In Abrahamic religions, Gabriel (Hebrew: גַּבְרִיאֵל, Modern Gavri'el Tiberian Gaḇrîʼēl, God is my strength; Arabic: جبريل, Jibrīl or جبرائيل Jibrāʾīl) is an angel who typically serves as a messenger to humans from God.
He first appears in the Book of Daniel, delivering explanations of Daniel's visions. In the Gospel of Luke Gabriel foretold the births of both John the Baptist and of Jesus. Christians of the Catholic traditions refer to him as Gabriel the Archangel.
Gabriel is referred to as "he" in the Bible, and in Daniel 9:21 he is explicitly called "The man Gabriel". Some moderns, especially New Age exponents, portray Gabriel as female or androgynous.
In Latter-day Saint theology, Gabriel is believed to have lived a mortal life as the prophet Noah. The two are regarded as the same individual; Noah being his mortal name and Gabriel being his heavenly name.
Gabriel is mentioned in the Book of Daniel, in the Hebrew Bible where he is sent as a messenger of YHWH (see God in Judaism) to Daniel during the Jewish captivity in Babylon. He is later mentioned in the Talmud.
Gabriel J. Iglecias (born July 15, 1976), known professionally as Gabriel Iglesias, is an American standup comedian and actor, known for his shows I'm Not Fat… I’m Fluffy and Hot & Fluffy. He employs storytelling, effected voices and sound effects in his act, whose other trademarks include references to his weight and his use of Hawaiian shirts. He has been called a "comedy genius" by Hector Saldaña of the San Antonio Express-News.
Gabriel Iglesias was born Gabriel J. Iglecias in San Diego, California. He is of Mexican-American heritage. His mother placed a letter "c" in his surname in retaliation for his father's absence during his birth, though he does not use this spelling in his every day life, preferring to use the one with the "s". He and his mother lived in Riverside, Corona, Santa Ana, Baldwin Park and Compton before settling in Long Beach, where Iglesias spent most of his life growing up.
Before going into comedy, Iglesias worked for a cell phone company in Los Angeles. Although his family urged him to remain in that job for its financial security, he insisted on trying his hand at comedy. When maintaining both occupations proved too difficult to handle, he decided to take the risk of doing comedy full time, against the advice of his mother, who cautioned him against such a move. Iglesias nonetheless left the phone company, which eventually resulted in his being evicted from his home and losing his car. Despite this, he persisted with comedy.
Alberto Aguilera Valadez (Spanish pronunciation: [alˈβeɾto aɣiˈleɾa βalaˈðes]) (born January 7, 1950), better known by his stage name Juan Gabriel (pronounced: [ˈxwaŋ ɡaˈβɾjel]), is a Mexican singer, songwriter, recording artist, and performer.
Born on 7 January 1950, on Cinco de Mayo street (now known as Juan Gabriel Street) in the small town of Parácuaro, Michoacán, to father Gabriel Aguilera Rodríguez and mother Victoria Valadez Rojas, he is the youngest of 10 siblings: Rosa who died shortly after birth, Virginia, José Guadalupe, Gabriel, Pablo, Miguel (died) and three brothers named Rafael who all three have also died.
Around the age of three months, Alberto's father, Gabriel, being an agricultural field worker, intended to clear a piece of land by setting fire to the field. Due to windy conditions, sadly he lost control of the fire which began to spread to neighboring properties and homes. Deeply disturbed and worried over the consequences he brought onto his family, Gabriel knew not what to do and threw himself into a river. Badly injured from the fall, Gabriel was hospitalized and committed to La Castañeda psychiatric ward in México City. What happened to Gabriel after the psychiatric ward is unknown. One tale is that he died while in La Castañeda for their alleged patient mistreatment, while others say that Gabriel escaped from the mental ward to unknown whereabouts. Either way, Alberto and his family never heard from their father again. These accounts would later be Alberto's inspiration for the song titled "De Sol a Sol (A Mis Padres)" - English translation, "From Sun Up to Sun Down (To My Parents)".
Peter Brian Gabriel (born 13 February 1950) is an English singer, musician, and songwriter who rose to fame as the lead vocalist and flautist of the progressive rock group Genesis. After leaving Genesis, Gabriel went on to a successful solo career. His 1986 album, So, is his most commercially successful, and the album's biggest hit, "Sledgehammer", won a record nine MTV Awards at the 1987 MTV Video Music Awards, and the song is the most played music video in the history of the station.
More recently, Gabriel has focused on producing and promoting world music and pioneering digital distribution methods for music. He has also been involved in various humanitarian efforts. Gabriel has won numerous music awards throughout his career, including three Brit Awards—winning Best British Male in 1987, six Grammy Awards, thirteen MTV Video Music Awards, and in 2007 he was honoured as a BMI Icon at the 57th annual BMI London Awards for his “influence on generations of music makers.” Gabriel was also awarded the Polar Music Prize in 2009, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Genesis in 2010.
