Gaelic:
A stór, a stór, a ghrá
A stór, a stór an dtiocfaidh tú?
A stór, a stór, a grhá
An dtiocfaidh tú nó an bhfanfaidh tú?
Bhí me lá breá samhraidh i mo sheasamh ar an mhargadh
'S is iomai fear a dúirt lion: "Monuar, gan tú sa bhaile agam".
Gheall mo ghrá domsa cinnte go dtiocfadh si
Ni raibh a culaith Déanta agus sin an rud a choinnigh i
Thart tóin an gharrai, a Mháire, bhfuil an fhidil leat?
Aicearra na bprátai go dtéimid' sair an fhidileoir
Mhí mise lán den tsaoil is bhi cion amuigh is istigh orm
Nach mór a dáthraigh an saol nuair nach bhfuil eion ag duine ar

English:
One fine summers day as I stood there in the market place
Many a fine young man remarked, “I’m sad you are not home with me.”
Chorus:
My darling, my darling, my love
My darling, my darling, will you come with me
My darling, my darling, my love will you come with me or settled be.
My true love promised kindly that she would surely come with me
Her wedding dress not ready, delayed her in joining me.
We have got water from the Eirne, and green grass from the heaven’s stems
Cows udders are near rending from the overflow of milk in them.
By the bottom of the garden, a Mary, is the fiddle there?
The shortcut by the praties, we’ll hasten to the fiddler.
At one time in my life I was dearly loved by everyone
Uncle Rat went out to ride
Kitty alone, Kitty alone
Uncle Rat went out to ride
Kitty alone and I
Uncle Rat went out to ride
Sword and buckle by his side
Ma cax macari duck and a dil
Kitty alone and I
Lady Mouse, will marry me?
Kitty alone, Kitty alone
Lady Mouse, will marry me?
Kitty alone and I
Lady Mouse, will marry me?
Ask my Uncle Rat, says she
Ma cax macari duck and a dil
Kitty alone and I
Uncle Rat, will you marry Lady Mouse?
Kitty alone, Kitty alone
Uncle Rat, will you marry Lady Mouse?
Kitty alone and I
Uncle Rat, will you marry Lady Mouse?
Yes, kind sir, and half my house
Ma cax macari duck and a dil
Kitty alone and I
Lady Mouse, where will the wedding be?
Kitty alone, Kitty alone
Lady Mouse, where will the wedding be?
Kitty alone and I
Lady Mouse, where will the wedding be?
Ask my Uncle Rat, says she
Ma cax macari duck and a dil
Kitty alone and I
Uncle Rat, where will the wedding be?
Kitty alone, Kitty alone
Uncle Rat, where will the wedding be?
Kitty alone and I
Uncle Rat, where will the wedding be?
Up at the top of a holly tree
Ma cax macari duck and a dil
There were two sisters of County Clare
Oh the wind and rain
One was dark and the other was fair
Oh the dreadful wind and rain
And they both had the love of the miller's son
Oh the wind and rain
But he was fond of the fairer one
Oh the dreadful wind and rain
So she pushed her into the river to drown
Oh the wind and rain
And watched her as she floated out
Oh the dreadful wind and rain
She floated 'til she came to the miller's pond
Oh the wind and rain
Dead on the water like a golden swan
Oh the dreadful wind and rain
And she came to rest on the riverside
Oh the wind and rain
And her bones were washed by the rolling tide
Oh the dreadful wind and rain
And along the road came a fiddler fair
Oh the wind and rain
And found her bones just lying there
Oh the dreadful wind and rain
So he made a fiddle peg of her long finger bone
Oh the wind and rain
He made a fiddle peg of her long finger bone
Crying oh the dreadful wind and rain
And he strung his fiddle bow with her long yellow hair
Oh the wind and rain
He strung his fiddle bow with her long yellow hair
Crying oh the dreadful wind and rain
And he made a little fiddle of her little breast bone
Oh the wind and rain
He made a fiddle of her little breast bone
Crying oh the dreadful wind and rain
But the only tune that the fiddle would play
Was oh the wind and rain
The only tune that the fiddle would play
This pretty young maid I seek far and wide
My heartache each morn with her I don't meet
When I go to the bar, the dance hall or fete
But I'd follow her trail in the dead of the night
Chorus:
Now you're the young man that travels afar
Find me a gem I can have as my wife
Never yearn or pine for flocks or for kine
And I'll conjure plan that will charm her life
Have her youthful and fair with no worry or care
Patient and wise in affairs of all kind
Modest and mild, without too much pride
That is my love if she hadn't a dime
(Chorus)
Let no blemish or shame be attached to her name
Honest in heart and gentle in mien
No hatred or vice to be heard in her voice
But cheerful and smiling from morning 'til night
(Chorus)
One morning in springtime as day was a-dawning
Bright Phoebus had risen from over the lea
I spied a fair maiden as homeward she wandered
From herding her flocks on the hills of Glenshee
I stood in amazement, says I, "Pretty fair maid
If you will come down to St. John's Town with me
There's ne'er been a lady set foot in my castle
There's ne'er been a lady dressed grander than thee"
A coach and six horses to go at your bidding
And all men that speak shall say "ma'am unto thee
Fine servants to serve you and go at your bidding
I'll make you my bride, my sweet lass of Glenshee
"Oh what do I care for your castles and coaches?
