Plot
Based on the true story of Juliet Hulme and Pauline Parker, two close friends who share a love of fantasy and literature, who conspire to kill Pauline's mother when she tries to end the girls' intense and obsessive relationship.
Keywords: 1950s, adultery, altar, alternate-world, ambulance, apology, apparition, arrest, art-class, aunt-niece-relationship
The true story of a crime that shocked a nation.
Not all angels are innocent.
From a secret world no one could see...came a crime no one could believe.
Juliet Hulme: [Juliet has just arrived at her new school. For French class she has taken the name Antoinette] Excuse me, Miss Waller, you've made a mistake. "Je doutais qu'il vienne" is in fact the spoken subjunctive.::Miss Waller: It is customary to stand when addressing a teacher,::[pause]::Miss Waller: Antoinette.::Juliet Hulme: [stands] You should have written "vînt".::Miss Waller: I must have copied it incorrectly from my notes.::Juliet Hulme: [stands] You don't need to apologise, Miss Waller. I found it frightfully difficult myself until I got the hang of it.
Juliet Hulme: [speaking too brightly of the murder of Honorah Parker Rieper] I think she knows what's going to happen. She doesn't appear to bear us any grudge.
Juliet Hulme: Only the best people fight against all obstacles in pursuit of happiness.
Juliet Hulme: All the best people have bad chests and bone diseases. It's all frightfully romantic.
Pauline Parker: She is most unreasonable. Why could not mother die? Dozens of people are dying all the time, thousands, so why not mother? And father too.
Pauline Parker: [voiceover, from her diary] We have decided how sad it is for others that they cannot appreciate our genius.
Pauline Parker: Oh, I wish James Mason would do a religious picture! He'd be perfect as Jesus!::Juliet Hulme: Daddy says the Bible's a load of bunkum!::Pauline Parker: But we're all going to heaven?::Juliet Hulme: I'M not! I'M going to The Fourth World... it's sort of like heaven. Only better, because there aren't any Christians!
[Of Pauline's homosexuality]::Doctor Bennett: Chances are she'll grow out of it. If not... well, medical science is progressing in leaps and bounds. There could be a breakthrough at any time!
Pauline Parker: [narrating] We realised why Deborah and I have such extraordinary telepathy and why people treat us and look at us the way they do. It is because we are MAD. We are both stark raving MAD!
Pauline Parker: [narrating] This notion is not a new one but this time it is a definite plan which we intend to carry out. We have worked it out carefully and are both thrilled by the idea. Naturally we feel a trifle nervous, but the pleasure of anticipation is great.
Mario Lanza (January 31, 1921 – October 7, 1959) was an American tenor and Hollywood movie star of the late 1940s and the 1950s. The son of Italian emigrants, he began studying to be a professional singer at the age of 16. He was born Alfred Arnold Cocozza. He changed his name when he signed with MGM. His mother's maiden name was Maria Lanza.
After appearing at the Hollywood Bowl in 1947, Lanza signed a seven-year contract with MGM's head, Louis B. Mayer, who saw his performance and was impressed by his singing. Prior to this, the adult Lanza had sung only two performances of an opera. The following year (1948), however, he would sing the role of Pinkerton in Puccini's Madama Butterfly in New Orleans.[citation needed]
His movie debut was in That Midnight Kiss (1949) with Kathryn Grayson and Ethel Barrymore. The following year, in The Toast of New Orleans, his featured popular song "Be My Love" became his first million-selling hit. In 1951, he played the role of Enrico Caruso (1873–1921), his tenor idol, in the biopic, The Great Caruso, which produced another million-seller with "The Loveliest Night of the Year" (a song which used the melody of Sobre las Olas). The Great Caruso was the top-grossing film that year.
Mario (マリオ, Mario?) is a fictional character in the Mario video game franchise by Nintendo, created by Japanese video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto. Serving as Nintendo's mascot and the eponymous protagonist of the series, Mario has appeared in over 200 video games since his creation. Though originally only appearing in platform games, starting with Donkey Kong, Mario currently appears in varied video game genres such as racing, puzzle, party, role-playing, fighting, and sports.
Mario is depicted as a short, pudgy, Italian plumber who lives in the Mushroom Kingdom. He repeatedly rescues Princess Peach from the turtle-like villain Bowser and stops his numerous plans to destroy him and take over the kingdom. Mario also has other enemies and rivals, including Donkey Kong and Wario. Since 1995, he has been voiced by Charles Martinet.
