When I look you in your eyes I can see my own
Straight love manifested in flesh and bone
You's a breath of fresh air in this world of shit
You was born to be a soldier don't ever forget
Hit back when hit
Use force that's effective
All these bitches and women
Son, please be selective
This is California can't stick your dick in everything
We will survive necessarily by any means
Let no man ever hold you down or supress you
It's the 90's the police just arrest you,
disrespect you on occasion take life
By the time you come of age they'll probably blast on sight
It's a shame they protect them but try to serve us
When your neck is on the line stand ground then bust
In God we trust but just incase keep it loaded and locked
Ready to rock
Then shake the spot
The Foundation
You came from a long line of killers and drug dealers
Who forever smoke bud
So it's probably in your blood
Realize you can only run the streets so long
Then the streets run you into the ground then gone
It's kinda ruff trying to teach you what's right from wrong
Same shit different day
It's the same ol' song
If the time ever comes that I meet my match
Take control of my assets
Fuck startin' from scratch
Take care of your mother
Keep yourself on track
Just cause niggas get behind you don't mean they got your back
Beware of the serpent
Cause there's a time in life the mothafucker will strike
And try to make you loose sight
Don't be a fake mothafucker tryin' to keep shit real
Fill cassettes with idle threats with no guts to kill
Son if you ever pull heat
Then use it
If you got a chance to walk away
Then do it
Total domination takes full concentration in all situations
A solid foundation
You are the foundation
Begining of a new generation
I remember hospital hallway pacin'
I was anxious as fuck to see your face shine
Only to find that yours looked like mine
So it's like I'm livin' twice at the exact same time
In this life you can't press stop
Then press rewind
Gotta live to the fullest never follow behind no man
Have your own plan, expand your mind
Ain't no paper thin game to raise wannabe thugs
This is nothing but love
Via sattelite Muggs
Take heed when it's your turn to bring new life
Make sure it's the woman you gonna make your wife
Be prepared for the worst
But expect the best
No matter where life takes you
Come home to the West
Survival takes more than just gats and guns
That's words to live by
From a father to a son
Glorious be to the most high, Jah, Rastafari

[Ice-T and Chris Rock in "New Jack City":]
Yo check this out homeboy
God's on your side right? So why don't you do this, reasonable
14K, bow, pzzshw, I'm Audi
(You wanna do this direct or not man? 17 man)
(Yo lemme see the money, lemme see the money)
(Whassup, whassup, whassup, whassup?)
Yeah c'mon let's do this man [unzips bag]
What'chu know about that homeboy?
[Intro: M.O.P.]
We, made it easy to trace it, we back with the basics
It's hard to replace it - you know exactly what it is
[Billy Danze:]
Uhh M DOT, O DOT, we still hard with it
Yo' block, his block, we still armed with it
While y'all stopped hip-hop, we moved on with it
Got it on with it, spit it and rung alarms with it
And nowadays I've aged, so I'm calm with it
But I'm the reason Flex started droppin them bombs with it
Up by the club love thugs that's war with it
While the homies in the hood decided to go on, get it
And no, I ain't change lanes on you lil' dudes
I just upgraded my game on you lil' dudes
FOUNDATION - a whole different set of rules
Premeditation you facin predicates fool
You better be cool, I give you the WOMP WOMP
I go in the glove box and WOMP WOMP your top
[Chorus: M.O.P.]
