Seán or Séan is an Irish language name. It is the Irish equivalent of the French Jean. Anglicisations of the name include Sean (without a fada), Shane, Shayne, Shaine, Shon, Shaun, and Shawn. The name Shane comes from the Ulster pronunciation of the name, whereas the names Shaun, Shawn, or Sean come from the way it is pronounced in Munster, Leinster, and Connacht.
In the 11th century, the Norman duke William the Conqueror invaded and conquered England and brought his Norman knights and their dialect with him. In England, the French name Jehan (pronounced [dʒɛˈan]) came to be spelled John. The Norman kings of England also conquered Ireland in the 13th century and the 14th century. The Irish nobility was replaced by Norman nobles, some of whom bore the French name Jean or the Anglicised name John. The Irish adapted the name to their own pronunciation and spelling, producing the name Seán. Sean is mostly pronounced Shawn, but in the northern parts of Ireland (owing to a northern dialect), it is pronounced "Shayn", thus leading to the variant Shane.

Plot
Once upon a time, there lived a boy known only as the wanderer. An orphan child, unable to speak or write, he had journeyed all across the globe in search of a home and family. In a small coastal village on Ireland's eastern shore, he thought he had found them at last. And in the form of a girl with purple glasses, he thought he had found love. Unable to tell the girl how he felt, he looked for something to make her. In a book, 'Of Lost and Extinct Flowers,' he found a passage on the rose: a flower as white as snow, its petals as soft as silk, and without any scent at all. And so the wanderer set out to make a rose. But that was not so simple as it seemed...

Sean I'd say the best one came from Tupelo, Mississippi
I'll tell you now that grown men cry and Irish girls are pretty
Though fear and hurt and care can lead me to despair
I saw why I'm here the morning you appeared
Sean, I sat awhile on clouds to ask God if he's living
I should have spent the time on knees in thanks for what he's given
From Parents smart and strong to both of us passed on
From Kings is where you come, through daughters and through sons.
We were away, and you'd been waiting
But got caught in a storm
The wind was blowing and you ran home
Alone, but safe and warm
You've been inside with stranger's voices
And the radio
But, won't you come on out?
We're all here
Come on out – it's only rain
Don't you miss how it feels on your skin?
It feels clean
Gold and silver wings are busy
And they never tire
But we're out here, and you're in there
You should be with us tonight
You've been inside with stranger's voices
And the radio
But won't you come on out?
We'll be here
Come on out – it's only rain
Don't you miss how it feels on your skin?
Come on out – it's only rain
I like how it feels on my skin
It feels clean
So come on out
There's a Belfast girl I loved and lost
On the rolling hills around my home
Now she stays home nights behind locked doors
Since a plastic bullet stopped him
And he don't come no more
There's a Belfast boy was loved and lost
On the crowded streets of his own home town
Pepper my heart with a lover's words
And I'll pepper yours with a Getlin gun
Mother my heart is full of lead
And it weighs me down and I just can't cry
Remember me to schoolboy friends
And tell it as it was, please try
So come by my boy and sit you down
There's a tale to hear, a tale to tell this town
You say the devil will get me some day
You can tell him I'm waiting
Cause these are the things I must say
Mother my heart is full of lead
And life holds few surprises too
Tell that to the little ones
Before they learn to leaugh at you
Mother my heart is full of lead
And it weighs me down and I just can't cry
Remember me to schoolboy friends
