SOT, Aleksandr Zakharchenko, Prime Minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (Russian): "There is a lack of food, electricity, slate on the roofs and there are damaged buildings, broken windows. It's the same as everywhere. The problems here are just bigger than anywhere else because fights were heavier and more vicious. The city had to bear many attacks, it's a hero city. It didn't surrender and thanks to this city we have defeated the enemy and the people here did a real deed."

SOT, Aleksandr Zakharchenko, Prime Minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (Russian): "We have a glorious group of the Donbass battalion, who will be involved in restoring Ilovaysk. By the way, the fighters had even been captured here. So those who destroyed this city can restore it. It is the only group we will not exchange in principle and do not want to exchange. We need them as a symbol."