We, made it easy to trace it, we back with the basics
It's hard to replace it - you know exactly what it is
(FOR THE FOUNDATION!) We suffered blood sweat and tears
And cleared all complications
Put it down, in many situations
Yes kid, you are the last generation
So for the continuation
We, do what we do for the next generation
We, made it easy to trace it, we back with the basics
It's hard to replace it - you know exactly what it is
[Lil' Fame:]
Run 'em down, gun 'em down, it's crazy when we come around
Insane from the underground, 200 and somethin pounds
You know my motto, both arms covered with body art
Don't catch a hollow, we keep arms, fuck a bodyguard
Let me remind you, how I do
If you think I'm just spittin a rhyme nigga you sick as the swine flu
Cause this ain't rap dummy, you get your fuckin face clapped
And they gon' have to fix yo' face back with putty (BOOM)
Get it ugly (BOOM) we do it 3-6-5
"Day 'N Nite" but I ain't Kid Cudi, it's
M.O.! Spittin devious thoughts, I'm from where niggaz
Around house kicked your moms, snatched her beads and her cross
Where they hustle hard, tryin to get the keys to the Porsche
Just some of them young boys do it for no reason at all cause
[Chorus]
[Outro x4: singers]
We keep flippin it, we still bringin it
You be lovin what we do
[M.O.P.:]
We, made it easy to trace it, we back with the basics
Intro: Grand Puba
Brand Nubian baby, here to flip it again
And you know it don't stop until the party ends
So get your hands up high, if you feel me reply
Cos you know these brothers here we keep it extra tight
Verse One: Lord Jamar
Look, listen and observe, it took precision to connect
The words of dialect within a rhythm you never heard
Forbidden fruit, take a bite, you could lose your life
like how they crucified Christ Musa's hair was white
Lord Jamar, Sadat X and Puba's here tonight
We got next on the court, I don't know what you thought
This flow can't be bought, only sold in exchange
for platinum ang gold, you've been told, open up the manifold
Only to reveal scrolls and scrolls
Premeditated to be dedicated to lost souls
Properly educated, never sloppily operated
Playing the beats for all my people incarcerated
We stay in the streets and find new ways to eat
Crime wave, I remember wetting my feet
in my blind days, now these niggas getting they heat
from under they seat, I wonder when the guns'll deplete
Chorus: Grand Puba
Brand Nubian brothers here to flip it again
And you know we don't stop until your party ends
So get your hands up high, if you feel me reply
Cos you know these brothers here, we keep it extra tight
The Foundation, as we hitcha with a Brand Nu creation
New millennium we don't mess around
Do the knowledge as we blaze the situation, so just feel me now
Verse Two: Sadat X
I'm in a rush, who got the keys to my truck?
Who am I? I just might be a spy
I drop a tear at the sight of the blue NY
I'm a threat just like Garnette
Pick a player out my set like Marbury
Serve me sherry with a cherry
I always eat what you think
I ain't got no shoes on my feet, I'm from down the street, huh
Now cats ride around New York with the slick hot rods
Some late model usually pushing full throttle
Hanging illegal U's and staying with the gleaming shoes
Riding one deep but back to back to back
Fuck a buzz, it's gonna happen just because
Sure I was with her was, but I don't know what she does
Big dimes hit me everytime like it's a crime
My prime will steadily climb
Yeah, I can't release nothing to y'all before it's time
Chorus
Verse Three: Grand Puba
Now my verbal illustration graphic more than Playstation
Microphone occupation operation save the nation
Black crusader, persuader, educator
Knowledge detonator none greater
Leave haters stuck like a project elevator
Always jammin it airtight like a laminate
You can't contaminate it
Go-getters we be superb like Justin's catfish fritters
Now I got 2000 flows, only 4 less than all of my hoes (*Hey!*)
Oops I mean my bro's but I'm just keeping y'all on your toes
Excitement for your enlightenment, spitting novels, getting bravos
Tear it up like El Nino, keeping it hotter than jalapenos
Microphone holder doing more damage than rolling boulders
Rhyme style should've fooled ya, knocked your head right off your
shoulders
See my intention, black-on-black prevention, break the tension
Teach the seeds, tell them what they need and then collect my pension
Brand Nubian, baby, born more flows than a test tube valve
Your radio ain't really on if Brand Nubian ain't on your dial
Outro: Grand Puba
Yeah, as we do it like this
2000, Brand Nubian comin atcha one time
Hello, this is me to you
It's better now we're comin' through
And I don't really know just who we are
I'll stay here till my love's full up
So stir this cocktail, shake me up
Drink me down and take me from the bar
We'll build a foundation
Build a foundation
Build a foundation
You know we got to build, build it up
Spent the night in Tumbledown
A hundred miles from west of town
Plans were laid, no compromise was made
Gently up to meet the blue
Left a note and signed it "True"
Those construction games were all we played
We'll build a foundation
Build a foundation
Build a foundation
Yeah we're gonna build, build it up
Oh, I know you're gonna give your best
So more or less, gotta put it to the test
Don't you know, you've got the whole world in your hands
Surrender up and lay down your arms
The fightin' hurts but the lovin' calms
Oh, I know you've got the whole world in your hands
We'll build a foundation
Build a foundation
Build a foundation
You know we got to build, build it up
We'll build a foundation
Build a foundation, build it up
Build a foundation, build it up
You know we got to build
[Instrumental]
Inside my mind where thoughts reside
my point of view, my life, nothing can change
my fight for what I know is right.
