Otis Ray Redding, Jr. (September 9, 1941 – December 10, 1967) was an American soul singer-songwriter, record producer, arranger, and talent scout. He is considered one of the major figures in soul music and rhythm and blues (R&B), and one of the greatest singers in popular music. His open-throated singing was an influence on other soul singers of the 1960s, and he helped to craft the lean and powerful style of R&B that formed the basis of the Stax Sound. After appearing at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival, he wrote and recorded "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay", which became a number-one record on both the pop and R&B charts after his death in a plane crash.
Redding was born and raised in the American state of Georgia. At age 15, he left school to support his family by working with Little Richard's backing band, The Upsetters, and by playing talent shows for prize money. In 1958, he joined Johnny Jenkins's band, The Pinetoppers, and toured the Southern United States while serving as driver and musician. An unscheduled appearance on a session led to a turning point in his career. He signed a contract with Stax Records and released his debut album, Pain in My Heart, in 1964. This album produced his first Stax single, "These Arms of Mine".

Shawn Corey Carter (born December 4, 1969), better known by his stage name Jay-Z, is an American rapper, songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur, and occasional actor. He is one of the most financially successful hip hop artists and entrepreneurs in America, having a net worth of over $450 million as of 2011.He has sold approximately 50 million albums worldwide, while receiving fourteen Grammy Awards for his musical work, and numerous additional nominations. He is consistently ranked as one of the greatest rappers of all-time. He was ranked #1 by MTV in their list of The Greatest MCs of All-Time in 2006. Two of his albums, Reasonable Doubt (1996) and The Blueprint (2001) are considered landmarks in the genre with both of them being ranked in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. Blender included the former on their 500 CDs You Must Own Before You Die.
Jay-Z co-owns the 40/40 Club, is part-owner of the NBA's Brooklyn Nets and is also the creator of the line Rocawear. He is the former CEO of Def Jam Recordings, one of the three founders of Roc-A-Fella Records, and the founder of Roc Nation. As an artist, he holds the record for most number one albums by a solo artist on the Billboard 200 with eleven. Jay-Z also has had four number ones on the Billboard Hot 100, one as lead artist.

Plot
The family man Wade Porter is living the American Dream with his girlfriend Laura and their son Michael: they have a nice house, he has just raised a loan to make his company grow and they are going to get married. However their dream becomes a nightmare when Wade unintentionally kills a burglar that had broken into their house in the middle of the night on his lawn. He is sent to trial and accepts a deal proposed by the prosecutor, being sentenced to three years in prison. During the transportation, there is an incident in the bus and Wade is framed and sent to the maximum security wing under the command of the corrupt Lieutenant Jackson. His cell-mate John Smith that was sentenced to life revenging the death of his family befriends Wade and gives helpful advices and hope to Wade to return to his family.

Plot
A team of trainees of the National Guard brings supply to the New Mexico Desert for a group of soldiers and scientists that are installing a monitoring system in Sector 16. Plot
A British Sub goes missing at the end of the war leaving only one crew member surviving. Everyone believes it lost to the bottom of the Baltic Sea, then 40 years later it reappears without a crew. The British government send for the the surviving crew member (David Jason) now a marine biologist. With a new crew and Jason then proceed to trace the last know happenings on the sub. But this submarine has a life of its own and the new crew soon start showing characteristics of the old crew.

