Color or colour (see spelling differences) is the visual perceptual property corresponding in humans to the categories called red, green, blue, and others. Color derives from the spectrum of light (distribution of light power versus wavelength) interacting in the eye with the spectral sensitivities of the light receptors. Color categories and physical specifications of color are also associated with objects, materials, light sources, etc., based on their physical properties such as light absorption, reflection, or emission spectra. By defining a color space, colors can be identified numerically by their coordinates.
Because perception of color stems from the varying spectral sensitivity of different types of cone cells in the retina to different parts of the spectrum, colors may be defined and quantified by the degree to which they stimulate these cells. These physical or physiological quantifications of color, however, do not fully explain the psychophysical perception of color appearance.

Silvio Rodríguez Domínguez (born November 29, 1946 in San Antonio de los Baños) is a Cuban musician, and a leader of the nueva trova movement.
He is considered Cuba's best known folk singer and known for his highly eloquent and symbolic lyrics. Many of his songs have become classics in Latin American music, such as Ojalá, Playa Girón, Unicornio and La maza. He has released nearly 20 albums.
Rodríguez, musically and politically, is a symbol of the Latin American left wing. His lyrics are notably introspective. His songs combine romanticism, love (even eroticism), revolutionary politics, and idealism.
Rodríguez was born on November 29, 1946 in San Antonio de los Baños, a fertile valley in Havana Province known for its tobacco crop. He was raised in a family of poor farmers. His father, Víctor Dagoberto Rodríguez Ortega, was a farmer and amateur poet who supported socialist causes. His mother, Argelia Domínguez León, was a house wife. On many occasions Rodríguez has spoken how his love of music was developed by his mother, who would pass time singing boleros and songs from Santiago. Although Rodríguez had an uncle who played the bass, his mother had a far greater influence. Later, she also collaborated with him on a few musical works.

Color me black if you color me just like you
Color me angry if you color me less than I do
(Whoa, what's your color?)
Yeah, what's your color?
(Whoa, what's your color?)
What's your color?
Color me happy if you teach me what I need to know
Color me gone if you don't, if you don't
'Cuz every child needs to grow, this I know
(Whoa, what's your color?)
Oh, what's your color, yeah?
I wanna know
(Whoa, what's your color?)
Oh, what's your color?
Listen
(Listen)
Love is my color
When I'm shown love in return
But when I am not
It's a bet you can guess what I have learned
What's my color? Hey
Color me green
(Color me green)
If I cannot have what you've got
Color me blue
(Blue)
Until I do 'cuz the fire will sho 'nuff be hot
Yes, it will
(Whoa, what's your color?)
What's your color, yeah?
Hey yeah
(Whoa, what's your color?)
What's your color, yeah?
Oh, make me a promise
(Make me a promise)
Oh, make me a promise
(That whatever you color me)
That whatever you color me
You will at least color me
Then I can color you too
What's your color?
(Whoa, what's your color?)
What's your color, yeah?
Hey, color
(Whoa, what's your color?)
What's your color?
(Whoa, what's your color?)
What's your color, yeah?
What's your color?
Make it love
What's your color?
Mine is love
(Whoa, what's your color?)
Yeah
(Whoa, what's your color?)
What's your color?
It took a long time to get to this place
And now that I'm here no one can ever erase
The joy that I feel way down deep beside
The love that I have for me will never, never die
I can see in color the first sign of spring
The rose buds are blooming
I got a new song, new song to sing
Life looks so amazing
I never knew that it could open my eyes
And for the very, very first time I can see in color
Everything looks beautiful, sky so baby blue
I'm anxious to know where the rest of this road will go
If April showers bring flowers then I need, I need more rain
To quench the drought in me, so rain on me, rain on me
I can see in color the first sign of spring
The rose buds are blooming
I got a new song, a new song to sing
Life looks so amazing
I never knew that it could open, open my, open my eyes
And for the very, very first time I can see
I can see in color the first sign, the first signs of spring
It looks so beautiful to me
I can see, I can see, I can see, I can see in color
Sky so baby blue, so baby blue
I can see, I can see
I can see in color the first sign of spring
And now the rose buds are blooming
I can touch them, I can feel them
I'mma hold them forever and ever and ever and ever
And ever, I'ma hold 'em ever, I'ma be forever
I can see, I can see, I can see
I can see, I can see, I can see
I can see, see in color, color, color, color

