It's time again for California's "Young American Miss" beauty pageant, the biggest event of the year for Big Bob Freelander and Brenda DiCarlo, who give their all to put on a successful pageant. Raised on hamburgers and soda pop, She's got a winning smile that's hard to top. A credit to her family, the ideal teen, She's America's daughter, she's a beauty queen.
This beauty pageant's about to get ugly.
Doria Houston: Santa Rosa is so beautiful. I mean, I thought the shopping mall in Anaheim was great until I saw yours. It's... a credit to the vision of your business community.
Big Bob Freelander: "A guy turns 35." That's really what's buggin' you, isn't it? That you're about to turn 35.::Andy DiCarlo: Maybe. Maybe. Or maybe I don't see what's fun about kissing a dead chicken's ass.::Big Bob Freelander: Well that's 'cause you haven't tried it.
Andy DiCarlo: Jesus! Doesn't anything get you down?::Big Bob Freelander: Yeah, I get my apple cart upset sometimes. I just learned a long time ago to accept a little less from life, that's all.
Wilson Shears: I... I realize that you and I have gotten off to a rather shaky start. But things don't have to stay that way. What do you say?::Tommy French: Let's keep it shaky.
Wilson Shears: Now see here, Mr. French! I'm trying to be reasonable about this! Now our, our, our Jaycee Chapter is almost bankrupt because of this meat show!... and if we don't break even we're going to have to cancel the Rodeo for the Retarded.
Ted Farley: Isn't she lovely? Aren't they all lovely? Isn't everyone lovely?
Tommy French: Kick and Bend. Kick and Bend. No dear, if you kick and bend at the same time you're going to knock yourself out.
Andy DiCarlo: [Bob has just given Andy a rather "rehearsed"-sounding motivational talk - something that sounds like it came directly from the beauty pageant] Bob, I've finally figured out what you are. You know what you are? A goddamned 'Young American Miss'!
Wilson Shears: Are you all right, darling? Can I get you anything? A doctor? A Pepsi?
"The Winner Takes It All" is a song recorded by Swedish pop group ABBA. Released as the first single from the group's Super Trouper album on 21 July 1980, it is a ballad in the key of F-sharp major, reflecting the end of a romance. The single's B-side was the non-album track "Elaine".
"The Winner Takes It All", originally "The Story of My Life", was written by both Björn Ulvaeus & Benny Andersson, with Agnetha Fältskog singing the lead vocal. The lyrics to the song were thought to mirror the divorce between Ulvaeus and Fältskog in 1979, similar to the song "When All Is Said and Done", which details the divorce between Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Benny Andersson.
Ulvaeus denies this, saying the basis of the song "is the experience of a divorce, but it's fiction. There wasn't a winner or a loser in our case. A lot of people think it's straight out of reality, but it's not". American critic Chuck Klosterman, who says "The Winner Takes It All" is "[the only] pop song that examines the self-aware guilt one feels when talking to a person who has humanely obliterated your heart" finds Ulvaeus' denial hard to believe in light of the original title.
Robert Joseph "Bobby" Bare (born April 7, 1935, Ironton, OH) is an American country music singer and songwriter. He is the father of Bobby Bare, Jr., also a musician.
Bare had many failed attempts to sell his songs in the 1950s.[citation needed] He finally signed with Capitol Records and recorded a few rock and roll songs without much chart success.[citation needed] Just before he was drafted into the Army, he wrote a song called "The All American Boy" and did a demo for his friend, Bill Parsons, to learn and record. Instead of using the version Bill Parsons did later, the record company, Fraternity Records, decided to use the original demo recorded by Bobby Bare. The record reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, but they made an error: the singles' labels all credited the artist as being "Bill Parsons." The same track, with the same billing error, peaked at #22 in the UK Singles Chart in April 1959.
Kristoffer Kristian "Kris" Kristofferson (born June 22, 1936) is an American musician, actor, and writer. He is known for such hits as "Me and Bobby McGee", "For the Good Times", "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down", and "Help Me Make It Through the Night". Kristofferson is the sole writer of most of his songs, and he has collaborated with various other figures of the Nashville scene such as Shel Silverstein.