And what do I care for your gay grandeury?
I'd rather be home at my cot, at my spinning
Or herding my flocks on the hills of Glenshee"
"Away with such nonsense and get up beside me
E'er summer comes on my sweet bride you will be
And then in my arms I will gently caress thee"
'Twas then she consented, I took her with me
Seven years have rolled on since we were united
There's many's a change, but there's no change on me
And my love, she's as fair as that morn on the mountain
Being on the twenty-third of June
Oh as I sat weaving all at my loom
Being on the twenty-third of June
Oh as I sat weaving all at my loom
I heard a thrush singing on yon bush
And the song she sang was the jug of punch
What more pleasure can a boy desire
Than sitting down, oh beside the fire
What more pleasure can a boy desire
Than sitting down, oh beside the fire
And in his hand, oh a jug of punch
And on his knee a tidy wench
When I am dead and left in my mold
At my head and feet place a flowing bowl
When I am dead and left in my mold
At my head and feet place a flowing bowl
And every young man that passes by
He can have a drink and remember I
Being on the twenty-third of June
Oh as I sat weaving all at my loom
Being on the twenty-third of June
Oh as I sat weaving all at my loom
I heard a thrush singing on yon bush
One pleasant summer's morning when all the flowers were springing
Nature was adorning and the wee birds sweetly singing
I met my love near Banbridge Town, my charming blue-eyed Sally
She's the queen of the County Down, the flower of Magherally
With admiration I did gaze upon this blue-eyed maiden
Adam wasn't half so much pleased when he met Eve in Eden
Her skin was like the lily white that grows in yonder valley
She's my queen and my heart's delight, the flower of Magherally
Her yellow hair in ringlets clung, her shoes were Spanish leather
Her bonnet with blue ribbons strung, her scarlet cap and feather
Like Venus bright she did appear, my charming blue-eyed Sally
She's the girl that I love dear, the flower of Magherally
I hope the day will surely come when we'll join hands together
'Tis then I'll bring my darling home in spite of wind or weather
And let them all say what they will and let them reel and rally
Fare you well, my own true love
Farewell for a while
I am going away but I'll be back
If I go ten thousand miles
Ten thousand miles, my own true love
Ten thousand miles or more
And the rocks may melt and the seas may burn
If I no more return
Oh, don't you see yon lonesome dove
Sitting on yon ivy tree
He is weeping for her own true love
As I shall weep for mine
Oh, come back, my own true love
And stay a while with me
If I had a friend all on this earth
There's a gentleman in this land
It's recorded on the board
I've sent a letter by post haste
To pledge my love and married bliss
Chorus (after each verse):
You're my love, love, love
You're my loved one so fair
You're my dark sailor boy
And I wish for your care
A ship to the bay
Sets the casks on the rails
When the wine's drained away
She'll be ready to sail
In all this wide world
There is one man I care
Whom Aoife dismissed
And put on board the "Man-of-War"
I journeyed away
And my love's bed reneged
When I heard that my love
With a wave of her hand and her sparkling eye
My island girl waved me goodbye
For another country in another time
For another life under another sky
But don’t just cut off your heart keep it open and sure
Keep it free from hurt and keep an open door
And let the spirit of love that united our soul
Be a gentle dove and guide you to your goal
And I’ll go to that stream and I’ll sing my own prayer
That my island girl shall be safe everywhere
Sing away while you can and before very long
The coming tide brings the chosen one
And there is a hope and there is a peace
In that ancient land where my angel sleeps
And when your river runs high
Let it flow, let it flow
It’s your time with life to let your garden grow
And when your burden gets rough
Let it go, let it go
Let your strength return on every breeze that blows
Through that ancient land, through eternity
O, my island girl, remember me
For your life has its course and you never can say
Who you’ll meet and marry along your way
But be sure from the start that the cities behind
Love the lands living heart and breath eternal time
And when your river runs dry and your halo is torn
Drink the living stream in the calm of the dawn
And may you travel in peace
And may your children be blessed
And your mind released and your soul caressed
In that faraway land where my spirit flies
To my island girl under those ancient skies
And with a wave of her hand and her sparkling eye
My island girl bid me goodbye
For another dream in another time
