The divorce was amicable and both parents were committed to their children. The biggest problem was Lee's line of work. The lemon don't fall far from the tree
If all the citrus disease
... construct a love
Painted with a delicate hand
Extract the grace from a strand
Initiate the life blood
CHORUS:
Let's try to make it last
Let's fill the empty glass
Let's liberate the lost cause
But emptiness will grow
Let nothing overflow
Reillustrate the swan
What are the social climbers crawling to?
It's something further from the life they knew.
Line up the junkies and the white trash
Cause here is something that will last.
Here is...
Burned inside the heart of a spoon
Invent the perfect cocoon
Yeah, it makes you come alive
Drop the life right out of your womb
It brings you close to the truth
You could correct the wrong
CHORUS
What are the social climbers crawling to?
It's something further from the life they knew.
Line up the junkies and the white trash
Cause here is something missing in the soul of a man
Orphans clinging to whatever we can
Well here is...
Fill your mouth with words of the time
And get your concepts to rhyme
You just might beat the odds
Educated God's lonely man
It fills the void in his hand
He illustrates the swan
What are the social climbers crawling to?
It's something further from the life they knew.
Line up the junkies and the white trash
Cause here is something that'll last
Here is...
Here is, here is, here is...
Line up the junkies and the white trash
Cause here is something that'll last
Got my ticket. Got my pot of gold. I'm learning how to spend it on not much good at all. No good. My motor's running. No map to know the road. I've just been out driving to no place at all. No place.
You can't keep the sun in a hole underground,
So why does the worm feel so profound?
He's in the ground.
Slither and crawl,
Through your worm castle halls
Yeah but the rain clouds conspire overhead.
You carry your flashlight attached to your head,
Making your own point of view
The tunnels seem long
But you said you were strong
You want love, you need love
Yes you do, you really do
Reverse all the scenes
Make the dirty feel clean
You got stuck inside the muddy machine
muddy machine
Spray your demands
Make the slaves understand
That there's positions and a chain of command
You carry your flashlight attached to your head,
Making your own point of view
The tunnels seem long
But you said you were strong
You want love, you need love
Yes you do, you really do
The treetops stand tall
and the rain starts to fall
as your majesty king of the worms
is under terms.
Conditions and contracts
and properties too
you want love from a worm's point of view.
You know your money can't come when you go.
You spend up all your days down in a hole.
I know you think you're loved by everyone
But let me tell you that your time is gonna come.
I know some birds that wanna stick a beak in to you.
Contract and expand
as you squirm through the sand
You're gonna end up right where you began
so what's your plan?
The waves flood your tomb
and it looks like you're doomed
You want love, you need love
yes you do, you really do.
You need love.
What you need's love.
Can't you bre-love
Make you feel love.
There's birth and death and a life that's in between, but what's it all supposed to mean? When everybody looks back tell me what they'll see. What was I supposed to be? A tear in the universal stream? Wake me. Shake me. Show me something real, beyond the nothing that I feel. Break me. Take me. Run me out of time. What exists between the lines? They said it was a "how" but it was a "why". Madeline woke up eary in the day, and the picture will replay. Sped up slowed down, viewed it either way, but it always lookes the same. My hands put the bullets in her brain.
I'm just waiting for the sun, and I feel the weight a ton, but untill my time is through, what was I supposed to do or say or pray to anyway? I drew it black but it was gray. A folded paper lying on the ground. She couldn't live with what I found. A note from another boy in town. One-Two-Three load the silver in the gun, and I can hear the water run. Bang Bang Bang now the water's runing red, like the devils in my head. Sleep tight darlin' on your tile bed.
I'm just waiting for the sun, and I feel the wait a ton, but untill my time is through, what was I supposed to do? I there a light that I'll walk into, and will it shine just like the sun, or will it burn me just like love?
How will you even hold yourself up? How will you walk the hall into your doom? Will you fall and beg for mercy? Will you take it like a man? And do you think that God will understand?
Visiting hours and a man is ushered in, and he tells me with a grin... the note was from her father visiting.
The bright lights dimmed and the audience screamed like she'd heard a million times before, and underneath a veil of nicotine, Bennie wondered up and took the floor. The sound grew louder and her head got quiet. She looked into the mouths that roared. Walked stage left down an empty hallway and exited the stadium door.
There's somethin' 'bout Bennie just ain't right. There's somethin' 'bout Bennie just ain't right. But there's something in her voice that lets us understand. But There's somethin' 'bout Bennie just ain't right.
Weeks went by before Bennie was seen at a table in a small cafe. Wearing dark sunglasses with a mohair jacket and a locket on a silver chain. When somebody yelled, "It's her" and pulled a camera from a leather bag, but Bennie jumped up before her soul got stolen. She put the fella on his back.
There's somethin' 'bout Bennie just ain't right. There's somethin' 'bout Bennie just ain't right. But there's something in her voice that lets us understand. But There's somethin' 'bout Bennie just ain't right.
Bennie. Bennie, come back and sing some more and say the things that we can't say just like you did before. But if there's no new inspiration knoking down your door... Well you can always sing the classics and rake in a million more.
Come into my room, let the space consume you, cause the walls were dying to look at something new. Let me breath you in, soft clouds exacting, night sky protracting, a luminouse invite. Though the moon is old and dying, twilight just keeps inciting, and the planets all deciding where we'll fall into.
But love is it enough to destroy all the walls that keep on building up? I just want to stay with you untill the moon is overthrown. That's the part of love I've always known.
We'll stay inside my where the cracks are crawling, and the signs a-scrawling evasive and unkind. But you pull me near and undress my warm tears. You distill my sadness and plainly understand. Though the moon is old and ageing, twilight resuscitating and the planets still debating where we'll fall into.
But love is it enough to destroy all the walls that keep on building up? I just want to stay with you untill the moon is overthrown. That's the part of love I've always known.
Though the sky is cloudy we're still seen. The drifting bodies carried from the stream. The scaly fishes sorling through the dead abandoned sea. This universe unveils its mystery.
Well now I'm in your room and I hear my calling, though my heart is stalling. It's time to say goodbye. So through the dark I'll tread, 'till I find my strong bed, to the light that's been bled through heavy trees unknown. Now the moon is dissapating, twilight disintegrating, all the sunlight clearly stating where we'll fall into. A path to follow through.
Let's reload all of your guns tonight and shoot all the stars out of the sky, you'll be Bonnie. I'll be Clyde, and decorate your room with all the lies.
I'm alone, I'm alive, I've got it all and I've never been more satisfied. I'm an engine, a steam engine. I got money, got no time, but if I did I'd spend the day with you and baby I'd blow your mind. I'm like no other. Yeah that's what they tell me.
If you want me I'm at the top of the heap. If you want me I'm at the top of the heap. If you climb over all the bodies we'll meet. If you want me I'm at the top of the heap. Boo hoo.
Pushed me out, pulled me in, you pushed me out and pulled me in again, you did it again and again and I took it yeah with a smile, with a smile.
If you want me I'm at the top of the heap. If you want me I'm at the top of the heap. If you climb over all the bodies we'll meet. If you want me I'm at the top of the heap. Boo hoo.
Let me inside, let me taste your rejection, channels through my veins. I'm filled like on erection. My heart is pump-pump-pumping louder thn the brightest gun.
