The Diadochi (plural of Latin Diadochus, from Greek: Διάδοχοι, Diadokhoi, "Successors") were the rival generals, family and friends of Alexander the Great who fought for the control of Alexander's empire after his death in 323 BC. The Wars of the Diadochi were the turbulent opening of the Hellenistic period.
When Alexander the Great died (June 10, 323 BC), he left behind a huge empire which was composed of many essentially independent territories. Alexander's empire stretched from his homeland of Macedon itself, along with the Greek city-states that his father had subdued, to Bactria and parts of India in the east. It included parts of the present day Balkans, Anatolia, the Levant, Egypt, Babylonia, and most of the former Persia, except for some lands the Achaemenids formerly held in Central Asia.
Without a chosen successor there was almost immediately a dispute among his generals as to who his successor should be. Meleager and the infantry supported the candidacy of Alexander's half-brother, Arrhidaeus, while Perdiccas, the leading cavalry commander, supported waiting until the birth of Alexander's unborn child by Roxana. A compromise was arranged – Arrhidaeus (as Philip III) should become King, and should rule jointly with Roxana's child, assuming that it was a boy (as it was, becoming Alexander IV). Perdiccas himself would become Regent of the entire Empire, and Meleager his lieutenant. Soon, however, Perdiccas had Meleager and the other infantry leaders murdered, and assumed full control.
Alexander III of Macedon (20/21 July 356 – 10/11 June 323 BC), commonly known as Alexander the Great (Greek: Ἀλέξανδρος ὁ Μέγας, Aléxandros ho Mégas from the Greek αλέξω alexo "to defend, help" + ανήρ aner "man"), was a king of Macedon, a state in northern ancient Greece. Born in Pella in 356 BC, Alexander was tutored by Aristotle until the age of 16. By the age of thirty, he had created one of the largest empires of the ancient world, stretching from the Ionian Sea to the Himalayas. He was undefeated in battle and is considered one of history's most successful commanders.
Alexander succeeded his father, Philip II of Macedon, to the throne in 336 BC after Philip was assassinated. Upon Philip's death, Alexander inherited a strong kingdom and an experienced army. He was awarded the generalship of Greece and used this authority to launch his father's military expansion plans. In 334 BC, he invaded Persian-ruled Asia Minor and began a series of campaigns that lasted ten years. Alexander broke the power of Persia in a series of decisive battles, most notably the battles of Issus and Gaugamela. He subsequently overthrew the Persian King Darius III and conquered the entirety of the Persian Empire. At that point, his empire stretched from the Adriatic Sea to the Indus River.
Let's go! (oh x 16)
You know what it is
See them hands, let let let me see them hands
You know what it is
See them hands, let let let me see them hands
Let me see them hands to the sky like this a stick up
Yeah we goin' onward and nobody sippin' liquor
I'm fresh, brand new, man, somebody take a picture
I'm feelin' so official, throw the flag, blow the whistle
Set it off, blow it up, but, but you can keep the missile
Grace through the mediator, my [?]
... in the middle
Here we get the "W" so you can call me winner, yessir
Gave the Lord control, command, shift, enter
So you aimin' for the stars? Most drive a mini-missle
And I'm aimin for the Lord, through the Son, that's how we hit em'
It's more than just some music, it's a movement, see the Scriptures?
I'm pride in the Lord, but humble since my beginning
I'm humbled from the start
My pride is in the cross
Victory is mine, I'm working for the boss
You know what it is, and lemme see them hands up,
You know what it is, now lemme see them hands up
Yeah we do it big, we 'bout to set it off
Victory is mine, my pride is in the cross
You know what it is, and lemme see them hands up
You know what it is, now lemme see them hands up
The Father's who I follow, he runs it out like a Cannon
Tryin' to bring you out the dark, somebody turn the flash on
So you can get the picture, He's the reason you ain't passed on
He's gracious plus He's patient, He hates when one is passed on
Over, nah, it ain't over, roger that come back now over
Pride'll kill ya, lies'll kill ya, gassed up like Exxon-Mobil
Get you lookin at yourself just like Face Off with John Travolta
Watch it - pride'll have you tryin' to network and netflirt like Oprah
Hey, but I'm humbled by the Cross, for real
Somebody tell Ross I know who the Boss for real
Pride leads you to destruction, get you lost for real
But the humble in Him, boastin and floss?, for real
I'm humbled from the start
My pride is in the cross
Victory is mine, I'm working for the boss
You know what it is, and lemme see them hands up,
You know what it is, now lemme see them hands up
Yeah we do it big, we 'bout to set it off
Victory is mine, my pride is in the cross
You know what it is, and lemme see them hands up
You know what it is, now lemme see them hands up
Now you might wanna lean with it, might wanna rock with it
Might wanna do the Superman, or Cat Daddy, Dougie, pop and lock with it
Go'n and get it, on that Psalms 30: 11, I know my God did it
(Just dance?)
Ain't no pride in it, you know the Rock's in it
I know we're loco with the dudes that don't flow
My bros in dark clothes [?] with the Lord, it's top [?]
You hear these lines and hooks? Homie, we fishermen - we preach.
With this Gospel network, gettin' good reception with 3Gs
Our souls are so low to behold the Lord of hosts
To know, conozco, I wanna go until you know
I'm safer than Noah when the flood came
Homie, I rejoiced.
His cross is beyond the arc, he nailed it - three points.
You know what it is, and lemme see them hands up
You know what it is, now lemme see them hands up
I work, and I press
And I do everything I can just trying to give these folks my best
I sweat, and I grind
I used to try but learned that I can't please these people all the time
So I work, and I press
And I do everything I can just trying to give these folks my best
And I sweat and I grind
I used to try but learned that I can't please these people all the time
Hey, what's happening homie
Hey, hey, what it do mane
Don't know 'bout you but I'm working
Trying to keep pressing mane
In life, with rhymes
I fight with people pleasing
That's trife, this time
I'm fighting to please Jesus
I'm done with it dog
All the lying and masquerading
The fronting and the faking
I hate it, life feels so vacant
I used to let 'em make it
Even if it got blatant
No matter how flagrant, I'd let it slide like stealing bases
But now I finally get it
So I ain't ever quitting
I can't be passive, inactive like players that's been injured
Far from it
Been hurt, been even knocked off my feet
But I'm in Christ, and I want life like it's suppose to be
I work, and I press
And I do everything I can just trying to give these folks my best
I sweat, and I grind
I used to try but learned that I can't please these people all the time
So I work, and I press
And I do everything I can just trying to give these folks my best
And I sweat and I grind
I used to try but learned that I can't please these people all the time
When I ain't know, who I was
Everyday I wasted life
Pagan days of people pleasing cause I wasn't chasing Christ
Worried 'bout the he say she say
I'd repeat it like a replay
I was chasing their approval like a runner in a relay (GO)
I was believing that if I got it
No-doubt it'd be all good
But even if I got it
Somehow it would fall through
I tried to keep standing
Living by a weak standard
Believing even Jesus received me based on my weak merits
Lies from the pit, lies I won't forget
Lies that ruin lives and keep you blind to who you is
Sinner saved by grace, through faith for Jesus sake
So what you have count as loss as we press to see His face
I work, and I press
And I do everything I can just trying to give these folks my best
I sweat, and I grind
I used to try but learned that I can't please these people all the time
So I work, and I press
And I do everything I can just trying to give these folks my best
And I sweat and I grind
I used to try but learned that I can't please these people all the time
Every Christians on the track
But are we focused like a scope
Or are we racing never pacing
Are we running to the goal
Upward (upward) calling (calling)
Full in (full in) knowledge (knowledge)
Nothing hollow
Like the lotto
True rewards
From God the Father
Well we should be
No matter what they say, or even throw at us
Keep rolling up, and pressing in
And showing folks you rest in Him
See when it's, all said and done, I wanna, be true to Christ
I wanna, see fruit that's proof to know it's true to life
So look to Him, give up everything to make it to Him
To know Him fully
Becoming holy as you pursue Him
To all my saints, who know they saved
But know there's more to gain
Keep pressing till the end when we will see Him face to face
I work, and I press
And I do everything I can just trying to give these folks my best
I sweat, and I grind
I used to try but learned that I can't please these people all the time
So I work, and I press
And I do everything I can just trying to give these folks my best
And I sweat and I grind
[Verse 1: Tedashii]
Ok, why did we do it? Cause mommy thought it was too late,
The struggle in her flesh got her mixed up just like a Clue tape
She straddling the fence switching back and forth just like two lanes,
So we present the grace that's available since this Jew came
Why did we do it? Cause we deny the hand that was given,
We'd rather prison before we choose the Lamb that is risen
We're unaware that our hearts are deceitfully wicked,
If trusted it'll trick you like Shai Linne when he flipped it
So don't come up in the game tip toein, dip low when we blowin,
Tip slow and chill upon the fact men going through notions still joking imploding
They lookin' up to God for props and mo dollars for collars for poppin,
But it on a move, yo crosses, cause lost men seek flossing like bosses
It's 1-1-6 the only reason I live,
Make it plain like window panes and outfits without appeal
Yes I am young and like Vince I rally, I'm unashamed
I stand out like Longhorns in Cali
[Hook:]
Because of God's love and grace - that's why we did what we did
For little kids up in the faith - that's why we did what we did
His Son died up in our place - that's why we did what we did
To meet the Father face to face - that's why we did what we did
To show them boys it's not an act - that's why we did what we did
Because the Christ is comin' back - that's why we did what we did
To rep His name and hold it down - that's why we did what we did
We grab mikes and say it loud - that's why we did what we did
[Verse 2: Trip Lee]
Hey, cats always wanna ask us why we made a switch to livin' life for the Master
Ain't nothing great as this, we don't be feelin' like we have to be smoking and drinking Cris
They don't understand so they be asking why like Jadakiss
We used to be your average dudes mane
Livin' just to live with ungodly attitudes, straight content within our sin
But glory to God He snatched us up out of confusion,
We ain't fools cause Christ cross shook us like we was hoopin' mane
We ain't even know that our vision was blurred,
Was all up in the world, but wouldn't get in the word
You wonder why we dirty south but ain't sippin the syrup,
Cause He took the crucifixion still was risen on the third
His Spirit took control that's why we some new creatures,
Taught us everything we know like He was a school teacher
Now we pursue Jesus we ain't livin' in sin,
Cause He snatched us out the pit that's why we did what we did
[Hook:]
Because of God's love and grace - that's why we did what we did
For little kids up in the faith - that's why we did what we did
His Son died up in our place - that's why we did what we did
To meet the Father face to face - that's why we did what we did
To show them boys it's not an act - that's why we did what we did
Because the Christ is comin' back - that's why we did what we did
To rep His name and hold it down - that's why we did what we did
We grab mikes and say it loud - that's why we did what we did
[Verse 3: Tedashii]
Hey it's T-dot, I'm back on your corner up in your hood mane,
Still reaching for them junkie moneys grippin the wood grain
Still reaching out to my family just like I should main,
Even if they blow me off with it's all good main
Cause the truth of the gospel I got it, just like apostles I shout it,
Loud like little kids who be pouting, til this whole circle get crowded
See the world is undoubtedly cursed with a curse,
So we spit a verse with no curse for the reverse of the curse
Children are fighting to live, addicts keep popping them pills,
Christians are frightened to spill, passively croppin' them fields
I'm unashamed of the God who would take my blame,
The lashes on the Master passed me fastly when Jesus came
So reading His word- that's me, witness on curbs- that's me,
No 4 letter words- that's me, does this sound absurd? That's me
See through what Jesus did, now we some believer kids,
[Verse 1:]
5: 46 in the morning tossing and turning
Cause I'm worried about if we gon' break up in the morning
When I see her after class cause I messed up big,
For two days I made her mad this got me stressed out kid
And even though we're still together it seems I'm losing her heart,
It's like every time I disappoint her we grow further apart
Why does this seem to be the norm for life?
I've gone through life feeling the blame of losing love
Cause I wronged the right
Dawg, I promise I know that I'm not perfect man and my life,
It's the reason why churches stand
But it doesn't help when I'm a hurting man,
Those closest to me call me a burden man
Because their thoughts for me, a sinner,
Because they bought for me a dinner, I feel indebted,
I mean their hugs are even costing me
Some feel the boss of me, and if I buck they tossing me,
Awfully I feel rejected, this loves killing me softly
[Hook:]
It was love unconditional that bought me back,
It was love unconditional that made me accepted
It was love unconditional that taught me
That my salvation is the proof that I'm never rejected
It was love unconditional that gave me grace,
It was love unconditional that made me accepted
It was love unconditional He took my place,
My salvation is the proof that I'm never rejected
[Verse 2:]
Between my girl and this world it seems I'll never get it right,
Even pastor seems to reject me when I'm absent Wednesday night
I watch my girl ignore me, then my boys abhor me,
And even my own family not get their way and act sorely
Surely there's a love for me,
Even though I trip and fall short of the place I'm supposed to be
But after years of this kind of love and tears that'll drown a tub,
I just learn to accept, by people this is how I'm loved
But somehow when I ran to the Father to give my hand to the Father,
And stand in the Father I put the ways of a man on the Father
And I began believing His love was conditional
And that I had to work to earn that just to get in good with God
Of course I believed He could save my soul,
But I was having problems believing He could make me whole
For too many years I lived with people who made me earn love,
But as a Christian I learned I needed to relearn love
[Verse 3:]
His love is unconditional, unlike the unoriginal,
He took the unforgivable, gave us His Son's positional
See we were dead to the Father because of our actions
We fled from the Father indulging in the sin
That kept us dead to the Father
But God who is rich in mercy and love made us alive with Christ
And to His position raised us up
So that means God accepts me cause He sees me in Christ
And He'll never reject me, His love's not the seasonal type
And since my works didn't save me then my work can't sustain me
Unlike man I learned I don't need works for Him to take me
He made me to love me, He made you to love you,
He's always been there just look at what you've come through
Don't make God to be a man, see I fell into Satan's plan
And believed the lie no one loves me for who I am
But no longer will I live in that prison
But instead believe the fact I'm loved
Oh my goodness
Hey, hey
Hey baby, let's get it
It's been a minute
But no worries folk I'm still in it
I'm still with it
I ain't going no where
I'm a still be standing right here
Even if they say they don't care
Now what's up (what's up)
Hey mane I'll tell you what's up
Man sinned and sinned and in the end now our image's messed up
And (and) identity's damaged
Happened all over the planet
Not lost, but sure is blemished
Now how we see is scrambled
But God, being rich, in mercy, gave me living water when he saw that I was thirsty
And I came (and I came) to the cross (to the cross) for the Lord and it ended my searching
I was lost (I was lost) in a maze (in a maze) until His amazing grace (yeah)
And I got to the truth, and I found out what to do
I need to live by faith (yeah)
So I'm a work, like I'm pushing the cane
Never giving in or giving up I'm all in this thang
Giving everything I got, just to see who I am
On the cool lil' buddy, I ain't playing no games
People trippin' and they thinking that they life is straight
Seeking peace while they saying that their life is great
Steady looking for the answer with no words to say
One clue plus proof, it's the Imago Dei,
Uh-uuh, the Imago Dei
[Hook:]
You can see the way I can I changed, new swag new talk new frame. Not who I used to be. Transformed now you should get used to me. [x2]
[Lecrae:]
Yea.A new swag new walk new focus. It's all Christ not me no boastin. And let me show you how to do this son, if you follow the old me you's a foolish one. Was a decepticon, or a decept and con. I get you for your last dollar then an extra
One. Christ changed that you should spit change rep bout how I'm getting change, now I'm doin it to change cats. Folks see
Me and they like "he a thug" but I tellem look closer cause I'm
Covered in His blood. I'm transformed I don't do that there, ya
Might see me in the street like "who that there? " I walk in the
Spirit full of peace, full of love. Full of truth, full of Christ, payed
The price with his blood. Now I'm all up in the word usta be up
In the herb. I'm a FANA ya'll kno the word. {FANATIC from his
Song of the same name. google it lol}
[Hook x2]
[Tedashii:]
Yessir, I'm right back in my second home. Feel the... tick tock like a metronome. Beat knock, is anybody home, transformed so homie let's get it on (get it on). Cause man I ain't the sizame {same}, since the substitute took my place in the gizame {game}. Made me brand new and did it all in His nizame {name}. Claimed me on the altar to alter the way I thizank {think}. So baby what is do man this is really insane, a sinner in my crew till the lord did His thizang {thing}. Went from dark to light like mike without the pizane {pain?}.You might think it's me be but lil homie know that it ain't. So please believe the old me, he dead. See in me to seek him instead. He's the king of kings so ever knee and head will need to heed and concede He's head.