As Nintendo's mascot, Mario is said to be the most famous character in video game history.Mario games, as a whole, have sold more than 210 million units, making the Mario franchise the best-selling video game franchise of all time. Outside of the Super Mario platform series, he has appeared in video games of other genres, including the Mario Kart racing series, sports games, such as the Mario Tennis and Mario Golf series, role-playing video games such as Paper Mario and Super Mario RPG, and educational games, such as Mario is Missing! and Mario's Time Machine. He has inspired television shows, film, comics, and a line of licensed merchandise.
Kathryn Grayson (February 9, 1922 - February 17, 2010) was an American actress and operatic soprano singer.
From the age of twelve, Grayson trained as an opera singer. She was under contract to MGM by the early 1940s, soon establishing a career principally through her work in musicals. After several supporting roles, she was a lead performer in such films as Thousands Cheer (1943), Anchors Aweigh (1945) with Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly, and Show Boat (1951) and Kiss Me Kate (1953) (both with Howard Keel).
When film musical production declined, she worked in theatre, appearing in Camelot (1962–1964). Later in the decade she performed in several operas, including La bohème, Madama Butterfly, Orpheus in the Underworld and La traviata.
She was born Zelma Kathryn Elisabeth Hedrick in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, the daughter of Charles E. Hedrick and Lillian Grayson Hedrick (1897–1955). Charles was a building contractor-realtor.
Lillian was of British descent and Charles was of German and Sicilian descent.
Fred Astaire (born Frederick Austerlitz; May 10, 1899 – June 22, 1987) was an American film and Broadway stage dancer, choreographer, singer and actor. His stage and subsequent film career spanned a total of 76 years, during which he made 31 musical films. He was named the fifth Greatest Male Star of All Time by the American Film Institute. He is particularly associated with Ginger Rogers, with whom he made ten films.
Gene Kelly, another major innovator in filmed dance, said that "the history of dance on film begins with Astaire". Beyond film and television, many classical dancers and choreographers, Rudolf Nureyev, Sammy Davis, Jr., Michael Jackson, Gregory Hines, Mikhail Baryshnikov, George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins among them, also acknowledged his importance and influence.
Astaire was born in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Johanna "Ann" (née Geilus) and Frederic "Fritz" Austerlitz (born September 8, 1868, as Friedrich Emanuel Austerlitz). Astaire's mother was born in the United States to Lutheran German immigrants from East Prussia and Alsace, while Astaire's father was born in Linz, Austria, to Jewish parents who had converted to Catholicism.
Eleanor Torrey Powell (November 21, 1912 – February 11, 1982) was an American film actress and dancer of the 1930s and 1940s, known for her exuberant solo tap dancing.
Powell was born in Springfield, Massachusetts. A dancer since childhood, she was discovered at the age of 11 by the head of the Vaudeville Kiddie revue, Gus Edwards. When she was 17, she brought her graceful, athletic style to Broadway, where she starred in various revues and musicals. During this time, she was dubbed "the world's greatest tap dancer" due to her machine-gun footwork, and in the early 1930s appeared as a chorus girl in a couple of early, inconsequential musical films.
In 1935, the leggy, fresh-faced Powell made the move to Hollywood and did a specialty number in her first major film, George White's 1935 Scandals which she later described as a disaster because she was accidentally made up to look like an Egyptian. The experience left her unimpressed with Hollywood and when she was courted by MGM, she initially refused their offers of a contract. Reportedly, Powell attempted to dissuade the studio by making what she felt were unreasonable salary demands, but MGM agreed to them and she finally accepted. The studio groomed her for stardom, making minimal changes in her makeup and conduct.