I will fall to my knees a humble servant,
my spirit is willing but my flesh is weak.
Weak against the pressures of this world
which drag me down and shove my face in my mistakes.
To let me know that I can break,
break but never break apart. For no one could ever
change my heart.
Trials, tests of faith to challenge your beliefs
to test if your stand is weak,
never shame to stand up for your cause
Reaching out again might take more than I have
Blinded by resentment and tortured by regret
Drowning within memories I'd do anything to forget
What I said and what it meant
If I could I'd take it back
What I said and what it means
If I could I'd take it back
Reaching out again might take more than I have
Blinded by resentment and tortured by regret
Drowning within memories I'd do anything to forget
But what I've learned and how I've bled
Won't make me restrain myself again
Yo, yo, yo ..
Chorus: [Diamond D]
We love the foundation, time to lock shit
Ladies look no more we got this
D.I.T.C. spits the hot shit
And while you busy poppin' shit we're poppin' Cris
Ain't no stoppin' this like, ?
See it's all laced out wearing rocks and shit
On the set niggas start to cockglocking shit
Hating when we come through ya metropolis
[Dimaond D]
I like the finer things in life, rings and bikes
Expensive whips, first-class trips
Seven days cruises, honey don't trip
Excel class if ya heard room fit
Platinum cars, givin' no credit to me
Tiffany labs, ?
H-class minerals with no floors in it
Be one two, with the windows all tinnit
And I be all in it, for Tommy Hil' send it
Everything is paid for, mami not rent it
Two albums deep, it's all documented
Y'all little monkeys gon' see in a minute
Look, G-O-L-D in a minute
'Bout to double that, in the Benz bubble black, hata !
It's Di-a-mond D on ya set
Throwin' all G's and charge a jet
[ O.C. ]
I'm doin' time in the rap game
Sorta like a beered up North all one and the same
My slang keep comin' steady num in ya brain
Like substers abusin' lies for cocaine
I get ya open, my stuff be pokin'
Two pulls a past for three niggaz smoking
It's no joking when it comes to this
On occasion I might pop a bottle of Cris'
With a wrist full of ice on the bracelet
Trade rhymes in for cash, money I stash
For the future, treat more wis' than Peter Luger
For lyrical fitness I train with ?Luke Luva?
Incorporate lyrical bust with fist to custwit style for a million bucks
For this I got love, not lust
If I lay her down with no fear than it means I wanna fuck!
[ CHORUS ]
[A.G.]
My flow, be sicker than yours
Hoes, bounce gimme some mo'
Wanna rap with me? Then gimme some dough
Wanna track from me? Then gimme some dough
I sport those type of flows that excite the hoes
That's my ice that roll and light the dro'
Love is love, y'all niggas gettin' sheisht with yours
Diamond beats hittin' harder than Tyson blows
I might explode, once I grab the mic and blow
Claim you don't like the flow, when you want to bite the flow
Pop bubbly, catch me in the club playin' Bugsy
Get Dirty like ?, it could get ugly
I rock mines and cop top of the line cars
Then charge you twentie-thou', only drop nine bars
Slight the tight men, cop about nine jars
To trig or tone come home while we rap when you behind bars
[Lord Finesse]
Niggas is finito, when my and my peeps blow
Name it the game, stack dough and keep blow, fo' sho
We straight, better see yaselfves
We seein' more chips than the ?