[Hook x2]
[Trip Lee:]
Oh yes, I used to live life all in the flesh, with J's and the cash what that's a mess. With clothes that I bought thought I was fresh, but I wasn't fresh at all, I was lost. Hollerin at them girls in the school house halls, tryina ball, ignorant to my flaws. Up until the Lord put all that on pause. Yes I blessed to fall at His cross. I, wasn't a dangerous cat, tryina aim things point blank range on cats, no sir, but still things was wack, man let me get some things off my chest like my chain was snatched, yea, I'm one of His kids you can be today, he covered any sin, we can flee away. Cling to his cross believe that He raised, see the truth, see the life, you can see the way (yea you can see the way)
[Verse 1:]
9 years old gettin dropped off at sunday school
Class clownin with my boyz I jus wana be kool
See, I grew up thinkin that church was for the preacher
Until I met brothers who wanted to reach us and teach us
How to study our bibles to see what it means
And show Christianity isn't just about what it brings
But sadly there was some who lived opposite of scripture
Christians to the public who muddy up the picture
Cause for too long cats like Kelz and Mase been the spokesmen
All the while the public see us a joke man
So this song is for the true shepherds
Who prove selfless, whose aim is to aid the true helpless
How many brothers like Spergan and Piper,
Tom Nelson, John Edwards, brothers who make disciples
Those because of Ezekiel 34 shepherd the flocks as a true pastor of the Lord
[Chorus:]
Let's here it one for the pastors and preachers,
Those who was burnin to teach us just so they can reach us
And two for big momma Madea, granny Mae, all those who would pray us through the faith
And three for the crowd of many witnesses
Who stood for the faith and paved the way so we could witness this
Kingdom people this songs for you, kingdom people this songs for you, so let's go
[Verse 2:]
I was a hard-head growin up in Buzzeroot Texas
Where the girls would stand stacked and the men would plexes,
But nobody seems to care so my cousins was reckless
But for moms and madea that was more than what's expected
From their perspective, life wasn't over
They all had a sense of hope that was based on Jehovah
And more over, they knew the life to come,
They had a love for the people based on Christ the son
And as I write this song, I can remember many times I left home
Momma cryin just wishin I had tried
Well I tried it momma, and I kept it too, I praise God for Madea that was prayin me through
Thank you Miss Luke, Momma Grant, and Aunt Jessey Mae,
Momma, all those who was prayin through the faith
This is for you, and no one in the world can compare to ya
To me Madea is more than a Tyler Perry character
[Chorus]
[Verse 3:]
There are those that have gone on, and gone home,
To worship at the throne but their lives live on
It's the presidence of faith that gives the evidence of faith
Exhorting residence of grace that lay aside every weight that hinders our race
True examples from the Father
That even if we're martyred, our faith shall never falter
I pray that we trust in the Father like Jacob and Joseph
True faith hall of famers like David and Moses
And I praise God for our present day models
From the Columbine daughters to my spiritual fathers
I thank you God for the highly Kenan Lecraen show
Godly men as an example of which to go
And to the sisters I see ya'll holdin it down, standin firm for the faith like lightpoles in the ground
This song is dedicated to all ya'll whos true
Yes I'm livin' the life
Yes I'm livin' the life
Couldn't live it without you (I can't live without you)
Not without you no no (no!)
Yes I'm livin the life
Yes I'm livin the life
Couldn't live it without you (I can't live without you)
Not without you no no (no!)
Yes I'm livin' the life
I got a first class flight, to where I live
I'm here now, but dead too, like I had a twin
That's the beauty of a paradox
Too like a pair of socks
Hearin' that see in double no Henny shots, shots!
Ain't no liquor in my liver
I just wanna take a picture that this life gives ya
Hope in the King like Coretta
And if it doesn't get betta, I know it will when He comes and get us
Or when we get up yeah, you see I'm done
I know I just left but I was already home
Sittin where the King seat, right there by the throne
And even though I pass away, I am neva gone
So now, I wait on my position, I feel the tension like I'm lifted while I'm waitin' on my pinchin'
Pain cuts deep, with no visible incision but I'm healed as a heal cause I live in that dimension.
Yes I'm livin' the life
Yes I'm livin' the life
Couldn't live it without you (I can't live without you)
Not without you no no (no!)
Yes I'm livin the life
Yes I'm livin the life
Couldn't live it without you (I can't live without you)
Not without you no no (no!)
Yes I'm livin' the life
I mean there's got to be more to this world man
It's broken, I've seen it, but not only have I seen it, I've lived it
When you're in a nightmare and dreams seem to have limits
And you scream to heaven but they don't pass the ceiling
What a awkward feeling, you sellin your body with every touch, you're dyin' but you're still making a killin'
You want more then sex and possession
We stand on our corner 'cause we can't see progression...?
[Verse 1: Tedashii]
I see kids, wildin' out, they pops was out
I see it like a flash back, that empty life
Now in Christ, I finally got my dad back
God was that He snatched me back He got me off that fast track
Of chasing dreams and manish things, like power, pleasure, and respect
Taught me that a selfish view, never was a healthy view
Here's some help for you who struggle too, living past that
Selfish gain or selfless aim, hey baby they gone clash black
Worldly wisdom or scripture, it ain't but one that has facts
Tried it all, all alone, but found that I was handicapped
Strength I lacked, abused by this world you can have it back
See the fact remains I was changed when I heard His name
I know He's real, and I'll never be the same
[Hook: G.P.]
I'm in love with one hand in the sky
I'm looking at the the cross with both of my eyes
I know I was born into sin
But now I'm in Christ yes I'm born to win
I know, I know, that Jesus lives
And I know, I know He is my king
And that's why, that's why I'll always sing
Jesus, thank You for saving my life
Uh-oh, uh-oh-uhoh, uh-oh
Uh-oh, uh-oh-uhoh, uh-oh
Uh-oh, uh-oh-uhoh, uh-oh
(Hey) thank You for saving my life
[Verse 2: Tedashii]
See with us evident, most of us, we hope; I know, to get inside
We expect to be in heaven but baby we gotta die
Die physically and inwardly
But some men will be foolish in their ways and trust they self continually
Growing in their pride, eyes closed so they can't see
Walking blind all the time, too arrogant to see their need
I can hear the preacher preach, reaching out to you and me
Begging us to look to Jesus and no longer be deceived
Cie-cie-cieved, by the enemy or the sin in me
That says to be sufficient independently
I'm so glad to be walking on the straight and narrow
I know that god got me if his eye is on the sparrow
[Hook: G.P.]
I'm in love with one hand in the sky
I'm looking at the the cross with both of my eyes
I know I was born into sin
But now I'm in Christ yes I'm born to win
I know, I know, that Jesus lives
And I know, I know He is my king
And that's why, that's why I'll always sing
Jesus, thank You for saving my life
Uh-oh, uh-oh-uhoh, uh-oh
Uh-oh, uh-oh-uhoh, uh-oh
Uh-oh, uh-oh-uhoh, uh-oh
(Hey) thank You for saving my life
[Verse 3: Tedashii]
So from the newest life, the truest life, I know that He's real
From the changes in my stride to the way that I feel
Something different, you sense it, even momma was trippin'
Wondering like Alice asking me, hey boy what's gotten in you
I said, Jesus is real (hey), this ain't just a religion
I done tried to practice habits but man nothing was sticking
But His love and His joy and the peace that He brings
Man was dead in sin till Jesus came on the scene
Now it's a wrap for ya boy, no more, quiet on set,
I'm telling everyone I know, I ain't ashamed to represent
I love Him, no one above Him, I'll forever worship
Hands high to the sky, as I show my love to him
(Sing)
[Kids:]
Uh-oh, uh-oh-uh-oh-uh-oh
Uh-oh, uh-oh-uh-oh-uh-oh
Uh-oh, uh-oh-uh-oh-uh-oh
Jesus, thank you for saving my life
[Hook: G.P.]
I'm in love with one hand in the sky
I'm looking at the the cross with both of my eyes
I know I was born into sin
But now I'm in Christ yes I'm born to win
I know, I know, that Jesus lives
And I know, I know He is my king
And that's why, that's why I'll always sing
Jesus, thank You for saving my life
Uh-oh, uh-oh-uhoh, uh-oh
Uh-oh, uh-oh-uhoh, uh-oh
Uh-oh, uh-oh-uhoh, uh-oh
[Verse 1:]
Eighteen years a flesh and she news to the Lord,
Eighteen years a fish and she's new to the yard
She's a baby drinking milk instead of food that is hard,
But she chose to take the challenge though she knew it was hard
Knew what it was to feel pain since she was two in the yard,
Memories of daddy getting merked catching two in the heart
Plus her momma was a product of 70s crack parties,
The lack of supervision allowed her to act naughty
She skipping all class but goin' to frat parties,
Dressed to kill, dolled up, they call her the black Barbie
She rocks the hottest fashion masking her heart's darting pain
Behind Greeks saying "Hey, what up shorty? "
She's loving the attention ignoring her conviction
Because she's up in college getting noticed like evictions
And for the first time it's like she finally found significance,
She's catching compliments but at the cost of her innocence
[Hook:]
Don't play yourself like that (like that),
Make a change I'll tell you where it's at (where it's at)
Place your faith in Christ and He'll bring you back,
Bring you back to reality man
Cause you're stuck in a world full of sin, full of pain,
Full of scars, money, fashion, and cars
So go ahead and make Him King of your heart
And you'll find yourself in Him
[Verse 2:]
Young dude up in college feeling cocky like 2 glocks,
Up in the dorm writing Dear Mama letters like Tupac
Mad at the world that's trying to break him into 2 parts,
Feeling cheated, defeated, he's looking for a new start
His momma lied 'bout cheating on his daddy, he couldn't trust her,
Far as he concerned his real daddy was a busta
So since he couldn't discern this stuff, nowhere to turn and trust
He burned the kush and turned to lust
Women was his escape, adolescence his scapegoat,
All the pressures of life wore him down like he played sports
He played sports but that was just for attention
His struggles with insecurities made him feel insufficient
The thoughts of other men concerning him kept concerning him,
He thought if he didn't please them then there's no love for him
Prisoned within himself by the vision of himself,
So disgusted with life he wished he was someone else
[Hook:]
Don't play yourself like that (like that),
Make a change I'll tell you where it's at (where it's at)
Place your faith in Christ and He'll bring you back,
Bring you back to reality man
Cause you're stuck in a world full of sin, full of pain,
Full of scars, money, fashion, and cars
So go ahead and make Him King of your heart
And you'll find yourself in Him
[Verse 3:]
Nobody told us God wanted a relationship,
They just said that He was Master with a patient whip
Out to get me if I chose to forsake His gift
Saying my sin would be the reason if His patience dipped
And I ain't perfect so I figured that He must hate me, (must hate me)
So my hope was to not frustrate things
So I gave Him very Sunday plus my bedtime prayer,
And instead of my girl's room I went to bed downstairs
I lived everyday thinking that His love was conditional
Believing the subliminals that God was never into us
But despite my world views and my girl's views
I decided to side with the God who changed my world views
It ain't worth it man to work your hand to plan to please the people,
See I'm certain man assertive hands stand to see the cement
All men will bow to this God who's real,
And because of His love your significance is
[Hook:]
Don't play yourself like that (like that),
Make a change I'll tell you where it's at (where it's at)
Place your faith in Christ and He'll bring you back,
Bring you back to reality man
Cause you're stuck in a world full of sin, full of pain,
Full of scars, money, fashion, and cars
So go ahead and make Him King of your heart
Rock-a-bye, baby
In the treetop
When the wind blows
The cradle will rock
When the bough breaks
The cradle will fall
And down will come baby
Cradle and all
Baby is drowsing
Cosy and fair
Mother sits near
In her rocking chair
Forward and back
The cradle she swings
And though baby sleeps
He hears what she sings
From the high rooftops
Down to the sea
No one's as dear
As baby to me
Wee little fingers
Eyes wide and bright
Now sound asleep
Riot, I said everybody riot
Tell 'em if they want, come try it
I mean, make war, everybody fight it
Done with them secrets, yep I ain't keepin' quiet
They say this won't hurt me, they lying
They just tryin' to merk me, slowly I'm dying
Lie, they lie, now they trying to body us pride
My pride, choke button, this a slaughter house
Trying to hold on, but it's hard
Screaming Oh my, oh my, oh-oh my God!
Whoa! Slave on this track, and sin is the pimp son
Homer chokin' I just seen Bart Simpson
Danger, man, cause this thing is a monster
Pro said fight cause sin, it'll haunt ya
So that's what I do, till I hear the bell ring
Startin' up a riot, that's a everyday thing
La da da da, la di da di da [x4]
Start a riot [x8]
Ohhhh!
Okay, battle lines drawn, face paint on
When the opposition come, it's time to drop bombs
War clothes on, you can call it under armour
God-given weapons so the enemy won't harm ya
Yes, I'm a snitch, or you can say informer
Call it what you wanna, ay I'm just tryin' to warn ya
Keep it on the low, watch your name... Become a tabloid
Sin, can't avoid it, but we still tryin' to pay for it
And you will till you riot, fight with everything
'Cause the law can beat you down, Rodney Kind
And you just tryin to get along
You don't see that nothin' wrong
But when you get alone, you trin' to get it on
But with the Lord, ain't no such thing as secret
He know what you finna say, way before you speak it
Knows what you finna look at before you see it
Knows everything, so confess it man, seek Him
La da da da, la di da di da [x4]
Start a riot [x8]
Ohhhh!
Ye-ye-ye, ye-ye-yeah [x4]
La di da da, we come back and reload
La di da da, don't hold back, here we go
La di da da, I know what we fo' sho'
La di da da, hold it down and let's go
Cause I refuse to be the one line on the son
Like He don't change lives, I'm alive, look what
He's done,
I'm a product of confession man, every line's a lesson
I repent and tell it, no occupation, profession
La da da da, la di da di da [x4]
Start a riot [x8]
Livin' it [x16]
[Hook:]
Why is the monster taller than ever, while the weak fade away?
When justice storms, and darkness flees, I'm reminded on that day
The last shall be first, the first shall be last (x3)
The last shall be... (Livin' it, livin' it in reverse)
And everything's in reverse
Livin' with the end in mind, something like the president
I was livin' for the moment, tryin' to own it, residence
Believe in Him, that's the last thing I done ever chose
Gimme that rag top, trey on them chosen vogue
(I rode) That '67 Chevy my cousin drove on them golden spokes?