Brigitte Gabriel (a.k.a. Nour Saman, born October 21, 1964), is the pseudonym of a Lebanese American journalist, author, and activist. Gabriel says that Islam keeps countries backward, and that it teaches terrorism. To promote her views, she founded the American Congress For Truth and ACT! for America so that others may "fearlessly speak out in defense of America, Israel and Western civilization."
She frequently speaks at American conservative-leaning organizations such as The Heritage Foundation, Christians United for Israel, Evangelicals and Jewish groups.
Stephen Lee, a publicist at St. Martins Press for Gabriel’s second book, has called her views "extreme". Gabriel claims she gives voice to "what many in America are thinking but afraid to say out loud, for fear of being labeled a racist, bigot, Islamophobic, or intolerant."
Brigitte Gabriel was born in the Marjayoun District of Lebanon to a Maronite Christian family when her mother was fifty-five and her father was sixty as their first and only child after over twenty years of marriage. She recalls that during the Lebanese Civil War, Islamic militants launched an assault on a Lebanese military base near her family's house and destroyed her home. Gabriel, who was ten years old at the time, was injured by shrapnel in the attack. She and her parents were forced to live underground in all that remained, an 8'x10' bomb shelter for seven years, with only a small kerosene heater, no sanitary systems, no electricity or running water, and little food. She says she had to crawl in a roadside ditch to a spring for water to evade Muslim snipers.
Well I guess I gotta go now,
Saying farewell until the next time,
But I know we'll meet again.
Seem so early to be leaving,
Feel so tired,
Just want to sleep now,
Fade away.
Gabriel,
Am I finished,
Trapped inside,
You got me in it.
Is it over in a minute,
Gabriel.
Gabriel,
Am I finished,
Trapped inside,
You got me in it.
Is it over in a minute,
Gabriel.
Hear them in the distance,
Singing so softly,
Oh so peaceful,
Calling me on.
Being drawn in ever closer,
Down towards the cool calm river,
I can hear their song.
Gabriel,
Am I finished,
Trapped inside,
You got me in it.
Is it over in a minute,
Gabriel.
Gabriel, I am finished,
Trapped inside,
You got me in it.
Is it over in a minute,
Gabriel.
Chorus
Gabriel Gabriel
Open you heart and mine as well
Oh Gabriel Gabriel
Save this heart from hell
Heaven knows I love you
And heaven knows how true
I'd be for you
People have their failings
And I know that I've got mine
I know I've been ungrateful
I know I've been unkind
Chorus
Gabriel Gabriel
Open you heart and mine as well
Oh come on Gabriel Gabriel
Save this heart from hell
Down into the valleys
And out across the sea
Our dreams go
Caught up in a loving
So much stronger than we knew
That could tear our world apart
Or with some fate just pull us through
Chorus
Gabriel oh Gabriel
Open you heart and mine as well
Gabriel Gabriel
Save this heart from hell
Time will wait for no one
And time will take it's toll
And we'll grow old
Weary from the fighting
Worn out from a war
Where no one can surrender
Or wants to fight anymore
Chorus
Gabriel Gabriel
Open you heart and mine as well
Gabriel Gabriel
Save this heart from hell
Gabriel Gabriel
Open you heart and mine as well
Oh Gabriel Gabriel
This heart's in hell
The angel Gabriel from Heaven came,
His wings as drifted snow,
His eyes as flame; 'All hail,' said he,
'Thou lowly maiden Mary,'
Most highly favoured lady, Gloria!
'For known a blessed Mother thou shalt be,
All generations laud and honour thee,
Thy Son shall be Emmanuel, by seers foretold,'
Most highly favoured lady, Gloria!
Then gentle Mary meekly bowed her head,
'To me be as it pleaseth God,' she said,
'My soul shall laud and magnify his holy name.'
Most highly favoured lady, Gloria!
Of her, Emmanuel, the Christ, was born
In Bethlehem, all on a Christmas morn,
And everyone throughout the world will ever say:
gabriel, wherever you roam,
you know the longest way round is the shortest way home.
gabriel, wherever you go,
you know the longest way round is the shortest way home.
when you were here there was a beating of wings
in your heart doing senseless things.
when you were here there was a forest fire
raging in you like a wild desire.
gabriel, wherever you roam,
you know the longest way round is the shortest way home.
and everything you did only skimmed the surface of the day.
and deep inside there was an emptiness that would not go away.