On a club night we hillin', watching the thugs fight
Iced out, nigga shining like flug-lights
Rolling with grimy niggas, dirty like mud-fights
Throwing it up, while you sipping on Bud-Light
Steady balling, why you stop the thing
Blind you with rocks and links, make ya drop ya drink
On some slick shit, dress-up dip shit
Floors with rocks and stones you don't mind getting hit with
Don't sleep, me and my crew's deep
Whether in the air, on four wheels or two feet
Salute the new chiefs and the feel we stay thirst
Fuck freestylin; nowadays you pay first
A rock¹s thrown out from the back of the house
A little girl steps out of the shadows
The furrow in her brow belongs to an older mind
and when she's asked she says everything's just fine
The thoughts run through her mind quicker than the hands of time
and even quicker than her father's
Eyes burn bleeding wide, confusion seeps from deep inside
And when she's asked she says everything's just fine
Everything's just fine
No different from the day she was born
No different from any other
Everything seemed perfectly fine in her world
cause she never knew any other
How heavy is the heart that knows no other love
that sees pain as part of the offer
Somehow deserving now and somehow the cause
so on and on it goes
Everything's just fine
Everything's just fine
She says everything's just fine
Everythings just
Hey (yes)
Ooh (yes)
Check this out
Here we go, c'mon
Feels like I just bought a million dollar home on the beach
And a wave just came and washed it away
Feels like I just bought a Maybach with cream leather seats
Only to watch another dude drive it away
It's like at halftime watching me just before the buzzer goes off
And the ref just says it don't count at all
I know it's my fault
If I coulda rewind and do it all over again
Hey, you'd still be my lady
You that real is they talk about (this is it)
When you're real young and you eavesdrop on the grown folks convo
You know that regret that got me down (this is it, deal with it)
I'm a try but it's hard without my shawty around
[Chorus:]
You are my strong foundation (yes)
C.E.O. of my heart foundation (yes)
Without you, don't think I'm gon make it (yes)
Here I am, here I stand
Baby, now I got a plan
Just be my strong foundation (yes)
President of my heart's foundation (yes)
Without you, don't think I'm gon make it (yes)
Here I am, with these hands
Wanna build a strong foundation
Now that you see I'm sincere
Baby, will you give me a chance?
(These are my true colors)
(Nothing else another color)
Nothing but honesty, baby
That's what you got standing here, yeah (yes)
From now on it's 50/50 (famous keep before)
Don't gotta worry bout a thing
When you're with me, no (girl, just put your feet up)
Cause I, I get it now
If I don't put it down
Some guy might come around
And take my crown now
[Chorus]
Oh, I've tried without you but I can't let you go
I'm better off with you next to me
I'm do the part of love is learning to let it go
But without you here, now all I can see is
Oh, oh [x5]
All I can see is
Oh, oh [x5]
Won't you be...
[Chorus]
Life served me a verdict with an open hand. Full force across my face, then
Walked away.
Please don't leave me in this dark place, cause I don't know how much
Longer I can fight back these tears or keep from driving my fists through
The walls I swear are closing in.
Sentenced myself with the selfish things I say, promises I break, and the
Way I refuse to let anyone in. Please let me make my amends. I'll do
Anything. Anything.
Just don't leave me in this dark place.
Begging, pleading, down on my knees, asking for redemption.
So dig in your nails as I push you away.
Let me make my amends for always keeping you at arms length.
Let me apologize for every wrong I have yet to right.
You are the blood in my veins, my strength, so please don't leave me in
This dark place.
Please give me just one more chance.
Just one more chance.
Fucked hope, what can I do? I'm trying so hard to get to you.
But you refuse to hear a single word of truth.
But every lie they swore as true falls like music to your ears.
How can we live our lives so unaware?
How can we love if we are so fucking scared?
And my only regret is I once played the same dreadful tune.
You sing the same songs your parents sang about their unflinching devotion
To everything. Everything sick and wrong with yesterday and today.
They broke you down and stole everything, and you openly embraced that this
Life was not your very own.
False hope is all they'll give to you.
Best years is what they'll take from you.
You were robbed, how long will it be before you see?
All the skinned knees you should have felt,
A thousand ways to break free, but you won't.
So keep carrying your father's cross and living your mother's dreams,
Never getting to express a voice you can make.
You were never there, never there for yourself.
Never there for yourself.
Calloused, my armor's not what it used to be.
Scratched and dented, the outside resembles what's within.
I spend so much time staring back at myself.
If the boy I was saw the man I've become, he'd spit right in his face.