Arrivederci Roma
Goodbye, goodbye to Rome
City of a million moonlit places
City of a million warm embraces
Where I found the one above the faces far from home
Arriverderci Roma
It's time for us to part
Save the wedding bells for my returning
Keep my lover's arms outstretched and yearning
Please be sure the flame of love keeps burning in her heart
Arriverderci Roma
It's time for us to part
Save the wedding bells for my returning
Keep my lover's arms outstretched and yearning
Please be sure the flame of love keeps burning in her heart
My heart is aching for someone
And you are that someone
You know the truth of my story
You must believe what you see
I too may someday love someone
From somewhere there'll come, one
One who will hear the same story
That you're telling me
Wanting you everyday, I am wanting you
Every night I am longing to
Hold you close to my eager breast
Wanting Lord in that heaven I'm dreaming of
Makes that heaven seem far above
Any hope that I've gained my quest
Dreams are big, but I cling to a nearest trance
That you may hear me
Dreams are being, for whenever I wake
I never find you near me, wanting you
Nothing else in this world will do
Valencia, in my dreams it always seems
I hear you softly call to me
Valencia, where the orange trees forever
Send the breeze beside the sea
Valencia, in my arms I hold your charms
Beneath the blossoms high above
You love me, in Valencia long ago
We found our paradise of love
In a magic dream of memory I see you again
In that old town far away beneath the skies of Spain
That city of plenty romances, so shy were your glances
And swiftly the sunshine that dances through the orange broad
Valencia, in my dreams it always seems
I hear you softly call to me
Valencia, where the orange trees forever
Send the breeze beside the sea
Valencia, in my arms I hold your charms
Beneath the blossoms high above
You love me, in Valencia long ago
We found our paradise of love
Valencia, in my arms I hold your charms
Beneath the blossoms high above
You love me, in Valencia long ago
Guardian angels around my bed
Joining me in my prayers
They hush the shadows when they dance about
They shoo away the bears
Guardian angels to comfort me
If I wake in the night
They gather all my dreams
Their halos are my light
They dry my tears
If I should weep
They tuck me in
They rouse me from my sleep
Guardian angels around my bed
Standing by till I rise
There's one with shining wings that holds my hand
Golden days, in the sunshine of a happy youth
Golden days, full of gaiety and full of truth
In our hearts we remember them all else above
Golden days, days of youth and love
How we laughed with the joy that only love can bring
Looking back through memory's eyes
We will know life has nothing sweeter than its springtime
Golden days, when we're young
Tonight was just a masquerade
Tomorrow just another day
Let come whatever
Tonight or never
I'll through the mask away
Beloved with all my heart I love you
With every breath I pray some day
You will be mine
Summer or spring
Winter or fall
You are my life
My love my all
Beloved
The very stars above you
Are jealous of the way your eyes
Sparkle and shine
Day after day near or apart
I try to say be still my trembling heart
But try though I may I cannot hide
This passion inside
That won't be denied
This is be madness
Then it's all in madness
I never know I'll never rest
Till you are mine
Beloved believe me when I tell you
From now until the last bright star
Fades from the blue
Now and forever
Whatever I dooooo
A kiss is the touch of summer's fingertips
A kiss means so much
When April rain is in your eyes
The autumn dies with no goodbyes to say
A kiss will stay with you
And what your heart has longed to touch
Two willing lips can tell so well
They tell how lovely love can be
Not in words but you'll see by a kiss
The reason story books must end with a kiss
It means that life has just begun
That love has won, that kissing's fun
We know but time will show
It's much more than this
It all depends on whom you'll kiss
But you'll see by a kiss
The reason story books must end with a kiss
It means that life has just begun
That love has won, that kissing's fun
We know but time will show
It's much more than this
Wonder why I'm not myself off late
I'm feeling strangely great, I wonder why
I suppose some genius could explain
Why I walk in the rain, just let him try
I guess there is a simple explanation
Unless I've come up with a new sensation
It could be that she's caught up with me
And all the mystery I'm speaking of
Is simply that I went and fell in love
I suppose some genius could explain
Why I walk in the rain, just let him try
I guess there is a simple explanation
Unless I've come up with a new sensation
It could be that she's caught up with me
And all the mystery I'm speaking of
When you are in love
It's the loveliest night of the year
Stars twinkle above
And you almost can touch them from here
Words fall into rhyme
Anytime you are holding me near
When you are in love
It's the loveliest night of the year
Waltzing along in the blue
Like a breeze drifting over the sand
Thrilled by the wonder of you
And the wonderful touch of your hand
And my heart starts to beat
Like a child when a birthday is near
So kiss me, my sweet
It's the loveliest night of the year
Waltzing along in the blue
Like a breeze drifting over the sand
Thrilled by the wonder of you
And the wonderful touch of your hand
And my heart starts to beat
Like a child when a birthday is near
So kiss me, my sweet
My wild Irish Rose, the sweetest flower that grows. You may search everywhere, but none can compare with my wild Irish Rose. My wild Irish Rose, the dearest flower that grows, And some day for my sake, she may let me take the bloom from my wild Irish Rose.
