Gabès Governorate (Arabic: ولاية قابس Wilāyat Qābis) is one of the 24 governorates of Tunisia. It is located in south-eastern Tunisia. It covers an area of 7,175 square kilometres (2,770 sq mi) and has a population of 343,000 (2004 census). The capital is Gabès.

Gabès (Arabic: قابس Qābis), also spelt Cabès, Cabes, Kabes, Gabbs and Gaps, the ancient Tacape, is the capital city of the Gabès Governorate, a province of Tunisia. It lies on the coast of the Gulf of Gabès. With a population of 116,323 (census 2004) it is the 6th largest Tunisian city.
Strabo refers to Tacape as an important entrepot of the Lesser Syrtis. Pliny (18.22) remarks that the waters of a copious fountain at Tacape were divided among the cultivators according to a system where each had the use of the water during a certain interval of time. The Tabula Peutingeriana shows Tacape between Marcomades and Sabrata.

The fast growing numbers of factories has resulted in fairly serious pollution of the area and Gulf of Gabès. In recent years the government is working on new programs and laws to decrease the amount of pollution.
Pharrell Williams (born April 5, 1973), commonly known simply as Pharrell, is an American rapper, singer, record producer, composer, and fashion designer. Williams and Chad Hugo make up the record production duo The Neptunes, producing hip hop and R&B music. He is also the lead vocalist and drummer of hip-hop band N.E.R.D, which he formed with Hugo and childhood friend Shay Haley. Pharrell Williams was born on April 5, 1973, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, the eldest of three sons of Carolyn, a teacher, and Pharaoh Williams, a handyman. He met Chad Hugo in a seventh-grade summer band camp where Williams played the keyboards and drums and Hugo played tenor saxophone. They were also both members of a marching band; Williams played the snare drum while Chad was student conductor. With Hugo, Williams attended Princess Anne High School where they played in the school band; there he got the name Skateboard P.