The scales have tipped against me one more time,
but the panic comes in a hush and a sigh, not a scream or cry.
The scales have tipped against me for the final time.
I've wasted so much time waiting for a tragedy,
or a miracle to reveal itself that the world has passed me by.
Convinced myself I'm sick for so long now that I'm not so sure I can stop
believing it.
Gotta lift my head from these calloused hands that serve to remind me of my
regrets.
Gotta lift my head from these calloused hands so I can see the good in
what's going on.
Don't wanna waste anymore ink on this page, or strokes of the keys.
Not one more hammer to spell out this quiet rage.
No, my armor's not what it used to be.
But what in life still is?
Don't ask me why. The reasons couldn't be any more apparent from the
Children born into addictions from the conscience their mothers lacked.
Kidnapped from their minds by a substance made to corrupt and destroy,
Leaving any will they once had splintered shards on the floor.
And I'm the one who's crazy? Something here has got to give.
I'm the one who's crazy? When will this insanity end?
How many more reasons do you need as a person makes violence their only
Means,
Gunning down for the money to silence the hunger in their veins.
And I'm the one who's crazy? Something here has to give.
I'm the one who's crazy? When will this insanity end?
It's all too clear as another person sells themselves to feed the monster
That keeps them on their knees.
And you think I'm the one who's crazy?
Don't ask me why. Just take a long fucking look around.
See the sickness born from this, their human qualities have now been
Stripped, and your future thrown away.
And your future thrown away. Threw it all away.
We find ourselves in simple ways,
But falling victim to the simple things.
Every question brings,
Every answer makes another,
And coming clean we're finding one another.
We're falling to our knees.
Breaking pieces left from these,
Falling victims - Falling down,
We find ourselves alone in every crowd.
Let the rest linger,
'Til i fall from the bottom,
Falling down my skates today.
We find ourselves in simple ways,
But falling victim to the simple things.
Every question brings,
Every answer makes another,
Welcome to the new day,
New songs left to sing.
We're falling to our knees.
Breaking pieces left from these,
Falling victims - Falling down,
We find ourselves alone in every crowd.
Find ourselves in simple ways.
Falling victim to the thing simple things
Every question brings,
Every answer makes another,
Come and claim,
find it in one another.
I let the rest linger.
I fell from the bottom.
Falling down my skates today.
We're falling to our knees.
Breaking pieces left from these,
Falling victims - Falling down,
We find ourselves alone in every crowd.
I pray that hand of yours gets cut right from your wrist,
As you cast out your arm and turn down your thumb.
It's so easy to pass out judgement when you take no fucking risks.
Don't need the approval of someone who spits poison every time they speak.
Venom rolls off your tongue, and between your teeth.
But your words don't mean a thing. (They've never meant a thing to me)
Cause you have never loved anything more than yourself.
And there is nothing, I said nothing, nothing,
So righteous, noble and good that your ego could not devour in a fucking
Heartbeat.
Hear the sound of your chest thump.
I pray that hand of yours get hacked right off your wrist.
Sliced through like a god damn hammer, hope the pain drops you to your
Fucking knees cause if you can't stand then you can't stomp on these
Dreams.
I've seen your kind. You're all the same.
Hanging on by a thread, I pull myself back up.
Cause I'll be god damned if this is the rope from which I hang myself.
In desperate times we live by desperate means.
We put our love and faith and sanity into anyone, even the unseen.
As long as it will make us feel good, whole and complete.
We'll put our trust into anything, if it takes away this uncertainty.
The problems go unfixed.
The anger goes unchecked.
The emptiness goes unfed.
The devotion remains to what will undo us.
In desperate times we live by desperate means.
Though I can't blame you for doing the same.
So here's your choice: the truth or the end of a rope.
I've never seen someone so scared of death pick a point, lay down and die.
The problems go unfixed.
The anger goes unchecked.
The emptiness goes unfed.
All this devotion remains to what will undo us.
"Remember what I said about seeing a light when you're dying?" "Yeah" "That
Ain't true. I can't see a damn thing."
Get your rope.
"As soon as the rain stops, I'm gonna make an example of you."
Just shut the door when you choose to leave.
I don't wanna feel any colder than I already do.
