10 minutes after the meet seen in the 'Tip Of The Iceberg' clip, an even busier scene unfolded as 6 trains (counting light helpers) passed in the space of about 25 minutes; so close together that only one camera stop was needed. The action began as a westbound doublestack rounded the curve beyond MO Interlocking behind a trio of 'catfish' - Norfolk Southern C40-9Ws 9285, 8990, and cleaner sister 9272. As the last cars left the scene, they revealed an eastbound manifest with a couple of rare locomotives at the rear of the lashup - C40-9W 9765, SD60I 6750, SD45-2 1703 (ex-Erie Lackawanna, one of only 6 on the NS roster), and GP59 4616 (one of 35). The eastbound took a little while to clear, possibly due to a combination of the eastbound doublestack seen earlier and the E8-led excursions that were turning on the balloon track at AR Tower. The tail-end tank cars on the eastbound passed just as SD40Es 6303 and 6311 sailed by in the other direction. The pair escaped the reach of the camera's zoom as yet another eastbound appeared on the same track as the first, led by C40-8W 8400 still wearing Conrail paint. The tail of the first eastbound was still in sight, so the 8400 and friends had to pause at the signal - the only point in the sequence where I stopped the camera. The second eastbound got moving again after a few minutes' wait and a long look at a large string of hazmat tank cars in the consist. The end of the second eastbound finally came into view, with its SD40E helpers following close behind. As the helpers got closer, westbound SD40-2s 3374 and 3344 briefly stole the scene, saluting the crowd that had gathered further down from where I stood. The sequence wrapped up as cleaned-and-pressed 6302 and 6309 walked slowly past, and the eastbound they had just helped up the West Slope continued on its way.