Life is short, and man I hope I make it down the road
But where I'm from, hope was that girl who flirted, flaunted
You never got it, but she was the one you always wanted
How good a picture perfect image front and tell you lies
My version of perversion did it every day a lie
And man that burden got me hurtin' lookin' for some answers
Endless searchin' just leave you burnin': Jo Jo Dancer
But mine ended when I saw the Lord would choose to hang
That type of love got me coming back, call it boomerang
Yet you can end the searches living waters quench my thirst
Since the day I died now I'm livin' in reverse
Why is the monster taller than ever, while the weak fade away?
When justice storms, and darkness flees, I'm reminded on that day
The last shall be first, the first shall be last (x3)
The last shall be... (Livin' it, livin' it in reverse)
And everything's in reverse
Man all I ever wanted, was to be labeled the greatest
Cassius Clay on spittin' rhymes while rockin' the lastest
But that crept into my life in Christ, it was evident
As I debate how I was better than the rest of them
Work-based righteousness; base my worth on some type of list and
If I keep it or not perfected every night since this
Now, I'm looking for approval, and I'm selfish!
So all I want to do is try to out do you.
Silent when you ask me. Later I'm where you like. Approved.
Far from His image and couldn't see it. Where is the Zoom?
This is grace in my moment of reproof. That helps me see the truth.
Just how I sound; no auto-tune.
And in this life the last will be first and the first is last.
And He's a servant to the end. We certain of that.
That's what I heard; freedom from the curse.
Livin' to it hurts, but the latter doesn't matter when you in reverse.
Why is the monster taller than ever, while the weak fade away?
When justice storms, and darkness flees, I'm reminded on that day
The last shall be first, the first shall be last (x3)
The last shall be... (Livin' it, livin' it in reverse)
And everything's in reverse
Man, I'm longin' for that day when the trumpet sounds.
I imagine in an instant I'd be off the ground.
Face to face with my Maker, with the glorious Savior.
Embraced by Forever, no pain, free from labor.
And from my sinful nature, And we see Hope revealed.
Free from every tribulation, see He broke the seal.
Every saint around the throne in worship
Of the Perfect cause He purged us and He purchased us cause Hell is real.
Receiven what we all deserve
That where we see the first shall be last and the last will be first.
Either way, He's such a generous God.
It doesn't matter if you've been here forever or just started to jive.
He rewards us for our work, so life's not in vain.
And every saint, hold on He's comin' again!
Revelation's only scary if you're not in Christ.
So I don't shine, I reveal. Call it Blacklight.
[Verse 1: Tedashii]
What it do derrty, I see you playing the walls, you out here
Beefing without beats and you keep playing us soft
Claiming that you need something to make you move like evictions,
And if you moving to this beat then ain't no way that it's Christian
But derrty, we understand that sin is much more appealing,
That's why fellas run to girls with clothes that's much more revealing
But I bet you if this song was about clicking and clacking or grills,
You'd have no problem putting a dip in your back and that's real
See the problem ain't the track or the groove, retracting your moves,
Perhaps this world's attractive to you
And you're in love with the feeling from the records they spinning,
But the issue is you love it to the point that you sinning
It's unfulfilling I promise when your party is done
A part of you longs for at least another part of the fun
Uh-oh, you don't wanna be found in that position,
Especially a Christian (a Christian?) compromising your living
[Hook:]
They don't want that godly music but naughty music
That party music, that make you shake your body music
And you ain't gotta leave the church to find music
That will put in work
[x2]
(Errbody wanna party) [x5]
[Verse 2: Flame]
Man I came from the club scene house parties, block parties,
OG's hit the liquor store and cop 40s
Covered up with them brown paper bags,
Raw jeans pulled down make 'em sag
Silver chain used to say it was white gold,
Rap music made me cooler than ice cold
Until my life froze and the good news of Christ
Interrupted like them commercials from Geico
And like Nitro, I quickly got rid of my Biggy and Tupac
That made me feel like I was psycho
Said to myself, guess for me that rap's dead,
Started feening for them 808's like a crack head
All I needed was a window and a rope for suicide,
But God provided the antidote
Raw beats and some Godly music,
Only problem now is that we hardly use it
[Hook:]
They don't want that godly music but naughty music
That party music, that make you shake your body music
And you ain't gotta leave the church to find music
That will put in work
[x2]
(Errbody wanna party) [x5]
[Verse 3: Tedashii]
All ready baby, I seen you bounce to this,
Ain't no need for you to front, you can get down with this
Yeah you heard us say Jesus that's cause we kingdom people,
It's a trip to hear this music banging knocking your steeples
I know it shocks you baby, but then rocks you baby,
And you ain't gotta leave the church to find music that put in work (put in work)
But I guess we seem weak to you, cause we ain't braggin bout our clothes,
We'd rather speak to you
Hey This, maybe I ain't got enough dope in my rhyme
Or brag about a body count to get 'em scoping rhyme
(Nope) I'll keep the main thang the main thang mane
[Verse 1: Tedashii]
Do you remember when you first got saved?
And felt the feeling of the quenching of the thirst God gave
Do you remember when your members all were rendered back to sender
And the feeling of His sealing satisfied like a Snicker
There's relief from the grief of the thief through belief
So excited about His peace you recited it to your peeps
So delighted to hit the streets plus excited to win His sheep
However we passively sever the action we zealously seek (why?)
Fear begins to increase because you notice your peeps
Would rather celebrate the world than ever embrace His peace
They seem to find it in sweets, toting holsters of heat,
Finding comfort like the Isley Brothers in between the sheets
To them the gospel message is foolish and unfulfilling
So you base the Great Commission on whether or not they feeling you
The gospel's offensive except to repentive,
So man up for the manna from Heaven and represent Him
[Hook:]
We press our claim we make it plain
Hey it's on now
Phanatik's insane with this thang
Hey it's on now
Elected and chosen to rep
Mane it's on now
It's on now, it's on now
[Repeat]
[Verse 2: Phanatik]
I can remember when heaven made the connection
And stepped into my section and blessed me with the blessing
Of a calling and election, He made the call and collection
I was all in awe of Him plus I was all in for reppin,
But I can remember when my feet started slipping
And I almost lost my grip cause I was grappling with dipping
Into the forbidden to fulfill desires that were hidden
Not facing temptation with the blatant statement it is written,
Now, isn't it blasphemous to live life like
We have to get this lavish lifestyle while acting like
Creaturely happiness is just as important
As watching our Maker sporting a smile while He staring at us
While we're spinning on our access
This isn't Hell but I'm sure this isn't heaven,
It's sort of short of a little bit of both
Cause both of them are present in the sense that both are possible,
Watch it the only obstacle stopping you
From going to one or the other is the God you know
[Hook:]
We press our claim we make it plain
Hey it's on now
Phanatik's insane with this thang
Hey it's on now
Elected and chosen to rep
Mane it's on now
It's on now, it's on now
[Repeat]
[Verse 3:]
[Tedashii:]
See acts of sin taxes men, finds a corner and backs you in,
And embarrassment harass men til you silent like passive men
Don't let fear grip you, know the Spirit is with you
And be encouraged cause there are saints that have seen
What you've been through
[Phanatik:]
We got Phanatik and T-dot on the beat,
Ride with our feet shod with the gospel of peace,
We won't keep quiet
If the Lord keeps us from cherishing sin or fearing men
To the point that we're embarrassed of Him
[Tedashii:]
So what's the deezy? We either scared or snared b
And one of them has got us caught up and we scared to share
But they won't beat us into silence and no keeping us quiet,
See we love Him too much just to be kept muzzled and bridled
[Phanatik:]
My tounge, (yours too) is powerful like shotgun power
When it gets left out it gets set on blaze
That's how come, I will bridle it and won't leave it idle
And let it off unless it's setting off praise
[Hook:]
We press our claim we make it plain
Hey it's on now
Phanatik's insane with this thang
Hey it's on now
Elected and chosen to rep
Mane it's on now
It's on now, it's on now
Oh yes, you know it's on again,
This' for my souled out believers who been born again
Yes, oh, you know we born in sin
But through the resurrected Lamb we all been born to win
Cause at birth sin, we born into this thing,
Placed at odds with the Father, sworn enemies mane
And we grow up from the time of inception with lies and deception,
Obeying our lust hoping that God'll accept us
But oh, no this joint is serious mane,
Unrepentant sin in life, it gets Him furious mane
No, oh please don't trust yourself,
Trying to carry sin's weight, you'll crush yourself
So when your flesh start rising just hush yourself
And put no trust in this world, it's gon' rust and melt
So, get down like the bomb's been dropped,
And trust the Father with your life before your time is out
[Hook:]
Off da hook, off da hook, off da hook, off da hook [x4]
Oh, we off da hook, oh, we off da hook,
Oh, you off da hook, oh, she off da hook
Oh, he off da hook, oh they off da hook,
Oh, we off da hook, oh, we off da hook
Oh, yes so peep the scene on the earth stacks of green,
Racks of lean, plus the green from the earth
Yes, oh, man's in love with himself and anything done good
He thinks he does it himself
So he trust himself to pay the price for sin thinking
If he's good enough then he can get on in
But oh, no he can't handle the weight
Cause the judgment of sin is too great
We broke the law, man we broke 'em all,
We deserve the penalty to get broken off
But He brought me back, took the cross for that,
Got me off the hook, told me walk in that
We all stand to stand trial so I stand and say loud
If you stand for anything then stand to stand down
And put your trust in the God above, even though we fall short
He's still a God of love
So what does this mean, we get loud for the Father,
Act wild for the Father, hands high for the Father
Because He put us where we s'posed to be,
He took Christ holiness and made clothes for me
And now that's close to me, like O to P,
Because the one who knew no sin got drove for me
So I run, run, for the One, One, represent for the Father get crunk, crunk
And let the world see your light mane, shine it bright mane,
Until they make a change and switch to the right lane
We asking ya, be ambassadors,
Preach Christ to the people like your pastor bruh
Don't pass Him up for the flashy stuff,
Getting caught up with yourself like a rapper does
So, serve the Father for the cost it took,
2 Corinthians 5: 21 we off the hook
[Hook:]
Off da hook, off da hook, off da hook, off da hook [x4]
Oh, we off da hook, oh, we off da hook,
Oh, you off da hook, oh, she off da hook
Oh, he off da hook, oh they off da hook,
[Hook:]
Do you feel? Do you feel like reppin Him now,
Because if no one did then I wouldn't be reppin Him now
But somebody did so dog I'm here reppin Him now,
Encouraging you as believers to start reppin Him now
[Repeat]
[Verse 1:]
Now I was dirty and lost in sin, all my sins I had sought for them,
Hunting girls with the softest skin, with the whip they be flossing in
Had no thoughts like incompetence, lust confusing my common sense
My flesh had the dominance telling me Go like Common Sense
I was lustful guy, trust me my eyes wandered like a nomad,
Taking snap shots like my eyes had came from Kodak
One of many struggles from my past like a throwback,
It's tough, it's a struggle but still a sin dog I know that
I was trippin getting caught up in the same old trap,
Unmortified sin suffering the same old crap
That's until my boy stepped in with the love of the Father,
Preaching the Jesus you hearing through these speakers and monitors
[Hook:]
Do you feel? Do you feel like reppin Him now,
Because if no one did then I wouldn't be reppin Him now
But somebody did so dog I'm here reppin Him now,
Encouraging you as believers to start reppin Him now
[Repeat]
[Verse 2:]
Now let me know if you in the mood yet,
And if you are then why is it you ain't moved yet?
Is it because you're amazed with this world of lust?
What does it take for you to see that this world is crushed?
I promise, we all die plus this world is snuffed,
But I struggled with this too until my world was crushed, so
Let's take a look at what's surrounding us,
And take a look at life's predicament that's drowning us
See we all born in sin but Christians are born again
So if your living's old living then live in the live again,
Delivered since we began to live in this til the end,
Defeated living is lifted to live it just live in Him
[Hook:]
Do you feel? Do you feel like reppin Him now,
Because if no one did then I wouldn't be reppin Him now
But somebody did so dog I'm here reppin Him now,
Encouraging you as believers to start reppin Him now
[Repeat]
[Verse 3:]
Do you feel like reppin Him now?
Souls are lost without the cross, times are treacherous now
Kids admire snowmen instead of reverends now,
They'd rather make instead of become the president now
Trap fights for trap spaces in your residence now,
Crack pipes and crack babies that's your evidence now
Ain't no time to recline learn the regimine now,
Just tell me partna do you feel like reppin Him now?
See the times are too tough ain't no stepping it down,
All of my cousins looking for clubs when they step into town
All the hoods infatuated with them rims that go round,
And Christians believe the lie, ain't no helping it now
But it's I who beg to differ the indifference found
Because I refuse to believe that God left us to drown
See, since He gave us His life then I present to Him mine
And because of His grace I feel like reppin Him now
[Hook:]
Do you feel? Do you feel like reppin Him now,
Because if no one did then I wouldn't be reppin Him now
But somebody did so dog I'm here reppin Him now,
Encouraging you as believers to start reppin Him now
[Intro:]
Yi-ah. I ain't a slave to you no more sin.
Yi-ah. Let's get it. There's some things I ain't gonna take no more.
T-dot! Let's get it.
[Verse 1:]
No more hang time or playin time,
Man it's 'bout to be gang time,
Hate you sin, you quench the spirit,
Done em both at the same time.
First you holla 'round with us,
Now my flesh starts risin up.
This why 1st corinthians was talking 'bout all that dyin stuff.
Sick of heartache, sick of pain,
Sick of you, I gotta quit this man,
But me and myself can do nothin without the Spirit man
Eyes having seen this, having heard in things revealed, by the Spirit dwellin withing me through which I'm sealed.
I no longer belong to you,
I'm not holdin on to you,
I fight with all His might through every night that I long for you.
I wrote this here song for you,
My hatred is strong for you,
My love for God is greater than the lust that I offer you.
Cause everything's wrong with you,
The world wanna roll with you
'stead of you slaving me the Holy Spirit's controllin you.
And this here I know is true,
The scriptures are showin you,
Since I belong to Christ I ain't gonna take this no more from you!
[Chorus:]
We not gonna take it no more
We not gonna take it no more
We not gonna take it no more
We not gonna take it no more
We not gonna take it no more
We not gonna take it no more
We not gonna take it no more
We not gonna take it no more
[Verse 2:]
Y'all, I remember thirsting for God,
Walking that sweet communion,
On and on my soul was longing for us to live this union.
Wanting nothing else in life except to just be with Him,
Felt like nothing in this world could ever compete with Him.
But I'm in college now, tryin to walk this out,
But it's harder now, can I talk to y'all?
I got caught in this mess, learning to walk in the flesh, and now I thirst for Him less, watchin her walkin in dress.
I saw the cross and how it took me from the worldly things, and how He told me to count loss the dress and hurt me things.
I know I wanna sin, but dog I'm born again,
And by grace He displaced my disgrace now it's on again.
So I'm gonna buffet my body make it my slave man,
Crucify my flesh daily till I see my grave man.
So I'm gonna fight and your games, I won't play them no more. To the world: listen up, we fed up, we won't take this no more!
[Chorus]
[Bridge:]
Yi-ah. You know what it is man, we free now!
We were once slaves to sin, but now we free to live in righteousness.
We ain't a slave to sin no more man. Yeah. Yeah.
[Outro:]
We ain't now slave to sin!
We ain't now slave to sin!