If you're traveling in the north country fair
Where the wind stands heavy on the borderline
Remember me to one who lives there
For she once was a true love of mine
If you go when the snowflakes storm
When rivers freeze and summer ends
Please see if she has a coat so warm
To keep her from the howling winds
Please see for me if her hair hangs long
If it rolls and flows all down her breast
Please see for me if her hair hangs long
For that's the way I remember her best
I wonder if she remembers me at all
Day and night I've often prayed
In the darkness of my night
The trees, they grow high and the leaves, they do grow green
Many is the time my true love I've seen
Many an hour I watched him all alone
He's young but he's daily growing
Father, dear father, you've done me great wrong
You have married me to a boy who is too young
I am twice twelve and he is but fourteen
He's young but he's daily growing
Daughter, dear daughter, I've done you no wrong
I have married you to a great Lord's son
And he will be a man for you when I am dead and gone
He's young but he's daily growing
Father, dear father, if you see fit
We'll send him to college for another year yet
I'll tie a blue ribbon all around his head
To let the maidens know that he is married
One day I was looking over my father's castle wall
I spied all the boys playing with a ball
And my own true love, he was the flower of them all
He's young but he's daily growing
And so early in the morning at the dawning of the day
They went into a hayfield for to have some sport and play
And what they did there she never would declare
But she never more complained of his growing
At the age of fourteen he was a married man
At the age of fifteen, the father of my son
At the age of sixteen, his grave, it was green
And death had put an end to his growing
I'll buy my love some flannel, I'll make my love a shroud
And every stitch I put in it, the tears, they'll pour down
And every stitch I put in it, how the tears, they will flow
One evening fair to take the air
Down by Blackwaterside
'Twas a-gazing all around me
That the Irish lad I spied
All through the far part of the night
We did lie in sport and play
When this young man arose and gathered his clothes
Saying, "Fare thee well today"
That's not the promise that you gave to me
When you lay on my breast
You could make me believe with your lying words
That the sun rose in the west
Go home, go home to your father's garden
Go home and weep your fill
And think on your own misfortune
You brought on with your want and will
For there's not a girl in this whole wide world
As easily led as I
And when fishes can fly and the seas run dry
It is then that you'll marry I
Adieu, my lovely Nancy
Ten thousand times adieu
I'll be thinking of my own true love
I'll be thinking, dear, of you
Will you change your ring with me, my love?
Will you change your ring with me?
It will be a token of our love
When I am far at sea
When I am far away from home
And you know not where I am
Love letters I will write to you
From every foreign strand
When the farmer boys return at night
They will tell their girls fine tales
Of all that they've been doing
All day out in the fields
Of the wheat and hay that they cut down
Sure it's all that they can do
While we poor jolly, jolly hearts of oak
Must plow the seas all through
And when we return again, my love
To our own dear native shore
Fine stories we will tell to you
How we plowed the oceans o'er
And we'll make the alehouses to ring
And the taverns, they will roar
And when our money is all gone
I can show you the world
Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did
You last let your heart decide?
I can open your eyes
Take you wonder by wonder
Over, sideways and under
On a magic carpet ride
A whole new world
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us no or where to go
Or say we're only dreaming
A whole new world
A dazzling place I never knew
But when I'm way up here, it's crystal clear
That now I'm in a whole new world with you
Now I'm in a whole new world with you
Unbelievable sights
Indescribable feeling
Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
Through an endless diamond sky
A whole new world
Don't you dare close your eyes
A hundred thousand things to see
(Hold your breath, it gets better)
I'm like a shooting star
I've come so far
I can't go back
To where I used to be
A whole new world
Every turn a surprise
With new horizons to pursue
Every moment red-letter
I'll chase them anywhere
There's time to spare
Let me share this whole new world with you
A whole new world
That's where we'll be
A thrilling chase
A wondrous place
Make way for Prince Ali
Say hey! It's Prince Ali
Hey! Clear the way in the old Bazaar
Hey you!