They may sing of their roses, which by other names, Would smell just as sweetly, they say. But I know that my Rose would never consent To have that sweet name taken away. Her glances are shy when e'er I pass by The bower where my true love grows, And my one wish has been that some day I may win The heart of my wild Irish Rose.
Serenade
Our love is the serenade
A song the heavens made and angels played
When first we kissed
We touched and I became devine my love
Because of you the stars that shine my love
Their mine my love
Serenade
Our love is the serenade
A song of sweet desire
No ordinary choir could quite resist
I have known the magic of
A theme that cannot take
Guardian angels around my bed
Joining me in my prayers
They hush the shadows when they dance about
They shoo away the bears
Guardian angels to comfort me
If I wake in the night
They gather all my dreams
Their halos are my light
They dry my tears
If I should weep
They tuck me in
They rouse me from my sleep
Guardian angels around my bed
Standing by till I rise
There's one with shining wings that holds my hand
And shows me Paradise
A ave Maria
A ave Maria
Oo oo oo oo
Were taking over the station
Survivors of a different kind
Messages of old dimensions say that were wise
A ave Maria
A ave Maria
Oo oo oo oo
Sensations are out on parade now
Thoughts have ended up left behind
Going round in circles fighting hidden desires
A ave Maria
A ave Maria
The signals are there to read
It's never that hard to see
Stop wasting your time you will find
Natures not always kind
A ave Maria
A ave Maria
A ave Maria
A ave Maria

Be my love, for no one else can end this yearning
This need that you and you alone create
Just fill my arms the way you've filled my dreams
The dreams that you inspire with every sweet desire
Be my love and with your kisses set me burning
One kiss is all that I need to seal my fate
And, hand-in-hand, we'll find love's promised land
There'll be no one but you for me, eternally
If you will be my love
(Be my love, for no one else can end this yearning
This need that you and you alone create)
Just fill my arms the way you've filled my dreams
The dreams that you inspire with ev'ry sweet desire
(Be my love and with your kisses) set me burning
One kiss is all that I need to seal my fate
And, hand-in-hand, we'll find love's promised land
There'll be no one but you for me, eternally
Stretti stretti nell'estasi d'amor
La spagnola s'amar cosi'
Bocca bocca la notte e il di'
Stretti stretti nell'estasi d'amor

Bocca bocca la notte e il di'
Amo con tutto l'ardore
A chi e' sincero con me
Degli anni miei il vigore
Gli fo' ben presto veder

Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done on earth
As it is in Heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our debts
As we forgive our debtors
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil
For thine is the kingdom
And the power and the glory forever
There's a song in the air,
But the fair senorita
Doesn't seem to care
For the song in the air.
So I'll sing to the mule
If you're sure she won't think that I am just a fool
Serenading a mule.
Amigo mio, does she not have a dainty bray?
She listens carefully to each little word we play.
La bella senorita?
Si, si, mi muchachito,
She'd love to sing it too if only she knew the way.
But try as she may,
In her voice there's a flaw!
And all that the lady can say Is "e-e-aw!"
Senorita donkey sita, not so fleet as a mosquito,
But so sweet like my Chiquita,
You're the one for me.
There's a light in her eye,
Tho' she may try to hide it,
She cannot deny,
There's a light in her eye.
Oh! the charm of her smile
So beguiles all who see her
That they'd ride a mile
For the charm of her smile.
Amigo mio, is she listenin' to my song?
No, no, mi muchachito, how could you be so wrong?
La bella senorita?
Si, si, la senorita,
She loves to sing it to me
If only she knew all the words,
Her face is a dream
Like an angel I saw!
But all that my darlin' can scream
Is: "e-e-aw!"
