University Advancement is responsible for creating awareness and generating support for SF State's academic, research and public service missions. Our strategic goals are to instill well-deserved pride in University accomplishments, strengthen awareness and support among the University's key stakeholders, and build a culture of philanthropy and support for SF State. Recent Advancements

Celebrate SF State and its extraordinary alumni

Five exceptional San Francisco State University graduates will be honored Friday, Oct. 24, at the 2014 President's Dinner and Alumni Hall of Fame. The event, to be held at the Julia Morgan Ballroom in San Francisco, will be emceed by another outstanding SF State grad: renowned music journalist Ben Fong-Torres.

 

University reopens gym, dedicates Nasser plaza

SF State showed off its renovated Gymnasium and dedicated the building's Don Nasser Family Plaza in front on Thursday, formally signaling the completion of a $2 million upgrade of the University's athletics facilities. The plaza in front of the Gymnasium was named in honor of Don Nasser (B.A. '63), whose generous donation was key to funding the renovations.

 

SF State and CETYS of Mexico to cooperate, exchange scholars and students

San Francisco State University today signed a memorandum of understanding with Centro de Enseñanza Técnica y Superior (CETYS Universidad) of Baja California, Mexico, to establish cooperation between the two entities. For SF State, it’s the first such partnership with an institution in Mexico.

 

Drawn to scales: New Gator unveiled

SF State unveiled its new mascot mark today, a redrawing of the University's Gator mascot in conjunction with a number of changes bringing new momentum to the Athletics Department.
