From a Glengormley family steeped in rallying, Patterson made his debut on the special stages on the Mourne Rally back in 1989 in the Ford Escort of Seamus Sands ... That was until the call came in April from the M-Sport Ford team to ask if he would consider coming back to provide a guiding hand for young Greensmith for the latter part of the season.