And no amount of wind is gonna move this rock.
If you were looking for me to let you in, that's a thought you can forget.
I don't care what they say, the sun will shine another day.
I've weathered too much to walk away.
I know it's not the worst thing to happen in my life.
My fears are starting to pour down on me. Now I don't know what to believe.
Feels like I'm losing my mind, like I'm losing everything.
Like my body is a prison I can't escape.
This is the sadness only loneliness can bestow.
Pick up the pieces of your broken soul.
Weld them to your bones.
Weld them to your fucking bones.
Anger floods the streets. I stand knee deep.
I can't remember the last time I felt the sun fresh against my face.
Keep moving on. I will not drown.
I'm not about to walk away, but let me ask you:
Blindsided but you won't walk away,
We all change - you know that i'll stay the same
You've played a new face, a new game,
But still we've all seen better days.
So look around,
Fallen off again,
Hear two sides still you never understand,
There's two sides to every story they say,
But a little bit of heartache won't change.
And it's killing me.
We're untouchable, teen idols,
Working class, heros left along the way.
It's a sign of the times,
the times, they're killing me.
Frustration, Salvation,
Too much destruction coming over me.
It's a sign of the times,
the times, they're killing me.
Redhanded but you won't wash away,
We all change - you know that i'll stay the same
You've played a new face, a new game,
Who threw up the white flag when the bodies grew too great? Felt the harsh
Grip of failure and sent it sailing high.
What happened to the code of honor we used to entrust? Ideas once carved in
Stone have now turned to dust.
Where is the oath we swore our allegiance to? Convictions cheapened by all
The noise these boys make while dressed like men.
When's the pure disgust gonna rear it's ugly head? Stirred by anyone,
Everything, tries to crumble what we've built.
Why have I been so blind to the traitors of my faith? What has come to
Pass, now seems so obvious. How can I not grit my teeth, or place my tongue
In my cheek, when I say:
When I say: No more room here for the bastard thieves who steal hearts and
Disappear. No room for those who come apart at the bayonet's gleam. So
Please show me someone who won't retreat, someone who's gonna stay frosty
When the guns and cannons begin to erupt; someone, as they are painted with
Blood and guts. Show me.
This foundation you stand on is paper-thin, budging with the wind.
I see you running – running from the truth. I hear the anger – anger in your shaking voice.
You are running in the dark. Stare me in the face and say there is nothing to live for, to die for.
This foundation you stand on is paper-thin, budging with the wind.
Look into my eyes and say there is nothing to live for, to die for.
Wasted life, wasted time, faithless living as this time rolls by.
The pride you carry makes you so weary. Stand on something stronger than yourself.
Stand on something stronger than yourself.
This foundation you stand on is paper-thin, budging with the wind.
Look into my eyes and say there is nothing to live for, to die for.
Wasted life, wasted time, faithless living as this time rolls by.
I won't let them get the best of me
This is the path I've made for me
You were my shield from the enemy
Always right there by my side
You were there for me
You were everything
When I felt like nothing, you still believed in me... you were there for me
Forever in debt of gratitude
Unconditional love and support
You paved the way
You gave me strength
Forget the past
Look back at me and I'll be there
Through years of discipline to never settle for second best
The great provider... the years of sacrifice... you were there for me
I've got to find a way to thank my family for everything they've done for me, the sacrifice they made for me
You gave me strength
I'm sucked in, i don't know why
I'm in trouble. I wish that I
Had a signal to signify
The weight of your hair tonight.
It's pulling at my shoulder blades.
Wish i could bleach away:
The black on this page,
The look on your face,
The lock on my cage,
and The weight of your stare tonight.
-chorus-
Let's have a conversation
We'll discuss all the things we
Keep on saying when there's walls between.
Who knows? My mouth is me.
Engines of alienation.
The things you said
I can't forget
Thought i would, but i haven't yet.
Thought I was tough, but I take it back.
There's a split in my tracks.
It's not polite.
Surprise, surprise.
I couldn't count
On broken ties.
Just like me: philanthropist.
We'll display it in my chest(?)
-chorus-
and i couldnt figure out the bridge if anyone
wants to make a correction i would
INTRO:
Pickup the eye crew, it's gonna be lovely,

It's gonna be lovely, it's gonna be fine!