Kristoffer Kristofferson was born in Brownsville, Texas, to Mary Ann (née Ashbrook) and Lars Henry Kristofferson, a U.S. Army Air Corps officer (later a U.S. Air Force Major General). His paternal grandparents immigrated from Sweden, and Kristofferson's paternal grandfather was an officer in the Swedish Army. When Kristofferson was a child, his father pushed him toward a military career. Like most "military brats", Kristofferson moved around frequently as a youth, finally settling down in San Mateo, California, where he graduated from San Mateo High School. An aspiring writer, Kristofferson enrolled in Pomona College in 1954. He experienced his first dose of fame when he appeared in Sports Illustrated's "Faces in the Crowd" for his achievements in collegiate rugby union, football, and track and field. He and fellow classmates revived the Claremont Colleges Rugby Club in 1958, which has remained a Southern California rugby dynasty.[clarification needed] Kristofferson became a member of Kappa Delta at Pomona College, graduating in 1958 with a BA, summa cum laude in Literature. In a 2004 interview with Pomona College Magazine Kristofferson mentioned philosophy professor Frederick Sontag as an important influence in his life.
Sheldon Allan "Shel" Silverstein (September 25, 1930 – May 8/9, 1999), was an American poet, singer-songwriter, musician, composer, cartoonist, screenwriter and author of children's books. He styled himself as Uncle Shelby in his children's books. Translated into more than 30 languages, his books have sold over 20 million copies.
Born in Chicago, Silverstein began drawing at age 12 by tracing the works of Al Capp. He told Jean Mercier of Publishers Weekly: "When I was a kid—12 to 14, around there—I would much rather have been a good baseball player or a hit with the girls, but I couldn't play ball. I couldn't dance. Luckily, the girls didn't want me. Not much I could do about that. So I started to draw and to write. I was also lucky that I didn't have anybody to copy, be impressed by. I had developed my own style; I was creating before I knew there was a Thurber, a Benchley, a Price and a Steinberg. I never saw their work till I was around 30. By the time I got to where I was attracting girls, I was already into work, and it was more important to me. Not that I wouldn't rather make love, but the work has become a habit."
Stephen Chow Sing-Chi (Chinese: 周星馳, born 22 June 1962) is a Hong Kong actor, comedian, screenwriter, film director and producer.
Stephen Chow began as a temporary actor for TVB. He entered TVB in early 1980s, and was trained there, although he had few opportunities to appear in films. Chow graduated from TVB's acting classes in 1982. Chow began to find some success with the children programme 430 Space Shuttle, which he co-hosted with Tony Leung Chiu-Wai.
In 1987, Chow entered into the movie industry through the film Final Justice, which won him the Taiwan Golden Horse Award for Best Supporting Actor.
While Chow became quite well known on TVB for his comedies (especially 1989's The Final Combat), he shot to stardom in 1990's All for the Winner. This film made him and his older sidekick Ng Man-Tat two of the most sought-after stars in the Hong Kong film industry. Chow would collaborate with Ng on many of his more successful comedies, including Shaolin Soccer. Chow became Hong Kong's undisputed No. 1 comedian, taking over the mantle of Michael Hui. Unlike Hui, Chow's comedies are of the mo lei tau genre. With his expert comic timing and "rubber-faced mannerisms", Chow ranked alongside Andy Lau, Chow Yun-fat and Jackie Chan as the major box office draws of the 1990s.

[Verse 1]
Im performin' tonight you know that shit gon' be packed
Pay me in advance and make sure that its exact
My ex girlll probably show up for the simple fact
That tomorrow she can tell all of her friends it was whack
But fuck that though, this about me
They say my whole fan base is missing I.D.
But the young trend setting musician I be
Got critics giving up the recognition I de-serve
Never bring yo' misses By me Im it Im it call me Mr. I.T.
If I get one wish I'ma wish to die free
They say gon' head, ball like Mrs. Ivory, And I do
The realest in my age group, no shit
SoHo, Cosmo, Bah Mar blow fish?