Plot

Plot
School teacher Janet Brooks innocently involves herself in a scandal while spending the week-end alone in the mountain cabin of her fiancée, Dr. Walter Phillips. She gives first aid to a wounded racketeer, Joe Bruno, who is running out on his mob with eighty thousand dollars in cash. Unknown to Janet, Bruno hides the money in the cabin. She goes on an errand and two mobsters, Ed Somers and "Stubby" Moore), make a call on Bruno and then depart after delivering a couple of soon-to-be-fatal gunshot wounds. Bruno manages to get to the highway and hitches a ride from a passing motorist who drives him to the Coniston hospital. In front of a number of doctors as witnesses, Bruno draws up a will leaving the eighty-thousand bucks to Janet, but dies before he can reveal where the money is located. The story hits the local headlines the next day and Janet's denials of any previous acquaintance with Bruno or knowledge of the money are disbelieved. Janet, her mother, Celia, and her brother, Fred, are ostracized by the town. Only Walter, who is having trouble of his own trying to raise money to complete a polio wing for the hospital, stands by Janet. Janet publicly announces that if the money ever comes into her possession, she will turn it over to the hospital fund. Somers and Moore intensify their search. But Fred, under pressure from Pete Weiss, local racketeer to whom he owes a large gambling debt, finally succeeds in finding the money, but his conscience forces him to hide it again rather than turning it over to Weiss.

Plot
Rahman Khan (Douglas Dumbrille'), leader of the hill tribes, has been inciting rebellion against the British Army. Joan Latimer ('Rochelle Hudson' (qv)), recently arrived from England, is on her way to Fort Draga to marry Captain Jeffrey Allison ('Patric Knowles' (qv)), a hero in the British Army in India. Escorting Joan is Jeffrey's younger brother Neil Allison ('Richard Cromwell' (qv)), who has fallen in love with Joan, a hopeless attachment made more intense by the bitterness he feels toward his brother who has always been held up to him as a fine example to follow. Before Jeffrey and Joan can be married, Rahman Khan strikes and he is sent on a dangerous mission. He and his brother quarrel before he leaves, and Joan has told Neil that not even Jeffrey's death would change her attitude and that Neil's continued declarations of love for her are distasteful.