Don't get confused baby
Don't get confused [x4]
[Verse 1: Tedashii]
The gospel got me so good, I call it super straight
Was lame till He came, I know that you relate
Was dead to Him but lead to Him, He rejuvenates
Still can't believe He caught me up, yea elevated
That's how I know He got me, His love is never endin'
And that's just like the Gospel
It's for sure is never pending
Not just from my beginning,
Keeps me until I'm finished
Takes me way beyond the grave. I'm saved, eternal livin'
This goes beyond conversion, this gift just keeps on giving
Iad it makes no sense to start and stop. Now pop that clutch and shift it'
I'm hoping you don't miss it, this here is target practice.
I'm asking, "What good are Beats By Dre if you can't grasp this? "
(Hah, uh-uh) That ain't even right man
Play it to the left of lust, mental pics, tight frame
You crop it like a close-up, then chop it like the chorus
I'm tryna take you deep, call it Blacklight, mayne
[Chorus:]
Aye this that good news music,
We call it Gospel [x3]
Don't get confused baby
It's what He used to save me
It's what He used to keep me
(I, I, I) I need it daily
(You, You, You) You need it daily
(We, we, we) We need it daily
(They, they, they) They need it daily
(I) Yeah I need it daily
(They, they they) Yeah I need it daily
(You, you, you) You need it daily
(We, we, we) We need it daily
They need it daily
[Verse 2: PRo]
Boy let's get it clear, from the Lord's wrath I'm saved
Yeah I'm gucci mayne, no Waka Flocka Flame
So secure in the Lord, no frontin' for people
Cause you can die stuntin' (Die stuntin')
Evil Kenevil
In this New Jack City hold the world loosely
His Word keep callin' me, I'm itchin for it, call me Pookie
Satan try to trap us like "Go pursue sin"
I'm like "Silly rabbit, Trixs are for kids."
I know only in Christ we gon' be free
Through His blood we've been redeemed
Them chains no longer holdin' me (Soooo)
Clique for the squad, for the love of God, boy we rollin' 40 Deep (and) When I want to run the love of the son through the Helper, get a hold of me (see)
Christ died for us, we'll say He's a church fan
I'm talkin' Gospel, minus the church fan
I'd be a fool minus the Lord's hand
So I'm wrapped around His finger like a wedding band
[Chorus]
Gospel,
Grace through faith
Yo pro
They need it daily
It's the gospel
This why we good (Oh)
[Bridge:]
I'm good, I'm good
Let's get that understood
The Gospel got me right for life, that's right that's what it do
I'm good, I'm good
Let's get that understood
The Gospel got me right for life, that's right that's what it do
[John Piper]
I hear so many christians, murmuring about their imperfections, and their failures, and their addiction, and their shortcomings. And I see so little war! Murmur, murmur, murmur. Why am I this way? Make war!
[Tedashii]
Bang with me
Ba-bang bang, ba-bang with me
No more playing games man
Cause this thang can get risky
So man if you in christ
Take up!
Your cross quickly
Stand fearless on the frontline
Time to come with it
Do the right thing
Wake up!
And lets get it
I ain't even in the ring
They throwing bows like riddick
Persistently attacking me
They're even in the back of me
It's either fight or loose my life and I can't take this passively
So what you think I'm bout to do
I'm bout to do what I can do
Trust the one who got me through
And fight like it was after school
Never giving up
Steady, standing on the battle field
Feet firm to the ground like I stepped on chappel hill
Flesh feeling frisky, sin persuades and tempts me
Satan cheers me on
Guilt followed by conviction
It's the same ol' trap
And we fall like we defenseless
Work your senses
Grow in wisdom
Stand firm and be relentless
[Chorus]
I make war!
Cause sin never sleeps
It's got me in a trance
You can see it in my dreams
I make war!
Man I beat my flesh
To the death
Every breath
Like I beat my chest
I make war
Sun up
I make war
Sun down
I make war
Time in
I make war
Time out
I make war
Against lust
Against pride
Against me
Until I die
[Flame]
Do you even have a clue
What happened to you when he died
When that tomb got rolled when he rose in the sky
I think we emphasis sin so much
That it makes us paralyzed
And glorify struggle so much
That it makes us terrified
And deemphasize the fact that we have been sterilized from our own lives and thus
We gotta snap out of it
We aint in no straight-jacket
We free
When jesus died in our lives something strange happened
He gave us power
Yeah I know that we sinners but since he rose he's renewing the image of god in us
Now, we gotta start making war
Now we can start saying no
To them fleshy impulses that jesus christ is paying for
Now we can start taking the lead
Just like the dalai lama and start going all out like a suicide bomber
Whatever the sin is we gotta go go go harder
By his grace no time to waste and just just just like there's no tomorrow
[Chorus]
I make war!
Cause sin never sleeps
It's got me in a trance
You can see it in my dreams
I make war!
Man I beat my flesh
To the death
Every breath
Like I beat my chest
I make war
Sun up
I make war
Sun down
I make war
Time in
I make war
Time out
I make war
Against lust
Against pride
Against me
Until I die
[Verse 3]
I'm a christ representer, fin to stand and deliver
Cause a lot of my believers struggle with their agenda
So I dropped this on an adat
Just so you could come play back
A hit to be encouraged that rocks you with truth from, way back
So listen up to it asap
Like you do a lecrae track
I'm spittin' written visions to put on heads like a wave cap
Sinning, nawl we don't play that
Cause that's the way that a slave acts
I'm filled with the spirit so tell them dog this is pay back
As you begin to copy the carbon copies of christ
And conform to his written image you should be shinning a light
If you not, why is that?
Is it fear that's been grippin' you
Cause you scared they'll be dissin' you
Flipping birds while that spit at you
If you not, why is that?
It don't matter so bump it
Perfect love cast out fear and he ain't save us for nothing
This is a privilege (privilege)
Your life to give to him (give to him)
So stand firm for him dawg and lets get it in
[Chorus]
I make war!
Cause sin never sleeps
It's got me in a trance
You can see it in my dreams
I make war!
Man I beat my flesh
To the death
Every breath
Like I beat my chest
I make war
Sun up
I make war
Sun down
I make war
Time in
I make war
Time out
I make war
Against lust
Against pride
Against me
Until I die
[Hook:]
This is our lifestyle, working til our lights out
No 9 to 5 I'm His work at work I mean right now
Give me a clean heart Lord to show your attributes
I pray You take me out this life if I turn my back on You
[Verse 1:]
The Rock of Ages rocks this nation likes distorted basses,
My proclamation- God's amazing, His love drives me crazy
My occupation- teaching freedom from the blocks of slavery,
Like doctor's patients we need saving like adopted babies
Cause we're endentured dead walking to our devastation,
But call me Morgan I'm a freeman no more driving Daisy
And by His Spirit He enlightened my heart, gave me a start
And showed me that there's hope despite when it's dark, no lie
Cause prior to salvation I was walking in sin,
Just call me Treach because my nature was as naughty as his
And I was darkened within just like a house without the lights on,
Til God gave me life like your team when they hear the fight song
And now the fight's on, lifestyle reppin the Father,
If sin is Roy Jones then call me Antonio Tarver
Go harder than ballas in college who on scholarship
In order to know of the Father through more than just scholarship
[Hook:]
This is our lifestyle, working til our lights out
No 9 to 5 I'm His work at work I mean right now
Give me a clean heart Lord to show your attributes
I pray You take me out this life if I turn my back on You
[Verse 2:]
Hey now we crowd corners with Bibles spitting warnings through rhymes
With crowds forming bout the One that's coming
Saying bump it if rejected cause they drunk and in dejected,
Like Paul I'll endure it for the sake of the elected
Working for the Father because works should be the fruit of faith
And not the vice versa because works can't bring you saving grace
Then through regeneration it's like He changed the station,
He cleans your heart then fixes it to seek sanctification
Thus a new nature from the nomaly that's phenomenal,
Prodigal to adopted son so I'll go beyond the call
Aw ya'll done messed up and let us in your hood,
I rep the Savior who was hazed but He took the wood
This is my lifestyle, nope will never pipe down,
Until the day that I'm dead I'll cast out this lifeline
This is my lifestyle, nope will never pipe down,
Until the day that I'm dead I'll cast out this lifeline
[Hook:]
This is our lifestyle, working til our lights out
No 9 to 5 I'm His work at work I mean right now
Give me a clean heart Lord to show your attributes
I pray You take me out this life if I turn my back on You
[Verse 3:]
Elected and I'm born again, justified though born in sin,
Purchased with a price through Christ my life it now belongs to Him
His workmanship is seen through the workmanship of His work done,
Me a masterpiece of the Master's piece through His merked Son
Saved to works of righteousness, grace through faith ignited this,
There's no condemnation for those clothed in His Christ-likeness
Oh yes I'm a new creature, no sex lying with Sheba,
In Christ there's new life not through my might
But it's found in Jesus
Since I received His great salvation I'm His master work,
He surpassed my work passed me work, that's just how the Master works
Now like I'm in detention in school I'm in position,
New life new rights new sight new fight through Christ that's my description
So now I'll walk in the good works that have been prepared for me,
God'll work them out I just trust in faith that He's there for me
And live this life with boldness standing to proclaim His name
[Intro: Benjah]
I don't wanna be alone [x6]
[Verse 1: Tedashii]
Uh, tears hit her cheeks, like Tyson's glove,
Pain hits as hard, as she fights for love,
She says don't go, but the call came,
It's time to deploy, and they called his name,
Close to zero five-hundred, her mind starts wanderin'
Butterflies, tummy starts rumblin',
Queezy, uneasy, tryin' to hold it all together,
She doesn't want their last moments here to be unpleasant,
The car ride is quiet, outside it's hard to fight it,
Inside it's like she's dyin', that's when she started cryin',
He tries to comfort her, "Baby, it's alright" - "Liar! "
That's what she screams louder from the thoughts of fight,
They pray, it's okay, "I'll promise that I'll be safe" uh,
That's what he tells her as he looks her in the face
And as he walks away, lookin' in her eye
Last kiss as they say...
[Chorus: Benjah]
I pray this is not our last goodbye... goodbye
I pray this is not our last goodbye... goodbye
[Verse 2: Tedashii]
Uh, graduation; her nine weeks are done
Hoorah, hooplah, now it's time to move on
Leavin' out of basic, she just got her assignment
She's headed off to war and it's hard for her to face it
Or face her, the daughter that she's leavin'
It's hard to come to terms with the truth, no one believes it
And even when it's starrin' in ya face, you don't receive it,
She hears mommy, and it's just like her heart stopped beatin'
Beatin', beatin', inhales heavy breathin'
Worried when she leaves she may not be back to see them,
Her baby girl, and the family that she loves
Tryin' to hold back the tears right now is tough
She fights to stay strong, gotta hold on
She says a prayer, just tryin' to find a calm
Thoughts of eternity, then back to reality
And then she tells her family...
[Chorus: Benjah]
I pray this is not our last goodbye... goodbye
I pray this is not our last goodbye... goodbye
I don't want to be alone, I don't wanna,
I don't wanna be alone, no
[x8]
[Chorus]
Aww man y'all done messed up and let us in ya hood
To preach the way the truth the life in ya hood
Forget the 'lac with the steering wheel made of wood
It's time we see the truth of Christ in ya hood
[Verse One]
Aww man y'all done messed up and let us in ya hood
To preach the way the truth the life in ya hood
Forget the 'lac with the steering wheel made of wood
It's time we see the truth of Christ in ya hood
I'll never stop what I'm doing
Grooving moving for Jesus
Steady grindin in the streets just to reach all of my peoples
Momma, daddy, sister, brother, uncle, cousin and them
It's time we get it in for Jesus, start a buzz up for him
Man, but somethings always stopping ya, maybe your love for sin
Or the lack of love you showing when you cursing at men
Man how holy is he to you, how impressed by him are you
Is your life a story all about him or dawg does it star you
The answers your actions, the fruit of your passions
Plus the prove of the facts and who it is that you casting
Make a switch, change your role
116 became the mold
The word to the Colossians to know God is in control
[Chorus]
[Verse Two]
Hey dawg its T-dot, coming from the street block
Just to rep the chief rock, cause I think that he's not
In the place where he's got the chief spot
In ya life like the top
Cause life is all headed for the end like the sign that reads stop
It's ashes to ashes and dust to dust
You breathe in breathe out, then its back to the dirt
The fact of the earth is life is nothing more than vain glory
Your born, you suffer, you die, it's the same story
So come on dawg get closer to the life of this teacher
The preacher, savior, creator, our lord, king, and our leader
Of this holy culture movement, man we might insult when
You hear that to make it in you gotta go through him
Your a sinner, he's the Savior, your created, He's creator
But no matter how you spin it, you gone have to meet the maker
[Chorus]
[Verse Three]
It goes love, joy, hope and peace
My motivation for the ministry while hitting the streets
Man, we aliens, souled out on a mission fishing for heathens
Representing the kingdom, I'm praying that this truth can reach them
Like a telegram message that was sent through the wire
Or a Pauline Epistle thats divinely inspired
Cause all men need Jesus just like air to your lung
So in order to truly live dawg I dare you to come
Stop trying to do it yourself like McNabb on the run
Cause no man is worthy enough to compare to the Son
Or foot the bill for our sin that no money can pay
So all your good works now are worthless without faith
And, only Jesus Christ can truly free Pimp C
Even if he get up out of prison dawg he still ain't free
So remember without him we're a heartbeat from hell
Confess the name and rep him well before your heartbeat fails
All rise, for the coming of the king of the Jews
Sixteen saints salute for Him bringin' the truth
Hold up for a minute put your focus on Him
The selah for a second to catch more than a glimpse
Of the one placed higher than the angels in heaven
Pre-eminent so dawg that means He never comes second
Nothing should ever replace or overshadow this God
Ever reduce or lower his position as God
Man He's holy, plus divine with all splendor
It's time Jesus Christ becomes your life's true center
The focus of your life so that your life be permanent
Pause
And peep this God that made the world and the firmament
Man, I'll put this on my momma, He'll blow that mind
Watch as I paint the picture for ya, it's Kodak time
If you ever wondered who He was, then know that now
No interruption take the sweets and heats and throw that down
[Chorus:]
How can you hear about this God dawg and not get impressed?
The one that gave the sky it's height and the ocean it's depth
The one that hung all of the planets plus the moon and the sun
And let you hear this song that you might commune with the Son
So tell me what you seeing when you looking at God
Is it Yahweh the indescribable, unspeakable God
Or dawg, is it Elohim, all sovereign and majestic
The provident creator with a six day checklist
Or maybe the King of Kings up on the side of the Father
With nail prints in his hands cause He decided to bother
Or do you look and see someone who ain't no better than you
Well if you the focus dawg I suggest you better your view
How you gon' act like you compare to Him?
You don't compare to the Seraphim that cherish Him
Man, you got two lungs that still need air in them
The bottom line dawg, when you looking at God
You should see the king of glory not a midst or a fog
Not Father Time with the long beard and a clock
And not this passive Jesus Walks that you hear in hip hop
But the God of the Bible Isaiah saw in Chapter 6
Who got a glimpse and said "God is Holy, I need to repent"
[Chorus:]
How can you hear about this God dawg and not get impressed?
The one that gave the sky it's height and the ocean it's depth
The one that hung all of the planets plus the moon and the sun
And let you hear this song that you might commune with the Son
Man, I've been looking for a minute how we impressed with things
Plus ourself, so we came to address this thing
We came to rep Him so dawg you would bless the King
And be impressed like Frodo was with the ring
Like the Phanatik, take time dawg and think on these things
Think about how you're a sinner and you need to be clean
We sons of Adam fallen sinners and deserve to be killed
Man, we couldn't keep the standard cause perfection His will
He is coming back for all of the cats
That allowed Christ to be they ransom and satisfy God's wrath
But, we'd rather think the Bible's all about us
Instead of Jesus whom God said put all of your trust
Man stop coming up to God cause you think He'll bless ya
Man stop coming up to God cause you want something extra
It's time he impressed ya, and not because of all that He's done
But because of who He is dawg, the Glorious One
[Chorus:]
How can you hear about this God dawg and not get impressed?