Senorita donkey sita, not so fleet as a mosquito,
But so sweet like my Chiquita,
Oh, little town of Bethlehem
How still we see thee lie
Above thy deep and dreamless
Sleep the silent stars go by
Yet in they dark streets shineth
The everlasting light
The hopes and fears of all
The years are met in thee tonight
For Christ is born of Mary
And gathered all above
While mortals sleep
The angels keep
Their watch of wondering love
Oh, morning stars together
Proclaim the Holy birth
And praises sing
To God the King
And peace to men on Earth
How silently, how silently
The wondrous gift is given
So God imparts to human hearts
The blessings of his heaven
No ear may hear his coming
But in this world of sin
Where meek souls
Will receive him still
The dear Christ enters in
Oh, holy child of Bethlehem
Descend to us we pray
Cast out our sin and enter in
Be born in us today
We hear the christmas angels
The great glad tidings tell
O come to us, abide with us
Hark! the herald angels sing
Glory to the new-born King
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled
Joyful, all ye nations, rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With the angelic host proclaim
Christ is born in Bethlehem
Hark! the herald angels sing
Glory to the new-born King
Christ, by highest heaven adored
Christ, the everlasting Lord
Late in time behold him come
Offspring of the Virgin's womb
Joyful, all ye nations, rise
Join the triumph of the skies
Pleased as man with man to dwell
Jesus, our Emmanuel!
Hark! the herald angels sing
Glory to the new-born King
Hail the Heaven-born
Prince of Peace
Hail the Son of Righteousness
Light and life to all He brings
Risen with healing in His wings
Joyful, all ye nations, rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With the angelic host proclaim
Christ is born in Bethlehem
Hark! the herald angels sing
Glory to the new-born King
Hark! the herald angels sing

Amid the roses mary sits and rocks her jesus child,
While among the tree tops, sighs a breeze so warm and mild.
And soft and sweetly, sings a bird upon the bow
Aaahh baby, dear one, slumber now.
Happy is thy laughter,
Silent is thy holy rest
Lay thy head in slumber,
Soft upon thy mother's breast
Besame, besame mucho
Each time I cling to your kiss
I hear music divine
Besame mucho, hold me, my darling
And say that you'll always be mine
This joy is something new
My arms enfolding you
Never knew this thrill before
Whoever thought I'll be holding you close to me
Whispering it's you I adore
Dearest one, if you should leave me
Each little dream would take wing
And my life would be through
Besame mucho, love me forever
The silver star shines on the sea, the waves are gentle, the wind is favourable.
LETRA
Silent night, holy night.
All is calm, all is bright.
'Round yon virgin mother and child.
Holy infant so tender and mild.
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.
Silent night, holy night.
Shepherds quake at the sight.
Glorious strains from Heaven afar
Heavenly Hosts sing alleluia.
Christ the Saviour is born,

Ein zwei drei vier
Lift your stein and drink your beer
Ein zwei drei vier
Lift your stein and drink your beer
Drink! Drink! Drink!
To eyes that are bright as stars when they're shining on me!
Drink! Drink! Drink!
To lips that are red and sweet as the fruit on the tree!
Here's a hope that those bright eyes will shine
Lovingly, longingly soon into mine!
May those lips that are red and sweet,
Tonight with joy my own lips meet!
Drink! Drink!
Let the toast start!
May young hearts never part!
Drink! Drink! Drink!
Let every true lover salute his sweetheart!
Drink! Drink! Drink!
To arms that are white and warm as a rose in the sun!
Drink! Drink! Drink!
To hearts that will love one, only when I am the one!
Here's a hope that those soft arms will twine
Tenderly, trustingly soon around mine!
All I ask is the right to see those smiling eyes beguiling me
Drink! Drink!
Let the toast start!
May young hearts never part!
Drink! Drink! Drink!
Let every true lover salute his sweetheart!
Let's drink!
Drink! Drink! Drink!
To eyes that are bright as stars when they're shining on me!
Drink! Drink! Drink!
To lips that are red and sweet as the fruit on the tree!
Here's a hope that those soft arms will twine
Tenderly, trustingly soon around mine!
All I ask is a right to see those smiling eyes beguiling me
Drink! Drink!
Let the toast start!
May young hearts never part!
Drink! Drink! Drink!
Let every true lover salute his sweetheart!
