Jack Narz Voicemail
It's 1998 and I'm in RI trying to make contacts the best I could. I find a Jack Narz on AOL and for giggles I write to him. You could imagine my shock when I get this early email "voicemail". Needless to say, there is no mistaking that voice.
Jack and I became great friends and we'd get together every trip and invite me to his country club and he'd tell story after story after story! After I moved here our visits became more infrequent. He'd push off getting together...little did I know, he wasn't doing well and just didn't want to show it.
For those who watched him over the years, know that he was a delightful, gentle, kind and encouraging man. I feel very fortunate to have had his friendship in the later part of his life. Here is a portion of that voicemail. Now you hear him!

Video Village with Jack Narz / 1960 / Rare
Jack Narz served as the host (introduced on-air as "the Mayor") from the show's premiere until September 9, 1960, after which he departed for personal reasons. Red Rowe filled in as Mayor for the week of September 16 (including the final nighttime episode); the following Monday, Monty Hall replaced Narz and hosted through the remainder of the show's run.
Kenny Williams served as the announcer (the "town crier") throughout the show's run. Joanne Copeland (later to become the second Mrs. Johnny Carson) served as the show's original hostess during the time it originated from New York City. Shortly after Hall joined the show and Heatter-Quigley moved it to CBS Television City in Hollywood, California, Copeland was replaced by Eileen Barton.