VERSE 1:

(repeat verse 2)
(repeat verse 1)
(repeat chorus)
(repeat verse 1)
(repeat chorus)
(repeat chorus)
too much to think
too much to drink again
I fall
asleep
my head between my knees again
I sink too deep
and I dont think I'll find my way back home
and if anything means anything
then why don't we all fall down
and if anyone, like anyone
we'll learn to stand our ground
it'll be alright
the skies won't fall tonight
and when I pray my soul to keep
and mother may I
walk that line tonight
and rest my weary soul at your feet
and I raise my hand
and question all I see
and I'll bring these things
to everything I keep
and hold tight
I hope
I'll find my way back home
and if anything means anything
why don't we all fall down
and if anyone, like anyone
learn to stand my ground
it'll be alright
the skies wont fall tonight
and when I pray my soul to keep
and mother may I
walk that line tonight
and rest my weary soul at your feet
I'm lying alone with my head on the phone
Thinking of you 'til it hurts
I know you hurt to but what else can we do?
Tormented and torn apart.
I wish I could carry your smile in my heart
For times when my life feels so low
It will make me believe what tomorrow will bring
When today doesn't really know (doesn't really know)
CHORUS
I'm all out of love, I'm so lost without you
I know you were right, For bleaving for so long
I cant be too late I know I was so wrong
CHORUS X3
I'm lying alone with my head on the phone
Thinking of you 'til it hurts
I know you hurt to but what else can we do?
Tormented and torn apart.
I wish I could carry your smile in my heart
For times when my life feels so low
It will make me believe what tomorrow will bring
When today doesn't really know (doesn't really know)
Despite all the spiteful things I say, I still need this like the air I
Breathe.
Still need this to prop up these tired bones, cause my youth is leaving.
Never to be seen again, stripped from me by time and pressure.
So I bang the drum in a sound of declaration of war against the world that
Is dark and calculated, like a killer in the shadows.
Remove me from this calculation.
This is a war so many will never know.
Opposition to the world that is stark raving mad and cold.
I'm scared this anger won't last much longer.
Despite all the bullshit I say, I still need this to breathe life into me.
Stoke the ashes, spark the flame, feed the fire, burn down the lies.
Burn through this rhetoric, burn it all down.
Face the world like a roaring blaze, before all the tears begin to turn
Silent.
Burn down everything that stands in our way.
How long will it be before we're ready to set fire to this bridge?
A guest now in the home where I once lived, I'm on the outside looking in.
Ask me to leave and I'll fucking go. Just say the word.
Like the tide dragged by the moon, I'm at your mercy.
How much longer can I bite my tongue before I sever it?
Held out your hand when I needed it most, and I haven't stopped paying for
Ask me to leave and I'll fucking go. Just say the word.
Like the tide dragged by the moon, I'm at your mercy.
Ask me to leave and I'll go.
The hefty price of your hospitality, I can no longer afford.
I don't want to argue any more.
I'm tired of the words you wield like knives,
Hoping to stab somewhere close to my heart.
At your mercy. Don't wanna be anymore.
I should of known better but it all comes down to this
Sometimes it's hit and somes it's miss
And I could speak so free when your a million miles away
I fear sometimes are the words i'll never say
And when it happens, we're so alone
and we're lost on a long dark road
And we all get lost along the way.
When we're so close, and so far,
shouting out our farwell to arms,
We all get lost along the way.
Carry me home when it all comes down to this.
Sometimes the days gone by are trying to never miss.
And I can bleed so free when your a million miles away
I fear sometimes the words you'll never say
And when it happens, we're so alone
and we're lost on a long dark road
And we all get lost along the way.
And we're so close, and so far,
shouting out our farwell to arms,
And we all get lost along the way.
Our hemmingway, our hemmingway.
Should of known better but it all comes down to this
Sometimes it's hit and sometimes it's miss
And I could speak so free when your a million miles away
I fear sometimes are the words i'll never say
And when it happens, we're so alone
and we're lost on a long dark road
And we all get lost along the way.
And we're so close, and so far,
shouting out our farwell to arms,
And we all get lost along the way.