Red rose out of the east
Tell the love I love least
Who knows
Red rose out of the west
Tell the love I love best
Love is a rose
Only a rose I give you
Only a song dying away
Only a smile to keep in memory
Until we meet another day
Only a rose to whisper
Blushing as roses do
I bring along a smile
Or a song for anyone
Only a rose for you
Only a rose to whisper
Blushing as roses do
I bring along a smile
Or a song for anyone
I saw three ships come sailing in
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day
I saw three ships come sailing in
On Christmas Day in the morning
And all the bells on earth shall ring
On Christmas Day in the morning
Let us all rejoice again
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day
Let us all rejoice again
On Christmas Day in the morning
I saw three ships come sailing in
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day
I saw three ships come sailing in
I'll walk with god
From this day on
His helping hand I'll lean upon
This is my prayer my humble plea
May the lord be ever with me
There is no death though eyes grow dim
There is no fear when I'm near to him
I'll lean on him forever
And he'll forsake me never
He will not fail me as long as my faith is strong
What ever road I may walk alone
I'll walk with god
I'll take his hand
I'll talk with god he'll understand
I'll pray to him
Each day to him
And he'll hear the words that I say
His hand will guide my throne and rod
And I'll never walk alone
O Christmas tree
O Christmas tree
How are thy
Leaves so verdant
O Christmas tree
O Christmas tree
How are thy
Leaves so verdant
Weeee
Not only
In the summertime
But even in winter
Is thy prime
O Christmas tree
O Christmas tree
How are thy
Leaves so verdant
O Christmas tree
O Christmas tree
Much pleasure
Doth thou bring me
O Christmas tree
O Christmas tree
Much pleasure
Doth thou bring me
For every year
The Christmas tree
Brings to us
All both joy and glee
O Christmas tree
O Christmas tree
Much pleasure
Doth thou bring me
O Christmas tree
O Christmas tree
Thy candles
Shine out brightly
O Christmas tree
O Christmas tree
Thy candles
Shine out brightly
Each bough doth
Hold it's tiny light
That makes each toy
To sparkle bright
O Christmas tree
O Christmas tree
Thy candles
Without a song, the day would never end
Without a song, the road would never bend
When things go wrong, a man ain't got a friend
Without a song
That field of corn, would never see a plough
That field of corn, would be deserted now
A man is born, but he's no good no how
Without a song
I got my trouble and woe, but sure as I know
The Jordan will roll
I'll get along as long as a song is strung
In my soul
I'll never know what makes the rain to fall
I'll never know what makes the grass so tall
I only know there ain't no love at all
Without a song
I got my trouble an' woe, but sure as I know
The Jordan will roll
I'll get along as long as a song is strung
In my soul
I'll never know what makes the rain to fall
I'll never know what makes the grass so tall
I only know there ain't no love at all
The silver star shines on the sea, the waves are gentle, the wind is favourable.
Because you're mine The brightest star I see Looks down, my love, and envies me Because you're mine, because you're mine
Because you're mine The breeze that hurries by Becomes a melody and why? Because you're mine, because you're mine
I only know for as long as I may live Ill only live for the kiss that you alone may give me
And when we kiss That isnt thunder, dear Its only my poor heart you hear and its applause Because you're mine
I only know for as long as I may live Ill only live for the kiss that you alone may give me
Come prima, più di prima t'amerò
Per la vita, la mia vita ti darò
Sembra un sogno rivederti, accarezzarti
Le tue mani fra le mani stringere ancor'
I-Il mio mondo, tutto il mondo sei per me
A nessuna voglio bene come a te
Ogni giorno, ogni istante dolcemente ti dirò:
A nessuna voglio bene come a te
Ogni giorno, ogni istante dolcemente ti dirò:
I have often walked down this street before
But the pavement always stayed beneath my feet before
All at once, am I several stories high?
Knowing I'm on the street where you live
Are there lilac trees in the heart of town?
Can you hear a lark in any other part of town?
Does enchantment pour out of every door?
No, it's just on the street where you live
And oh, the towering feeling
Just to know somehow you are near
The over powering feeling
That any second you may suddenly appear
People stop and stare, they don't bother me
For there's nowhere else on earth that I would rather be
Let the time go by, I won't care if I
Can be here on the street where you live
People stop and stare, they don't bother me
For there's nowhere else on earth that I would rather be
Let the time go by, I won't care if I
Can be here on the street where you live
Can be here on the street where you live
The First Noel
The first Noel the angel did say, was to certain poor shepherds
in fields where they lay; in fields where they lay keeping their sheep
On a cold winter's night That was so deep.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, Born is the King of Israel.
