned
The stakes are high now I am damned
The stakes are high now I am doomed
My soul's at hand
Alexandria
(Haamiah)
Born three hunderd years
Before Christ in Macedonia
Another myth that spred his name
Throught the unknown east
Warriors marching restlessly
Our dreams were fed by our glories
Foresseing a new, a vast world
A nation opened to all
(Arlim)
Alexander the Great reached all
The lands he could touch with his own hands
Dreamed about a world of free men
The freest man ever lived
(Haamiah)
Persians striking at the crack of dawn
Two hundred fifty thousand men
But even with less than a quarter of them
We´ll enter into Babylon
Pharaoh in Egypt
Our dreams will feed our glories
Dreaming the men´s biggest dream
A nation opened to all
(Arlim)
Alexander the Great reached all
The lands he could touch with his own hands
Dreamed about a world of free men
The freest man ever lived
(Judith)
Loved by all
Royal blood
Beware of those
Who Think too much
(Haamiah)
Alexander the Great reached all
The lands he could touch with his own hands
Dreamed about a world of free men
He´s built a whole nation...
(Arlim)