One of the most popular and critically acclaimed soul vocalist, songwriter and musician representatives of the R&B; style known as Southern soul. Legendary musician Otis Redding (known as the "King of the Soul Singers") is generally regarded as the single most influential male soul artist of the 1960s. He was one of the first artists to broaden his appeal to white audiences with a raw, spontaneous style that bore a stark contrast to the smooth, sophisticated music of Motown. Otis Redding, Jr. was born on Sept. 9, 1941 in Dawson, Georgia, the son of a Baptist minister. He grew up in poverty in the Tindall Heights housing projects of Macon, Georgia, where he started singing in the church choir of Vineville Baptist Church. Redding later attended Ballad Hudson High School and participated in the band. He dropped out of high school in the tenth grade, determined to help his family financially. Redding went to work with Little Richard's former band, the Upsetters, serving as both chauffeur and vocalist as the group played the fraternity-house circuit. He also began to compete in local talent shows for the $5 prize, winning 15 straight times. Redding was discovered while singing with Macon guitarist Johnny Jenkins band, the Pine Toppers, and first recorded as a member of that group for the tiny Confederate label in 1960. He later married Zelma Atwood in Aug. of 1961 and they had three children and one that would later be adopted after his death. In Oct. of 1962, Jenkins and the group were booked to cut some sides at Stax Records in Memphis, Tennessee. Redding was invited at the end session to make his first solo album "These Arms of Mine." The album became the first of a series of soul ballads by Redding. After years of ambition and drive, his sacrifices had paid off. During the mid-1960s, Redding toured the United States playing numerous one-night engagements in theatres such as the Apollo in New York and clubs frequented by African-Americans. He also toured Canada, Europe, and the Caribbean. Redding's concert tours were among the biggest box office successes of any touring performer during this time. Ironically, although he consistently impacted the R&B; charts beginning with the Top Ten appearance of "Mr. Pitiful" in 1965, none of Redding's singles fared better than #21 on the pop Top Forty. In 1965, he moved his family into a spacious 300 acre property, in Round Oak, Georgia he called "The Big O Ranch". Sept. of that same year saw the release of Redding's Otis Blue/ Otis Redding Swings Soul which was recorded in 24 hours and features the classic "Respect" as well as the celebrated soul ballads, "I've Been Loving Yoo Too Long," and "A Change is Gonna Come." The song that many consider Redding's greatest, "Try A Little Tenderness," was later recorded in 1967. On Dec. 10, 1967 in Lake Monona, Madison, Wisconsin, Otis Redding along with six others were killed at the peak of his career at the age of 26 in a plane crash during a storm en route to a concert in Madison. About 4,500 mourners crowded Macon's City Auditorium for Redding's funeral a week later. He was buried on the grounds of his family estate. Four months after his death, Redding would achieve his first American number one album for his hit which hit No. 1 on the pop and R&B; charts. One of the most popular and critically acclaimed soul vocalist, songwriter and musician representatives of the R&B; style known as Southern soul. Legendary musician Otis Redding (known as the "King of the Soul Singers") is generally regarded as the single most influential male soul artist of the 1960s. He was one of the first artists to broaden his appeal to white audiences with a raw, spontaneous style that bore a stark contrast to the smooth, sophisticated music of Motown. Otis Redding, Jr. was born on Sept. 9, 1941 in Dawson, Georgia, the son of a Baptist minister. He grew up in poverty in the Tindall Heights housing projects of Macon, Georgia, where he started singing in the church choir of Vineville Baptist Church. Redding later attended Ballad Hudson High School and participated in the band. He dropped out of high school in the tenth grade, determined to help his family financially. Redding went to work with Little Richard's former band, the Upsetters, serving as both chauffeur and vocalist as the group played the fraternity-house circuit. He also began to compete in local talent shows for the $5 prize, winning 15 straight times. Redding was discovered while singing with Macon guitarist Johnny Jenkins band, the Pine Toppers, and first recorded as a member of that group for the tiny Confederate label in 1960. He later married Zelma Atwood in Aug. of 1961 and they had three children and one that would later be adopted after his death. In Oct. of 1962, Jenkins and the group were booked to cut some sides at Stax Records in Memphis, Tennessee. Redding was invited at the end session to make his first solo album "These Arms of Mine." The album became the first of a series of soul ballads by Redding. After years of ambition and drive, his sacrifices had paid off. During the mid-1960s, Redding toured the United States playing numerous one-night engagements in theatres such as the Apollo in New York and clubs frequented by African-Americans. He also toured Canada, Europe, and the Caribbean. Redding's concert tours were among the biggest box office successes of any touring performer during this time. Ironically, although he consistently impacted the R&B; charts beginning with the Top Ten appearance of "Mr. Pitiful" in 1965, none of Redding's singles fared better than #21 on the pop Top Forty. In 1965, he moved his family into a spacious 300 acre property, in Round Oak, Georgia he called "The Big O Ranch". Sept. of that same year saw the release of Redding's Otis Blue/ Otis Redding Swings Soul which was recorded in 24 hours and features the classic "Respect" as well as the celebrated soul ballads, "I've Been Loving Yoo Too Long," and "A Change is Gonna Come." The song that many consider Redding's greatest, "Try A Little Tenderness," was later recorded in 1967. On Dec. 10, 1967 in Lake Monona, Madison, Wisconsin, Otis Redding along with six others were killed at the peak of his career at the age of 26 in a plane crash during a storm en route to a concert in Madison. About 4,500 mourners crowded Macon's City Auditorium for Redding's funeral a week later. He was buried on the grounds of his family estate. Four months after his death, Redding would achieve his first American number one album for his hit which hit No. 1 on the pop and R&B; charts. (Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay" (1967) released in January of 1968 later won Redding two 1968 Grammy Awards. Redding has received several other honors since his death, including induction into the The Rock & Roll hall of Fame in 1989, The Georgia Music Hall of Fame, the naming of a bridge in Macon after Redding and the United States Postal Service issuing a commemorative stamp! in his honor on June 16, 1993. In 1992, a release of the CD "The Very Best of Otis Redding was issued and soon went gold after selling more than 500,00 copies. Who knows where Otis Redding's career path might have taken him.