They looked up and saw a star, shining in the east beyond them far.
And to the earth , it gave great light,
And so it continued both day and night.
More than you know, more than you know Girl of my heart I love you so Lately I find you're on my mind More than you know
Whether you're right, whether you're wrong Girl of my heart, I'll string along I need you so More than you'll ever know
Loving you the way that I do There's nothing I can do about it Loving may be all you can give But, honey, I can't live without it
Oh, how I'd cry, oh how I'd cry If you got tired and said Goodbye More than I'd show More than you'll ever know
Dawn's promising skies Petals on a pool drifting Imagine these in one pair of eyes And this is my beloved
Strange spice from the south Honey through the comb sifting Imagine these in one eager mouth And this is my beloved
And when s/he speaks and when s/he talks to me Music! Mystery! And when s/he moves And when s/he walks with me Paradise comes suddenly near
All that can stir All that can stun All that's for the heart's lifting Imagine these in one perfect one
Joy to the world, the Lord is come! Let earth receive her King; Let every heart prepare Him room, And heaven and nature sing, And heaven and nature sing, And heaven, and heaven, and nature sing.
Joy to the world, the Savior reigns! Let men their songs employ; While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.
No more let sins and sorrows grow, Nor thorns infest the ground; He comes to make His blessings flow Far as the curse is found, Far as the curse is found, Far as, far as, the curse is found.
The hours I spent with Thee, Dear Heart! Are as a string of pearls to me, I count them over, every one apart, My rosary, my rosary . . .
Each hour a pearl, each pearl a prayer, To still a heart in absence wrung, I tell each bead unto the end, And there a cross is hung . . .
You came, I was alone I should have known You were temptation
You sigh, leading me on I should have known You were temptation
It would be thrilling If you were willing But if it can never be Well, then pity me
You were born to be kissed I can't resist You are temptation
Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling From glen to glen, and down the mountain side The summer's gone, and all the roses falling It's you, it's you, must go and I must bide.
But come ye back when summer's in the meadow Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow 'Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so.
But when ye come, and all the flowers are dying If I am dead, as dead I well may be You'll come and find the place where I am lying And kneel and say an "Ave" there for me.
Look for the silver lining When e'er a cloud appears in the blue. Remember some where the sun is shining, And so the right thing to do, Is make it shine for you.
When you walk through a storm Hold your head up high And don't be afraid of the dark. At the end of the storm There's a golden sky And the sweet, silver song of a lark.
Walk on, through the wind, Walk on, through the rain, Though your dreams be tossed and blown. Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart, And you'll never walk alone, You'll never walk alone
There's an old Italian phrase It's an old Italian craze Every little bambina learns it the very first day Ev'ry sweet Signorina Says it the very same way
These funny little words don't really mean a thing It's just a phrase that now-a-days Italians love to sing
Cosi Cosa! It's a wonderful word Tra la la la When anyone asks you how you are It's proper to say Cosi Cosa Cosi Cosa!
We three kings of orient are Bearing gifts we traverse afar Field and fountain Moor and mountain Following yonder star
O star of wonder, star of night Star with royal beauty bright Westward leading, still proceeding Guide us to thy perfect light
Born a King on Bethlehem's plain Gold I bring to crown Him again King for ever, ceasing never Over us all to reign
O star of wonder, star of night Star with royal beauty bright Westward leading, still proceeding Guide us to thy perfect light
Frankincense to offer have I Incense owns a Deity nigh Prayer and praising All men raising Worship Him, God most high
O star of wonder, star of night Star with royal beauty bright Westward leading, still proceeding Guide us to thy perfect light
Myrrh is mine It's bitter perfume breathes A life of gathering gloom Sorrowing, sighing, bleeding, dying Sealed in the stone cold tomb
O star of wonder, star of night Star with royal beauty bright Westward leading, still proceeding Guide us to thy perfect light
Glorious now behold Him arise King and God and Sacrifice Al-le-lu-ia, al-le-lu-ia Heaven to earth replies
God rest you merry, gentlemen,
Let nothing you dismay,
Remember Christ our Savior
Was born on Christmas Day;
To save us all from Satan's power
When we were gone astray.