Let's make a toast, tell yo' friends come closer
Drinks on me like a coaster
[Chorus]
We doin' it big
Look at what I done
Look at where Im is
Its only just begun
'Cause I was staying home
When they was having fun
So please dont be surprised when they announce that I won
And this is how my speech goes
I deserve this shit, I deserve this shit, I deserve this shit
Thats all I got to say, at the top is where I stay
And tell my haters never go away
The Winner
[Verse 2]
Long awaited, hated
Fans see me out and they holla happy belated
Its about time that you made it
I was bumping yo' songs when nobody else played it
When I was up in Hot Beat in Atlanta steady giving daps
Fetching niggas drinks but I never got to rap
If anybody asked though I prolly woulda snapped
But I cant sign nothing 'til my lawyer get the fax and
No one decides who the definition of talent is
And Mrs. Murry look at what my talent did
And what yo' business is
It's been a couple years
Guess its not about who you know, its just how you balance it
Its always awkward to dummy a nigga artist
And get on someone song when you know you comin' the hardest
It's how you start actin' when nobody can reach ya
My plan just hatched, happy Easter
[Chorus]
Im doin' it big
Look at what I done
Look at where Im is
Its only just begun
'Cause I was staying home
When they was having fun
So please dont be surprised when they announce that I won
And this is how my speech goes
I deserve this shit, I deserve this shit, I deserve this shit
Thats all I got to say
At the top is where I stay
And tell my haters never go away
The Winner
[Verse 3]
Uhh, ok I do it for the love
Bunk bed flow, always one level above
If Im in ya starting five you will never need a sub
And Im neva looking down so I always know wassup.
A lot of people sayin' fuck me
Problem is they be telling everybody but me
But I always got a Starbucks verse
Being brewed too hot please please double cup me
They never gave me support like Chuck Ts
And I never trust a nigga sayin' trust me
Nick Cannon and Will neva did it this ill
So you tell dont you dare interrupt me
Thanks to my mother for never giving up
You deserve the world, now gon' live it up
Thanks to uncle Steve my hero who always saved us
I could never give back everything you gave us
[Bridge]
And to my dad even though we was apart
I couldnt leave you out, you forever in my heart
Yeah, and in the name of Evelyn Cher
Ill forever forgive anybody that never was there
For me, no other woman could ever compare
My angel I hope Heavens prepared for whenever you there
[Verse 4]
Uhh, I got a revolutionary flow in every scenario coming through ya Stereo
Got a new chick, booty round like the merry go
Bitches like where he at, they be like there he go
And this verse deserve a burial
Dont cry for me this aint mothafucking Mario
Yeah, and Polow isnt at my session
Its the anticipation keeping everybody guessing like
[Chorus]
Look at what I done
Look at where Im is
Its only just begun
'Cause I was staying home
When they was having fun
So please dont be surprised when they announce that I won
And this is how my speech goes
I deserve this shit, I deserve this shit, I deserve this shit
Thats all I got to say
At the top is where I stay
You can drive a car, be a movie star
Any day of the week
You don't have to shout or walk about
You just have to speak
Say baby, you just have to speak
You can fly a plane, maybe go insane
Any day that you like
Everyone'll say, "Have you been away?"
Everything is alright
Say baby, everything is alright
CHORUS:
Here he come, that's a winner
Here he come, take a look, write a book
You can eat him up for dinner, yeah
You can run around over stony ground
Or lay in the sand
You don't have to show what you really know
We all understand
Say baby, we all understand
(guitar solo (Pete Ham, then Joey Molland))
REPEAT VERSE 1
CHORUS
Baby, we all understand
Baby, we all understand
Baby, we all understand
Welcome these players to your stage
Progressive, we cleverly syncopate
These rhythms, in a key, in an overture
Directing our experience into yours.
Waiting here for a visionary
Imagine living the new possibilities
In a matter of time you're a
Winner/success at hand/it's all
In your future just take command.