The one that gave the sky it's height and the ocean it's depth
The one that hung all of the planets plus the moon and the sun
[Verse 1: Stephen the Levite]
I remember before my church started
A season that I called the darkness
Saved but still living in bondage
Not know the problem was not just my pride and lust,
But that life was so autonomous
But at Epiphany I had an epiphany
Realizing community was the way it was meant to be; why?
In the beginning He who gave us identity was,
Eternally, co-existing as the Trinity
Saying it's not good for man to be alone
It's impossible for Him to model us on His own
He gave man a companion not a clone
Commanding reproduction, expansion, and a throne
And now the new Adam is starting it all over
Sparking it with bride who glorifies Jehovah
Submit, you wanna know who you are then know your role cause
Your ID's in Christ and Christ is part of a whole bruh
[Hook:]
Back back, them church boys are back
Oh! That's that the new life is that
Oh! FOTU with my crew till He comes back
Oh! Live in community, walk in community
Back back, them church boys are back
Hey! That's that the new life is that
Hey! FOTU with my crew till He comes back
Hey! Live in community, walk in community
[Verse 2: Sho Baraka]
Before Real Talk were Ambassadors chopping
Up that milk and meat, having all things in common
Before church planting was an option
Before the albums start dropping
We were in community stomping
Patience with your boy when I was loud and obnoxious
Before I turned my life up in at a concert
Before I learned the truth over nonsense
Before I hit a stage they were caution
Accountability, yeah awesome not produce a man selfish or pompous
Know the process of Learning the scriptures in it's context
Bible study sometime it made me nauseous
But know I never grow sick of spitting up those synoptics
Constantly keeping others upon my conscious
Being honest not just robbing them of their knowledge
Promise to serve one another in righteous conduct
It's common sense I'm something like a communist.
[Hook:]
Back back, them church boys are back
Oh! That's that the new life is that
Oh! FOTU with my crew till He comes back
Oh! Live in community, walk in community
Back back, them church boys are back
Hey! That's that the new life is that
Hey! FOTU with my crew till He comes back
Hey! Live in community, walk in community
[Verse 3: Tedashii]
Give me a sec just to put it in perspect'
He's God, and He deserves more than just your check
He deserves your breath, every one you'll ever get
We deserve death, something (by grace) we'll never get
So, hands, devoted, cause He rose and beat death
We could be right-handed but we all went left
See in order to redeem me He gave up Himself
So I'm laying on the altar till they lay me to rest
What you expect, man we give God our best
Plus, knowing Him, is how we know our, self
So, we learn of Him in the way that He set
Up, so we can get it, Christian fellowship
As I imitate God and conform more to Christ
In the bond of community, I look more like
Him (Him), Him (Him), and the image I was meant to have
Praise God for the Church, showing me just me who I am
[Hook:]
Back back, them church boys are back
Oh! That's that the new life is that
Oh! FOTU with my crew till He comes back
Oh! Live in community, walk in community
Back back, them church boys are back
Hey! That's that the new life is that
Hey! FOTU with my crew till He comes back
[Hook 1: Rick Trotter]
(Go through the motions)
Steppin' in and I'm checkin' out the scene,
Fresh pressed, creased out, man you know yo' boy be clean (clean);
Hand claps, toe tappin' while the choir raise a song,
Folks shoutin' now the reverend's up you know it won't be long
Passa holler bout a hour and I'm thankin' bout the game
People peepin at the clock (whoop) every Sunday it's the same
Alter call, preacher's hoopin', church open up the doors
Leave a tip then I dip, next week I'm back fo' mo'
Church!
[Verse 1: Tedashii]
Steppin' out the house so fresh, clean
Tailored suites and gator boots, Italian names in the inseam
Summer heat encumber teens, forced to wear them pants with pleats
Sunday morning uniform, like we soldiers, like Marines
Off to Sunday School with mama 'nem, like it was a job for them
I'd hear the same Word but different meanings like with homonyms
Time and time again, cause I'm praying that the time would end
Man Saturday must be my crime, my Sunday's doing time again
You feel me man, I know you do, some of y'all still going through
Most of us just learn the motions just so we can make it through
I mean, no one ever showed us how this thing was vital for life
And that the church was not a building, but the body of the Christ
[Dialogue: Jacki Walker]
Man, you hear that?
Did you hear that?
It's so dope.
But we just don't get it.
Something this good... man.
[Hook 2: Rick Trotter]
(Go through the motions)
Same time each week
Jesus must know me
'Cause I'm heatin' up a seat
In the church, church
(Sunrise, eleven thirty
You can be late but don't leave early)
(Go through the motions)
The Devil is a hater
He can't touch me
'Cause I'm blessed and highly favored
Church, church
(I've got to be in that place
Sunday I'm gon' show my face in the church)
[Spoken Word: Ron Surgeon]
The Church, chosen in Christ in eternity.
The Church is not a building, it's breathing.
Maturing Christians in communal living,
Helping babes that are teething.
You can have perfect attendance in the seat of the building
And not be a part of this.
You can attend the building and not be a part of the body of Christ... it's obvious.
I'm blessed and highly favored and because of this
Jesus Christ is blessed and highly treasured.
The greatest gift that God could give is God...
[Hook: Rick Trotter]
Come and listen to a story that gots to be told
A boy left by his father in a world so cold
Til the good news told him that he had been chose
And this is how the story goes, story goes
[Verse 1: Tedashii]
Natural born evil to reborn group of people,
How does he do it, call him - call him the redeemer
There's no equal, He's higher than every creature
In heaven or hell, and the earth can't hold him either
He's so regal, out soars every eagle
I'm so impressed with Him I'll be looking for his sequel
His name's Jesus, in case you missed it here's the prequel
This God-man was the lamb used so God could free us
So here's my thesis, through faith we're like a fetus
Reborn and adopted through Christ, that's how He sees us
With good reason He embraced us and received us
He guaranteed it even before time had a season
I can't believe it, it feels like I'm dreaming
Entitled to every right, co-heir to the Kingdom
It's truly legal, God rigged it so we would need Him
He's the father I always wanted, I know He'll never leave me
[Verse 2: Tedashii]
Wheew, now here we go, truth up in a thrilla flow
The word became flesh and then flesh was fleshed our among us bro (Jesus)
All knowing savior, the savior straight from the making
That can see inside our hearts to get past the faking
Ain't no lying, ain't no cheating, ain't no hiding, He can see you
He knows everything about us, ain't no secrets
He knows what's inside of man, all the lies inclined to man
All wise, all seeing, still he chose to abide in man
I'm blown away when I think on how my soul was saved
Like a movie I can see it, like it was yesterday
Caught up in a major way, sort of like I had a date
God booked the appointment and rigged it in a player way
Grace through faith did more than just account for me
It placed me in His family and gave me my identity
Who am I? I'm a child of the king
Co-heir with the savior, adopted and redeemed
He gave me a brand new life
Forgiven me of all I've done
[Intro:]
Let's tell 'em!
I'm a believer hey
We gotta let them know
Hey to all God's people
I'm a believer!
[Verse 1: Tedashii]
This right here don't make no sense
You ain't gotta guess baby that I'm His
Crucified, died, now alive in Him
I done put my faith in Him homie till the end
Now the new life, I live in Christ
It's because of Him, ya boy shines so bright
You can keep the ring and the chains and the ice
Camp's main campaign ain't to pop champagne, that's lame, no game
Homie I rep Christ, you can peep my lyrics and the way that I write
I surrendered everything, even my rights
I count it all lost just so I can know Christ
Or better yet baby just so that He can know me
As a son coming home from prodigal to free
Free from my sin that's the end of my grief
I'm a believer so best believe this is me
Even at the cross Jesus took my place
He didn't deserve it, I guess that's what we call faith
I did deserve it, I guess that's what you call grace
He did it for certain and guaranteed my place in Him
And then seated me on high
In the end baby I'll be caught up in the sky on a dime,
In the twinkling of an eye, I'll be found in the air with my savior Jesus Christ
I'm a believer
I'm a believer no doubt
I'm a believer yeah
I'm a believer hear me out
I'm a believer yeah
I'm a believer yeah yeah
He came into my life and I never thought twice
He's all that I have and I'm willing to fight
I stare at them like... I'm a believer
[Verse 2: Trip Lee]
Some might know me as a rapper some might know me as a southern dude
Others as a black man, but first I got another crew
Ever since I heard the Gospel message how the Son was bruised,
I got a new identity, it's like your boy's another dude
We ain't undercover brother, come and see us trust the Truths
That we stand under brother, other things adjust and move
Some say we dumb for trusting Christ, they say we just some fools,
But you can check His grave if you want it proved, ooh
We ain't perfect at all nah, we recognize this life's hard
The difference is instead of drowning, we trust the Life Guard
We fight hard, but with the right perspective as we walk this
Christ, He works in us like an office, so I'm a believer
I'm a believer
I'm a believer no doubt
I'm a believer yeah
I'm a believer hear me out
I'm a believer yeah
I'm a believer yeah yeah
[Verse 3: Tedashii]
So in the end, hey this is me, I ain't that cat that you seen on TV
I ain't that rapper, model, actor, baller, none of them defines me
I'm a believer, known to the One that exist in three
Co-heir to the kingdom, this means I'm the King's son, partner, that's what defines me
Identity – crucified, choose to die, now the life that I live, not I
But it's this flesh, He laid to rest, through faith, I live by Christ
[Trip Lee]
I'm quite sure your mama told you not trust just anybody
But tell me who is like the Lord? Not anybody
I took a look at Him in the Scriptures, this really got me
He keeps His promises, even though cats be living sloppy
Look at His love, and His grace, and His just mercy
I was dirty, till I trusted Him who's trustworthy
I'm a believer
I'm a believer no doubt
I'm a believer yeah
I'm a believer hear me out
I'm a believer yeah
[Verse 1:]
We done came up in the game to rep the name, that's the norm,
Not ya big body Lac, fat paper sacks, or your charm
Not your lady-like diva you use to keep you warm
And not the fat happy sack of doja to keep you calm
While you big daddy grilling 'em, Sprewell spinning 'em,
Cadillac killing 'em, the Lord ain't felling 'em
See He's the King and your rocks ain't work a thing
Yet you rock the bling, but you ain't gon' mock the King
Cause the rocks would sing before He let you block His thing,
Man just watch the scene because the Rock He is the King And He throwed,
But you busy worshiping chrome, thick yella bones in the zone
Trying to live life on your own
And the Lord's chilling watching man trust himself while we all sinning,
We front like we don't need His help
But we all missing the fact that trusting in yourself
While you called Christian is still sin in itself
[Hook:]
Houston we have a problem, we have a problem,
Houston we have a problem, we have a problem
[Verse 2:]
Now you know that you should leave the streets,
Puffing sweets, chasing cash from week to week,
But you won't because you fiend to see your dreams
Owning a house at that place where you can see the beach
And easily get them girls that you can see that leave the beach
So she can be your stand for one night in between the sheets
And then you leave, hop inside your 'Lac so you can peep the scene
You keep it clean gripping on the grain as you sip the lean,
Swanging mean, sinning like a pimp? Brush your shoulders off
You can live like a boss, you can floss like a boss,
Pay the cost to rep the North, rock a cross and still be lost
Cause without the savior no neighbor no paper, no Jacob no make-up
Could make up the break up, but make us forsake the Creator
That's why we need a Savior that's why I'm hollering out Jesus,
Drowning in our sin and we need Him to come retrieve us
Believe us, it's time you stopped trusting in yourself,
Plus your wealth, lay aside every weight before you crush yourself
[Hook:]
Houston we have a problem, we have a problem,
Houston we have a problem, we have a problem
[Verse 3:]
So meet the thesis for my reading the bottom line is you need Him,
Plus we're weak and we feening by nature to keep on leaving,
Chasing beauty that's fleeting forsaking how we are breathing
Replacing Jesus with bondage, like boppers, dollars, and pieces
He died to bring us all freedom and rose so we could all meet Him,
I know you heard this on Easter, but feast your eyes on the reason
God would crucify His seeding when we ain't nothing but heathens,
Love made Him cling to a tree when we deserved to be beaten
All that so we ain't gotta trust ourself, trust our health, trust our wealth,
It don't even make no sense cause it's gon' rust and melt
Is it the grain, is it the gal, is it the grill?
Or is it Christ who paid the price so you could live
Or would you rather burn up in Hell for a mill?