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy,
I wonder why you keep me waiting Charmaine (My Charmaine) Cries in vain (Cries in vain) I wonder when bluebirds are mating Will you come back again And I wonder if I keep on praying Will our dreams be the same (Be the same) I wonder if ever you think of me too I'm waiting, my Charmaine, for you
1. It came upon the midnight clear, that glorious song of old, from angels bending near the earth to touch their harps of gold: "Peace on the earth, good will to men, from heaven's all-gracious King." The world in solemn stillness lay, to hear the angels sing.
2. Still through the cloven skies they come with peaceful wings unfurled, and still their heavenly music floats o'er all the weary world; above its sad and lowly plains, they bend on hovering wing, and ever o'er its Babel sounds the blessed angels sing.
3. And ye, beneath life's crushing load, whose forms are bending low, who toil along the climbing way with painful steps and slow, look now! for glad and golden hours come swiftly on the wing. O rest beside the weary road, and hear the angels sing!
LOVE CAME TO ME,
GAY AND TENDER,
LOVE CAME TO ME,
SWEET SURRENDER;
LOVE CAME TO ME
IN BRIGHT ROMANTIC SPLENDOR.
FICKLE WAS SHE,
FAITHFUL NEVER;
FICKLE WAS SHE
AND CLEVER,
SO WILL IT BE FOREVER,
FOREVER,
[Chorus]:
SOFTLY, AS IN A MORNING SUNRISE,
THE LIGHT OF LOVE COMES STEALING
INTO A NEW BORN DAY, OH!
FLAMING WITH ALL THE GLOW OF SUNRISE,
A BURNING KISS IS SEALING
THE VOW THAT ALL WILL BETRAY.
FOR THE PASSIONS THAT THRILL LOVE
AND LIFT YOU HIGH TO HEAVEN,
ARE THE PASSIONS THAT KILL LOVE
AND LET YOU FALL TO HELL!
SO ENDS EACH STORY.
SOFTLY, AS IN AN EVENING SUNSET,
THE LIGHT THAT GAVE YOU GLORY
Yeah, its been a long time coming Never thought it'd take so long I stood still but time kept running Time has made me strong
Time is been a long time waiting Waiting for this day to come And time don't wait so I keep singing
Yeah, its been a long time coming Never thought it'd take so long I would, I stood still and time kept running And time has made me strong
Reach the city steps tonight Following the power lines
Met a man barside With eclipses for eyes And you tell yourself you wont let them touch Did I say too much did I say enough I don't know Sylvia I don't know Sylvia
Circle round the room still Breaking my will
Know I can't have you here Someone else on your skin
And it's all my fault for not getting off And you made it start, can you make it stop? You don't know Sylvia You don't know Sylvia
Daamn Daamn
Reach the city steps tonight Following the power lines
O Holy night, the stars are brightly shining It is the night of our dear Savior's birth Long lay the world in sin and error pining Till He appeared and the soul felt it's worth A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn Fall on your knees
O hear the angel voices O night divine! O night when Christ was born O night divine! O night, O night divine!
[Truly He taught us to love one another His law is love and His gospel is peace Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother]
And in His Name, all oppression shall cease Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we Let all within us praise his holy name Christ is the Lord! Their name forever praise we
I touch your hand And my heart goes strong, Like a pair of birds That burst with song. My eyes look down At your lovely face, And I hold a world In my embrace!
Younger than springtime, are you Softer than starlight, are you, Warmer than winds of June, Are the gentle lips you gave me. Gayer than laughter, are you, Sweeter than music, are you, Angel and lover, heaven and earth, Are you to me!
And when your youth And joy invade my arms, And fill my heart as now they do, Then younger than springtime, am I, Gayer than laughter, am I, Angel and lover, heaven and earth, Am I with you!
And still the snowy Himalayas rise in ancient majesty before our eyes beyond the plain, above the pines. While through the ever neverchanging land, as silently as any native band that moves at night, the Ganghi shines.
Then I hear the song that only India can sing; softer than the plumage on a black raven's wing. High upon a minaret I stand and gaze across the desert sand upon an old enchanted land
Then the Maharaja's caravan unfolding like a painted band. How small the little race of man. See them all parade across the ages. Armies, kings and slaves from history's pages laid on one of nature's vastest stages.
The servants, thieves and beggers line the streets while holy men in shadow's calm retreats pray through the night and watch the skies. A lonely plane flies off to meet the dawn while down below the busy life goes on and women crowd the old bazaar.