Anyone can be a winner
We all want a winner
Everybody wants one -
I know, ya'll know
I know, ya'll know
I know, ya'll know we gon' do now
I know, ya'll know we gon' do now
I know ya'll know
I know, we gon' do now
I know, we gon' do now
I know, we gon' do now
I know, we gon' do now
I know, we gon' do now
I know, we gon' do now
I know, we gon' do now
I know, we gon' do now
I know, ya'll know we gon' do now
I know, ya'll know we gon' do now
I know, ya'll know we gon' do now
I know, ya'll know, I know, ya'll know
I know, we gon' do now
I know, we gon' do now
I know, we gon' do now
I know, we gon' do now
I know, we gon' do now
I know, we gon' do now
I know, we gon' do now
We all have to climb a ladder
Don't use the one-way street to hell
Friends deceive without cold sweat
Tell me what we're fighting for
Kicking chumbs like wretched sinners
Praise ourselves to the highest point
God said he would send the messiah
But Satan closed the door
No more compromise, we pay the price
Make everything undone
We're ready for sacrifice
[Chorus:]
Reach out your hand, you'll be the winner
Let's try to catch the caravan of lies
If you stay so blind, you'll be the sinner
We have to change to be born again
Like a sniper fire of demons
When we're merging our souls
We shed the blood of our saviour
Blind leading the blind
Here we stand as reborn brothers
No more chasing our tails
Try to find the kingdom of perception
But no one sees the sign
No more disguise, let's realise
Let's go against the grain and try to optimise
Hello I'm an adventurer
I'm just a soldier of freedom.
I'm fighting for the light,
I'm fighting for my King.
My heart is beating for the Lord
cause He's the winner.
I'm gonna cross the sea,
I'm gonna fly around the world.
I'm fighting for the light,
I'm fighting for my King.
My heart is beating for the Lord
cause He's the winner.
He's the inner, I'm a winner.
I'm gonna walk up to the mountains,
and take the sword in my hand.
I'm fighting for the light,
I'm fighting for my King.
My heart is beating for the Lord
cause He's the winner.
I'm gonna tell everybody the Word,
I tell them a new day is here.
I'm fighting for the light,
I'm fighting for my King.
My heart is beating for the Lord
cause He's the winner.
He's the inner, I'm a winner.
He's the inner, I'm a winner.
I take the word from God to my heart,
I let it grow inside, I let it show the way.
I'm fighting for the light,
I'm fighting for my King.
My heart is beating for the Lord
cause He's the winner.
Hello I'm an adventurer,
I'm just a soldier of freedom.
I'm fighting for the light,
I'm fighting for my King.
My heart is beating for the Lord
cause He's the winner.
He's the inner, I'm a winner.
Well I'm going through the motions
Seems it happens every night of every week
Well it's an ever running cycle
and the chance of breakin out of it seems weak
Well my mind becomes a freight train
and it never lets me get no decent sleep
well my head starts a worrying about all the little
things I cannot change
And my heart it starts a pounding
messing up the way the blood goes through my veins
I never dream of nothin pleasant
I'm always lost or gettin booed off of the stage
Well the west coast was a desert
And New York City black
So I spent some time in Carolina
Make my money back
There's a trail of blood that trickles down from Denver
to the sea
and if that ones for the winner, this one must be for
Well there's this busy little corner
half a mile down the road from where I live
Where all these beautiful women
work the sidewalk for the little take and get
Oh it's like an escalator walkway
I lose my mind, please make sure my money's here
Well I got this friend, he takes his money down there
every day
And he just doesn't work
He asks for Georgia cuz she's special,
she reminds him he's a man he has worth
oh but I don't judge him cuz he's honest
which is more'n I can say I've been since birth
Well the west coast was a desert
And New York City black
So I spent some time in Carolina
Make my money back
There's a trail of blood that trickles down from Denver
to the sea
and if that ones for the winner, this one must be for
So if you're led into a wasteland or made to stumble
through the dark
You leave the cartoon color legacy or a common
watermark
We always back the underdog because he's the only one
we trust
and if that ones for the winner, this one must be for
??? the hands I use
They tried to beat me up again
You're destroyed, you're paranoid
Luck will never be the same
I am the winner don't need to be tamed
You'll never beat me at my own game
By myself don't need your help
with you around there's too much pain
Be alone to win it all
You are gonna lose the game
Get it in your crazy mind
Don't mess it up you're out of time
I've won the game it's all the same