I doubt it, you missing that Christians are only Christians in Him
Although we live forever right now we living better,
[Verse 1: Tedashii]
Remember when we were kids saying things that were did
By me and you, but too ashamed to admit that th-th-they were fibs
Sippin' on Mr. Pibb playing with neighbors kids
And I front to fall asleep so I could chill at your crib
House parties like play and kid listening to Gangster Nip
Tripping off Ghetto Boys how they mind kept playing tricks
Hide and seek with my sister's friends Tonight like DJ Quick
Natural born sinners slowly loosing our innocence
This was all just the start of it like working with a starter kit
I went from bad to worse when I saw Cube put on that Starter fit
Pressure started marching in cause all my friends were part of it
It seduced me even more like a girl who plays hard to get
"Cool" gave my heart a kiss told me, give my all to this
Did it all so I felt obligated to be part of this
Anything to garner this stardom that was hard to miss
Fartherless, so Hollywood guided, through the dark abyss
[Hook: Rozie Turner]
Stepped in the cineplex just passed the Cinnabon fin' to see what's playing next (yes)
HOLLYWOOD
(Hey) I got my butter and my popcorn my crew is with me and we feeling like it's not wrong
HOLLYWOOD
Like it's so cool to watch upcoming attractions, blinded by the distractions
Don't be so complacent with cheap imitations, need godly inspiration so we can't replace it,
With HOLLYWOOD
[Verse 2: Tedashii]
Remember when we were kids saying things that were did
By me and you, but too ashamed to admit that th-th-they were fibs
Hooping up at the gym lust had us chasing Kim
Acting hard but riding clean bumping that BoysIIMen
Watching the latest films Quote it and take it in
Lustful flesh had us actin gangsta like Doughboy did
Lived like them boys in the hood but stayed trill
Out the Tre, so you can say I'm Furious Styles kid
My Love Jones was shy but my Justice was Poetic
All I needed was the Juice and then my Blues would be Mo' Better
I would listen to the Preacher's Wife but I'd go back like Boomerang
My set would Set It Off and we'd be right back in that New Jack swang
Pride of Life had me like O-Dog and Higher Learning guided me
Momma said Lean On Me but I'm a Menace to Society
All that "drama" mixed with sinning, the women with them in linen
Seem to spark a cycle unrivaled and never ending (ending)
[Hook: Rozie Turner]
Stepped in the cineplex just passed the Cinnabon fin' to see what's playing next (yes)

[Verse 3: Tedashii]
I been learning from this teacher, since I was in the nursery
A victim of it's preaching cause she said she'd give the world to me
At least that's what I thought I heard Hollywood was celebrated
She could easily mess up the lines of real and imitation
And like Adam, we ate the fruit of prideful racketeering
Just so we could all see Eve without the leaves and bangled earrings
It's the lies that they tell you, you start to believe
And if truth is what you make it then you're ready to receive
A slave to the trade sinful ways cause of this artistry
Until I met the One, who was knocking at my hearts entry
Some say He's unattractive when compared to the glitz and glam
But, I was glad to look behind the bush to see a ram
Who set me free from sin, along with false identity
Because until we know the Savior, God is our enemy
So don't let the world and it's devices, advise you
Instead trust the truth of the Father found in the bible
[Hook: Rozie Turner]

Ye-ye-ye-yep, yes He's Alive From the dark to the light, sunrise Everybody who be driven they thinkin' that He's gone Gonna be in for a big surprise Walla, uh huh, right there before they eyes He'll be back, ain't cut no slack for the cats who try to hide Lies; that's what they say I drop, cats so lost Caught up with they-selves but they rebel Yes sir they gon' be shocked-shock, clear
They dead now, can't live just on that bread, naw I chokehold what He said now I'm His pupil yes no retina He done preached it from the mountain and three thousand all believed it And He called me on the campus, and I answered and received Him From the witnesses that seen Him, to the heathens who not preach Him The proof is in the change; unashamed, that's how we reach em' And so I stand up, I will never stand down Worship with my hands up, humbled by Him, man down Yes sir, that is it, I will never call it quits Pressin' on, that's how I know I'm His and that He lives
[Chorus:]
He lives I-I-I am so glad He lives Might say that He died, but He rose again R-r-rose again, He's alive And now that I'm dead to my sin In me is a place He can live I'll serve Him until He comes back again B-b-b-back again, He's alive I'll tell em' that, I'll tell em' that He lives
What's that gotta do with me, huh? I'm just tryna stack my bread I ain't bother nobody or robbin' nobody like I done just got out the feds I heard what the preacher done said (what's that?) That Jesus popped outta the grave But what does that have to do with me and all of these bills that gotta get paid? And all of these mouths I gotta feed? Plus my old lady complainin' I'm tryna live kinfolk, although I see what you sayin'
But if you see what I'm sayin', then you would know it is Truth, positive that the God man really is, who He say He is Took on human flesh and hit the Earth Lived the perfect life, first, then He took that crucifix Then He resurrected; that validated that He is God Did you say Jesus is God? Yes I said Jesus is God! So, what that means is, all, human beings is His creation, we should praise Him for His patience then repent All you gotta do now just confess Turn from your sin put your soul to rest He resurrected, you get forgiveness Give Him your all and nothing less
Three days... Just enough to make these people say He gone He wrong, He on His own, He left us here, we all alone But naw... You got it twisted Clear like the sky but I guess you missed it But we ain't done yet, 'til there ain't none left, be patient, hope you listen Cause when He touch down, no replay You should run now, no relay Who can turn down, what He say? Man I'm turned up Know He lay out the grave, that's the reason I am saved
Not for rules so I behave, but so I can be remade In His image, I am finished, period, minus the sentence Through repentance in an instant I'm so helped, call it Christian Cause He lived, I know that's real You sayin' prove it, peep the movement Unashamed 'til the end, I'll tell em' that He lives
I'll tell em' that I'll tell em' that He lives [x3]
I'll tell em' that, I'll tell em' that I'll tell em' that He lives [x3]
I'll tell em' that, I'll tell em' that, I'll tell em' that He lives I'll tell em' that He died, I'll tell em' that He rose, and I'll tell em' He's alive I'll tell em' that He lives [x3]
Man... I know it gets hard sometimes
And to be honest this life doesn't seem that fair at times
But I understand that we serve a great God who's sovereign
He's got everything in control and, even though it looks dim man, trust in Him
We grew up on the same block, handling the same rock
The Skip to My Lou, my little crew on the black top
My big homie [?], always dying for me,
Older, so I looked up to him dawg he was like family
The coolest of the cool, and, almost through his school but,
During the last week he got broken off with the heat
Now he's gone and his kids are left alone
It's got me peeping Solomon for more than just his Song Ecclesiastes
I wish I could turn back the hands of time
For all the people who lost a loved one
And felt like they was gone before they time
But instead I'll encourage us to put our trust in Jesus
And know that God is sovereign it all happens for a reason
Keep your eyes to the hills and believe that help is on the way
Although the sky is black, He promises a brighter day
Weeping man, endure for a night
I know it's hard to wait patiently,
So I pray He strengthens you in the wait
[Hook:]
When you feel all alone
When your father's not at home
When your joy turns to gray
You can turn and call on Jesus name
Cast your burdens on the Lord
When life seems too hard
He won't allow you to be moved
And I know He will sustain you.
There's so much pain the city streets, check the city peeps
We're in perilous times which means that pain is sure to increase
So I, do this ballad for the beautiful babies gone now
And for the families who too afraid to leave home now
Like the family in Chicago who's daughter was ten
And at a birthday party, she was taken from them
I write this song for my neighbors on this side of my state,
Who had lives, but watched Katrina wash it away.
Plus, I know the pain of a life without your father
Even have the chance to meet him but you think why even bother
Because you don't really miss nothing you never really had
But that thinking leaves you lonely, still longin' for your dad
Man, if we would only take the truth of text
Read Lamentations 3: 32 for the rest
And see the truth that the Father loves us
Even though He brings calamity, He gives us compassion like hugstaz
[Hook:]
When you feel all alone
When your father's not at home
When your joy turns to gray
You can turn and call on Jesus name
Cast your burdens on the Lord
When life seems too hard
He won't allow you to be moved
And I know He will sustain you.
We live in a world, and when it rains and pours - I know it does man
And when bad things happen to good people in this world man
When the poor get poorer and the richer have the upper hand
Where pain is related to actions, so no one moves and
It's hard for us to understand the ways of life
Take my cousin last year for example when she lost her life
To a drunk diver, now she was sweeter than Godiva
They said she died on impact and this dude was the survivor
I recognize, that life brings pain that will cease for a time
And then it returns but we long for a consistent peace of mind (Lord)
So I present Jesus for those who feel burdened
The same God who allows evil, steps sin and gets spurned for it
Ambassador said one day we will cry no more
But in the meantime go and cast your cares on the Lord!
'Cause he cares for you, psalms 55 and 22 (psalm 55: 22)
Gives us the proof that this God will see you through.
[Hook:]
When you feel all alone
When your father's not at home
When your joy turns to gray
You can turn and call on Jesus name
Cast your burdens on the Lord
When life seems too hard
He won't allow you to be moved
And I know He will sustain you.
Amen. He cares man. Even when it seems dark, He cares.
The Father loves us. He cares for us man.
[Verse 1:]
Folks having hard times, living in the world so cold
Life dealt them cards now, people trying hard not to fold
Pressures their heart now, feels like they 'bout to explode
While feeling down they asking, "Is this the life that I chose? "
It seems so unfair, man we just trying to survive
But it's like no one cares, we living life just to die
And when I come share that Jesus cares about your life
Their heart is hard, they disbelieve
And they filled with too much pride to cry out
LORD, I surrender my all, or cry
LORD, will you answer my call
Cause this life is not easy, God why I gotta be me
It's hard for me to trust cause when I do somebody leaves me
See, life without Christ is not life, it's daydreaming
Day in and day out
I see people sitting, thinking, drinking tall
Day in and day out
I see people sitting, thinking, drinking tall ounces
Trying to figure out, why is this the way the ball bounces
[Hook:]
Everywhere I go it's still the same song
Everybody getting by, trying to hold on
To a life that He gives
Doubting who is
Don't doubt, don't doubt
You gotta believe
[Repeat]
[Verse 2:]
LORD peep the hood child, Rocking Ones with an ice grill
Folks say he should smile, his mug's mean cause life is
He wants that good life, a Cadillac truck with nice rims
And the culture says to get it, live like the thugs live
A hustler's ambition, since the day he was born
I wished it was different, is this place really the norm
So when I go witness, God's forgiveness seems foreign
And his heart is dark, he disagrees and he's filled with too much scorn to cry
LORD, will you take me as I am or cry
LORD, can you make me a new man
Cause this life is so greasy, God why I gotta be me
Why can't I be that dude I saw rapping on the TV
Questions by some who blind to the grace that freed me
Day in and day out
I see people sitting, thinking, drinking tall
Day in and day out
I see people sitting, thinking, drinking tall ounces
Trying to figure out, why is this the way the ball bounces
[Hook:]
Everywhere I go it's still the same song
Everybody getting by, trying to hold on
To a life that He gives
Doubting who is
Don't doubt, don't doubt
You gotta believe
[Repeat]
[Verse 3:]
This world is gone pass away, so LORD my prayer is they get it
You could probably come back today and a lot of these folks just might miss it
Caught up in their worldly ways, not knowing they could change in an instance
It just takes faith to get in this, but it's been replaced by religion
So cats remain blind, thinking that their works just might save
Some just stay high, thinking there's no way You would take 'em
Saying it's a hard life, complaining when I go witness and I ask them,
What if God did this so He could get your attention, so you'd cry
LORD I confess and believe
Or cry, LORD I see it's you that I need
Cause change is so hard and life is mean in these streets
And it seems there is no God, but see since Adam and Eve
Mankind is so lost, confused on the path they should walk
And so... day in and day out
I see people sitting, thinking, drinking tall
Day in and day out
I see people sitting, thinking, drinking tall ounces
Trying to figure out, why is this the way the ball bounces
[Hook:]
Everywhere I go it's still the same song
Everybody getting by, trying to hold on
To a life that He gives
Doubting who is
Don't doubt, don't doubt
You gotta believe
[Intro:]
I see You're all I need Father, God I see You're all I need (All I need)
God, God you're all I need to tell the truth LORD You're all I need (All I need)
[Verse 1: Tedashii]
They said I was going crazy on the campus when You saved me
Cause I stopped partying, chasing all the ladies
And they told me I was loosing it calling me a lunatic
Because, for you, that world; I told them I was through with it
Man I heard the rumors calling me a joke
I'm praying saying, I wish they knew what I know
Cause if they did they would see, how you were meant to be
Much more than the god of emergencies
You're the God that elected me chose, and selected me
When nobody else would mess with me
Never neglected me you even loved me when you corrected me
Hands down you're the best to me
I spent years of my life trying to be liked or be like the people who seemed to be liked
Following the crowd, trying to be allowed Into a world where every thing seemed right
But,
[Hook: Chris Davis]
I wrote this song to tell you LORD
You're all I need (You're all I need)
(God) And I know you'll never fail me LORD You're all I need
And when the time gets crazy and my vision gets hazy Father
You're all I need (You're all I need)
When my life needs saving or the world starts to cave in around me
You're all I need (You're all I need, You're all I need)
[Verse 2: Tedashii]
From saving me to raising me, shaping me and changing me
Embracing me, taking me, making me yours
Amazingly and graciously when I was lost and wavering
Couldn't get from A to B you opened the door
I deserved to be left there in distress with the rest there
Right there in my mess yeah
Still believing all the lies the world can satisfy
I almost died, pushing you to the side
What a fool, making crazy moves about to lose, all I had for a buzz and a thrill
We too easily satisfied and that's just how Adam died, He was in the place where the love wasn't real
But the more I get to know You the more I get to know truth
And through you I see who I am
My identity revealed as you show me how to live, through the example of the God-man
That's why,
[Hook: Chris Davis]
I wrote this song to tell you LORD
You're all I need (You're all I need)
(God) And I know you'll never fail me LORD You're all I need
And when the time gets crazy and my vision gets hazy Father
You're all I need (You're all I need)
When my life needs saving or the world starts to cave in around me
You're all I need (You're all I need, You're all I need)
[Outro: Tedashii]
You're all I need Father God I see you're all I need (All I need)
God, God you're all I need to tell the truth LORD
You're all I need (All I need)
And when the time gets crazy and my vision gets hazy Father
You're all I need (You're all I need)
When my life needs saving or the world starts to cave in around me
Yes sir, I'm goin on and on, get it in, yeah you know we do
Commissioned in the imaged 'til we finish, gonna bring em truth
Represent, cliqued out, 40 deep off in the streets
Bring em heat with no piece, get it to em with no priest
Yeahh, with no drama baby, that's just since he flipped the script
Tryin'to reach em where they at, boulevard or the strip
Anchorhome sunnyside, from Trinity to P.A.
From Somoa to Angola to the soldiers on the base
It's His grate, that is it, the way that we are saved
I will shout it from the roof 'til they put me in the grave
It don't matter, it's whatever, I will tell em that He raised
That's the power off the Gospel, the reason I'm unashamed
20... 4/7... Days a week
3... 65... Yeah you know me
I get it goin', goin' til I'm gone, goin' til I'm gone [x2]
I get it - 20... 4/7... Days a week
3... 65... Yeah you know me
I get it goin... goin til I'm gone, goin til I'm gone [x2]
I get it...
Wonderfully redeemed, but in the hood I m a vet.
Used to vibe on them pills, used to puff on the wax
You know we get it goin... On your mark, ready, set
This is just the beginnin', you ain't seen nothing yet
All I know is the callin', [?] is my city
Man I keep it so Lou for the Kingdom I grizzly
If I'm lyin' I'm flyin, I salute to the troops
We go hard on the block, not just up in the booth
I'm on the block with the dough boys
Who fightin the dope charge
Hopin the word he hear will help him see the LORD
Till the day my casket's ready and I'm in the dirt
24... 65... we be puttin' in work!
20... 4/7... Days a week
3... 65... Yeah you know me
I get it goin', goin' til I'm gone, goin' til I'm gone [x2]
I get it - 20... 4/7... Days a week
3... 65... Yeah you know me
I get it goin... goin til I'm gone, goin til I'm gone [x2]
I get it...
Beat bangin... Yeah I represent Him
He was dead, but now He is risen
So I will tell the world of His grace and mercy
Livin' water what you need, yeahh man you lookin' thirsty
I'm tryin' to help them see, but they blinded by they sin
Let it go... Yeah it's likely either way I'm goin' in
Every day man I'm on it, (like the pavement with homies?)
Dippin grippin the corner, You can say what you wanna
Yeah I'm holdin it down, tryin' to let my light shine
If you thinkin that I'm trippin baby won't you come 'round?
I'm just doin' my thing, out here workin' for change
Yeah whatever they sayin, I be reppin' His name
20... 4/7... Days a week
3... 65... Yeah you know me
I get it goin', goin' til I'm gone, goin' til I'm gone [x2]
I get it - 20... 4/7... Days a week
3... 65... Yeah you know me
I get it goin... goin til I'm gone, goin til I'm gone [x2]
Homeboy! When I walk, when I talk man it's more than just a show
This is life, reaf life, I'm not Truman that's fo' sho'
[?] loco at home, long distance, on the road
Overseas, around the globe, yep, that's just how it go
Oh! I keep runnin' but my legs feel weak
Feel like I'm gon' slip, this a trip; leg sweep
But give up, I don't know the phrase, get up like the Sun was raised
That's just what I do since He got up from the grave
Goin' smart, arithmatic, do the math, watch it add up
Me and Him, that's a deal I couldn't pass up
Ay when I'm weak, He strong, ay when He right, I'm wrong
In Him I am too, man I knew that all along
So trust in Him, man His strength can go long
This call is too expensive, E.T. phone home
But He paid the bill, and put me on His plan
Now when I fall, when I ball, I get up by His hand
When we fall, GET UP!
'Cause this ain't all, GET UP!
It might be hard, but I gotta stand tall, GET UP!
Stay on the grind, GET UP!
Ay all the time, GET UP!
Don't let it duke it'll pull ya to the ground, GET UP!
Knock him dowm, get him up! [x8]
Leggo! I tell 'em get up, don't snooze or sleep
Let up, why? Better strive
Head to the road that's narrow so you can see what I seen with better eyes
[?] your shadow feelin' your pain in a way that'll never die
Christ is [?] is easy as is televised
No, be strong in the grace that is found solely in He
Man, that spirit rose from the grave, it's safe to say
He lives in me
And you, indeed, stand with a truth [?]
