A pilgrim (from the Latin peregrinus) is a traveler (literally one who has come from afar) who is on a journey to a holy place. Typically, this is a physical journeying (often on foot) to some place of special significance to the adherent of a particular religious belief system. In the spiritual literature of Christianity, the concept of pilgrim and pilgrimage may refer to the experience of life in the world (considered as a period of exile) or to the inner path of the spiritual aspirant from a state of wretchedness to a state of beatitude.
Pilgrims and the making of pilgrimages are common in many religions, including the faiths in ancient Egypt, Persia in the Mithraic period, India, China, and Japan. The Greek and Roman customs of consulting the gods at local oracles, such as those at Dodona or Delphi, both in Greece, are widely known. In Greece, pilgrimages could either be personal or state-sponsored.
In the early period of Hebrew history, pilgrims traveled to Shiloh, Dan, Bethel, and eventually Jerusalem, see also Three Pilgrimage Festivals, a practice followed by other Abrahamic religions. While many religious pilgrims travel toward a specific destination, a physical location is not a necessity. One group of pilgrims in early Celtic Christianity were the Peregrinari Pro Christ, (Pilgrims for Christ), or "white martyrs". They left their homes to wander in the world. This sort of pilgrimage was an ascetic religious practice, as the pilgrim left the security of home and the clan for an unknown destination, in complete trust of Divine Providence. These travels often resulted in the founding of new abbeys and spreading Christianity among the pagan population in Britain as well as in continental Europe.

Plot
As usual, Casper, the Friendly Ghost, is out to make friends but the only creature willing to respond is a fat turkey worrying his wattles off about the upcoming Thanksgiving Day. Casper does all he can do to get his friend to go on a diet and lose weight but the turkey keeps eating and getting fatter. Thanksgiving arrives and here comes Farmer Jones, axe in hand, ready to execute the main course of his holiday dinner. But the farmer sees Casper and flees in panic, so Casper has a new friend...at least until next Thanksgiving.

Black cat crossed our path on little fog feet
There's crows flying beside my window
We left superstition on the roadside a few cities ago
They spent our souls, maybe, but they didn't take our smiles
We listen, we shake, the radio
There's a sweet corn princess smiling through the words on the glass
Remember we stopped for tamales last time?
But now the lights from the town are fading with radio
There's another song playing, and we can hear it in the wind outside
We listen, Pilgrims
We shake, to the radio
We listen, to the radio
Little black kitty crossed our path wearing little fog feet
And the crows they're just drifters through my window
The late night city's lights are growing sharper
And I hear another song, I see it pouring from the look in your eyes
We listen,
We shake, to the radio
Sometimes you feel so far away,
distanced from all the action of the play,
unable to grasp significance,
marking the plot with diffident dismay,
stranded at centre stage,
scrabbling through your diary for a lost page:
unsure of the dream.
Kicking a stone across the beach,
aching for love and comfort out of reach:
the way ahead seems to be so bleak,
there's no-one with any friendship left to speak
or show any relation
between your present and future situations...
lost to the dream.
Away, away, away--look to the future day
for hope, some form of peace
within the growing storm.
I climb through the evening,
alive and believing
in time we shall all know our goals
and so, finally, home;
for now, all is secret -
though how could I speak it,
allow me the dream in my eye!
I've been waiting for such a long time
just to see it at last, all of the hands tightly clasped,
all of us pilgrims.
Walking in silence down the coast,
merely to journey - here hope is the most,
merely to know there is an end;
all of us - lovers, brothers, sisters, friends
hand in hand.
Shining footprints on the wet sand
lead to the dream.
The time has come, the tide has almost run
and drained the deep: I rise from lifelong sleep.
It seems such a long time
I've dreamed but now, awake,
I can see we are pilgrims and so
must walk this road,
unknown in our purpose,
alone, but not worthless,
and home ever calling us on.
We've been waiting here for so long,
all of our hands joined in hope,
holding the weight on the rope
Allright we came to dance and sing
We all are pilgrims of love
No one can tell us what to do
Free as the birds high above
The only law that we respect
Is called humanity
Free as the birds and wild as the sea
Open your heart and your mind
Tonight we have the chance
When we dance around the fire
Dancing round and clapping hands
We all are different, but the same
All of us can be friends
Tonight we dance the dance
Tonight we dance the dance, don` t fight
No violence, all right, come dance the dance tonight
Tonight we dance the dance, inside
More tolerance, allright, come dance the dance
Don` t fight tonight
Allright we came to dance and sing
We all are pilgrims of love
No one can tell us what to do
Free as the birds high above
The only law that we respect
Is called humanity
Free as the birds and wild as the sea
Open your heart and your mind
Tonight we have the chance
When we dance around the fire
Dancing round and clapping hands
We all are different, but the same
All of us can be friends
Tonight we dance the dance
art deco and a little off the wall
it's the service that you wouldn't want to call
Pilgrim Fathers like to wonder
beat the path that makes the heart grow fonder
come and see the bags are heavy
we are waiting for the bell boy to return
stunning vistas to the left and to the right
it's the goosey in the bucket on the bike
Pilgrim Fathers like to wonder
beat the path that makes the heart grow fonder
come and see the bags are heavy
we are waiting for the bell boy to return
outposted, unattended for a while
horsetrading like it's going out of style
Pilgrim Fathers like to wonder
beat the path that makes the heart grow fonder
Pilgrim Fathers like to wonder
beat the path that makes the heart grow fonder
Pilgrim Fathers like to wonder
beat the path that makes the heart grow fonder
Pilgrim Fathers like to wonder
Stand up my friend
We're heading out to the western lands
Out towards the sacred isle of Avalon
Come walk with me
Time is short and the road is long
The road that leads to the sacred isle of Avalon
Hold out your hand
I will show you a land full of promise
Remember Finn McCool, Brendan, Bran And Maeldun
They've gone before us to the shores of Avalon
So come take my hand
I will show you a land full of promise
Take heed as you go
There's many danger, fiend and foe
Waiting for us on the road of Avalon
And do not step aside
No matter what temptation lies
In waiting for us on the road of Avalon
Hold out your hand
I was walking down
the road of broken dreams
where leaves piled up
to fom a lonely hill
street signs hanging
with names of people
long forgotten by the living
some things were never meant
I was walking down
the road of broken dreams
and came an old man saying
there's a way outta here
"walk after, go after, run after
where the children play"
and then i understood
oh... oh... ohhhh
it's somewhere
Every way is gone
and i'm out here on my own
and life's saying never
to dreams that i never knew
and all that i can see
are birds that are so free
while they fly
And i lay down
while i pray that there could be
another view of seeing things
and remember the old man saying
"walk after, go after, run after
where the children play"
amd i shook my head
oh... oh... ohhhh
Stand up my friend
We're heading out to the western lands
Out towards the sacred isle of Avalon
Come walk with me
Time is short and the road is long
The road that leads to the sacred isle of Avalon
Hold out your hand
I will show you a land full of promise
