Gay is a word (a noun or an adjective) that primarily refers to a homosexual person.
The term was originally used to refer to feelings of being "carefree", "happy", or "bright and showy"; it had also come to acquire some connotations of "immorality" as early as 1637. The term's use as a reference to homosexuality may date as early as the late 19th century, but its use gradually increased in the 20th century. In modern English, gay has come to be used as an adjective, and as a noun, referring to the people, especially to men, and the practices and cultures associated with homosexuality. By the end of the 20th century, the word gay was recommended by major LGBT groups and style guides to describe people attracted to members of the same sex. At about the same time, a new, pejorative use became prevalent in some parts of the world. In the Anglosphere, this connotation, among younger speakers, has a derisive meaning equivalent to rubbish or stupid (as in "That's so gay."). In this use, the word does not mean "homosexual", so it can be used, for example, to refer to an inanimate object or abstract concept of which one disapproves. This usage can also refer to weakness or unmanliness. When used in this way, the extent to which it still retains connotations of homosexuality has been debated and harshly criticized.

John's Gay
We've learnt to kick a ball, but we're not quite cynical
And we've written on the wall, John's gay He's gay
And Janet's friends with John and she says that we're all scum
He just gets his homework done and won't play not today
What will we grow up to be
What will we grow up to see
Will you still be friends with me fourteen, fifteen, sixteen
Martin grew out of his A-team vest
And nicked the pedals off my BMX
And he says that he's had sex with a girl, for effect
I lost my virginity, the year above us had discovered E
And I said it weren't for me, twelve pounds, fifty
What will we grow up to be
What will we grow up to see
Will you still be friends with me fourteen, fifteen
We hide in bandstands and talk in the dark
Rain's never cold when you're young
We were devoted to us from the start
I know too much how to feel ... young
We've learnt to kick a ball, and we're not quite cynical
And we've written on the wall, John's gay He's gay
What will we grow up to be
What will we grow up to see
Will you still be friends with me fourteen, fifteen
What will we grow up to be
What will we grow up to see
Will you still be friends with me fourteen, fifteen ... young
Here we are dear old friend
You and I drunk again
Laughs have been had and and tears have been shed
Maybe the whiskey's gone to my head
But if I were gay
I would give you my heart
And if I were gay
You'd be my work of art
And if I were gay
We would swim in romance
But I'm not gay
So get your hand out of my pants
It's not that I dont care - I do
I just don't see myself in you
Another time, another scene
I'd be right behind you, if you know what I mean
'Cause if I were gay
I would give you my soul
And if I were gay
I would give you my whole being
And if I were gay
We would tear down the walls
But I'm not gay
So won't you stop cupping my ... hand
We've never hugged
We've never kissed
I've never been intimate with your fist
You have opened brand new doors
Thank you for cumming, home-o
I'm sorry that your pants are all worn
I left them there to rot I could have sworn
These are my salad gays, slowly being eaten away
Just another gayboy-playboy for today
Oh but I'm proud of poo, yes I'm proud of poo
Nothing left to make my dick feel small
Viagra’s left me hanging here so tall, a-a-a-a-ll
You are...
Gay (gay)
You’ve ruined the family name
Oh son, you should you be ashamed
You homosexual
Bum’s always bleeding
‘Cause you are
Gay (gay)
So sad that you've turned fucking mad
Now I'll never be a Grandad
You homosexual, bum’s always bleeding
After the thrush has gone, I hope you find a little more time
Remember when we were bum-raiders in crime
It's only two years ago, since the man with the suit and the pace
Spunked right all over your face
Now he's in love with you, he rams your poo
My son is like a dirty toilet wall
Covered in stains and strings of spunk and all, all
You are...
Gay (gay)
You’ve ruined the family name
Oh son, you should you be ashamed
You homosexual
Bum’s always bleeding
‘Cause you are
Gay (gay)
Glad that you're bound to catch aids
There's nothing else left I can say
You homosexual, bum’s always bleeding
Why couldn’t you be normal and smoke dope
Instead of bending down to grab the soap
You are...
Gay (gay)
You’ve ruined the family name
Oh son, you should you be ashamed
You homosexual
Bum’s always bleeding
‘Cause you are
Gay (gay)
Glad that you're bound to catch aids
There's nothing left I have to say
What would I do if I was you?
I'd come out and say what I'd wanna do
I'd be a man you'd never be
So why don't you get up and groove with me?
Give it up, give it out, let it run, let it shout
Stayin' alive to survive being pretty
Feeling cheek, like a freak, you won't jump to the beat
Let your young hearts run free
Everybody c'mon let's get
G.A.Y., G.A.Y.
Drunk or better kiss yourselves
And say goodbye, G.A.Y., G.A.Y.
What would you do if you were me?
Are you ready to face what you wanna be?
Enough is enough when it's just too long
So get up and go out and get it on
Give it up, give it out, let it run, let it shout
Stayin' alive to survive being pretty
Feeling cheek, like a freak, you won't jump to the beat
Let your young hearts run free
Everybody c'mon let's get
G.A.Y., G.A.Y.
Drunk or better kiss yourselves
And say goodbye, G.A.Y., G.A.Y.
G.A.Y. good as you
G.A.Y. good as you
Everybody c'mon let's get
G.A.Y., G.A.Y.
Drunk or better kiss yourselves
And say goodbye, G.A.Y., G.A.Y.
Everybody c'mon let's get
G.A.Y., G.A.Y.
Drunk or better kiss yourselves
And say goodbye, G.A.Y.
Everybody c'mon let's get
(C'mon everybody)
G.A.Y., G.A.Y.
(C'mon everybody kiss yourselves goodbye)
Drunk or better kiss yourselves
Dejo esta carta y no te pido perdón ,
ya me cansé de ver tus caras y mal humor.
Te doy las gracias por causarme aversión
en vez de dolor.
Nunca entendí tu afición a estar triste y tu