Know that feelings could be lyin, so it's the Lion who
I said it's struggle gives grace, it's perseverence of the saints
It's only 'cause He holds [?] by His rope of love, but wait
There's more, in store, sanctification's taking place
[?] and you won't be in a perfect state 'til He returns
Til then we keep yearnin, learnin, discernin with
Sermons servin the powerful in the world [?] the person, we will do it
Our faith will not be ruined
And not in any case it's by His grace that we pursue
When we fall, GET UP!
'Cause this ain't all, GET UP!
It might be hard, but I gotta stand tall, GET UP!
Stay on the grind, GET UP!
Ay all the time, GET UP!
Don't let it duke it'll pull ya to the ground, GET UP!
Knock him dowm, get him up! [x8]
Oooahhh, so don't get lazy on my baby, uh uh, gotta keep it movin'
Train your body that's the aim like a 12 guage shotty
Stay focused, life is crazy, hold your ground, call it rudy
This is not a game, but you feel like you keep losing
And it's real man, but still it's so hard to understand
But we never practice Godliness, we get it where we can
That's weak, yeah that's weak and that's just how it's gon' be
You can train physically and still never have strength
Ay, hangin' by a thread, feelin weary and unstable
Look to Him who is strong, Kirk Franklin, He is able
He is God, we are not, we lazy and lack in faith
But you can persevere through it all; Imogo Dei
When we fall, GET UP!
'Cause this ain't all, GET UP!
It might be hard, but I gotta stand tall, GET UP!
Stay on the grind, GET UP!
Ay all the time, GET UP!
Don't let it duke ya, it'll pull ya to the ground, GET UP!
Knock him down, get him up! [x8]
[Verse 1:]
Yes, on a permanent team
You can say I'm fresh to death, I'm eternally clean
Used to walk to by my own beat of drum, internal instinct
But went from enemy to intimacy, I been redeemed
Through the cross and now I floss in His Paternal Regime
No more living single, it's like I done turned on Regine
In the body I got it, wha-what fraternity means
He prevailed my hell so there will be no burning of me
So keep the urn and the wreath, cause I'll return to the king
Accepted fully cause of the cross' conversion of me
So if I flex, it ain't in flesh
He bore my burden for me
And baby when I say I'm fresh
It's cause He birthed a new me
[Hook:]
I'm fresh
Not because my swagger right
Not be-not because
Not be-not because my swagger right
I'm fresh
Cause He came and took the cross
I can't floss unless my boast is in the cross
I'm fresh
[x2]
[Verse 2:]
I'm fresh, baby, cause of Adam no.2, crucified with Him
And by faith, man He made me brand new
Point two, the cross was powerful in changing my view
Regenerate, all my boys say I'm acting brand new
And it's true, so true, cause I'm not what I used to be
Somehow I got this boost in me
Truthfully, I'm not used to me
Please believe me I'm humble
But in Christ I can boast
See it's grace through faith that got ya boy so cold
So cold, and I ain't trying to be cocky
No confidence in compliments, I know that's opposite godly
See conceit is not my stronghold, confidence is strong though
Trust on high, and I don't mean that Cheech and Chong smoke
[Hook:]
I'm fresh
Not because my swagger right
Not be-not because
Not be-not because my swagger right
I'm fresh
Cause He came and took the cross
I can't floss unless my boast is in the cross
I'm fresh
[x2]
[Verse 3:]
To some this makes no sense but to others it's krunk
So dawg I pray to God you feel this like them subs in ya trunk
Not just the beat, although I know it's got you moving ya body
But the message in this song, it should be moving the body
Point one, I'm elected and redeemed
Point two, cause I got a new position, I'm fresh, so clean
Point three, I'm the-I'm the best me that can be
I'm in His image so some sinner may just happen to see
That life is wasted if you shape it in the form of yourself
Or someone else besides the Son, the One who's form is this shell
So I'm reflecting your glory Lord
Man that's who I'm living for
Jesus is Lord so I ain't gotta please you
[Verse 1:]
Heaven presents another smash hit for Jesus,
That keeps you rockin' when we're dropping phat masterpieces
I pray you seek this great God you should get to know Him,
And if you do make it known so your set can know Him
We spit to show Him in all of His splendor
And to share His matchless love that made me surrender
See we celebrate the Father who would send His Son
Because according to the text I was a wretch undone
Lord, I was lost in sin and lovin' my ways
Til You came to my rescue like government aid
Sin had me in a trial just like a subpoena,
And in Your court I couldn't stand like a leg without the femur
So now instead of Judge Lord, I know You as Redeemer,
You're sovereign even if there was a Hurricane Katrina
You saved men and You placed them in the prints of your feet
The Prince of Peace with nail prints that proves I'm free
[Hook:]
Oh, I'm free, I've never known a love like Yours before, and now
I'm free, I've never known a life with peace and security
But Your love restores, and breaks down the doors
You looked passed me and saw my needs, and set me free, I'm free
[Verse 2:]
I was bound to the Law, like a husband to a wife,
There were standards I couldn't keep, it's like I cheated every night
Which made sin prevalent, bringin' death to life
And provided me with the evidence we're in a losing fight
And like marriage, only death severs ties to the Law,
Knowing this Jesus stepped in and provided for your boy
He lived a perfect life fulfilling standards and perfection
And gave men grace through His death and Resurrection
Now if we'd only take turn for the better and realize
That the cravings of the flesh will never let up
Then we see that cheddar in the possession of our mortal eyes hail
When compared to the One immortalized
So now thanks to Christ I'm not an orphan like Annie
Because God adopted me and made me part of His family
Me and God are reunited and it feels so good,
I praise God for the day that Keynon brought me good news
[Hook:]
Oh, I'm free, I've never known a love like Yours before, and now
I'm free, I've never known a life with peace and security
But Your love restores, and breaks down the doors
You looked passed me and saw my needs, and set me free, I'm free
[Verse 3:]
We see ordinary people getting lifted by John Legend,
But this is when we get excited writing about John's legend
John 1: 14 meet the Word in the flesh,
Christ perfect in His person placing burdens to rest
But I'm free, no condemnation for me
Because I'm crucified with Christ, plus His love delivered me
God loved us enough that He would give His only kid,
Jesus came to live the perfect life that none of us could live, and I'm free
[Vamp:]
There was a time when my heart was on the line
All of my hope was gone and my soul was out of time
But Your love restores and breaks down the doors
You looked passed me and saw my needs, and now I can say, I'm free
[Hook:]
Oh, I'm free, I've never known a love like Yours before, and now
I'm free, I've never known a life with peace and security
But Your love restores, and breaks down the doors
This momentary trouble is a lot to own but I'm not alone, I'm not alone
I'm moving to a city where the pain is gone, ohh, I'll be home (home)
[x2]
You can catch me with my hands up, hey this my stance now
Firm like a group of lawyers, this is worship hands down
I let them tears fall; cryin' out for hope
Christ in my line of sight like a scope (my aim)
'Cause the pain's risin', but I keep smilin'
This life just can't compare to paradise, it's like an island
No fear no shame in me
I wanna give up some times but it's plain to see
Lord you always have a plan for life; no backup
Close 'cause I stand with Christ
So I live with the end in mind, call it retirement
Heaven's will lived on Earth; what I'm desirin'
This momentary trouble is a lot to own but I'm not alone, I'm not alone
I'm moving to a city where the pain is gone, ohh, I'll be home (home)
[x2]
Home... Finally, I can see You, ohhhh
Finally, I can see You
I heard 'em sayin' hang on, people will tell ya stay strong
Encouragement is cool dependin' what it's based on
People grippin empty wishes, hopin' for something different
No faith, no escape, who can I run to?
When this world is a graveyard
Here today, gone today, with no hope for tomorrow
But it's different for the children of God
We hold to every promise even when it gets hard
Now can't compare to later, when we will see the Savior
Until we get to Heaven, I pray that He sustains us
Empty aim, unless it's in His name
Even when I pass away my remains, remain
This momentary trouble is a lot to own but I'm not alone, I'm not alone
I'm moving to a city where the pain is gone, ohh, I'll be home (home)
[x2]
Even if we held down, hang on to your happiness
Hopin' in His holiness and the fact He's compassionate
Eternal in perspective (huh) even in the rough times
Only for a moment (ahh) they could never shut us down
My pain is not pleasure, my grief is not joy
But both of them are in the fact that I'll see the LORD
And so will everyone, born to blood and water
Salvation's comin' so keep hopin' in the Father
This momentary trouble is a lot to own but I'm not alone, I'm not alone
I'm moving to a city where the pain is gone, ohh, I'll be home (home)
[x2]
Home... Finally, I can see You, ohhhh
Intro:
Tedashii: Okay, T-dot, Creezy
Lecrae: Yeah, haha, uh
Tedashii: C'mon
Lecrae: I guess I'm just a misfit, huh?
Tedashii: Yeah
Lecrae: Do I come in right here?
No, Do I come in right now? Yeah...yeah
Lecrae: Hey listen, Real Skinny
Loud Color Tennis
Body marked Up Like Graffiti
I don’t push a Maserati, Beamer, Benz or Bentley
And yeah I roll a foreign, and yes I’m looking spiffy
Go ahead and doubt us, but what you know about us
We aint gotta follow them No, we take another route-a
No we aint blowin trees bro, open up my window
I see you poppin tags, but you know that’s why yo ends
I tried to tell em we was comin’, go on, let us in
Why they hatin’ like we all a bunch of Hooligans?
No Gimmicks, Spirit in my lyrics
Know when people hear it they gon’ love or they fear it
And how we flow, when we show up at a show
They say we go so hard in the paint, they can’t wait
for some more
But some others say we preachin’, some close-minded
teachin’
Like we aint heard of Marx, Locke, and Nietzsche,
Believe me
(Chorus):
Lecrae: Eh, They Don’t know about us, they don’t, they
don’t know about us
They, They, they don’t know about us, they don’t know
about
They think we Dum, Dum Diddy Dum, Dum
Tedashii: But they Gon’ know, they gon’ know about us
They gon’ know about us, they gon’ know about us
Oh they gon’ know about us, they gon’ know about us
Tedashii:
6,2, 2 plus, go on add it up
(Hey, that’s a big problem, call it Calculus)
Math don't subtract, but content like I had enough
Long hair, don’t care, Samoan plus I’m tatted up
I know this blow ya mind, and I aint blowin pine
Not talkin’ women lookin skimpy every otha line
Yeah, I got a dime, about to make her mine
Life in Christ got me finished like a crossed a line
With the way that you’re telling me to sell, sell out
Nah man it’s so foolish, done tryin to be you and don’t
Mis-fit, I don’t trip, everybody hate Chris
They sayin', get with this, just like a membership
They talkin’ slick like this is it, but it’s just
gibberish
I say I’m interested, they say ‘you different’
Oh, you gon’ know even if you don’t let us in
(Chorus)
Tedashii:
Dum on em, dum on em, like I could be
Dum on em, dum on em, like you should be
Dum on em, dum on em, like I would be
Dum on em, dum on em, yeah that’s cool with me
[Verse 1:]
I am just a man with a name from Japan
In a war like Iran when they fought though I ran
No I stand man confused I don't know who I am
As they tricked me like a scam
Until they arm it Uncle Sam
I don't wanna talk about it
Get into it but I'm in it
Born with it like my image as they long for something vintage
Fake games like a scrimage as I'm pushin into my limits
I just wanna get up out it the college but I'm remy
Takin shots from the roof top like subliminal
I'm the one shooting at myself like a criminal
I'm a Florida but I'm something like a Seminole
I'm a game no man I ain't talkin' 'bout your dinner bro
That's just the start of it!
Don't let my family part of it
Influence is true 'need in these cuff scar your wrist
I don't think my heart's in it
It won't get better later
I'm sorry man I had to let you down
Like an elevator.
No I'm gone, I'm through
I can't get with you.
No I'm gone, I'm through
I can't get with you.
No I'm gone, I'm through
I can't get with you.
No I can't get with you.
[Verse 2:]
Pain in my stomach turning
Pressure got my heart burnin
Weird cause the boy be
Like it doesn't feel as urgent
I remember hazy nights
Bass bumpin head thumpin
We extreme goin off the deep end
Bungee jumpin
But the pleasure that I got from that
Is feelin like a coffin
That I feel trapped in
Till He came and bought me back
Christ entered in
No more me trying to be you
He then more now
I'm trying to help you, see you
Evil like a serpent
You don't see it, but it's certain
Chasin cars with partitions
[Verse 1:]
In my room feeling trapped;
A prison without bars.
Stay dreaming of escape in my get-a-way car,
Or a ship from outer space-maybe Venus, maybe Mars,
I just want another place: this one seems too hard.
Maybe another state; this one seems to large,
For me to navigate. Man, my compass seems wrong.
So lighter, fire, matches, if I had this,
I would burn this whole thing down right now.
I don't need it no more.
Man, that part of me is gone.
Every picture, every letter, every part of this home-
You can keep it.
I don't need it.
I'm moving- it's not a secret.
I got a new home and I'm going there to seek it.
[Chorus:]
There's a burnin' in my soul,
Man, there's no where to go
So with fire in my eyes,
I'll light up the sky.
Let it burn! (Let it burn!)
I'll burn this whole house down
Let it burn! (Let it burn!)
I'll burn this house to the ground
Cause' there's too many memories,
Too much pain
Too much for me to bear,
I'm going insane!
Let it burn! (Burn!)
I'll burn this house to the ground
Let it burn! (Burn!)
I'll burn this house to the ground
[Verse 2:]
I can't wait till' I'm out
Of this house that I'm in
Cause' every single day,
I feel trapped inside my skin.
Every scratch, every crack,
Every spot on the exterior,
Flaws that make you pause,
I feel so inferior!
I was 7 when I felt it,
I couldn't perceive it.
Age 11, thought it again and that's when I believed it
Advances made at me and I wouldn't receive it,
I tried to move on but I'm stuck like "Sealed-In"
And I felt so alone that it's like this thing trapped me.
I played make-believe to a race that had happened,
Every falling star, I'm wishing for a change.
I need another place to live-free from these chains!
[Chorus:]
There's a burnin' in my soul,
Man, there's no where to go
So with fire in my eyes,
I'll light up the sky.
Let it burn! (Let it burn!)
I'll burn this whole house down
Let it burn! (Let it burn!)
I'll burn this house to the ground
Cause' there's too many memories,
Too much pain
Too much for me to bear,
I'm going insane!
Let it burn! (Burn!)
I'll burn this house to the ground
Let it burn! (Burn!)
I'll burn this house to the ground
[Verse 3:]
If you push me one more time, then I swear that it's on!
They always picking on me and won't leave me alone.
Racial slurs, hateful words, while people stand there and laugh at ya'.
"Go back to where? But, I'm not even from Africa! "
Heart not right with these after school fights,
Man, I just wanna Live.
This doesn't seem right
When they seem so wrong.
Pain lasts this long,
But this pain was the push to make me want a new home.
I didn't see it but it saw me,
Didn't seek it but it sought me,
Didn't buy it but it bought me,
Hope you catch it-It caught me.
Even victims aren't innocent and need answers for sinfulness.
I understand the simpleness, but most still miss it.
[Chorus:]
There's a burnin' in my soul,
Man, there's no where to go
So with fire in my eyes,
I'll light up the sky.
Let it burn! (Let it burn!)
I'll burn this whole house down
Let it burn! (Let it burn!)