Let us through!
It's a bright new star!
Oh Come!
Be the first on your block to meet his eye!
Make way!
Here he comes!
Ring bells! Bang the drums!
Are you gonna love this guy!
Prince Ali! Fabulous he!
Ali Ababwa
Genuflect, shom some respect
Down on one knee!
Now, try your best to stay calm
Brush up your sunday salaam
The come and meet his spectacular coterie
Prince Ali!
Mighty is he!
Ali Ababwa
Strong as ten regular men, definitely!
He faced the galloping hordes
A hundred bad guys with swords
Who sent those goons to their lords?
Why, Prince Ali
He's got seventy-five golden camels
Purple peacocks
He's got fifty-three
When it comes to exotic-type mammals
Has he got a zoo?
I'm telling you, it's a world-class menagerie
Prince Ali! Handsome is he, Ali Ababwa
That physique! How can I speak
Weak at the knee
Well, get on out in that square
Adjust your vein and prepare
To gawk and grovel and stare at Prince Ali!
There's no question this Ali's alluring
Never ordinary, never boring
Everything about the man just plain impresses
He's a winner, he's a whiz, a wonder!
He's about to pull my heart asunder!
And I absolutely love the way he dresses!
He's got ninety-five white Persian monkeys
(He's got the monkeys, let's see the monkeys)
And to view them he charges no fee
(He's generous, so generous)
He's got slaves, he's got servants and flunkies
(Proud to work for him)
They bow to his whim love serving him
They're just lousy with loyalty to Ali! Prince Ali!
Prince Ali!
Amorous he! Ali Ababwa
Heard your princess was a sight lovely to see
And that, good people, is why he got dolled up and dropped by
With sixty elephants, llamas galore
With his bears and lions
A brass band and more
With his forty fakirs, his cooks, his bakers
His birds that warble on key
Riff-raff, street rat, I don't buy that
If only they'd look closer
Would they see a poor boy?
Onze wereld is mooi
Spannend, schitterend, stralend
't Is een wereld waar je al je zorgen snel vergeet
'k Maak je horizon breed
Toon je wonder na wonder
Alles even bijzonder
Op een perzisch toverkleed
Vlieg met me mee
Van nu af zijn we beiden vrij
Niemand die ons gebied
Mag wel, mag niet
Of zegt dat wij maar dromen
Vlieg met je mee
't Is of ik door de ruimte glij
Wij staan nu samen in
Eindelijk helemaal vrij
Wie had dat kunnen denken
Zweven, tuimelen en zwenken
Al die ruimte voor jou en mij
Vlieg met je mee
(Geef je ogen de kost)
Hoe is dit alles ooit ontstaan
(Het is adembenemend)
Ben net een meteoor
Ik schiet maar door
Het is te laat om nu nog terug te gaan
Een nieuw begin
Alles even subliem
M'n hart is vol met puur geluk
Het is net of we dromen
Wij staan nu samen in
Een nieuw begin
Deze wereld deel ik liefst met jou
Een nieuw begin
Een nieuw begin
wij zijn nu vrij
Wij zijn nu vrij
Wij staan nu in
Een nieuw begin
Oh I come from a land, from a faraway place
Where the caravan camels roam
Where they cut off your ear
If they don't like your face
It's barbaric, but hey, it's home
When the wind's from the east
And the sun's from the west
And the sand in the glass is right
Come on down
Stop on by
Hop a carpet and fly
To another Arabian Night
Arabian nights
Like Arabian days
Often more than not
Are hotter than hot
In a lot of good ways
Arabian nights
'Neath Arabian moons
A fool off his guard
Could fall and fall hard
Lyrics: 1. Strophe Camouflow:
Ich seh die Welt mit anderen Augen
mit meinen Augen/ Ich will mit niemand tauschen
was soll ich anderen glauben
mich plagen andre Sorgen
du kannst mein Schlaf nicht rauben
dein Grab selbst schaufeln/ selbst draufgehn
Wem geben - wem nehmen/ Auf wen zählen
also lass ich's.
3. Strophe Walterama
Stuttgart meine Stadt Rap mein Temparament
mein Gast bist, bleib relaxed, entspann dich,
kein Zufall, kein Scheissdreck, pure Absicht.