I can fly but I want his wings
I can shine even in the darkness
But I crave the light that he brings
Revel in the songs that he sings
My angel Gabriel
I can love but I need his heart
I am strong even on my own
But from him I never want to part
He?s been there since the very start
My angel Gabriel, my angel Gabriel
Bless the day he came to be
Angel?s wings carried him to me
Heavenly I can fly but I want his wings
I can shine even in the darkness
But I crave the light that he brings
Revel in the songs that he sings
My angel Gabriel, my angel Gabriel
My angel Gabriel
My angel Gabriel
My angel Gabriel
Heed my words!
I have come to prepare the way
This message will open your eyes
Open your eyes
Our doubts are traitors
They lead us from our goals
The fearful are the fallen
It's dismay that corrupts your soul
I know this but I can't stray away from Christ.
Let faith live strong, it carries me, pain for so long.
You're all I need.
Let faith live strong, it carries me, pain for so long.
He's the one that will open your eyes,
Allow him inside.
Let faith live strong, it carries me, pain for so long.
Let faith live strong, it carries me, pain for so long
Come and make me feel a little better
My crime is not for you but rather heaven
You were lying grounded angel and I clipped your wings
Oh don't you know you're beautiful to suffer
Don't you know that you could make it all better
And you will
Come and make me feel a little safer
Don't judge before the angels in the basement
I got Michael and Abadon and I got Gabriel
And oh don't you know you're beautiful to suffer
Don't you know that you could make it all better
And you will
Come and make me feel a little better
He never told no one what he had there
And if he had they'd just say you're crazy
Come and make me feel a little better
My crime is not for you but rather heaven
I never harvest a story
or jump down the well.
Got no one to save unless I know them too well
So please don't you ask me to play Gabriel
or a guardian angel to keep you from hell.
No whiter then your flags
No hens calling upon your shipwrecked deck
No keeper in your net or a new Bernadette.
I ain't Gabriel
Gabriel Gabriel Gabriel
I ain't no Soddam no Gomorrah no A no B no plan
No Buddha no Bermuda or invisible man
Sun after your rain or son that was lost
A usable connection or a friend of your judge
No late bar getaway car
or a very close friend you will push just too far
If I might have been there done that
You made your wish upon a bad star
No Gabriel
Gabriel Gabriel Gabriel
Gabriel Gabriel Gabriel
Gabriel
I never harvest a story
or jump down the well.
I got no one to save unless I know them too well
So please don't you ask me to play Gabriel
or a guardian angel to keep you from your hell.

No hens calling upon your shipwrecked deck
No keeper in your net or a new Bernadette.

- I Control the light
The darkness reigns, and the sun descends
- Dark spirits awaken in me
Eerie movements in his mighty kingdom
- The salvation of the black soul
A star formation, a warning in the sky.
- The second war is mine
A new dungeon of the dark,
Like a shadow in dusk
His scent, his aura, the all-embracing
Darkest one.
Destruction of all mankind,
Will shape the second purgatory land.
The devours of souls.
- An abandoned priest
The savior beckons for him to rise
- An abandoned angel
An encounter with the fallen one
- The final conflict
He's come to put an end to all
- Hypocrisy
This soul belongs in Hell,
But not with this savage og envy.
I took a deep breath, and together with
The mighty evil embrace, it was so intense.
I felt my desire, all hell in my hands.
Without repentance, my mind's in oblivion.
I can fly
But I want his wings
I can shine even in the darkness
But I crave the light that he brings
Revel in the songs that he sings

I can love
But I need his heart
I am strong even on my own
But from him I never want to part
He's been there since the very start
My angel Gabriel

Gabriel
Gabriel, j'attends
Dis-moi oh oh oh oh
Gabriel
Mon roi
Mon ange en qui je crois
Si l'amour vient de là-haut
Sauras-tu faire un choix oh oh
Tu sais fuir
Tu meurs
La fièvre dans le sang
Moi je prie pour qu'à nouveau
Tu me reviennes à temps
Gabriel
Gabriel, s'attend
A plus qu'un sentiment
Qu'un plaisir brûle sa peau,
Les deux ailes en avant
Es-tu fait pour lui
Es-tu fait pour moi
Es-tu fait pour lui
Es-tu fait pour moi
Gabriel...
Gavriel, what do you ask
Behold, you know the paths of the sky
Come to me, it's good when two are together Gavriel
All the ends of the earth
Touch at nightfall
As you pass overhead - Gavriel
Angel travelling through the heavens
Angel seeking the stars
He wants to see
If the waters have abated*
For this boy, I prayed - Gavriel
For this night, I waited - Gavriel!
Gavriel, if God should lock
The gates of the Garden of Eden
Come down to me, angel of ancient times Gavriel
The shadow still remains
Your cloak spreads the evening
And a clash of swords is heard - Gavriel
Gavriel, praying boy
While you say the poetry (prayers) of heaven
Don't forget the poetry of two (people)**
Come and make me feel a little better
My crime is not for you but rather heaven
You were lying grounded angel and I clipped your wings