Colour fades away
With a light descending on the day
Midnight sees your friend
Oh could you call his name
Would you know his name
Well I dream so bold
But, God only knows colour fades away
Good times here today
Meanwhile you could say, I close my eyes
Colour fades away
Now tell me who are you for anyway
Midnight sees your face
Will it be a beginning in the end
Now God only knows
What we've put in that paint
God only knows colour fades away
Good times here today, almost every day
Meanwhile you would say, I close my eyes
And dream of only yesterday
Colour fades away
Good time here today, almost everyday
Meanwhile you could say that I close my eyes
That I've closed my eyes
Colour fades to gray
Just because my skin is brown
It don't define who I am
I could be a porcupine
Or I could be a little lamb
Please don't try and judge me
Only by the colors you have seen
To love me is to know me
Whether red, yellow, black or green
'Cause color is skin deep
But true beauty lives on and on
Color is skin deep
But true beauty lives on and on
Her skin might be ivory
And he might be from Japan
But that don't make a better woman
That don't make a lesser man
Please don't try to judge 'em
Only by the colors you have seen
To love 'em is to know 'em
Whether red, yellow, white, or green
'Cause color is skin deep
But true beauty lives on and on
Color is skin deep
But true beauty lives on and on
Here I go
Here I go
Here I go
Color is the shape of the rainbow
Color is the tint of the sky
It's not a person, place or thing
It's only a description of you and I
Like the colors on the frame of a house
Will not tell you of the colors within
So why would I try to judge
A man by the shade of his skin? When
Color is skin deep
But true beauty lives on and on
I know color is skin deep
But true beauty lives on and on
Color
Color, skin
But true beauty
Lives on and on and on and on
Hey, hey
Hey, hey
Lives on and on
And on
Lives on
And on
And on
And on
[Verse1]
She said "let it slide"
All the things that I
Have running through my mind
Will all be gone in time
Remember son
All the things you've done
And all the things you lost
And all the things you won
[Pre-chorus]
We're just trying to find some color in this
black and white world
[Chorus]
Tell me everything will be alright
Walk this way with me into the night
'Cause you can let it slide
Baby just for the night
Just know that everyone feels broken sometimes
[Verse2]
She said "take your time"
Things will be just fine
Don't bite the hand that feeds
'Cause nothing's ever mine
And just wait your turn
And always try to learn
To love the ones that don't show love in return
[Pre-chorus]
We're just trying to find some color in this
black and white world
[Chorus]
Tell me everything will be alright
Walk this way with me into the night
'Cause you can let it slide
Baby just for the night
Just know that everyone feels broken sometimes
[Bridge]
When you're walking backwards
Don't be afraid to close your eyes
'Cause the truth is, darling
That everything will be alright(alright)
[Chorus]
Tell me everything(tell me anything)
Walk this way with me(just tell me everything)
'Cause you can let it slide
Baby just for the night
Just know that everyone feels broken sometimes
[Chorus]
Tell me everything will be alright
Walk this way with me into the night
You can let it slide
Baby just for the night
Just know that everyone feels broken sometimes
Oh yeah, everyone feels cheated sometimes
Moments of here
forever in between
turning a year
turning a dream
turning the shade
of everything else
to see for myself.
What's hiding behind
a drive in the rain
tears for the strangers
a life in your name
I've been thinking about
living without
if the colors change
Maybe I'm the gentle devil
with the guilty smile
where the hell is now or never
but I thought for a while
maybe you're the perfect angel
but the dust won't clear
it was not enough to keep you here.
Somehow I'm still standing
I've always been the one to find new light
when the sun won't burn
somehow I'm still floating
I've always been the one to sing new songs
when the color turns.
Moments of now
couldn't sustain
belief in somehow
acceptance of pain
the color alone
the color of home
the vision remains
It was black into white
fall into gray
too wrong or too right
or too far away
I've been thinking about
living without
these colors today.
Maybe I'm the gentle devil
with the long black coat
where the hell is now or never
but the memories float
maybe you're the perfect angel
but the heaven wouldn't show
it was just too hard to let you go.
Somehow I'm still standing
I've always been the one to find new light
when the sun won't burn
somehow I'm still floating
I've always been the one to sing new songs
when the color turns.
Moments of here
forever in between
turning a year
turning a dream
turning the shade
of everything else
and maybe I'm finally learning how to tell
when I'm better off just standing....
I've always been the one to find new light
Hear a tap on my window pane
I know that sound
As I look to the sky see my tears are falling down
It's cold in my heart all my emotions turn grey
A picture of you and me washing, washing away
If you're here than why do I feel alone
Now the cracks are starting to show
I walk outside and everything's in sepia tone
(Oh whoa) I'm just looking for some colour
In this black and white cloud I'm under
Trying to find a little clarity before the darkness swallows me
And I'm praying for the thunder
Clear the sky of this rain we're under
Gotta lose the shadow over me
So finally I can see
Colour, colour, colour, colour
Colour, colour
Now the heat on my skin's not the red I once knew
And the sound of your voice doesn't do what it use to do
With a masterpiece so unique
How could the paint just up and leave
So unfair to leave the canvas bare
That's not how it's suppose to be
If you're here than why do I feel alone
Now the cracks are starting to show
I walk outside and everything's in sepia tone
(Oh whoa) I'm just looking for some colour
In this black and white cloud I'm under
Trying to find a little clarity before the darkness swallows me
And I'm praying for the thunder
Clear the sky of this rain we're under
Gotta lose the shadow over me
So finally I can see
The brown and green of autumn leaves
Every season that we've seen
The white of snow and summer's gold
Can't feel the spring all on my own
I wanna feel your touch and taste your kiss
Every shade of you I truly miss
Let's take a brush and start again
And paint ourselves a perfect day in colour
Colour, colour, colour, colour
(Oh yeah) colour, colour, colour, colour
(I'm just looking for some colour)
(Oh whoa) I'm just looking for some colour
In this black and white cloud I'm under
Trying to find a little clarity before the darkness swallows me
And I'm praying for the thunder
Clear the sky of this rain we're under
Gotta lose the shadow over me
So finally I can see
Colour, colour, colour, colour
Colour, colour, colour, colour
And I'm just looking for some colour
Inner city streets to dirt road country farms
An emergency state of alert a siren sounds the alarm
A race war has erupted conflict between friends
Caught up in the raging battle siding with media trends
It's every man for himself a chaos of mass rioting
Forced to defend from your own people to kill those
pirating
Division of the government political homicide
Pointing fingers at who's to blame without really knowing
why
One man arose through the gray
With a consciousness unlike today's
His wisdom from dead
As he spoke this is what he said...
We call each other niggers, spics, Jewish assholes,
cracker, whitey, honkey bastards,
Yellow slant-eyed motherfuckers,
disregarding one-another
Fighting among social status,
hifalutent, bitchy, crab-ass, middle class,
yuppies, punks, Street-walking homeless drunks,
non-english speaking, stinking Arabs, homo, lezbo,
Bi, retardos, Catholic, Hindu, Christian, pagan...
The list of names goes on and on
Respect one another
We bleed the same color