I'll burn this house to the ground
Cause' there's too many memories,
Too much pain
Too much for me to bear,
I'm going insane!
Let it burn! (Burn!)
I'll burn this house to the ground
Let it burn! (Burn!)
I'll burn this house to the ground
[Bridge:]
Let it burn!
Let it burn!
I'm not goin' miss it when it's gone
Let it burn!
And if you thinking that I'm staying,
Then you got to be playing,
I can't wait to leave,
Let it burn!
Let it burn!
Let it burn!
I'm not goin' miss it when it's gone
Let it burn!
And if you thinking that I'm staying,
Then you got to be playing,
I can't wait to leave,
Two... Ladies and gentlemen put your hands together please
Yeah, two claps as I applaud every saint who goin' hard
Catching heat; refusing to live discreet for the Lord
Yeah, and this the life, there ain't nothing better
Even in the trial and the error this the best thing ever
Wouldn't trade it for the world
That's how you lose your soul so I'm lettin' go of everything
Tryin' to take hold of abundant living whether in the streets or prison
Happiness forever and today, that's a given
And you need it for when times get hard
Oh Lord, people comin' sideways like my car
Yep, sittin' on chrome as if it was a throne
Makin' judgements from afar; doubleminded; two-toned
But in the moment baby that's where He is strong
You're powered by His power so you can keep movin' on
So this is for the saint who feels defeated by the hater
They come because of Him, but in Him you can take it
They want me to fail but I can't do that
Sometimes it gets hard, I already knew that
Bravo! (Bravo!) [x4]
Can I get a round of applause for the haters?
They can talk down but they won't ever shake us
Bravo! (Bravo!) [x4]
Embrace when them hate me, I already knew that
Yep, them fate, no escape, unless He do that
So two hands together for the ones who never let up
He said that it would happen so you can expect the pressure
He told us it would come, only a matter of time
And it's something I expected even after He died
People turned away from the One who can give them real life
Realize it's the truth, that's the reason they despise
Man it's [?], the fact that you chose to become a Christian
The Gospel is offensive, hard hearts barely choose forgiveness
And if they hated Him, what makes you any different?
It doesn't; man I pray to God that you listen
Count it all joy when the persecution comes
Celebrate, it's the proof that to Him you belong
Say He wrong, but it's truth, the Scripture said it's right
None above the Master, hey they gon' hate you if they hated CHRIST
They want me to fail but I can't do that
Sometimes it gets hard, I already knew that
Bravo! (Bravo!) [x4]
Can I get a round of applause for the haters?
They can talk down but they won't ever shake us
Bravo! (Bravo!) [x4]
Clap clap, bravo; clap clap, bravo
This is for the people in the pain and the sorrow
Clap clap, bravo; clap clap, bravo
This is for the haters who hate us 'cause who we follow
Clap clap, bravo; clap clap, bravo
This is for the people in the pain and the sorrow
Clap clap, bravo; clap clap, bravo
This is for the haters who hate us 'cause who we follow
They want me to fail but I can't do that
Sometimes it gets hard, I already knew that
Bravo! (Bravo!) [x4]
Can I get a round of applause for the haters?
They can talk down but they won't ever shake us
[Man/Pastor:]
"So, tell me what happened between you all"
[Woman:]
"Well, we dated for 7 months, and um, we did everything together.
He would call me every day, we served in the ministry,
We'd pray and we'd read our Bibles together.
We would go out on dates, we would share our deepest secrets.
We were so, so close - he was my best friend."
[Man:]
"And so now, with the way that things turned out, I mean, how does that make you feel? "
[Woman:]
"Well, first I felt used, and sad. I felt deceived and lied to.
In my head I pictured him as being my husband one day,
[Hook:]
Bout time that we do this thing right,
Man it's about time that we make her my wife
If she's a friend and a woman of God,
Should be treated like a sister in Christ
Bout time that we follow His word,
If she's your woman then love her like Christ loved the church
Let's not confuse this love with eros, phileo,
But keep this relationship right
Saturday evening we all chilling at my boy's crib,
Debating, philosophizing like Paul at Mars Hill
And then she walked in and caught my eye as she walked by,
I thought why not I sought her out, posted up, started talking
Played my position right, prayed my decision's right,
But she's a Christian right, seems my decision's right
So I pursued her and called and tried to suture her heart up,
And sweep her off her feet, hoping that my future has got her
Spending time together, feeling intertwined together,
Life is so sublime together, I could see her down forever,
I'm so in love with this girl man,
I can't see myself without her up in this world man,
When I was down she was down in a hurry man,
She calmed me down through my problems and my worries man,
And plus she took away my bad time putting a smile on my face,
Even during sad times, to me this girl blows my mind
[Hook:]
Bout time that we do this thing right,
Man it's about time that we make her my wife
If she's a friend and a woman of God,
Should be treated like a sister in Christ
Bout time that we follow His word,
If she's your woman then love her like Christ loved the church
Let's not confuse this love with eros, phileo,
But keep this relationship right
It's been 7 months and things ain't as good as it was,
We seem to grow apart like distant relatives does
And in a panic we, frantically, tried to handle this,
Dismantle this?, that's not an option for us in our relationship
Sadly we turned to lust, thought that would be enough,
See ran to it for the rush, all the while we losing touch
Ignoring that we sinning, living to regain a feeling,
Trying our hardest to recapture this love thru hugging an' kissing
But this ain't working man, feels like a burden man,
Don't know what happened but this feels like it ain't worth it man
I tried hard to have a change of heart, I really did,
I beg the Lord to come and flame the spark, said I'd repent
But out of obligation feels like I gotta stay
But deep inside I'm fight pride, wishing that I got away
I gotta pray cause nowadays I treat her like I never knew her
When the truth was I'd probably feel her if she was newer
[Hook:]
Bout time that we do this thing right,
Man it's about time that we make her my wife
If she's a friend and a woman of God,
Should be treated like a sister in Christ
Bout time that we follow His word,
If she's your woman then love her like Christ loved the church
Let's not confuse this love with eros, phileo,
But keep this relationship right
Too many times I see this cycle like in Judges,
A guy approaches a girl and tries to date her without proper judgement
He just goes off his senses, cause of the looks he gets in this,
No proper perspective of purpose so he calls it friendship
While she thinks that you're dating, she sits back patient,
Waiting debating your intentions, wishing for more than conversation
But guys are so passive and that's our sin man,
Like Adam we go with the flow but leading's on the men man
So what's your true motive cause some of us are players living on the low,
We play with hearts but when it comes to love we saying no
Improperly engaging the hearts of these ladies,
If you have no plan or purpose of pursuit, ain't no point in dating
This seems old school, I know it's old dude,
But we suffer if things ain't done the way they suppose to
I know you like her but check your motives, make sure they're right,
[Verse 1:]
Follow me as I follow Christ, let's walk the road baby,
Since Jesus I got a new life, He broke the mold baby,
Renewed and I got new sight, He moved the old baby
Life is different walking in light and it should show baby
No more wild nights, clubbing and wild fights,
Bussing them loud pipes, hussling foul types
Dog you won't catch me pushing jars of that dro,
Or flirting with the ladies just to see how far this'll go
And I don't envy all people that you see on TV,
I trust the Father that by His riches He'll meet my needs
I get excited thinking about Jesus coming back just to get us,
I'm that dude that shed tears over the fact you ain't with us
So I keep it to the right, walking the straight and narrow,
No rigid dude but still it's true I model the master
Like directions I follow the Master if we born again
They should see our light like Paul on the road to Damascus
[Hook:]
Hey I'm born again baby, could care less about flossing,
Hey I'm born again baby, could care less about that
Hey I'm born again baby, could care less about balling,
Hey I'm born again baby, could care less about that
Hey I'm born again baby, could care less about flashing,
Hey I'm born again baby, could care less about that
Hey I'm born again baby, could care less about smashing,
Hey I'm born again baby, could care less about that
[Verse 2:]
Temptation runs hard after ya boy so I stand strong,
Crucify my flesh and stand even if I stand alone
And you won't catch me tripping off they clothes or their fashion
Because most of them masking who they is posing and flashing
And I done told you we forgot about the wood grain wheel,
But that's a notion we boasting that the hood can't feel
Man I don't trip off the ways of the earth plus I'm a pilgrim
Passing through so I can't stay on this earth
So I don't do this here, for the fame, shiny cars or a icy chain,
Major clout or a famous name and lose my soul in the process mane
To live is Christ and to die is gain, so I live this life in His name,
The life to come is where I gain eternal life, we winning mane
So best believe I could care less about all of that,
Over grills or some wheels I can't see myself falling back
Eternal is my perspective you should get this one quick,
Me living like the world you got me bent like Twan's wrist
[Hook:]
Hey I'm born again baby, could care less about flossing,
Hey I'm born again baby, could care less about that
Hey I'm born again baby, could care less about balling,
Hey I'm born again baby, could care less about that
Hey I'm born again baby, could care less about flashing,
Hey I'm born again baby, could care less about that
Hey I'm born again baby, could care less about smashing,
Hey I'm born again baby, could care less about that
[Verse 3:]
Sanctified living now that should be the aim of the church,
Like Israel it's holiness first til we under the earth
So I seek accountability because I'm prone to flirt,
Check the Bible, Acts 2 to see community works
So I won't play Alicia like keys cause I know what she's worth,
The world boasts about their lust, but hide their pain and their hurt
So we speak of this Jesus that told Nicodemus
That life's intravenous meaning His blood can redeem us,
Spiritual fetus reborn through believing no longer a heathen,
Grace we're receiving and now I'm born again baby,
What a relief to be in Jesus
Set free so I'm finished with chasing the skirt
Catch me following the Rabbi til I'm covered in His dirt
We stand strong to make a statement for Christ,
Like Black Power, all possible means, 24 like Jack Bauer
2-4 cause we FOTU, true soldiers who show truth,
Yeah man, a brought up in the south, ya know
You just sit on the porch and watch the world go by
And we seen cats riding by lookin' clean man
Sittin' on chrome ridin' dig boxes and bubbles and donks
You know what I'm sayin'
But somthin' starts to go wrong in your heart man
When you start lookin' for the ride.
You start worshipin' the ride almost you know what I'm talkin about.
[Verse 1: Tedashii]
Peep it, peep it OH MY GOD!
Pe-peep these people fiending
Fiending to be seen as king and leaning in they, CHROMED OUT CARS
Ri-riding high, su-superfly wood wheel, they grasp it tight
Locomotive midnight strolling through Georgia they Gladys Knight
Tipping, neon glass is bright switches make the back take flight
Lay it down, raise it up stu-stunting gives 'em bragging rights
All this so they swag is tight idolatry for status right
But they blind to the prison and the image that they living in all this sin from Adam's vice
All of us we get this, yeah distorted views of image, yeah
Made in God's likeness but despite this mankind is blemished, yeah
So men chase them fancy cars riding on them fancy bars
All so they can get respect when we cruising down the boulevard
So I grab the mic in here just to bring some light in here
Flip-flip the script just like a switch to spark this hit bring Christ in here
Since man can't see who they should be I'm a spit this so they can see
Outside of Christ you're bound for life a slave to your Idolatry
[Hook:]
[Rap:]
Self proclaimed kings bragging cause they on chrome
But 26 inches is a pretty low throne
[Singing:]
They riding on chrome on chrome on chrome
A pretty low throne low throne low throne
On chrome on chrome on chrome
Low throne low throne low throne
[Verse 2: Lecrae]
I see ya riding big, boy
Like Andre and his friend, boy
Got the SUV with the chromed out feet
And the seats is ostrich skin, boy
And naw that ain't a sin, boy
But tell me where it ends, boy
Cause the truck don't bring you luck and sho nuf ain't goin pay yo sins, boy
Gone head worship that tin toy
And in the end watch crumple like tin foil
Is that what you really wanna live for, do you read me, dawg?
Is that 10-4? You spent 10-4 for chrome, bruh
But Jesus still don't know ya
You worship that cold steel and still ya heart is colder
Can't say we ain't told ya, we told you like we s'posed to
The rims don't deserve that praise but the one who does hung like a poster
You post up on the block so the girls they flock
When they see you ridin' by, the boys see ya ridin'
High and you the one that they admire
Now if ya set jacked and crash that whip
That'll hurt you pride, yo status stripped
You thought your car could bless you like it's God
But no my father is
Idolatry it bothers Him
And when they make some hotter rims
Your gods gets rusty so you change religions like Madonna did
[Hook:]
[Rap:]
Self proclaimed kings bragging cause they on chrome
But 26 inches is a pretty low throne
[Singing:]
They riding on chrome on chrome on chrome
A pretty low throne low throne low throne
On chrome on chrome on chrome
Low throne low throne low throne
[Verse 3: Tedashii]
They look hard like OH, GOD!, and you make them they say who that?
So you look hard like you God, all the while you ain't really got a clue that
E-ve-ry-thang (thang) was made for the king of kings
True that through the only name, higher than every name
You don't get it then you maybe wanna move back
Yeah, I'm trying to tell ya mane yeah, I'm trying to warn ya dog
You can play me to the left like I'm dribbling to the right and get defensive but sin will scorn you dog
Leave you marred in your vision all scarred like incisions
Men marked like in prison that ain't all dog
Pretty soon there's an idol assuming the Lord's title
Like He's idle but He's more like a sawed-off
When it comes, to His glory
Man please believe me, BOY, He don't play that
This is more, than metaphors
Man this is the truth so baby, BOY, where your faith at
Let me help, it should be in One who provides
Better yet, the only One who could save our lives
Cause the things on this earth shouldn't be placed first
Over Him, the only One who gave us His life
But on the cool (on the cool) it ain't sin (it ain't sin), if you ride rims (ride rims) (ugh-uhh)
Make it do (make it do) what it do (what it do) but whatever you do, don't idolize them
But if you have (if you have) then repent turn back now cry out to Him
[That Will Be the Day]
JENNY
Listen to the sound above
Hear the music from the sky
Oh, The day is near
Forever we be there
Heaven is a beautiful place
We will laugh until we cry
Feel the love we can't deny
TEDASHII
Uh, I'm only passing through; I can't keep still
I'm a stranger, that's for real
Evacuatin', this is not a drill
Alien baring fruit;
My crop circles and to feel I'm from a different world
Dwayne Wayne you remember
I even flipped my glasses no bartender
Mixed up in this crazy world keep the blender
Because I'm going back home and return to Sender, yea
But I knew that would
If He held it down for me then, then I knew that I could
Hey, as soon as he come back to get me hop in the corna'
You can call it graduation baby minus the diploma
JENNY
CHORUS
Raise your flutes to the truth
Have a toast on the new life
Every day we celebrate, we hope, anticipate
Heaven on our minds
No pain just pleasure
No sin just God forever
And ever (3x)
That will be the day
TEDASHII
It. Is. Wonderful
And man no feeling can describe it
And even though I try to there's little that can define it
Any emotions like a potion be controlling me
Island Ocean living when these visions get a hold of me
Yea, interest to the King of kings
And I don't need a rosary
All I need is Him, Him, Him
Who I need?
The One that exist in Three
And not for me but for his glory
It's Him and not me He the star of this story
Heaven isn't heaven if God isn't there
If He isn't I don't want it might as well stay here
But we won't, that's my hope
I know that it gets better and we will be with God and we gone live forever
Like the song say, No sin enjoying Him for eternity
CHORUS (1X)
Beautiful vision
Our life as a mission
Love and perfection
And all our dreams will come reality
Face the joy for an eternity
Jesus Christ in full intendancy
Livin' it
Why is the monster taller than ever, while the weak fade away?
